We had a team Christmas get together here we were assigned one waitress to wait on 35 people we bought 300 wings and gave everyone to drink tickets. I never had to wait for anything. The wings were outstanding. I'm sorry I didn't get a picture. The service was beyond excellent the prices were very cheap. I can't say enough good things about this place! read more

If you're in the area and looking for a place to have drinks & apps with friends- this is your place. The drink menu is extensive with local beers, wine, cocktails, mocktails. I had an alcohol free Moscow Mule and it was delicious. There's plenty of food options as well: burgers, salads, sandwiches and chicken wings (25+ sauce choices). The bartender was friendly & helpful, plus there were TVs everywhere to watch sports. It's casual and fun. read more

The original location, and the one that started it all. If you're looking for a casual sports bar with great food and plenty of beers, this is it. With J. Timothy's close by, they've got some competition in the wing department, but Sliders stands tall. The traditional wings are incredible, the boneless ones are generously-sized, and I'm really curious about the mycoprotein vegetarian wings (I'm sure Sliders nailed it). If you're not into wings, I've tried a few other things and I've never had a bad dish here. The draft list offers the usual favorites and plenty of local flavor, with a variety of cans as well. The Plainville location has a tough parking lot to navigate, especially in the snow, and then you need to find the door (it's on the opposite side of most of the parking spots). It feels a bit cramped on the inside, though the walkways and tables offer plenty of room. That being said, it's a Sliders, and it's been *the* Sliders for thirty-two years. Don't mess with a winning formula. read more

I've been to all but one Sliders location and have always had GREAT experiences ... except in Plainville, where the atrocious bartender handed me a Happy Hour menu, then putzed around for a while, checked her phone, and didn't come back to me until well after Happy Hour ended, then said I couldn't order off that menu. Then forgot my beer. When food did arrive, wings and fries were undercooked. read more

I honestly don't know how this place has decent ratings because my experience was terrible from start to finish. We waited almost 30 minutes just to be acknowledged, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. The server seemed annoyed that we were there and barely checked on us the entire time To make it worse, the tables were sticky, the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in hours, and the bathrooms were in rough shape ON TOP OF THAT!!! A RAT CAME RUNNING ACROSS THE DINNING ROOM FLOOR. This is absolutely disgusting I can't believe it read more

Call it nostalgia, call it my love for anything maple, or just call it what it is...Sliders Grill & Bar is just a solid place for chicken.I was in Connecticut for a weekend visiting my family and we settled on ordering some chicken for my final lunch in the state. I used to frequent both the Plantsville and Wallingford locations when I was a resident many years ago, so I was pretty excited to see what time has done to this Connecticut chicken chain. We ended up ordering some french fries, onion rings, and pretzels to share while I ordered the maple/bacon boneless wings to eat myself. We placed out order around 11:30AM and were able to pick it up only twenty minutes later, which is pretty darn good in my book. Did it live up to my own mental hype? French Fries- Pretty standard fries, nothing to really talk about, I enjoyed them for what they were. Onion Rings- I was a big fan of these onion rings. They were the perfect consistency of kind of doughy (if this even makes sense as a description) but still tasty. Pretzels- These were okay, pretty standard bar style pretzel with plenty of salt to do the trick. Maple/Bacon Boneless Wings- I thought the flavour on the maple/bacon boneless wings were pretty good. The chicken itself was juicy and thanks to the sauce it was dipped in, and of course the small chunks of bacon, this chicken filled me up and tasted pretty good while doing it. Overall, Sliders Grill & Bar is a solid place to stop and grab some wings in Connecticut. Are you going to have the best wings ever here? No, but sometimes you just want to hangout and devour some wings and this place will help you do that. Solid service, solid food, come give them a shot. read more

I honestly had no idea what to expect from Sliders. I went after a movie got out, so it was dark. But they were one of the few places with a kitchen still open so sure, why not wander by myself into the gray restaurant abutting a hill next to the highway? I was pleasantly surprised by the interior, never judge a restaurant by its outdoor lighting. It's very modern and clean, but must be rowdy as all get out on game day. There's several divided areas to sit and eat, and a bar in the middle. TVs are everywhere, each was set to a different sporting channel. The sound of birds tweeting is audible under the other noise - finally figured out the sound is coming from a golf game in the corner of the dinning room! No real birds are hanging around. The cheeseburger was warm and the cheese gooey. The fires had a good crisp, but take them to go and get something more unique to their menu. The Mexican street corn fritters had a great kick to them, and the dipping sauce worked great with their flavors. The server was very attentive and answered all my questions, it was great service! read more

