When arriving at Ken's corner, I didn't realize it's the plaza across from Ben and Jerry's. The parking can be tricky since there's other businesses there. Luckily I was able to find parking and there was a line waiting to go into Ken's corner. I didn't mind the wait since I really wanted to eat here. I'm glad I did, it was moving, and they got people in and out of the restaurant . The workers are pleasant and very helpful when deciding what to order off the menu. As I mention it was my first time there, we ordered the coconut French toast and shared the surf & turf egg Benedict. Everything was worth the wait and tasted amazing. I'm already planning my next visit to try something else on the menu. Food came out presentable and hot. Glad I came here because it's prob one of the best breakfast spots in the area. read more

Great food and excellent service at a good price! Well worth the wait in line! Very nice place.

Considering other breakfast options on this side of CT this is why Kens get a 5*... Kens is a small breakfast place in glastonbury, and there always seems to be a line out the door (for a good reason). Once inside tho, the waitresses and busboys are always super friendly. I love that the waitresses always stop by for a quick chat when they see you. The eggs benedict is super amazing here. Actually everything is but thats my fav. French toast super amazing too, especially when they have the egg nog French toast on special. They always have two flavored coffee options which i love. And the home fries are always well seasoned and crispy on the outside and oft in the middle. The only downside really to kens is the wait which sometimes goes out the door. They don't take reservations and they don't have a sign in, so it kinda sucks for someone like me with Rheumatoid arthritis because I cant stand for very long, so we cant go on the weekends. But we went twice during the week this week and the wait was very short. So if you want a great breakfast at a decent price, nice wait staff, and you're near glastonbury, Kens is a place to check out for sure! read more

Note - arrived here on a weekend with a large group. We waited for quite a while due to there being no reservations, but it was well worth it. We had Sue handle all of our orders and she was more than accommodating for our group of almost a dozen people. Separate checks, a magnitude of questions, and lots of repeated statements from us and her. She has a patience of a saint and such a friendly demeanor. I love the atmosphere and the menu was designed by Sue herself, so we were able to get the best recommendations. Lots of omelets, French toasts, wraps, etc. All the food was amazing, but a common complaint I heard from the group was that the sandwiches were a bit dry or needed a sauce to push it to great. Definitely check this out. Be prepared for a wait and a deliciously good time. read more

This was from our trip to CT back in July. Landed at the BDL airport and yelped for a brekkie place nearby. Ken's Corner seems popular in the Glastonbury area and the wait time was about 30 mins. The service was excellent which is why I am giving this 4 stars. The food? I ordered a Traditional Benedict and hubs ordered an Omelet which was one of their specials. We both agree both dishes were just ok. read more

Ken's corner is usually very busy but that's a good sign in the restaurant business, one which ensures that the restaurant will likely stay in business and one that lets other people know that food is excellent. And although busy with a line that literally went out the door, the line moved quickly enough that I didn't regret waiting. The food was outstanding, chocolate chip pancakes with some berries, a side of bacon. (two sides if I'm being honest), and a green tea. I sat outside, as it was a perfect early June morning. My only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant. Someone in the parking lot was smoking pot early in the am and the smell was very strong. I'm no prude but for f's sake use your brain people - there were lots of children around. Not smart! The waitress was personable, the price was reasonable. Overall, an excellent experience. Try Ken's Corner soon, and you'll be adding it to your regular rotation. read more

Shout out to Mary our funny helpful waitress. The place is hopping but she managed to check in on us many times. We all enjoyed our meals with the home fries the winner in the taste department. Visiting family in the area and came here twice during our visit! Yes, it's that good and a truly special experience. Yes, there is a wait, but we met others that were waiting and found it to be delightful and time went by quickly. Service was warm and efficient, and the overall feel is a cross between a diner and cozy inn. Food and coffee were excellent and each time we bought some of their homemade muffins as well. Everything was super tasty! Can't wait to come back! read more

