We had a 6 person Friday night reservation & were greeted warmly by the staff. Our table was roomy and comfortable and the music volume was just right! We really appreciated being able to hear each other without shouting. There were a number of specials, which our waiter did a good job describing. Three ordered the warm spinach salad, that was definitely big enough to share w up to 3 diners. I opted for the linguine w shrimp and asked then to add scallops (there was an up charge). The portions were generous and I enjoyed my leftovers the next day. The only regret was not finding any eggplant on the menu because I was craving it. I was a bit distracted and didn't take as many photos as i usually do. I recommend giving La Figata a try for yourself.

A good little Italian spot and it's very nice inside. We had a party of 6 and the waitress was very patient and kind with us. We were a chatty group and had a lot of questions we didn't feel rushed. We ordered a few items but I don't have a lot of pictures. The mussels app was delicious it tasted like a very hearty broth you wanted to have a soup. The Brussels sprouts were good. I ordered the shrimp scampi as my main dish I wasn't over the moon over but I did order something I normally wouldn't. The bolognese is what you need to get if you come here.

A friend recommended La Figata for dinner. The staff is super friendly, personable & super engaging with customers. Our waitress had such a great attitude and was helpful in deciding what to eat. The food was absolutely delicious! Chicken parm was flavorful & the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect! The scallops with risotto was a terrific balance of sweet and savory. Forgot to take pics of the dessert, but we had cannolis & the half baked (similar to lava cake). Both were incredible! The ambiance has a great modern Italian vibe! I definitely want to go back to try the meatballs with polenta appetizer.

Always love coming to this place. Have gone for both takeout and sitting in. Rather large venue which is nice/great atmosphere. Most times get the family dinner as it is tons of food, great choices, and allows variety. This time we got bolognese, carbonara, fig pizza, and salad. Really loved the bolognese- very flavorful! This place was incredible! For starters, our server was amazing and checked up on us frequently and got our order into the kitchen incredibly fast. For starters we were recommended to try the calamari and I am so glad we listened. Usually I am not the biggest fan of calamari because more times than not it is chewy or tastes rubbery but I did not have that issue with this calamari. It was flavorful and no weird textures. The dipping sauce that it came with was also yummy. For our meal, my mom and I shared the pasta flight, which included a spicy marinara sauce, pesto cream sauce, and Alfredo. They were all delicious and I am not too sure I could even choose a favorite. For a flight, there was also a healthy serving size of pasta in each bowl. Before leaving we HAD to try their pizza and opted for the margherita. The crust was soft and the sauce and cheese were delicious and tasted very fresh. From my seat I could even watch them cooking it in their brick oven. Highly recommend adding this place to your dining list!

Tonight we tried La Figata for the first time, starting with drinks and an appetizer of deviled eggs with crab. The eggs were fresh with ample crabmeat mixed with the egg yolk and were very good, nicely presented. Wife and daughter shared the Figata pizza with gorgonzola, caramelized onions, pancetta, fig jam, fresh arugula, balsamic drizzle. Both loved it and brought about 1/3rd of it home. I had the 14 inch pepperoni. The sauce was slightly on the sweet side with a great portion of cheese. The crust in the undercarriage was a tad on the weak side, but around the edges was very good and flavorful. The pepperoni was nice and savory as you would expect. My pizza on a score of 1-10 was a 6.5. For dessert the three of us shared the chocolate lava cake with chocolate ice cream and whipped cream. Sorry that the picture shows an empty played in three spoons, but it didn't last long. It was the hit of the evening.

I went with my family to La Figata for dinner. This is an Italian restaurant in Granby. It wasn't super busy when we arrived. We quickly got seated right across from the brick oven. I was starving, when I saw the New England Clam Chowder on the specials menu I knew I'd be getting that. However, the waitress and said there's a small correction on the specials menu, the chowder is actually the Rhode Island Chowder. I still got it, and forgot that there's a significant difference between the two, until it had arrived. The chowder was very runny and thin. It was far too salty. It had potatoes and bacon in it. The others in my party got the calamari, garlic bread and a pasta dish. They seemed pretty happy with it. I wanted to try the garlic bread, it was such a hit, that it was gone instantly! I also got The Figata pizza! I figured it had to be good since the restaurant was named after the pizza, or maybe the other way around?! The pizzas come in three sizes. I got the medium, because I knew I'd be sharing it. This was an ok pizza. The crust is pretty thin, but the edges were crunchy and crispy. There was plenty of fresh arugula on it. I didn't like the pancetta, there was a lot of it, making it the superior taste profile. There was also balsamic and fig jam, which is always interesting layering piece to any pizza. Overall, I can't say I'm impressed by anything at La Figata. They probably have very tasty pizzas, their signature pizza has a lot of potential, but it's not for me.

