    Cheese pizza

So three star review does not mean the pizza is bad, the sauce is good, the dough is chewy and it is an average pie. I would not put it at the top near the New Haven pizza names, but it is fine. I have a favorite downstate pizza and a favorite local pie. I do like the price. Service was good. The hardest thing I had to do was trying to find their phone number. There are many pizza and Italian restaurants in this world named Verona. It is good, average pizza.

Our first visit to this new restaurant in Granby CT. Very friendly staff and authentic Italian dishes. Ordered a Stromboli and a Granby cheese steak. Both dishes were excellent. Very clean new restaurant and comfortable tables and chairs. Tables available for six people. Looking forward to returning. Try this one out. Let's support our new local small business.

I live around the corner from Verona Pizza, they opened about a year ago. Thought I'd stop in and give it a try. First, the tv had a saxophone player on it and it was super loud and unpleasant (right next to the register). I asked about a slice of pizza and couldn't see it (normally when a pizza place states it serves slices, it's under a heat lamp where you can see it). So I asked if I could see the pizza, she yells to a guy whose not in front and he comes out and pulls the pizza near the floor on a rack. He was clearly irritated by the ask. I said no thank you and sat by the register to look at the menu. I ordered a sub and she tells me 15 minutes, there's only 2 people sitting in there. I go and sit in my car, so I don't have to listen to their poor choice of loud entertainment to wait. My car in parked facing their front door, steps away and she sees me sitting there. I set my alarm for 12 minutes. When it goes off, I go in and she walks to the other counter and hands me my sub. It had been sitting there for several minutes apparently. I was surprised she didn't have to me or even perhaps bring it to me; I was that close. I said well thank you for letting me know. She was consumed with her cell phone with personal events instead of bothering with her job. If this restaurant treats all their customers like this, they will be out of business by next year. They were not busy. I felt like I was interrupting her with my business. Won't ever return and will share my experience.

Our server, Chris, produced menus and took drink orders. Although I am a big fan of housemade corned beef hash (and Drago's is exceptional), I was intrigued by one of the numerous specials, "The Pastor" Benny. It consisted of two separate towers of sausage patty on the bottom, then potato pancake, with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on top...and several spices. It was amazing, like a tsunami hitting my taste buds. The potato concoction was perfect, as were the poached eggs. Two of my friends had Granby Oaks, and the 3rd had several ala carte items. All of us were members of the clean plate club. Chris was excellent and efficient, and kept us well-caffeinated. Overall, great food and service, and reasonable prices. One caution...if you come on weekends, probably call in advance to see if they take reservations. They get crowded. 5 pastor benny stars

My wife and I were headed in that general direction on an early Saturday morning and this was the spot I picked. I will say, going in, I knew that breakfast may take some time and that Drago's isn't what I'd call, "diner-quick." That was ok with me because I had time to kill before a loose 9am appointment. It took a bit for us to be acknowledged and seated but I was ok with that. Our waitress was warm and welcoming and though I knew what I was going to order before I even left the house, the specials she rattled off all sounded great. I am obsessed with biscuits and sausage gravy and knew it was on the menu. It's not only on the menu but the staff's shirts all mention the biscuit. DAMN that is a good biscuit. It's a HUGE cheddar and chive biscuit (big enough for a sandwich). Paired with the sausage gravy and my perfect over-medium eggs it was a wonderful meal. My wife had the French Dip benny which she liked but would not order again. She felt the roast beef was a little tough. Hers came with a "loaded potato cake" which was insanely delicious. It's about the size of a crab cake, made with shredded potatoes and was so, so good. Of note-reasonable prices, many vegan, vegetarian and GF options (including vegan meats and cheese). The lunch menu looks really tasty too. I will be back (and I will get both a biscuit and a loaded potato cake to go, in addition to another great meal).

3.5: I had high hopes for this cute little place but was a bit disappointed in the food…read more The smallish menu consists of a few breakfast items like avocado toast variations, an omelette, a waffle and a pancake, as well as a couple sandwiches, and pizzette. They also have some baked goods like a cinnamon roll, alfagor shortbread cookies, and various cakes; they seemed to have a dry consistency which isn't my preference with pastries. The spinach and chicken empanadas ($6 each) were also a little dry and crust to filling ratio was more on the crust side. The two omelettes were ok but one was more well done than the other and you couldn't really customize it much; the home fries were good though. They also have a variety of drinks that were interesting, especially the Peruvian coffee and golden latte. You order at the counter and then your food is brought to you. Empanadas just needed to be heated. The atmosphere isn't bad. There are a few small tables and it was pretty quiet, with a few customers stopping in every once in awhile. In the warmer weather, outdoor seating is available. Parking shouldn't be an issue either.

"Well, you should see Polythene Pam She's the kind of a girl…read morethat makes the "News of the World" Yes, you could say she was attractively built" (Lennon & McCartney) Baked by Pam is a very sweet Peruvian Bakery, coffee shop, and luncheonette run by a mother and daughter team from Lima. How cool is that? You'll find it in the Antonio's Plaza on Hopmeadow Street in the space previously occupied by Lox Stock and Bagel, a Dunkin, and a Lion's Den coffee shop. The interior is very pretty with a white and pink color scheme, but what really grabs your attention are the tantalizing bakery treats in their showcase - cake slices, Dulche de Leche rolls, and wonderful Peruvian cookie/pastries known as Alfajores. Pam also serves up breakfast with avocado toasts, bagels wraps, egg sandwiches, and heartier fare like waffles, empanadas, steak and eggs, omelets, pancakes and waffles. Add in their deep line of coffees and teas, and you have the makings of a wonderful experience here, like we did. We had a very nice lunch here yesterday and ordered a spinach empanada and a beef empanada for me, and a Lucuma Chocolate Chip Waffle ($11.50). My empanadas ($6 each) were wonderful. They are homemade every single day by Pam herself and were flaky, tender, and really loaded with fillings. The beef empanada was my favorite; the delicately spiced ground beef was delicious. The full-sized circular waffle was a work of art, garnished with strawberries, Nutella, chocolate shavings and bordered by a pillow of golden whipped cream flavored by Lucuma, a sweet yellowish South American fruit. When Pam's daughter Danitza brought out our foods, she gave us a complimentary Nutella Alfajor - a yummy, filled shortbread cookie. Ours was so terrific, we ordered two of them to go -a Classic and a Pistachio. When we arrived home, we saw a third small Alfajor was tossed into the box as another freebie. We really fell in love with Baked by Pam! The delicious pastries, the breakfast and brunch menu, the pretty interior, and the wonderful service -everything was stellar.
