My brother and I were super hungry and was looking for something close by. Luckily, we bumped into 99 Restaurants! We were greeted with such good energy when we walked in and had the option to sit in many of places but opted for the bar so we could see the TV better. The Bartender was so friendly and we helped us immediately. We both got the Sam Adams winter ale, which is such a good beer! For my meal I ordered the fried chicken plate which came with mash, corn and biscuit.. it was so good. Everything was seasoned well and it was a decent portion for the price we paid. In town for a wedding and my family took us here for dinner. Restaurant was clean and not very busy for dinner time. I ordered sirloin tips with grilled onions, a side salad and steamed broccoli. They brought my salad first. It was alright. Nothing to brag about. I ordered my steak medium. It came well done. I also felt like the portion of steamed broccoli was very small. An easy location to get to with lots of parking. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly. Our server was very nice and attentive. A large menu with a lot of options. As part of our birthday celebration weekend, my hubby and I ventured over to the 99 Restaurant in Bristol only to be so delighted with our entire dining experience. For starters, you just can't beat the popcorn, the best ever. My hubby ordered a new buffalo chicken item they had on the menu and I had balsamic chicken both of which were just delicious. The highlight of the visit, however, was our incredible server, Lorraine. This young lady had the most vibrant, pleasant people personality of any wait staff I have encountered in a lifetime. She was so quick to serve and even quicker to want to please but her overall presentation was just delightful beyond words. She was not only friendly and sweet but funny and playful and was just the perfect touch of class for our first birthday weekend celebration dinner out. Though it is a restaurant chain, I would be remiss were I not to say that the atmosphere in the restaurant was so comfortable and clean and yes the food was delicious and affordable and our server Lorraine was the absolute best. She even insisted on bringing over strawberry shortcake for us, on the house, to finalize our birthday dinner. The last few visits, the portions are smaller and tonight my burger was under cooked. In the background, I could hear the manager argue with our server that i didn't know what medium was. It was raw inside and only half eaten. They offered a free petite dessert which I declined. This is my first time testing this restaurant chain out. I'm from NY so I've never had 99 but I can say this place gave me a great first experience. I want to start by saying that the service itself was good, but that girl needs to find someplace that serves actual edible food to their patrons. I ordered the steak tips and tenders combo. I was severely disappointed. 4 sirloin tips that were more burnt than actually cooked, and 4 "tenders" that were no longer than 2 inches a piece and burnt so hard I almost cracked a tooth. Not to mention a prime rib, which used to be the main attraction here, that was visibly old and beyond tough. Overall everything about the place was disappointing aside from the service. Not coming back any time soon. We started with the boneless Buffalo wings and potato skins. The chicken was average but the potato skins were quite good. My wife and the birthday son had the all American burger with fries. Both were done just as requested and both were enjoyed. My other son and I got the tips and chicken tenders with fries. The tips were very good and again the chicken was average. So my boyfriend and I are frequent customers at various 99 Restaurants. Last night we decided to visit the one in Bristol. Our waitress was great! Her name was Nevaeh. She was quite attentive and checked often enough to make sure we were happy. We ordered the seafood studies as an appetizer. I happened to see a small white piece of a shell sticking out of my stuffie. I just took it out and placed it on a napkin. Then I ordered a strawberry martini. It was not as pictured. Seems mind was missing the strawberry that should have been hung in the side of the martini glass. Also, it looked as if the glass wasn't as full as it could be. Anyway, the salads we ordered were tasty, but I did notice a light brownish color hair on the plate. Not too sure that I'll be going back there again. read more

This is one of the better chain restaurants in the area! I've never had a bad experience here. The food has always been good and the wait staff well trained and friendly. Kristina, our waitress on our last visit, was exceptional! The Shrimp Flatbread was simple but tasty! The Braised Short Rib Tacos were excellent! The presentation could have been a little better! Their curbside pick up & online ordering was PERFECT! Online ordering was literally beyond simple - you can schedule for a specific time or of course ASAP & it gives you options to add or remove everything that is in the dish which is a huge plus for picky eaters like myself. We scheduled for 30 minutes out & the food was brought out on time to our car - no waiting or wondering if it was sitting there getting soggy & gross. It is a 5 out of 5 on that part but a 3 out of 5 on the actual food so I met in the middle with a 4! (This is a pandemic after all - seamless curbside is of the utmost importance!) Reason for the 3/5 on food: This is the 2nd time I ordered the black bean burger & the 2nd time it was overcooked. I ordered a meal from the (c-19 BS plandemic) take out menu with a friend who insisted she had to have their food. For $9.99 I got the double seafood with coleslaw. The portion of seafood was so tiny I burst out laughing when I opened the container. They only allowed one side so I got coleslaw. It was dry, obviously very stale. They've revamped their menu since the last time I ate here and I have to say I was a bit impressed with the quality of food. I usually play it safe with "chain" places and order a burger. I ordered the "Stadium Burger" which is a mix of Italian sausage and ground beef, topped with provolone cheese and peppers. There is also a homemade mustard which I have to say was my favorite part of the sandwich! It was very good and I'd definitely order it again. It was comparable to a class 'sausage and peppers' grinder, but in burger format. For starters, we got the Caprese flatbread which was good, although I would have preferred more mozzarella and less Balsamic sauce (I felt it was a little too sweet, but it was good nonetheless) My boyfriend got the Bubble Green Tea for his beverage, and to my delight, it was actually quite refreshing! (Not sure how Bubble Green Tea fits into the restaurant menu, but it's still a good choice for something a bit different) The dessert menu was a bit lacking - nothing on it that I really wanted to try. A true tried and true classic in my town, a place I would go and annoy the staff with my teenage antics, a place where I sat at the forbidden bar, only made legal with a guardian present. Fast forward ten years, and I'm really glad this place has updated some parts of it and of course, an updated, modern menu. Popcorn is still mandatory on each table (yessss). The food was still good. We had burgers, steaks, chicken tenders and french onion soup. We all enjoyed the French onion soup, and I had no complaints on anything else. Typical franchise food made right. I am not happy with 99. I went to dine in at about 7pm tonight, 1/28/19. It was fairly packed. A family walked in before us, and we walked in second. Their standing area in front of the host that will seat you is pretty small. Now, a third party would enter, and we're clustered tightly in the entryway, nowhere else to really go. Well over 5 minutes passed. I counted at least 7 employees back in the kitchen that looked over in our direction, yet no one came. The absurdity hit me and I said, 'Okay, no.' And I left. Won't be back for a while. More than 5 minutes is too long to acknowledge, and it's worse when you have nowhere to really go, while the staff gawks in and no one comes to greet. read more

99 is a hit or a miss. This is another place that my family likes and I have gone there a lot. It's a little pricey for the kind of restaurant it is. The food is OK, and when something isn't cooked properly the wait staff takes care of it without drama. It is efficient and the food is good without being spectacular. It isn't really homey like the Oasis down the street, but it has its own charm. Sometimes it is tough to get into the place. However, you don't have to wait too long to be seated. I never say "wow" after eating here, but I have never said anything bad about it either. So it is just A-OK for casual dining. I thought about giving it 4 stars, because other members in my family really love the place. But after all, this review is really my call. read more
