A perfect morning ritual captured in one shot :)

My favorite roasters in the area. They have a great reward system, nice people, and very friendly service. The coffee is high quality with a wide variety of options, including organic FTO, which is a great choice because it's sustainably and ethically sourced. I also got my Chemex there for making pour-overs, and it has been a fantastic addition to my coffee routine. If you're serious about the quality of your coffee and prefer to support local businesses rather than big companies, definitely give them a try!

With a little bit of free time lately I've been trying out some coffee places. Stopped here on a Wednesday around noon, so not too busy. Quaint place with some seating and wifi to get some work done or have a coffee date. I'm fairly simple with my coffee. I ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and added stevia. I really enjoyed the flavor of the coffee. Thought it was smooth and probably could've had it black. They have a wide variety of coffee beans that you can take home. I thought it was really cool that you can actually watch them roasting coffee beans. The smell outside not great, but did not impact the inside. I apparently forgot to take a photo of my coffee but I definitely plan on coming back here. The chocolate truffles they have also look delicious so I plan on trying those out next time as well. The other great thing was the prices are very fair, not expensive and probably better than what you get at the chains.

Love to stop by before heading to the library! Perfect spot to sit down, sip some delicious coffee, and get some work done. The tables in the front seem to fill up fast, but there is more seating as you go in. The food is nothing to write home about but the drinks are always consistently good and they love to regularly switch out their specials!

This coffee shop opened in 1989 and they roast the coffee beans they acquire, in small batches. They have two entrances, one on the side and one in the front. We walked through the front and it was surprisingly a long hallway. There were tables up front which was quiet. You can see the coffee roaster displayed there. The counter is in the back; there were a ton of employees working and they were all so friendly, smiley, and welcoming. There were plenty of seating as well. We found free parking easily on street. The place was nicely decorated and clean. I ordered an iced latte and it was great; the prices were comparable to other coffee shops. They also had cookies which my toddler enjoyed. Overall, a great coffee shop!

I love it here! Can get crowded but I do believe they have a good amount of seating. I grabbed my latte and brought it to the library next door. My latte was so good, I'm still thinking about it. I'll definitely be back! Staff were super kind. This spot had a classic town coffee shop vibe and I loved that! I would love to come back and try their sweets as well.

Daybreak Coffee Roasters in Glastonbury is a good friend to coffee drinkers. If you want somebody else to make your beverage, they'll do it. If you want to buy coffee beans to grind and brew at home, they have a good selection of single origins and blends. If you need accessories, like Chemex Pre-Folded Square Filters, for home brewing, you may find it there. The best thing is, if you need all three of these things like I recently did, they've got you covered in one stop. That has great value to me and hence my rating may be higher than other reviewers'. If I was rating solely based upon my black Iced coffee, my rating would be 4 Stars. It was fine, but it didn't really distinguish itself. However, I have now cold brewed both bags of coffee I bought for home use -- a Papua New Guinea and a Guatemalan Huehue. Both were very good and met my expectations. One of the values of making cold brew or iced coffee at home is, you can choose a coffee you want. Whereas, your in-shop drinking options are very limited if you're a cold coffee drinker. You get what they already have cold, and that usually is just one type. In any event, Daybreak is a great place if, like me, your coffee needs are diverse. Five Stars.

I've been to Daybreak Coffee Roasters many times through the years. This is a nice coffee shop in Glastonbury, where they roast their coffee beans, and you can see the machine right by the entrance. In addition to the coffee or coffee beans, whatever you prefer, you can also get loose tea, or they'll brew it for you. They have loose chocolate, local maple syrups and honey. Their tea is absolutely delicious, and they have a pretty large variety. One of my favorites might be the cranberry orange. It's so rich in flavor and in smell, regardless if it's hot or iced. Unfortunately, something is off about the coffee. Yesterday I got the Pumpkin Spice iced coffee. There was nothing pumpkin or spice about it, other then that the coffee was fine, the flavor was off. My friend got the cappuccino, it tasted bitter, even with sugar. They're a nice spot for sitting outside on a sunny day like yesterday. Their staff is always super pleasant and friendly.

I always enjoy visiting Daybreak. I don't know if it's their coffee or syrups, but all of their drinks are DELICIOUS! My go-to is their Dolce de Leche latte. Today, I opted for an iced Matcha Latte and I added Honey/Lavender Syrup... very refreshing! Their shop is cozy and adorable and filled with the delicious aroma of freshly roasted coffee. It's definitely a place I could comfortably spend the day reading or working. Their staff is super friendly and clearly passionate about the place, which makes visiting even more enjoyable. My only complaint is that their prices are very high compared to most CT coffee roasters. But their drinks are so enjoyable, it's worth stopping by every once in a while.

