Popped into the Rocky Hill Mitchell's for the first time in a while for a Monday afternoon lunch. It was still pretty busy for a Monday, but was able to be seated right away! This used to be my spot in high school, as it's right down the road from RHHS. Ordered my favorite turkey club and it was better than ever. Loved the fries too! Staff is always always friendly and they never let your cup of coffee run low. Service and food were speedy as well. I def forgot how small it was inside, so I image there's quite a long wait on weekends. Definitely can't go wrong with a Mitchell's breakfast or lunch!

This is a classic breakfast & lunch (aka diner) spot that was rated as one of the best breakfast places by CT Magazine Their menu is large and has all of the classic diner foods + a few creative ones I got a lobster eggs benedict and a coffee. -The eggs benedict was tasty, but the eggs were a little undercooked (a little too runny, even for an eggs benedict) but the lobster and the side of potatoes were very tasty -The coffee was not the best The place was also very crowded with old people, and it seemed like it had a big following 8

My boyfriend and I come here all the time and love it. It's close to his work & with the fast and friendly service, it's frequently in our lunch rotation. Mitchell's is a very typical diner inside from a rotating specials board and that you seat yourself. It can get very busy, especially on the weekends, but the turnaround is relatively quick. The food is so good, with a wide array of specials, combos, and variety. This time I got the chocolate chip pancake, which was delicious and he got the eggs Florentine. The Hollandaise sauce is amazing! All the other food I've had here is great as well, and I try to try something new every time. Also, very affordable for the good quality food you're getting.

Only go here if you want to find out how to botch miserably a simple breakfast. We were recommended to this place, but it was just awful. Eggs were insipid and cold. Sausage was like the frozen links from the freezer (best part of the meal). Corned beef hash was inedible. Like dog food. Could not eat more than a bite. Bread was like styrofoam. Potatoes seemed like canned sliced potatoes drenched in oil, cold and glutinous. Food was awful. Service lousy. And they started sweeping with the janitor closet open kicking up the dust so we could breathe that i along with the aroma of cleaner. Ignored us when we asked them to stop. Avoid this joint like the plague. PS. One star is Minimum Rating allowed.

This is my new favorite breakfast place. The prices are so affordable & the amount of food is beyond satisfying. Best of all, their grits are delish! I arrived an hour or so before closing & the customer service felt homie & inviting. I didn't get the rushed or annoyed impression since I came so close to closing. In fact, a man & his kids arrived 10mins, if not less, before closing & they let them dine. This has such a family atmosphere, it's nostalgic. The food came out surprisingly fast, hot & the waitress had a smile the whole time & genuinely laughed with, us as well. Additionally, I was able to see the food being cooked & everyone fulfilling the orders wore masks & gloves.

Maybe one of the best diners in New England. Have large menu. Wait staff is #1. The daily specials are incredible. My gf and ordered the daily special. She had banana bread French toast. Who ever thought that up was a Genius. I had the salmon Benedict salmonella and asparagus on an English muffin with poached egg and Hollandaise

I popped in because the parking lot was mostly empty. It wasn't particularly busy in the cafe either. There were two small groups ahead of me in line. I order my food and black iced coffee to go. I received my food. It even had to be heated. And I had to wait 10 minutes for them to give me my black iced coffee. Even though there are only two or three people waiting in the drink area. And that was after I said something. So who knows how long it would have taken. This isn't because of lack of effort. The baristas were doing things. They're making lots of drinks. But it's not clear for whom. They finish the drinks and they don't call people's names. Maybe they're for to go orders? I understand that restaurants need to make choices about how they run things. All I can say is, that it's not a good experience to get all of your food and you have to wait for a black iced coffee (a drink that takes very minimal effort) for 10 minutes. Even though you're one of only a few people in the drink area. I'm not going to change my review score. But these experiences definitely affect how often I visit.

I also got the salted malted hazelnut cookie. I will say their pastries and coffee are probably the best thing! As for the food again, it's very salty! We tried the pepperoni pizza this time, and although pepperoni is salty, it was a little bit overboard. We also tried another salad and again it was completely drenched in dressing. Half of our order was completed when we sat down. I was able to finish my pizza before the salad came out. I wish everything was a little bit more organized, and came out together.

Drum Roll is predominantly a coffee roaster, but they sell some merch as well. They may serve beverages on site, but that doesn't seem to be a focus of the website or store and I was in and out when I visited. I did not see any seating. I bought two things at the small, thin store in OW, and I also recently had cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee at Bake Market in Rocky Hill. The following things stood out. First, the person who helped me, who I assume was the owner, was conversant in coffee terms that matter to me. Sometimes I talk to a store employee about single origins or roast levels, and they don't know what to say. The person who helped me knows coffee and they had a good selection. Second, my Ethiopian Single Origin Beans I used for a home pour over, turned iced coffee, were obviously fresh roasted. You could taste the roast. A coffee can actually be too fresh roasted, and based upon experience, I think some of the listed tasting notes will be more prominent in a few more days. I usually wait 7 to 10 days after the roast date before using coffee. For this reason, putting the roast date on the bag might be a good move. Third, the coffee bag is a high end bag. I buy a lot of craft coffee over the internet. Some places try to have useful bags, and some places try to save money on bags. Drum Roll has a ziplock style seal that makes keeping coffee fresh easier. Their bag is on par with other top places. Fourth, Drum Roll serves canned cold coffee. I'm not sure if they rotate their offerings. I bought one snap chilled Papua New Guinea Cold Brew can. It was very smooth and above average for a canned coffee product. Fifth, I don't remember the exact price, but I remember thinking the price was reasonable. I would definitely buy more bags if I happened to be in OW when I needed coffee beans and Drum Roll is open. Sixth, Bake Market's cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee was rich and smooth. It had a darker flavor and roast profile than I normally I drink, but it was well executed for that style. Based upon all of this, I recommend Drum Roll for people who make coffee at home. While I have my own grinder at home and buy whole beans, they even asked if I wanted the beans ground. 4.5 Stars

Our order was a Chai Latte and a Cold Brew - each was $5. The pours were very large, and I swear that my cold brew was the very best I've ever had. I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. So the next time we're looking for a midday break or afternoon pick-me-up..... I know a guy!

I bought a box of fifteen for $15. I had some time to kill before my appointment in Rocky Hill, so I also ordered a small coffee, lemon, and almond donut to enjoy on site. Luckily, both were vacant so I settled in, drank their excellent freshly made coffee (small for $3.50) and savored my little donut treats.