We have visited the various Slider's locations occasionally over the years. Never had a bad experience. This year my husband decided this was the place he wanted to go for his birthday. Definitely didn't disappoint. We wanted to order everything off the menu since it all looked so good. The service was great. Every time we go we always mention how we would love a location closer to home aka Greater Danbury area as this would be a weekly go to for us. read more

Came here with a friend on a Saturday night for some food and definitely walked out happy. We shared the Mac Daddy Tots and I had the Buffalo Parmesan boneless wings. The tots were unbelievable. The toppings were all perfect and accented the tater tots so well. Our waitress was so attentive and very friendly, great service. The atmosphere is very typical sports bar, tvs everywhere with all sorts of games on. Very casual and comfortable. I will certainly come back for those tots! read more

Hate to do it because I really loved Sliders but will be needing to lower the score a bit. Since my last review we've been back a handful of times with each visit getting worse and worse. Now while the quality of the food has been up and down nothing has been inedible or just downright not good until now. This review is just on the food and accuracy of the order. As I said there's been some ups and downs with Slider's which is to be expected with any restaurant but last night's order was truly a disappointment. Two orders of the mac&cheese, Slider's original burger and some PB&J Chicken Sliders. All of which we've had before so I figured we were safe. Nope. The Mac & Cheese, which was the worst of it, was thrown out. Just barely warm with actual colder spots which leads me to believe this was not fresh and possibly microwaved. The description said that it had a crust of cheese fish crackers. My dinner determined that THAT was a lie. No crust at all, cold spots and off flavor. Burger was pretty plain Jane, nothing special about it. It wasn't bad it's just nothing stood out. Not even the beef was tasty which is odd because Slider's has some fantastic burgers. PB&J Sliders were a huge disappointment. Whoever prepped these forgot to add the jelly and there was barely any PB on them so what I received was little dry lumps of disappointment. I was craving these Sliders too because I loved them last time. Given that the last few times have just been MEH and this time being NOT GOOD I think I'm going to have to take a break from here. As expensive as everything is right now the money just isn't there to waste on sub par food. read more

Had high hope for this establishment. Left work late in the evening today ..stopped by on my way hope to grabs drink& food. Very disappointed w/service received. The bar tender totally ignored me(8pm). She missed out on a hefty tip. The young man with dreads/braids who brought my food had more customer service than she did. She was horrible spent more time w/white folks than she did w/me ..made me very uncomfortable. ..2023 & still confronting racism.. I would not support this restaurant.for people of color..hope this is just an isolated incident. But she doesn't belong in that position. read more

We just left and feel compelled to leave a review. We have eaten here before and it was always ok, not great. This time, however, the food was terrible, the service was terrible and the atmosphere was terrible. The service was slow and we awaited quite a while to order drinks even. Then when we finally got our food, we had to go find our own utensils and napkins. the food was subpar even compared to our past visits. We were also missing one entree that wasn't delivered until after we ate the rest of the food. We asked the host about the missing entree and he was completely rude and said he was just the host. We get it, but as the host it would be appropriate to deliver a message to the server for us, as she was nowhere to be found. The music was so ridiculously loud everyone in the restaurant was screaming over each other. We won't visit again and waste our money. Completely unimpressed. read more

What I can say, we have been coming to Sliders for years. I really like the General Tso flavors for wings but also have ordered plenty other flavors. My boyfriend was craving wings and suggested we go to Sliders. So, naturally, off we went! This was my first time ever going to Sliders. We were seated almost instantly which is always a plus. Our waitress was very nice, super accommodating. Wings were pretty good, I did enjoy the fact that they let you choose EXACTLY how well done you want them out of four options, unlike other places where "well done" can be a broad concept. My absolute favorite part of the meal honestly though, was the appetizer. We got the empanadas and my goodnesssssss. Delicious! Filled with steak and cheese, seasoned well, topped with pickled onions and a nice creamy avocado dipping sauce. Game changer. It came with five so disregard there only being two in the picture, we just couldn't resist long enough for a photo! read more

