We tried Lola's for the first time on New Years Eve. We took out 4 treys of food. The food was fantastic. Lasagna, meatballs, penne and chicken parm were all very good. Everyone at our gathering loved the food. Many compliments were heard from our guests. Great service at pick up, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We stopped at Lola's for lunch while out running errands. Our meals were delicious. My husband and I both started with the onion soup and that was a meal in itself. We barely ate half of our entrees and took the leftovers home. Had them for lunch the next day and they were still delicious leftover! read more

I really had high hopes. Rest is in a dumpy industrial plaza. It just had to be a hidden gem. Meh, bland from the interior, to the waitstaff lackluster personalities to the food. Upon entering the place smells like musty basement carpet. And vaguely a cat scent permeates the area. Byob. I didnt see any soda on tables so there may be no option for carbonated soft drinks either. Water carafe brought to table had white flexs swirling around in it. Food was bland and wouldn't go back. Even the table house-made bread lacked a sourdough starter. Chicken piccata was loaded w capers and it shockingly extra lemony. Pork may have been boiled and marsala sauce ironically also tasted like lemon was infused into the sauté sauce. Not good. French onion soup was old because u can clearly see the onions have been sitting in broth in their walkin for far to long. read more

Allie was super helpful with making the booking, setting the menu and working through the details. Happy Anniversary Lola's! This is my go to restaurant. The food is always amazing. My favorite is the sesame crusted tuna. It's perfect every time. The servers are experienced with the main dining and there is a great spot for larger parties. I had an engagement party here and a luncheon after a funeral and they accommodated our group without knowing "exactly" how many guests would attend. BYOB is a bonus. read more

When we showed up they somehow had lost the reservation, but were very accommodating and got us a table anyway. Food was delicious, the portions were large.the staff was very friendly. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. A good friend suggested it and accompanied us to dinner. I concur with the comments regarding the exterior: the place looks on the verge of being abandoned. However, once inside, the environment is warm and inviting. The staff, in particular, is excellent. They are friendly and extremely efficient. I do not recall a more rapid preparation of and clearing of tables. Even so, one does not feel rushed. Menu choices range from well above average salads to a mixture of seafood and chicken dishes. One will find that the "Small plates" are quite large, thus requiring a reevaluation of the term: "small". We look forward to our next visit. read more

Had a good size take out order with all manner of food for 6 people; big salad, chicken sandwich, rigatoni bolognese (very well done), chicken Lola (always tasty), pork osso buco (fall off the bone flavorful) and their tremendous sausage stuffed mushrooms, plus side salads and bread. Located in the old GE factory, it's easy to miss. Don't! The menu is surprisingly good and very reasonable. I had the pork shank and it was fit for a neanderthal...that's a GOOD thing. !!! So far it's BYOB, so bring a bottle wine or some beer and enjoy. read more

Went here with friends for dinner. Small unassuming place, was blown away by the quality of the food! Nice general menu with seafood, pasta and lots of variety. We shared the mussel appetizers- was a huge bowl of steamed mussels in a flavorful red broth with chunks of chorizo and bread toasts. Glad there were three of us to eat it all! I ordered the veal osso bucco which was by far the best I've been served. Braised just right and fork tender, with lots of flavor. Roasted veggies were cooked just right with some crunch left- not overdone. Place is BYOB which we like- keeps bill down and you know you will like what you brought. We found this little gem while house hunting in Plainville. The wait staff were the best and so attentive. The meals that both of us had were terrific, and...the bread is made right on site and served with the best garlic hummus. Now we go back to Plainvile. Just to eat at Lola's. You really need reservations for dinner. Food is wonderful! BYOB. The decor was minimal but nicely done. It's a small place thus the reservation. They were very busy with a party in the large party room and a party of 12 in the main dining area. We had seafood dishes that were very fresh and delicious as were the eggplant fries. read more