Went to Ken's with my parents who were in town so they could see their 11 month old grand son. Loved the kid's toys outside and assumed it was a family friendly place. Had to wait but totally expected with busy breakfast time and not a lot of options in the area. Sat down and anyone who has kids... when you sit down, your little one is a ticking time bomb. When the waitress came by, I had extremely politely asked when she was doing coffee orders if I could put my son's order in first. The attitude and tone I got actually surprised me. She told me they don't do staggered orders and proceeded to tell me that it's going to be a long wait and there's 21 tickets in front of me. She offered that the only thing she could bring is fruit because of "how long it's going to take..." It was the rudest thing to start the morning with and I was so surprised because of how unnecessary it was. I hit her back with the same tone and energy she was giving saying we were ready to order then. She very obviously sighed and rolled her eyes then took our order. Within 5 minutes our order was out and she even had the audacity to say she was surprised it was fast this time. I get it -- you're running around everywhere, it's fast paced, and dealing with a lot. But don't take it out on the customer, particularly one you can see has a little one who's going through pouches like he's never eaten. I wish I got her name but she had black rimmed glasses, shoulder length hair, black top eyeliner and wore a black thick headband. If my dad didn't pay, I would have debated leaving less than a 20% tip. Just wasn't warranted. Food was delicious, place was what I would expect for a cute, small and bustling spot. Just ask for any other waitress but her. read more

Looked for a breakfast spot to try before we head out of town. We saw the good reviews about this place and decided to try it out. When we arrived the line was out the door and into the parking lot and we ended up waiting probably just under 30 mins. We ordered the surf and turf eggs benedict, florentine eggs benedict and coconut french toast. The food was all great and the surf and turf eggs benedict is loaded with steak. The lobster was nice and flavorful. The place is a bit cramped but pretty typical for a popular diner. read more

I went here for the first time on the recommendation of a friend. I was eager to try a Reuben omelet she told me about. There was a line out the door but it moves very quickly. A nice lady who probably worked there handed out hot chocolate in cups to the people waiting. Once seated it took no time for the friendly waitress to come over. I ordered the Reuben omelet but I don't eat meat and they were able to take it out. Shortly after, my meal came out. The place is very busy but their efficiency is excellent. Very streamlined. And my omelet was fantastic. Everybody here is very nice. Well taken care of. read more

Well executed standard breakfast fare I've been to this place a few times before. The food here was always done well but never anything memorable. Yet somehow this place was always packed full of people. On my last outing, I realized what was actually good here. It's not that the food is amazing, but the execution is always solid. If you get eggs Benedict, you get them prepped the same way with the same quality. The hollandaise isn't broken, the eggs are poached but runny, the bread is toasted and buttered, and the ham is out of a package. The coconut French toast had a good amount of custard, cooked very well, and had ample amounts of coconut. The coconut was not very sweet and was fibrous, but the rest was great. After going to many breakfast spots, finding consistency is tough. Many times a single experience can be stellar to horrible by a factor of a couple minutes. This place is consistently good, and that's why they are as popular as they are. This is one of the better places to go for breakfast, but be prepared for the wait read more

This place exists in downtown Glastonbury and has been there for years, I rarely visit this place as it's always packed. Today I found time to go a little bit later than usual. Still had a little bit of wait. But got seated. To start with the ambience is gives you an old dinner feeling with hostess going around with coffee. We ordered hot chocolate with whip cream on top. It is made perfectly and delicious. I got the Western Omelette with Fried veggies and toast. My son got the two eggs with bacon and French toast . Portion wise they are huge and delicious. The service is outstanding table side, ushers and at the counter. Now i know why this place is always buzzing. Great breakfast and lunch spot in the heart of Glastonbury. read more