I love this little coffee shop! It's unassuming from the outside, but they have the best coffee around! They have the bar where they can make pretty much anything you could want (I've gotten a cortado there and it was delicious) but they also have an extensive bean station where you can pick up bags of beans (either ground or whole) of at least 10 different roasts, it's a coffee-lover's heaven!

Below average cafe in a somewhat nice location. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Lots of street parking and parking lot spots. The place has very dim lighting and dark interiors, which makes it seem dull, dirty, and dingy. Very motel-like. Also, the matcha was very bad quality - probably not ceremonial grade. It was dark green and not whisked well, as there were lots of clumps in the hot latte with oat milk (Califia brand which is nice). Probably wouldn't recommend.

Open again to the public! Ground beans to go this time (for the drip) house breakfast blend, and want to try the toffee crunch next myself it smelled amazing!

Not a destination, or the coolest coffee shop, or even amazing coffee, but where else are you going to get a cup of Joe? Actually, F*** Joe. I prefer the vibrant coffee house modeled on imported fresh beans, roasted on site and full of flavor. Not just a bag of coffee, but instead a lesson in history, geography, anthropology, etc, I am severely geek-ing out. This place is modeled to the old school coffee house, with flavored coffee, flavored syrup, and mega dark French roast that tastes like burnt coffee. Also: flavored creamer. To each its own, I guess, and I am just stating my preference (and what is hip in my eyes). So, somewhat disappointed but relieved to get a latte made with decent milk and decent coffee. I also got a sandwich, and if you know me, you know panini are a no-no for me, so just the fact that they put my egg n cheese sandwich in a panini press is a flagrant foul. But whatever... Cool space, friendly cops (?), a community space.

An actual coffee shop that does it all. They can make you any coffee you want and it has flavor because they roast their own beans at the front of the store. You can place orders for beans, chocolates, and even do to go orders if you want to make coffee at home. Coffee and teas to please everyone. The cold brew is good but honestly not the bets I've had. Lattes are delicious and made very well in a to go cup so couldn't judge the skill of their pour. I have stopped by more than once when I'm in the area. Problem with parking, it's only a couple spaces on the side of the building at a busy intersection. If you can't find a spot then good luck.

Side wall includes merch, across from some seating and the specially scooped/ground teas and coffee beans to go.

It came in a navy ceramic cup with a saucer, with a design on top. This was one of the smoothest and creamiest coffees I've had in a while. From the texture of the latte its self, to the flavor, it is very smooth, in a way lux. The flavor was there but in a very organic way, nothing is too sugary. Drum Roll is predominantly a coffee roaster, but they sell some merch as well. They may serve beverages on site, but that doesn't seem to be a focus of the website or store and I was in and out when I visited. I did not see any seating. I bought two things at the small, thin store in OW, and I also recently had cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee at Bake Market in Rocky Hill. The following things stood out. First, the person who helped me, who I assume was the owner, was conversant in coffee terms that matter to me. Sometimes I talk to a store employee about single origins or roast levels, and they don't know what to say. The person who helped me knows coffee and they had a good selection. Second, my Ethiopian Single Origin Beans I used for a home pour over, turned iced coffee, were obviously fresh roasted. You could taste the roast. A coffee can actually be too fresh roasted, and based upon experience, I think some of the listed tasting notes will be more prominent in a few more days. I usually wait 7 to 10 days after the roast date before using coffee. For this reason, putting the roast date on the bag might be a good move. Third, the coffee bag is a high end bag. I buy a lot of craft coffee over the internet. Some places try to have useful bags, and some places try to save money on bags. Drum Roll has a ziplock style seal that makes keeping coffee fresh easier. Their bag is on par with other top places. Fourth, Drum Roll serves canned cold coffee. I'm not sure if they rotate their offerings. I bought one snap chilled Papua New Guinea Cold Brew can. It was very smooth and above average for a canned coffee product. Fifth, I don't remember the exact price, but I remember thinking the price was reasonable. I would definitely buy more bags if I happened to be in OW when I needed coffee beans and Drum Roll is open. Sixth, Bake Market's cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee was rich and smooth. It had a darker flavor and roast profile than I normally I drink, but it was well executed for that style. Based upon all of this, I recommend Drum Roll for people who make coffee at home. While I have my own grinder at home and buy whole beans, they even asked if I wanted the beans ground. 4.5 Stars
