Combo 1 - crawfish, shrimp and mussels
Sho R.

I took out lunch from here. I went for a combo 1 - shrimp, mussels and crawfish and combo 3 - king crab, shrimp and clams. Both were good. 1/2 pound king crab is only a single leg. Had I known, I would have gone for 1 pound. For sauce, I took the soho special sauce at fire level. Fire seems to be the right spice level for me.

As the kid threw us a tude we decided to go out on a date night. So since it was a Friday during lent we went towards seafood. To start we shared the fried calamari the coating was like that of an onion ring touch over cooked where a couple rings were rubbery but not tragic. The clam chowder was unexpectantly weird green in color with ALLOT of thyme and very little potatos or clams in it almost all broth. She had the hashbrown as well. My dinner was the sharkin Cajun sailors feast Cajun spice butter and old bay seasoning with crab legs, crawfish, clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage, corn, corn, potatoes and boiled egg. I have to say mine was delicious. The potato's were so good my wife ordered a side of potatoes with my sauce so she could have her own. We enjoyed our evening out and would return.

Teriyaki scallops and veggies (no rice) and fish and chips with sweet potato fries.

We wanted to find a place to eat where we could sit outside. I was a little concerned about road noise here but it was not a problem. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and my husband order fish and chips, I ordered the teriyaki scallops and veggies (no rice) special. There seemed to only be one waitress. Someone brought our calamari out but we didn't have plates or utensils. After several minutes, my husband went inside to get help. All of the food was ok - except the sweet potato fries were great. Nothing else was to write home about... I don't know if we will return.

I was looking for a raw bar near by and I stumbled on to this place. Without looking too much into the restaurant I said hey why not and it was a great choice. I got here on a Friday at happy hour (J didn't even realize it) and I was able to find a seat at the bar. I was greeted by friendly staff and attended too almost immediately. I decided to keep it light and order a few happy hour bites with some raw selection. Let's start with the best the raw oyster and clams were AMAZING! Todays picks were fresh, delicious, and not that small size where you know the shells haven't even fully developed. The happy hour app sizes were perfect. The edamame as someone who always orders it if I see it on the menu was delicious, light and perfectly salted. The spicy pepper had a nice kick but not too hot to take you out and the rock shrimp, might be my new favorite thing. I will definitely be coming back here. It's a nice quant area on the Berlin turnpike, cozy environment with a nice ambiance and the food speaks for it self. I'll definitely be coming back and I definitely recommend this place if you a see food lover. P.S. - the broil looked absolutely stunning and appetizing!

Stopped in for a late lunch early dinner. The place has a good look. Spaced out nicely and clean. Ordered the seafood gumbo soup, onion rings and calamari. Soup was nice and hot but didn't really have any flavor. Calamari was blah. Really no taste. Onion rings were good but a little over fried. Service was good. Little over priced. All in all it wasn't what I was hoping for. Won't be back.

Ok. I was surprised. By the name alone (boil) I was reluctant to come. Anything boils sounds bland. So I was wrong. Lots of food that is not boiled. Charcoaled, grilled, fried, steamed and yes some boiled. Surprisingly good. Had the charcoal grilled mixed grill plate (beef, shrimp, onion and peppers. Also the Gumbo soup. I'll attach a pic.

Boiled seafood!

Wow, I'm so glad that we stumbled upon Boiling Soho. Alex, our server was awesome! He was incredibly cheerful and helpful when it came to picking food and drinks. He even went above and beyond and brought out a free homemade dessert for my partners birthday! The food is insanely good and they don't skimp at all, we got the combo 3 and it was legitimately 15 pounds of boiled seafood and veggies! If you're in the area I highly suggest a visit!!

Their dress code is pretty much club wear, even in January. They are a bit more forgiving in the winter, because coats/not many people will wear stilettos with snow on the ground, but I saw plenty of bodycon dresses and jean/blazer/dress shoe combos on the men. It looks small from the outside but it's pretty spacious, there are a selection of small tables and white club couches in the front where the bar is, two unisex restrooms (which got SUPER filthy because people apparently don't know how to handle their liquor at 2pm on a Sunday) and then the back with the larger group tables and the "VIP" section with more white club couches. The music is pretty good, they play everything under the sun from the diaspora: Hiplife/Afro-beats, hip-hop/rap (mostly trap), R&B, reggae, even gospel and hip-hop remixes of gospel music. However, It is L O U D. As in, you can barely hear the person next to you without leaning uncomfortably close. As in, more than a few hair cells in your ears got damaged after dining here. As in, you can hear the party from down the block. I was genuinely surprised this place got zoned in residential neighborhood. Luckily, the food makes up for it. We had several things from their brunch menu (chicken and waffles, omelets, lobster mac and cheese, wings and fries, fish and chips, fish and grits, bottomless mimosas) and every item was a hit, no one left unsatisfied. Many people left with take away plates, so the portions are pretty generous. The prices are reasonable ($12-16/plate). As for vegan options, there are fries and a side of strawberries (sometimes you just have to make a meal of sides, ha). The fries were crispy and perfectly salted. I would have them again. If you are strict about cross contamination I probably wouldn't come here but I mean, you CAN eat. Would *I* come back again, probably not. But if you are looking for a good time with good food and also want to twerk a bit, Soulbaila has you covered.

