This used to be one of my favorite spots, which makes this disappointing to say. Service -- specifically from one of the blonde bartenders (she's never introduced herself, so I don't have a name) -- has consistently gone downhill. We've had to repeatedly flag her down while sitting with empty plates and glasses. No check-ins, no acknowledgment. When she does come over, her attitude makes it feel like guests are an inconvenience. I'm a bartender myself, so I understand busy shifts. But basic hospitality like eye contact, clearing empties, professionalism -- isn't optional. My drink was poorly made and unbalanced, which only added to the frustration. What really crossed the line was hearing staff behind the bar openly speaking negatively about customers -- including people currently seated. That's not just bad service, it's unprofessional. It's unfortunate to see a place I enjoyed decline like this. I hope management steps in. read more

Staff: friendly and on point Food: this is where they dropped the ball, the fig flatbread was smothered with a fig like preserve on a horrible crust, either wasn't cooked correctly or the didn't give the dough enough time to rise. Then placing un-toast prosciutto on top was adding to the quandary! The cubano sandwich was not bad but lacking the butter cook that makes a cubano taste so good. Adding to this was it was a working lunch with colleagues and the restaurant has no public WiFi???? This is the first place I have been in over 5 years that didn't have a guest WiFi. Enjoyable happy hour experience. Sat in the banquet area as long as we agreed to be gone by 6 to accommodate their reservations-no problem ! Had taco, mussels cheeseburger roll and corn dip. My only feedback is i wish the corn dip had a bit more corn with the ratio to cream cheese and i though the dip with the roll needed a little piaz - a cheeseburger normally has mustard and the dip seems to be just ketchup and mayo-little too sweet for our taste. Staff is nice but extremely slow. It took well over 3 hours from drinks to meals and dessert. Food is decent but not anything I'd call memorable. Just a nice place for drinks and bites. We had the best lunch today and we can't wait to go back! Service was so good and patient, we met friends from NY on their way to a concert. The wine selection was wonderful, in love with Bonanza these days. Salad special was with blackened swordfish- could not have been better! Really amazing. Par took in the happy hour menu for my first visit here. Sat in the bar area, along the wall, on the nice comfy, couch lined booth. The tables are very small, don't order too much too fast. They are also very close to your neighbor. I had the charcuterie board, salmon tacos, chicken tacos, buffalo wings, and the tuna wontons. I suggest on skipping the charcuterie board. The meats were very tough and chewy. I was hoping for more than just two tuna wontons, but they were very tasty. The horse radish wasn't overpowering at all, and the tuna was very tender. The buffalo wings were extremely satisfying. They were large drums and flats, not the little baby ones you get at some places. The creamy blue cheese dip was a good quality. This and the tacos were the highlights of this visit. While the tacos could have been a little fuller, with the rest of the food that we had they were filling. We also had sangria, the blueberry lemonade and a rose. All were okay. This Rose wasn't sweet, it was more like a Pinot Grigio. The service was efficient, Pleasant, and I look forward to coming back to try the rest of the happy hour menu, along with their main menu. read more

The happy hr menu is great, we splurged on tacos, and all were great. The drinks are tasty, the bartenders mixing interesting concoctions, I mostly like the mocktails and seasonal beers. I haven't been back in forever and not much has changed, in a good way. We came on a Thurs and it was actually pretty busy. I will say we came as a party of two and they asked if we were ok sitting in the bar, and even later into the night it seemed like they were packing people into the bar versus sitting in the restaurant. Otherwise I got the same veggie burger as before. The burger is HUGE. Bigger than I remember. The flavor was just ok for me this time though. The bun, halloumi cheese and tahini were good though. I liked that I was able to customize the side and I chose broccoli. Service was fast and quick. Would recommend. They have a very diverse menu as well so everyone should be able to find something they like. read more

Grilled avocado was delicious. Never had grilled avocado. It's always has been cold and it was pretty tasty! Nothing special but it was good. My short ribs .. very tender and great in flavor! It was recommended by one of my Yelpie friends and then I couldn't make up My mind right before ordering but the eso also suggested it snd im glad I chose it. My friends fish and chip were good , she said but the Fries weren't crispy at all. Our waitress was pretty awesome! She always came and checked in with us. My friend and I wanted to try out a new spot so we decided to check out Bin228 since the menu looked appealing. We went on a Friday night and sat on the outside patio which was cute and had nice lighting. Our waitress was very nice, answered all of our questions. The food was very average. We both ordered drinks off the seasonal cocktail menu. I ordered a pumpkin manhattan which said it was supposed to have a large ice cube which is typical for this type of drink. Unfortunately it came out with regular ice cubes and started to get watery quickly. The waitress was able to get the ice swapped out with a large ice cube. We ordered 2 appetizers, the crab cake and the tater tot poutine. The crab cake tasted like a frozen fish stick and the poutine was unseasoned and had half a piece of bacon. Both were extremely underwhelming so we decided to go somewhere else for the entree. I can't say that I would recommend Bin228. read more