This place is definitely a keeper!!! Traveling for business and came across Ken's on Yelp. After eating Holiday Inn breakfasts all week, I wanted something different. So I thought to myself, "self, let's look for a Benedict ". I see that Ken's offers Benedicts - I love Benedicts. So I thought I'd check them out. You know it's a good sign when it's hard to find a parking spot. Inside is packed another good sign. Had to wait my turn in line for about 10 minutes. It was more than worth the wait. Seated in a comfortable spot with awesome 70's music playing in the background (don't hate me, I'm a bass player and 70's music is the best!). Man it is only getting better! Now to choose. Among all of the yummy sounding breakfast food (Oreo waffles, blueberry pancakes, etc) I found the Benedicts! Not just one or two, eight or nine! Am I in heaven?!? There are traditional, Florentine, Californian, lobster, Irish, veggie, steak, and one or two more!!! How to decide? I didn't! I narrowed it down to two. The steak and the Irish and ask my wonderful waitress to decide. She in turn asked the cook. He immediately said without hesitation "the Irish"! The Irish it was. Imagine (you don't have to, just look at the photos I attached) English muffins, covered in corned beef hash, layered with tender asparagus, topped with a perfectly poached eggs and dressed in Hollandaise sauce. Add fried potatoes and onions to the plate and you have the perfect Irish friendship!!! Let's just say they played very nicely together! Now for the fun! I cut into the poached egg, and a beautiful golden yolk flowed out!! No half overcooked yolks. No slimy undercooked whites. Only delicious perfection!!! By this time my mouth is watering. I can hardly wait for the first bite. Simply put - deeply satisfying! I let out a long sigh with the wonderful flavors filling my senses. Absolutely amazing! The fried potatoes and onions were tender with excellent seasoning. I could have made a breakfast of just those. Finally, if you haven't had a grilled muffin, you have to try it. Not toasted, cut in half and grilled on the flattop. It made the flavors pop! A good cup of coffee made a wonderful compliment. Alas, my breakfast was complete and I had to head to the airport. Upon my departure, the line was now out the door and this was a Friday morning. They said weekends are even busier. Then next time I'm in the Hartford area, I will be visiting my new friend Ken's place. It your ever in the area, and you are looking for something to satisfy the foodie in you, stop buy, arrive early, plan on waiting just a bit, and make a new friend! Thanks Ken! read more

I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. There was a long line outside, which was unfortunate because it was freezing, but also a good sign that this place must be good. Considering the line, it didn't actually take too long to enter and be seated - maybe 25 minutes. The menu was full of several tempting choices, but I ended up ordering one Coconut French Toast and one Pina Colada Pancake. I was skeptical about the pancake, but I ended up enjoying it more than the french toast. The waitress was another bonus to my visit - she had a great personality and really paid attention to detail...I wish I remembered her name. I highly recommend Ken's Corner and will definitely return for another delicious breakfast! read more

I'm not sure what people like about this place. They use fake maple syrup, cheap toast from a bag that just sits in on top of a shelf. It took us 2 hour to get our food and it wasn't even good. Server was nice but we won't be back read more

Nutella French toast was divine. My toddler loved the Mickey Mouse pancake. My tomato basil omelette and home fries were excellent, the whole wheat toast was fine, nothing special. Server was friendly and brought the kids' food out as soon as it was ready (mi e took longer), which I appreciated. Only complaint was that it took a really long time to be seated and served - we were there for over an hour and a half for lunch on a Wednesday. Love the country ambiance! Water is served in mason jars and smooth coffee in good-sized mugs. The menu is extensive and appetizing specials are listed on the chalkboards. Our server was pleasant, got our orders efficiently, and refilled coffee several times. The mushroom, Swiss, and avocado omelet was outstanding; the avocado was fresh and bright green. Bacon and eggs served with lightly salted hash browns and toast were perfectly cooked. The side of Coconut French Toast was soft inside, with crispy edges, and the coconut wasn't overly sweet. Ken's Corner was worth the drive and the wait. read more

Sitting here still thinking about breakfast at Ken's. A day where we're able to get in and get a seat is a great one! Keep in mind that there may be a line, but it's worth the wait. Funny enough our first time here was during the pandemic and the era of outdoor seating. I've been hooked since! The Benedict's are always what I go for. Whether it's a lobster one whenever I'm feeling fancy or a corn beef hash one, they're made perfectly for that diner feel. The home fries are exactly how I like them and the crispiness is on point. I also think often about their corn beef hash. They make it just right and it's a great side for any meal. I even enjoyed taking it home. Pancakes on the side is how we do it and definitely large enough to even share for the table. When the friends who've moved away come back to CT, Ken's is one of the places on the list. We were also in and out quickly which is what we'd expect from the diner! Can't wait to go back and we're glad that Ken's is literally around the corner! read more

You can put a great, classic breakfast place in any town, in any state, and it would excel. Ken's Corner in Glastonbury is that place. My 10 year old and I went early on a recent Saturday morning. That's the only way I do weekend breakfast, because I don't like to wait. At 8:20 or so, we got one of the last open tables. By the time we left, there was a short line out the door. Not surprised. Ken's is one of the most popular area breakfast spots. Ken's isn't fancy, but it's comfortable. You can come as you are after waking up. Or you could go before Church. You could take a break from your work day. They'll welcome you. Service is friendly. Ken's has the classics and some creatives. I ordered off the Specials Board. I forget the exact name, but it was something like "Loaded Potato Omelette". It included bacon, potatoes, cheese, sour cream and chives. Tasted great. Looked great. The home fries were well done the way I like without me even asking. The buttered rye toast was just what I needed. This was a great experience after a few years since my last visit. Five Stars. read more