I don't have any outdoor pictures, honestly because it was too cold, and I just ran in, then I ran to my car. It's an all glass establishment, I saw my friend sitting in the middle booth from my car. The inside is spacious with a variety of seating options. The wood tops on the tables and countertops give it a modern feel. This place is known for wings, I'm not a fan. Additionally, they have tacos, burgers, nachos and other bar food. I selected Lou's Fig Melt. This was a tasty, sweet sandwich. It was filled with cheddar, goat cheese, bacon and fig jam. The chips on the side were very salty, I wish I substituted them for something else. I enjoyed the sandwich. My friend got the Duck Confit Eggrolls. These are a unique twist on eggrolls. They are stuffed with very tender duck meat and mac & cheese. It had dip on the side. This had a few textures going on. Crispy and cool on the outside, hot, cheesy and tender on the inside. At Hop Haus you will find, a fun and lively atmosphere and some unique dining options.

We assumed the place would be packed as we headed in to watch the 1:00 game. But it was dead. Which we were kind of relieved because we weren't worried about finding a table but also kind of perplexed because any other place that serves wings on a Sunday during football season is bursting at the seams. We walked in and stood at the hostess station waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes and didn't see an employee at all. My husband finally just walked over to the bar area and spotted someone around the corner. He asked if we could sit and she was somewhat agreeable to the idea. Thankfully our server McKenna was a delight. She was attentive and efficient. The French onion soup was fantastic. The wings were fine but not as good as I remember. They used to have a crisp to them. Now they are just kind of soggy. The kids liked their chicken tenders although I thought it looked like they had been in the fryer a tad too long. I could get past all that except I can't overlook the lack of management and the terrible bartender. We observed multiple people come in and stand at the hostess station for excessive amounts of time before anyone bothered to greet them. There were people at the bar with empty drinks and the bartender was standing around the corner on her phone while people waited. It was just a bad movie unfolding before our eyes. It was an experience for sure. This place used to be and could be amazing - they just need better hands on management and something to draw the crowd in on Sundays. We might come back if we see any chatter about new management, but until then it's probably off our rotation.

When I first saw Guy Fieri's…read moreFlavortown Kitchen (operating out of a nearby Newington ghost kitchen) on DoorDash a few months ago, Flavortown benefitted from that good will and I ordered from them. Overall, I was not impressed, but since they were newer at the time, I gave them time to find their bearings before I tried again. Today, I needed quick turnaround on a DoorDash lunch delivery and Flavortown was one of the closest options. I ordered the "Real Cheezy Burger" and fries. The burger was below average in the area at its price point, and the fries had a different vibe that some may like and some may not like relative to more common fry styles. The burger came with cheddar, tomato, shredded lettuce, onion, pickles, "Donkey" sauce and "SMC" (?) and it was served on a garlic buttered brioche bun. The quickest way to describe its quality is that it's similar to the burgers served at casual dining national chain restaurants. I'm not sure what the "Real" in "Real Cheezy Burger" refers to. Both the burger meat and cheese seemed real, but it was not "very" cheesy if that's what they were going for. The biggest problem with the burger was that it had excessive char. The second biggest problem was that the meat texture and flavor fall short when I compare it to other area options I love at a similar price point. The Flavortown burger cost 11.99. My favorite specialty burger in the immediate area is much better and only costs $9.50. That makes for an easy decision. Other general area options I like much better are priced at $8, $11 and $13.79. The fries are steak fry-sized, but seem battered and super crispy. The good news is that the fries are so crispy, they are likely to stay crispy during delivery. The bad news is that this isn't one of my top three styles of fries. They didn't taste bad. I just don't prefer them. That's probably the last time I'll order from Flavortown given other area options.

The fries had zero flavor, the jalapeño poppers had barely any filling, the Mac and cheese was watery blandness. I took 2 bites and didn't finish the rest. I had high hopes for the burger, but the sauce was runny, the burger was soggy, and they didn't put the crunchy onions on it. My husband and I were both super disappointed and don't feel like it was worth the $82 at all.
