The restaurant is nicely situated in beautiful downtown Hartford and was just stones throw away from popular hotel chains like Hilton and Marriott. The walk to get there wasn't bad at all. As soon as you walk in, your greeted and sat by the waitress. The restaurant reminded me of an anime, like a Japanese anime in a quasi futuristic yet elevated luxurious way. They have plenty of seating available at the sushi bar but the man bar with what appeared to be one bar tender, was full of patrons. I opted for a table because I had work to do as well while I waited for my food. My only negative would be that the quality of the service was significantly less because I was a solo diner at a table. The wait staff did focus all of their energy on patrons with 2 or more tops. So if your looking for a more well rounded experience, invite a friend or multiple so that you can get your water refilled in a timely manner, drinks, inquire about menu items ect. I ordered the dragon and avocado roll along with a chocolate cake. All were excellent which is why I rate this place a 4 out of 5. Parking: I walked on foot but didn't notice street parking. I did however notice that they had parking garages. I didnt ask if they validate parking but that would be something I would encourage you to call ahead and ask. Also, make a reservation here. It's easier than waiting for a spot to open up.

Our second time here!! This time for our 25th anniversary. Amazing once again!! Lucky enough to get the same server we had the first time!! Impeccable service! Love the dark and moody atmosphere, it's relaxing. Started with a perfect dirty martini made with a Japanese vodka ( can't remember the name) and a Davis Bynam Chardonnay. My husband had a bourbon. Fresh oysters were lovely. And the Otoro Caviar Roll was awesome! My husband had the porterhouse, he loved it and took half of it home( pretty sure that was intentional lol) and I opted for the Omakase. For dessert we had the Chocolate Lava cake and Ice cream. We will most definitely be back.

THIS KIMICHI FRIED RICE WAS ONE OF THE BEST IVE EVER HAD. So obviously I didn't have that much during my visit to Feng Chophouse, but let me tell you...I will 10/10 be returning because of the AMAZING service and the ambience there??? WOW. What a gorgeous date spot or even just wanting to having a special night--here's for another visit here SOON!!!

So good! Great happy hour menu. Drinks were like $6. Food was super cheap too! The rolls were like $7. I wasn't in the mood for a roll so I got a seaweed salad and spicy edamame (sooooooo good). The restaurant was really nice and cute for a date. Overall great and nice bartender!

Grabbed dinner for the first time in a few years! I can definitely say me and Feng got off on the wrong foot. We were seated in the back and I loved the decor. Super chic and modern, it definitely is one of the more upscale restaurants in Hartford. I ordered the calamari, dry aged steak and cheese, and the good fortune to drink. The good fortune was delicious, similar to a pina colada. The calamari was cooked well and wasn't rubbery or oily. I loved the sandwich! It was perfectly salted and the bread was very soft. I'm a sucker for French fries and specifically steak cut that have been cooked perfectly and have a little crisp. Service was attentive.

The food was amazing. One of the best restaurant steaks I've had in years. They have a pricey sake menu too if that strikes your fancy. The sushi was also so tender and delicious. I love that you can get some special items with gold leaf. The only negative was there was a big delay between getting our drinks and raw oysters and our entrees. However it was such a nice night with great cocktails we were fine waiting.

He liked these. I think one was the autumn in CT and the other ....

Came for my guys bday. Food n ambiance were great, service was kinda weird. Crostinis were super stale and when we told the server, she decided we didn't know what we were talking abt and explained to us what crostini is supposed to taste like, lol. I told her try one and flipped it over to expose mold. She then took it to the back and came back with toasted bread to let us know the staff decided I was right and they were in fact stale. Lol. He had a great bday but we won't be back.

We stopped by in the early evening to grab a cocktail and we were easily able to find a spot at the bar. The bartender was fantastic and offered to make us cocktails, one with Chambourd ( no specific drink listed on menu) and another with whiskey. The cocktails looked like magazine advertisements and tasted wonderful. Excellent service. The bar is gorgeous and the interior dining areas are dimly lit with beautiful wooden accent screens and simple yet elegant table and chairs. It feels upscale and sophisticated yet welcoming and relaxing. There is also a sushi bar seating area. The place was filled with patrons and the dishes being presented looked fresh and appealing. The restrooms were clean and tidy and there is on street parking. We will definitely be back soon to dine in.

