Local, family owned, roasters. Enough. Said! Stumbled upon this gem thanks to Yelp. It's actually kind of a funny story since a friend of mine had already told me about these awesome Coffee Roasters in Bethel where he monthly goes and gets all his coffee. The funny thing is I didn't realize it was the same place. It didn't click. So truthfully it's kinda half thanks to yelp and to my friend. Funny enough, as we were in line to buy coffee our friend walked right in. How did I not come here sooner???? ** NOT A CAFÈ OR A COFFEE SHOP ** Yes, don't let that confuse you or think that you will be walking into this cute coffee shop where you can sit and order coffee and sip your day away. This place exclusively sells coffee beans and all kinds of amazing, exotic blends. If you don't know what you want don't worry, these super experienced friendly helpful girls are all the help you need. They are so patient and guide you through your bean purchase journey to make sure you go home with the perfect blend. I'm an espresso drinker, of course I ordered an espresso blend. Espresso #2 I'm so in love with you! You can seriously smell the flavor explosion when you inhale those beans. Once you try it at home the flavors just pop right out and the fruitiness comes through. Also, I love how they will always have a coffee on brew for you to sample. Uh-mazing! They have everything you could possibly be looking for. Prices are not the lowest but if you're coming here for prices then please go hit up the coffee section in the supermarket. This location is for coffee lovers and enthusiasts and their palates that want to be wowed. This coffee not just ok, it's exceptional. Can't wait to go back next time and get something funky for my pour over. Oh, forgot to mention, when I purchased my Espresso #2 she also gifted us some of the Espresso #1 for us to try. Thanks so much RR for existing and making us happier people one coffee at a time. You're Brew-tiful!

Redding Roasters is one of my favorite places to go each weekend. It is a family run business that treats their customers like family as well! They roast all their own coffee with beans from exotic places all over the world. When you go in you will be punched in the face with the most amazing coffee smells. They almost always have piping hot free coffee to try yourself and will even show you where all the magic happens if you ask for a little tour. They will also grind your coffee for you which is nice. One warning though- Starbucks and Dunkies may not cut it anymore :)

Look for this sign on Greenwood Ave. across from Carluzzi's. RR is behind Rainy Day Book Exchange.

I have been a fan and customer of Redding Roasters for 5 years. Besides being the best fresh roasted coffee seller in the area, their attention to personalized customer service is unparalleled. I prefer a 50-50 blend of Kona & Kenya beans. Kaitlyn is excellent at letting me know when the latest roast is ready for purchase. She won't sell it to you the same day she roasts it. She lets you know when it's ready to be brought home and brewed. And she grinds it fresh in front of you to your specifications - Whether you use an automatic drip coffeemaker or a Melitta, paper filter, cloth filter, etc. Kaitlyn and her husband learned their craft from Kaitlyn's father, who ran Redding Roasters for more than 10 years before they took it over. They have kept the same high standards of bean selection and roasting techniques. I will never, ever buy my coffee anywhere else.

From street corn toast to liege waffles, yes, they have nutella too :') - this place has all the basic things you need for an amazing coffee break. While covering your vegan and gluten free needs with plenty of options. I will say, the gf waffles are the frozen toaster ones (which is totally fine because no kitchen so there's options for everyone!). Can't wait to try the liege waffles next! I have my eye on the mushroom and onion avocado toast but I can assure you the street corn chickpea stands pretty great on it's own. Expect tea and coffee bags and lots of goodies available for purchase with an awesome seating area just perfect for hanging out or doing some work while you sip and snack. OK. I never get lattes and the lavender latte possessed me and made me order it. On a hot day I never even said how I wanted it. Somehow someway, the awesome barista and owner KNEW to make it cold, and I'm SO glad I had this lavender iced latte EXPLODING with lavender. Not overly sweet, just right and fully natural. Basically it didn't taste like a fake lavender simple syrup combo. Oh, best part, milk options are endless. Oat and COCONUT are in the house. Of course, I got the coconut! You can order other great beverages like the pea lemonade (the pretty purple one!!) and other plant derived natural elixirs. Can't wait to try!

They are some sort of subtenant of the owl market. While this allows them to focus exclusively on coffee, it does create a bit of a disjointed feeling between the food service and the coffee service. However, given that the owl's food is very good, it does not necessarily detract from the overall experience. The roast: it's a bit of an esoteric roast, leaning into the sour cherry type profile. While it would probably do well at an esoteric espresso competition, I personally find it to be a challenge when paired with milk. This is a problem since my primary focus is on milk-based espresso drinks. I wish they would offer a somewhat more traditional roast. My primary descriptor for their espresso is "sour". Finally, while they do have a skilled barista on staff, he is only there part-time. It is imperative, in my opinion, that a coffee shop with this type of positioning ALWAYS have a skilled barista on staff.

This location is where the Shearwater beans are actually roasted (in 20lb batches, which counts as "really small" in the coffee industry). When I came by, I received a friendly and enthusiastic greeting from the personnel on site, who expressed no annoyance at being diverted from their normal wholesale activities. Shearwater has good beans, and those beans are roasted with care. I came in for some ground coffee that I could use while visiting Central Connecticut and walked away with a full pound of roasted coffee in the bean, 12oz of ground coffee, and a cold brew coffee to drink on my way back. The cold brew was delicious, and I liked the ground coffee (Honduras, I think) as well. The unground coffee made its way down to Philadelphia, where it's giving great pleasure to its recipients. Although Shearwater has espresso machines and some pour-over equipment on site, only the cold brew was available to retail customers like me. That was fair enough, but still somehow disappointing. If you're around Trumbull and are looking for some excellent coffee to take home, head directly to Shearwater without passing Go. As other Yelpers have mentioned, there's no milk or sugar, leading to a pure and complex coffee experience. After letting it cool a bit, it was very deep and flavorful.
