Lunch stop on the run...needed sustenance between this, that and the other. Ran in to Bob's and had a quick English muffin and side of bacon. Surely hit the spot. My travel partner had one of the two soups of the day: Pea Soup. This was delicious [I snuck a spoonful or three] and truly it had that home made taste, Service was prompt and friendly with lots of regulars enjoying themselves. Need to go back when we have more time.

Bob's Coffee Shop is a casual, no frills, classic breakfast and lunch joint joint that serves food at a fair price point. Given the number of tables filled with comfortable-looking people at breakfast and the way many customers were personally greeted, I believe Bob's has a loyal customer base. I was a first time customer and the Bob's servers warmly greeted me and provided very efficient and friendly service throughout my meal. Service is definitely a selling point. The inside is clean, but a little rough around the edges. When I looked down, I noticed several areas where the carpet had been taped. The breakfast offerings seemed relatively standard for a place like Bob's, which is what I was looking for. I ordered a breakfast combo with scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries and rye toast. I made two special requests - well done home fries and melted American cheese on my eggs. Bob's succeeded on both requests. The food was about average. The hash browns were well done, but they needed more salt during the cooking process. The generous three sausage links, on the other hand were too salty. I ate the sausage and hash browns together to balance the salinity. The eggs with melted cheese tasted good, but they came flat and molded together. I would have preferred a more textured look and feel. I can see why Bob's is popular with its loyal customer base. Service is great and the food is familiar and decent. Three Stars

The "BIG Breakfast"... not so BIG.

ATTENTION SENIOR CITIZENS!! If you're single and ready to mingle. This is the spot. Well, maybe for a chat. Plenty of company to chat with on the counter. Avg age: 61 Atleast. This is a traditional spot. Like traditional!! Servers and staff all wore workout clothing, like hoodies and tshirts. Very friendly and it felt as if I was at my grandmas house at a BIG feast. The staff: very nice. Welcoming and friendly. I ordered the big breakfast. Wasn't that BIG. But it was simple and safe. I wanted my homefries crispy... that didn't happened. They must be short staffed in the kitchen because it took longer than expected to get my food. It was even longer for the woman besides me. Taste: it was OK. It's traditional remember. You can find this same meal at 100 other locations. I had to miss my Chiro appointment because of this wait.... But breakfast was more important. Would I return: probably not. Maybe to just support a local business.

Had to go with the Special yesterday and it sure did fuel my day! - Biscuits with sausage gravy, 2 eggs, with potatoes Always a pleasure!

Bob's Coffee Shop is an iconic staple in the Rocky Hill community. It is a small and quaint coffee shop with approximately 20-25 tables. On the weekends they are only open until noon and are packed. The food is excellent, although the portions are a bit smaller and the bacon could be cooked a little more, but that is my personal taste. Other than that I have no complaints and will be back soon!

Very tempting, but bacon egg & cheese on a hard-roll most tempting.

I had been eyeing Bob's Coffee Shop (& Much More) and finally stopped in one Sunday morning. It was about 7:00 am and on my way to the office, yup. The Shop was hopping with regulars at tables and a smaller counter. The aroma of Breakfast in the air: Coffee, Bacon, Eggs, Butter, Cinnamon, and Syrup thick in the air. Boldly, I saddled up to the counter between a couple of fellas. "Morning" was exchanged. I cautiously eyed the plates and before a menu could be obtained, a coffee was offered. I ordered my standard grab and run: Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Hard Roll...and a coffee while I waited. Knowing other were in the office, I checked-in and poled orders. Wait staff was pleasant when the order expanded. Providing a better time to enjoy the small-town vibe and sense of community. The sandwiches delivered warm with packets of ketchup. Appreciated by all and new fans created. See ya, next time, Bob!

Very busy on a sunday after church and the interior is outdated but holds up pretty well. The prices are good but the food not so much. At least for me. Their eggs benedict was just OK but the homefries that came with it were a disappointment. Plenty of crumbs, they looked like leftover homefries and they didn't taste rhat great either. Service was very friendly though. Simply put, there really is not much to say about this place other than it's filled with old people and mediocre food. I didn't just say that.

Came here when we were too late for breakfast at NY Pickel deli nearby so we stopped in. First time, cute spot very casual comfortable you can tell this is where the locals go. Menu prices were super affordable! We got: eggs Benedict, omelette, coffee and hot coco all for $25 food was hot and fresh. The staff was so friendly our waitress was very attentive and even brought more hollandaise sauce since she felt it wasn't enough for her liking. We for sure will be coming here again!

I popped in because the parking lot was mostly empty. It wasn't particularly busy in the cafe either. There were two small groups ahead of me in line. I order my food and black iced coffee to go. I received my food. It even had to be heated. And I had to wait 10 minutes for them to give me my black iced coffee. Even though there are only two or three people waiting in the drink area. And that was after I said something. So who knows how long it would have taken. This isn't because of lack of effort. The baristas were doing things. They're making lots of drinks. But it's not clear for whom. They finish the drinks and they don't call people's names. Maybe they're for to go orders? I understand that restaurants need to make choices about how they run things. All I can say is, that it's not a good experience to get all of your food and you have to wait for a black iced coffee (a drink that takes very minimal effort) for 10 minutes. Even though you're one of only a few people in the drink area. I'm not going to change my review score. But these experiences definitely affect how often I visit.

I also got the salted malted hazelnut cookie. I will say their pastries and coffee are probably the best thing! As for the food again, it's very salty! We tried the pepperoni pizza this time, and although pepperoni is salty, it was a little bit overboard. We also tried another salad and again it was completely drenched in dressing. Half of our order was completed when we sat down. I was able to finish my pizza before the salad came out. I wish everything was a little bit more organized, and came out together.

Drum Roll is predominantly a coffee roaster, but they sell some merch as well. They may serve beverages on site, but that doesn't seem to be a focus of the website or store and I was in and out when I visited. I did not see any seating. I bought two things at the small, thin store in OW, and I also recently had cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee at Bake Market in Rocky Hill. The following things stood out. First, the person who helped me, who I assume was the owner, was conversant in coffee terms that matter to me. Sometimes I talk to a store employee about single origins or roast levels, and they don't know what to say. The person who helped me knows coffee and they had a good selection. Second, my Ethiopian Single Origin Beans I used for a home pour over, turned iced coffee, were obviously fresh roasted. You could taste the roast. A coffee can actually be too fresh roasted, and based upon experience, I think some of the listed tasting notes will be more prominent in a few more days. I usually wait 7 to 10 days after the roast date before using coffee. For this reason, putting the roast date on the bag might be a good move. Third, the coffee bag is a high end bag. I buy a lot of craft coffee over the internet. Some places try to have useful bags, and some places try to save money on bags. Drum Roll has a ziplock style seal that makes keeping coffee fresh easier. Their bag is on par with other top places. Fourth, Drum Roll serves canned cold coffee. I'm not sure if they rotate their offerings. I bought one snap chilled Papua New Guinea Cold Brew can. It was very smooth and above average for a canned coffee product. Fifth, I don't remember the exact price, but I remember thinking the price was reasonable. I would definitely buy more bags if I happened to be in OW when I needed coffee beans and Drum Roll is open. Sixth, Bake Market's cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee was rich and smooth. It had a darker flavor and roast profile than I normally I drink, but it was well executed for that style. Based upon all of this, I recommend Drum Roll for people who make coffee at home. While I have my own grinder at home and buy whole beans, they even asked if I wanted the beans ground. 4.5 Stars