Garbage unless you are over age of 60 I assume. First off this has more the look of banquet hall then restaurant. To explain simply, it's venue food. Which typically isn't good. It looks outdated on the inside and food is subpar. Tried the manicotti. It's def frozen. The rest of the food was boxed quickly because it was disgusting. Staff was fine but that's only compliment I can give. Was so so so disappointed. The reviews are garbage and not accurate. Last I will say this is an early bird special type place judging by the idea we were only people under 50 in this place besides staff!!! Biggest waste of $55 in my life. read more

Went here tonight and was not disappointed. Lola's was everything as promised and then some. All of our food was served very professionally and efficiently. Not rushed, but not a turtles pace. Portions were very generous., with great pricing. I would have given them a five star rating, except for the fact that the 2 sides were predetermined with no options. Being that I avoid as much starch as possible, no substitute for the potatoes was an issue for me. The BYOB feature is an added bonus. Certainly we will be back in the near future. read more

What a great place. I love value and it doesn't get better than this. From their homemade bread, to novel and delicious salads, to great sauce to large portions, this is a little gem in an almost hidden location. I believe it is worth a drive from almost anywhere in CT. To top all that off, the service from the moment you enter all through your meal to the time you leave, you are cared for, checked on and they will change menu items...all with friendly service. This is a gem hidden right in plain sight! I am still not going to restaurants due to covid, but they have a limited menu on the Door Dash site that I stumbled on. I ordered from them with instructions to make sure the pasta was al dente. They actually did it! Today is my birthday and I decided to order my dinner from them since it is a special day. I asked for my al-dente pasta making sure to let them know it was a special dinner due to my birthday so please make sure it came al-dente. They once again made sure AND added in a piece of cake with Happy Birthday written on the container. That was nice of them. The food is always 5 star. We had a great dinner here last night. Mom had a salad and my brother and I spit the stuffed mushrooms appetizer and the chicken Parmesan. We knew the portions would be large from a previous visit and they made no issue splitting the entree. Frosted glasses were brought over for our BYOB beers which was great. Chocolate cake for desert. Any time a restaurant is doing well without a liquor licence you know the food and service are good. Google Maps had us overshoot the entrance by 500' so be mindful. Large parking lot. You most definitely need a reservation for this small restaurant tucked away in a converted industrial park by GE. As we were waiting for another couple to arrive, a pair without reservations was trying to get seated. They were trying to pick their table and kept getting shot down. When we left, the restaurant was later completely filled. They are BYOB and have a cork fee. The menu has a wide range to cover most palates and interests. Our table ordered the small plate manicotti with french onion soup, cheeseburger, osso bucco, and the special black sea bass. The small plate manicotti was large enough to be a decent sized meal. The osso bucco and fish both came with the same sides. The menu says the dinners come with a house salad and two sides. It appeared all meals come with the same sides for any given night. For this one, it was sliced carrots, zucchini and mashed potatoes with skins. The osso bucco was large and was served bone-in. The fish was on the dry side to be made up with the tabbouleh salad that it accompanied. I focus on the side dishes because I think that they should compliment the main protein and not a one size fits all. Also, the mashed potatoes were bland. Additionally, they did not look appetizing at all but more like something you would see at a school lunch counter. In this regard, I think they could step up their game. read more

Lola's is an adorable little bistro, tucked into the most unlikely of spots. Don't let the industrial feeling of the building and parking lot fool you, though! The interior atmosphere is cozy and friendly. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices can't be beat. My date and I both got burgers, which were enormous, and wonderfully tasty. Unfortunately, their hours are on the earlier side. My date and I didn't realized they closed at 9:00, and stayed MUCH later than that talking. When we realized how late we had overstayed, we scurried out, but never once felt rushed by the staff. They were all so friendly and pleasant throughout. We'll definitely be back -- and probably with a bottle of wine, to take advantage of their BYOB policy! read more

What drove me to post a review was the excellent and friendly service of Siana and the great care to sanitize the tables, chairs, doorhandles, etc. It shows that they care about the health of their customers and themselves.