I mean, what can you say about Sliders?!! When it comes to wings in Connecticut this place is ALWAYS listed (and rightly so) among the very cream of the crop. We are on a mission to eat at all the wing places in the state, but we like to get back to Sliders multiple times! We recently ate their Traditional Buffalo (of course), Buffalo Bacon Ranch (ooooo), General Tso, Kicked up Cayenne, and their Lemon Pepper Dry Rub. All were completely off the hook, but the Lemon Pepper and General Tso were "next level" good that day. Their wing menu is HUGE, so we have a lot more visiting to do. Sliders (all their locations) is amazing and we recommend it 5 star! No question about it. read more

Was the day of the ACC Championship game (Clemson won) We had onion rings, Pretzels, Nachos, burgers, fries, and lots of liquid refreshments. Everything was good and came to the table spiffy quick!! I would have given a 5 star rating but our waitress seemed to keep trying to turn the table over (i.e. get us to get our checks and get out) we were drinking, we kept ordering food, and she kept want to know if we wanted anything else. Been supporting Sliders for years. Ordered food on a slammed Saturday night for pick-up - mix up with the order. Shit happens, I caught it before I left. Staff was super courteous about it, and Manager (missed his name in the crowd sounds - I'm 1/2 deaf) went above and beyond to fix it. Truly thank you, and full support to the crew at Sliders for fixing it. EDIT: Forgot to add this, but it literally felt like I blinked after talking with the manager and was given my order. Obviously it took the time to cook, etc., but I'm grateful the order was prioritized - it truly felt like no time at all between talking with the manager and driving away with my delicious order! read more

My friend and I went on a nice hike and craved wings on the way back home. I haven't been to sliders in a while and decided to stop by. It was in the afternoon so no reservations were required and we were seated right away. I love that their wings are not battered as I'm gluten intolerant and my friend is on a Keto diet. I wish their sauces were clarify identified as gluten free or not but I made do just fine on my own lol! I really like that they have so many different options for sauces! They also have options for how you want your chicken cooked ie. regular, well done, extra well done. I decided to go with honey chipotle for my wings and they were crispy, savor and flavorful- I just wish I had a little more sauce. Pro tip if you want to add a little more heat ask for the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce yum!!! They also offer sweet potato fries, curly fries, salads and deserts! I think the prices are fair and I would love to eat there again! Would have loved a little music in the background but nice clean area and waiters wear their masks! read more

This makes me sad because I didn't want to downgrade my favorite wings place but I have to do it. The price increase and the "can't smile" not so friendly staff just makes me want to avoid this place. Mind you I love grabbing wings from this place anytime I have to pick up wings. I don't mind dinning in either, I've had attentive service when the staff is young. My last visit will most likely be my last visit for a long time until I somehow get coaxed into returning. I went in to pick up an order of wings for someone last week. I made my order at least 20 plus minutes prior to arriving. It was Happy Hour, the place is busy yes, yes, I understand staff can be overwhelmed. I stand under the "take out" order sign and wait to be helped. There were a few staff members in and out of the bar station. The one lady (curly blond hair) who does help me was rather rude. I give her my name and she appeared so annoyed, was my name too complicated for her or was she unhappy with the size of my order? I can't give you an answer, but I know regardless I'm a paying customer! She searches for my order and appears to be in great distress. After much searching she finds a bag under "Shawn" and not "Sanh". She remarks in a rather unpleasant tone "It's under Shawn". Does she expect me to respond to that? Is it my fault I have a unique name? Should I order under the name Sasha next time? Really I wasn't bothered by that comment it was her overall "what do you want" attitude. Mind you, there wasn't a HUGE pile of take-out orders. At the moment my tiny bag of 12 wings was the ONLY order visible to me. I'm aware everyone is entitled to a bad day but if you work in customer service, when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed you better turn around and change that attitude into a positive one prior to coming to work. Think of all of the customers who will have experience her negativity, especially during happy hour. read more

Used to love this place, but the service has fallen off dramatically. Been there twice in the past two months or so and the wait times for basic food items are terrible. That being said, the food is pretty good, but the last time we ordered nachos, they came out cold, like they had been sitting around for a while in the kitchen. It's just a shame, because I thought they were getting things back on track, but the wait staff needs improvement. read more