I come to Glastonbury all the time and had no idea this place was here. Not a huge breakfast fan but this was super yummy! We got in early on the Friday after Thanksgiving around 8:15 and thankfully didn't have to wait. However, once we left there was a decent line developing. I ordered the coconut French toast and irish benedict. French toast was super delicious as was the irish benedict, and homefries. Pretty sure the corned beef was from a can which is my reason for taking off a star. I would likely have ordered something slightly different if I know. My friend ordered a waffle with whipped cream and fresh strawberries and loved it. Great service too! I'd come back for breakfast, as long as I could get up early enough before the line gets too long LOL. read more

This is the kind of unassuming diner everyone loves! It wouldn't look like much otherwise, but you can tell Ken's is good by the line out the door on a weekend morning. Don't worry, it moves pretty quick and is worth the wait! Our server and the hostess both took care of us efficiently and with smiles on their faces. Impressive given how packed the place was. There aren't many savory vegetarian main dish options so I ordered a bunch of sides and they were all super good! Highly recommend the coconut French toast. The Hollandaise was also really flavorful and went very well on top of the hash browns. Prices were quite good for the quality of the food and we left feeling satisfied. (Visited on 11/14/24). I met a friend for a late breakfast; there was a line outside (maybe because of the holiday?), but because it was just the 2 of us, they found a seat right away. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was nice (a pretty standard diner look, but not worn down at all), and the food was tasty; I had a steak omelette; if anything, everything could have used a touch more seasoning (especially the home fries), but that's just picking nits. It's my second visit, and I'd be happy to go back. read more

Ken's Corner is one of those places that specializes in breakfast. I can confirm that they specialize very well. Honestly order lobster from any breakfast place is risky but I had no issue doing it here. I tried the Lobster Eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The lobster was cooked perfectly and had the nicest buttery flavor. And no, it's not one of those mediocre meals where they throw a fancy ingredient like lobster on top because the eggs benedict itself was exactly how I like it. Eggs were cooked nicely, the spinach didn't dissolve into thin air and the bread still had a nice crust. Trust me I've had a bad Lobster Eggs Benedict from somewhere else and this one erased my bad experience. Their specials are always updated and are very unique. Their staff loves what they do and will remember your face. Everything here is done right and that's why I always find myself waiting for a table. Just keep that in mind when coming here at 8 or 9am! I even remember when this place was featured on an episode of MTV's Catfish. Just a fun fact. Anyways, the foods good. I mean great! I had the pleasure of trying Ken's corner for lunch today and I am impressed. The service was so quick and accommodating as I came during a busy lunch time for noon today. I was greeted promptly and seated right away. The hostess was super friendly and she got me seated and took my drink order. I ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict and I love seeing a perfectly cooked hollandaise sauce over a perfectly cooked poached egg. Hollandaise sauce is tricky in itself and the cook nailed it. The seasoning was amazing. Not overpowering on the potatoes and the lobster was full of flavor and buttery. The spinach was a nice touch to compliment the hollandaise sauce and overall I'm so happy with how good this Benedict was. I'm always skeptical ordering Benedict's and many others have failed in the area of great sauce and a perfect poach but Ken's Corner nailed it. My waitress was so nice and authentically friendly. 4.5 / 5.0 - We were staying in downtown Hartford, but many places don't open until noon. So we drove 10 min to Ken's Corner for brunch and it was totally worth it. We arrived just before 11am and there was a line consistently from when we arrived until we left. Fortunately, our wait was not long--10 min for us to be seated. Our server was very friendly, too, which made the whole experience even better. We ordered: - Lobster Benedict with Grilled Vegetables - Shaved Sirloin Steak Benedict with Homefries The food took less than 15 min. Everything is cooked-to-order and you can literally see the steam coming out of the food when they serve it, which was amazing. The Lobster Benedict was delicious. They've raised the price to $19.95+, but I would order it again. The Shaved Sirloin Steak Benedict, I think could have been better with a little bit of steak sauce. Both dishes come with a choice of Grilled Vegetables or Homefries, which were cooked to perfection. This would not be the place to come if you're in a rush, but I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a great local brunch spot. read more