Meat lovers pizza but with no bacon add mushrooms.

Drinks stayed filled, and the waiter came by to make sure we didn't want any refills on any alcoholic beverages as they were being consumed. He recommended a few appetizers for the table. We got to try the chef special, garlic bread with ricotta, and calamari. All very good. As was the bread and oil that I think comes with every meal. After I heard the specials, I went with the short rib gnocchi, but the salmon with spaghetti squash was a close second. I wasn't disappointed in my dish. It was a really good size and I ended up taking half of it back with me, something tells me it's gonna be even better the next day as most Italian food is. My one regret is that I didn't order the lemon cheesecake to go. All of the desserts sounded amazing, especially the hazelnut tart, however, the lemon cheesecake is super cute and I heard from other people that have been to this restaurant before that it is delicious. Maybe next time!

Parking was tough and some guests spent 10+ minutes finding a spot, so arrive early. We had reservations and were seated right away, but because it was packed, service was slow. Drinks took about 15 minutes, appetizers about 20, and entrees roughly 35 minutes. Food-wise, everything was good overall. I had the bolognese -- great flavor, though the pasta could've been cooked a bit longer. Calamari tasted good ,but lacked seasoning and crunch. My mom enjoyed the salmon, especially the potato purée she subbed in; green beans were just okay. The lemon cheesecake was tasty, though not what we expected presentation-wise. One downside: Salads were offered in a way that made them sound complimentary, but they were $11 each and added up quickly. Also note that automatic gratuity is added for larger parties (ours was 8)...so it was $85. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. We'd definitely come back, just on a less busy night.

The restaurant resides in an older, well kept building in the small downtown area of the rural Town of South Deerfield. The interior of the restaurant is small, but welcoming, with an L-shaped bar for approximately (12) persons which accommodates food service, and table seating for approximately 50-60. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday, and by 6pm it was full; reservations are highly recommended. With regards to the food, everything was absolutely amazing! We started with the Fried Calamari (appetizer), which is my 'go to' as I both love it, and feel it is a perfect test of a kitchen's abilities, as it is a simple appetizer, but can be easily cooked poorly; this calamari was perfectly cooked (not chewy), and both lightly battered and flavored for a momentus start to our food experience. We also started with the Roasted Mushrooms (appetizer), and while I did not sample, the other members of my party thoroughly enjoyed. For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Cordon Blue (house specialty), which incorporated prosciutto and a unique creamy parmigiano sage rose sauce. The execution of the chicken preparation along with the sauce showcased the talent in the kitchen, reminding me that Gianni Figs is a chef owned restaurant. The other members of the table enjoyed Pasta Carbonara (traditional pasta), Grill to Table Scallops and Chicken Cacciatori (ribeye, chicken, & veal), all which I was informed were amazing! One minor critique as I pretend to be a legitimate food reviewer, is a consideration for the interior ambiance of the right side of the restaurant. If the right side were to more closely resemble the left side, with the addition of some wood, decor and softer lighting, it would create a warmer atmosphere for patrons. Additionally, a door or some type of partition to the kitchen entrance would also elevate the setting for those sitting adjacent to. Lastly, while I understand things will never go back to pre-2020, and the world is an altered place, with altered standards, I will note that multiple tables included patrons wearing ball caps and hooded/printed weatshirts while eating. Considering Gianni Figs food to be higher-dining quality, the dress code did not align and affects the ambiance. Food Rating: 4.5/5 Ambiance Rating: 3.75/5 Overall Rating: 4.125/5

If comfort had an address, it would be Mario's. We always kick things off with a small pizza for the table, because that's the law here. The bread and tomato relish? Should be sold by the gallon. I would pay an irresponsible amount of money for it. If you know, you know. Last night's table lineup was elite: * One of us ordered the veal Neapolitan -- fresh, tender veal in a vodka sauce so good it should have its own fan club. * Another went for the penne alla vodka with shrimp and scallop, which was hands‑down the best dish of the night. The seafood takes an already top‑tier vodka sauce and somehow makes it even better. As a Jersey boy, I don't say that lightly. * I decided to go rogue and step outside my usual penne vodka or steak. I wanted veal parm. I've never had anything fried here besides the calamari (which is amazing), so I figured: why not? Here's the plot twist: The veal parm was the only dish I've ever had at Mario's that didn't hit the usual Mario's standard. The veal itself was totally different from the fresh, delicious cut in the Neapolitan, and the breading had a little... funk. Almost like it had been prepped ahead and picked up a freezer‑burn vibe. Not bad -- just not Mario's‑level magical. But here's the thing: One imperfect dish doesn't change the fact that Mario's is one of our all‑time favorite restaurants. The atmosphere, the people, the consistency, the warmth -- it's all unbeatable. We love this place and will absolutely be back, probably embarrassingly soon. Mario's is home.