The food is what it is. It's a chain wing place. Way better than a Buffalo Wild Wings or something dumb like that. I go every Sunday afternoon and I always sit in section where a waitress named Tina works. She is very professional and as soon as she sees your drink low trust me you won't have to get her attention to fill ya up. I've had other servers there and they can be rude or just lazy. I love when there are 4 of them standing together doing nothing and texting while right there in the floor. I'm sorry but no cell phones should ever be allowed or seen by your servers on the floor. That comes down to management. On an average day I would give this place 3 stars but when our waitress Tina is on she just makes your experience more pleasurable read more

Disclaimer: I've only been to this spot once, but my experience was so odd/unique/uncomfortable that I feel like I should share my story for an explanation of my rating (and just because I feel like it). It was a dark and stormy night (literally), and I was in town for an event at a nearby college with a group of 6. We wanted to stop by for a quick bite and a drink somewhere before heading to the event, and we found this spot. It was just before 5pm when we got there, and we had to be at the event at 6:45, which seemed ample time for the burgers and salads we intended to eat. We ordered our drinks and food, a relatively painless experience. About 15 minutes after we ordered, the storm got stronger and a power line down the street came down, causing about 3/4 of the restaurant to lose power. Essentially the only light we had in the area we were sitting was from the TV's, other than that it was completely dark. No one came around to tell us what was going on, or if the power in the kitchen was down, but I wasn't particularly worried because it was still so early. All the wait staff congregated at the front of the restaurant and just seemed to be chatting about what was happening, still no one checked on us or any of the other guests. Eventually after about probably 20 minutes of this I flagged our waitress down (by literally standing up and waving to her from across the space) and she told us the kitchen was fine and our food should be out soon. Another 15 minutes later, we got our food at around 6, the power still almost completely out, and the only light we have to see/eat our food with is the TV which makes it very hard to eat our meals. Once we were done eating, I again flagged the waitress over to tell her we needed to pay, it was around 6:25 and we had about a 15 minute drive, so we gave her the card and she went to check us out. As if our luck wasn't bad enough already, in the exact moment that she was getting ready to swipe the card, the power in the remainder of the restaurant went out and the credit card system was down. She immediately rushed away, and I had to follow her to let her know that we had an event to get to, and asked if there was anything we could do. She grabbed her manager, and I again explained to him that we had an event to go to, not enough cash on us to cover the bill, and that this was obviously an uncomfortable situation to be in. I proceeded to offer to leave a set of car keys with him as collateral and a promise that we would return in a few hours after our event, and we would bring cash incase the machine was still down, because we had extra cars and could leave one behind. He proceeded to tell me that he could not do that and that he had spoken to his regional manager and they had directed him to take down the credit card numbers of the customers to be charged later when the power was back. Now Im not aware of what the rules are in CT, but regardless of that I don't know that anyone in their right mind would write down their credit card information and just leave it....and for a restaurant to request that is absolutely ridiculous!! After a bit of back and forth with the manager where I let him know that I was not at all comfortable in doing so, one of my friends remembered she had her checkbook with her in her car, so she grabbed a check and we could finally leave, now a little bit late for our event. Heres my problem with what happened...Obviously this was an unfortunate situation for everyone involved, theres nothing you can do when a power line goes out to make it come back and I am fully aware of that, however the way that the staff handled the whole situation was horrible. No one ever gave us any information on what was happening, our waitress seemed to be trying to avoid us and any questions we had, and the manager was ridiculous in requesting we write down our credit card info and just hand it to him to keep, not to mention he was notably rude to me when doing so. I would also like to note that no amount was ever taken off our bill even though we had to sit in the dark for almost our entire experience there, and although I am fully aware that it was not the restaurants fault that this happened, it was their fault that the entire situation was so poorly managed. The unfortunate thing is that Im certain that had the power not gone out that night, our experience here would have been absolutely fine, which is why I am giving two stars instead of one. I guess it takes unlikely moments like these for it to truly become clear that there is a problem in the management of a restaurant. read more

Food was terribly cold tonight and I'm not one to complain much but honestly the kitchen has no fault to that. I think the waitresses need to be more mindful when the food is done and to get it out at a timely matter no one goes out to eat Luke warm/ cold food . I've worked in restaurants and know how it goes. You should never wait until all the food is done to bring out together if there is no warmer on it.