Honestly such a great experience with great customer service. The restaurant is large and great ambiance. We started with the Shishito peppers, wacky, surf and surf dumplings, and crispy rock shrimp tempura. I loved the shishito peppers. The dumplings were quite good as well and the rock shrimp was good. A very large serving of the shrimp tempura was served. It wasn't my favorite of all the apps that we tried. The sushi rolls and nigiri are very fresh. I tried the chophouse roll and it was so delicious. My friends tried the otoro caviar roll, and angry dragon alongside nigiri pieces. I was told the chicken Katsu as well as the Seabass were very tasty I certainly will visit again once I'm in Connecticut

I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time! My friend and I went for lunch and thought the food was delicious! I had the botan ebi for an appetizer. It was fresh and delicious! I got the steak sandwich for my main and it was perfect for lunch! The shrimp tempura is plentiful and has a great crunch and flavor! Our waitress was exceptional and the decor was beautiful!

Nice time at Feng a month or so ago. Beautiful inside. I've been in the past years ago and remember it to be very nice. Cesar salad has manchego cheese from Cato corner farm which I love so that was different. Very nice. Sushi was good. Don't remember what roll I had. Can't speak for the salmon as I didn't have that and the edamame is good no matter where you get it. Nice wine list. Nice restaurant.

    Feng Chef Roll
    Daniel L.

This is an eclectic restaurant that brings together a true fusion of East and West. The best of food and some of the undesirable traits of the environments. Let's start with the food. The spicy edamame was very flavorful with a bit of spice, but not too much. There was fresh garlic slices as well. Yum! To keep the fusion fun and weird, we got a chopped salad and a Miso soup. Both were amazing. The chopped salad has pomegranate seeds which create a fun balance of textures and flavors. The sushi rolls were fantastic. The Feng Chef and Jalepeno rolls each had about 10 pieces and were flavorful. We kept our fusion strange with a side of Brussels sprouts, which were perfectly crunchy and seasoned. The service was very good with excellent communication. The downside was timing and noise. The bar was very loud and patrons were obnoxiously shouting at the TV, which belied the rest of the atmosphere. The sushi chefs were also backed up and it took a while to prepare the two rolls. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

Entire meal was fantastic. From the appetizers to the end of meal desserts. Not pictured were our drinks - the Lychee Martini & Full Bloom cocktail and also not pictured was the Lady M Chocolate Crepe dessert. Start to finish the staff was courtesy & attentive, especially our waiter Aaron, who with his help, brought my wife's Wedding anniversary ring out with dessert as a surprise. Highly recommend Feng as the food was perfect. My wife and I agreed that the filet and salmon are some of the best we've ordered anywhere. Money well spent and will be back.

They don't have their own restrooms; it is in the building (go down the stairs, then to the left under the stairs). They have AYCE and regular menu items. We came for AYCE, which you can order 3 rounds of, so make sure you order enough (but not too much, because you are charged for excessive leftovers). We only needed to order 2 rounds. They can get pretty busy, so it may take a bit to get your order, but they are good at making sure you get your whole order. The service is friendly as well. We ordered a large variety. The Age Tofu was pretty good as a general consensus, though most of the fried stuff was a bit too oily. The Kani Salad was pretty good (their spicy mayo is tasty). The fish is decent quality and fresh. Most of the sushi didn't have too much rice, which I liked. The rice held together well. Still, I prefered the "tataki" (sashimi with ponzu) over the sushi. I do wish they had a regular scallop sushi, as the spicy scallop sushi is a small piece of scallop with lots of spicy mayo and rice. The special rolls (we got Fancy Tuna, Enter the Dragon, Mango Tango and Spider Roll) are pretty heavy, as most of the flavor is from the sauces. You can order things without the dressing or sauces (see the house salad without dressing....yes, it's just lettuce lol) Make sure to save room for ice cream! They have Vanilla, Green Tea (Matcha), Strawberry, and Fried (Vanilla). The Green Tea is a really strong matcha, which I love! For $28/weekend adult pricing, it's a pretty good deal. Just make sure you leave time to sit and wait.

I had theur Black Manhattan, which was pretty amazing; I'm not usually a cocktail person, but I liked it enough to take a photo of the ingredient list, to make an attempt at making it myself at a later date. There was an appetizer with raw and cooked options; the tuna tacos were the star of the show. There waa only one minor negative. On the raw bar there were oysters and clams on the half shell. Unfortunately, they were only partially shucked; I had several, and every single one was still attached to the shell by the adductor muscle, making for a messy eating experience (I was wearing a jacket/tie, and didn't escape some spillage on my attire). If you're goinf to focus on raw preparations in your branding and advertising, this should be something to work on. I'd definitely come back, at least for that cocktail.