I went back for the french onion soup as I said I would and it did not disappoint! My friend got the corn chowder which she had last time. The soup here just hits the spot! This time I got to try a new seasonal cocktail and I really enjoyed my bourbon smash! My friend and the entire table next to us all ordered the harvest marg, they all seemed to like it. I love their seasonal cocktail lists, it makes you want to come back at least every season to try something new! Paninis were good, I'd come here for lunch and get either of these. Great salad! We tried out a new spot in Glastonbury and it was a hit! The ambiance was so modern and rustic, it had bench seating with big fluffy pillows, so comforting and relaxing. I had the Pear & Gorgonzola Salad which was mixed greens, slivered almonds, honey vinaigrette (gf). I subbed the Gorgonzola for Goat Cheese and it was a great choice! I recently visited Bin228 for an impromptu Friday lunch with my mother in law and very much enjoyed it. We were seated immediately at a table for two by the window which was great because it was a beautiful sunny day outside. Our waitress was lovely and helped us each decide on a glass of wine and we both loved our respective choices. We each chose the beet salad for our meal, mine with shrimp added, and I cannot express how delicious this salad was. The beets gave the salad that perfect earthy flavor and I will never stop thinking about the incredible goat cheese croquettes. I loved the light lemon truffle dressing on it and the watermelon radish added the perfect contrasting crunch. I will definitely be adding Bin228 to my regular rotation in town and it's the perfect spot for a nice lunch. read more

I had never been to Bin228 and met a coworker for dinner. The vibe is very cozy- almost but not quite a galley feel. There's a long banquette with tables and chairs on the opposite side where we sat. We ordered the roasted avocado and chips. It was absolutely delicious! It was as if it was guacamole only the avocado wasn't mixed already. The chips were also very yummy! I had a salad with salmon. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon to enjoy happy hour with two others. We got there around 4:30pm and were happy to be able to get a seat at the high top tables. The happy hour menu changes often so I wouldn't bother trying to find it online, and they sure do have a lot of options! There are wine, beer and cocktail options as well as many small plates. The regular menu also has some good sized appetizers to share with folks. I recommend the taro fries and the piri piri muscles! They were delicious. On a recent Sunday during the Apple Harvest Festival, my fiancé and I found ourselves here after a not so pleasant experience at another local restaurant. Besides the point, I'm so glad we ended up here instead. Last time I came here was several years ago for I came for a work happy hour. I don't know why I haven't been back other than I get stuck in a cycle of only going to the same few restaurants. Definitely will be adding Bin 228 Gastropub to the cycle now! We were greeted by a friendly host and were sat at a table on the front patio. The host presented us with their normal menu and a small menu of brunch options. The brunch menu looked like it was printed daily, so I'm assuming it's a daily special offering (or maybe just a Sunday thing). Everything on both menus looked great. I ended up ordering brunch a peach mimosa great but wasn't too peachy and the French toast sliders. My fiancé went for the chicken avocado panini which looked great. I stole a few fries since my plate didn't include a side (& they were the perfect combination of chewy, crunchy & salty). I appreciated that our server as attentive but also gave us plenty of time to pursue the menu and time to enjoy our meal. I look forward to going back and trying more of the menu! read more

If you're looking for a good date night place, don't go here. It was SO loud in there that I couldn't hear my wife sitting across from me. No, I'm not a sensitive Karen and being dramatic. We both got headaches from all the screaming from the two 8-top tables stuffed into a small room (where they squeezed in a 2-top against the wall) and decided to boxed our apps and leave. This place easily is louder than Buffalo Wild Wings on the game night. I don't blame the restaurant for its guests, who were clearly just non-self aware of anything going on around them. One guy had a vein popping out of his neck shouting to the person across from him.. why? We told the waitress and she said, "bussing tables in this room is brutal from the noise". Food wise. $70 for 2 martinis in plastic martini glasses not filled to the top, flavorless fondue with plain bread and (for some reason) 2 slimy asparagus stocks, and Bowl and Basket level flatbread with pulled pork tossed in a Jack Daniels Seasoning packet. Won't be back with places like The Beamhouse, Bricco Trattoria, or even Chic-Fill-A all within 5 mins of here. read more

We started with the Burrata and Beef Carpaccio. Both were fresh and light. The French Onion Soup was good, but tasted like a southwest soup? Like there was a taco packet in the soup... I enjoyed it but it didn't taste like French Onion Soup. The BBQ Pulled Pork Flatbread was messy but very flavorful. I've never had Buffalo Wings that were too hot until that night.
