Stayed in the connected hotel as a part of a wedding guest stay. The two evenings I came here I had really good service. Even though one night was busy because it was post wedding. They have a really good local cider on tap. The spicy chicken / boneless buffalo wings were really good. the fried mozzarella and the nachos were just average. The breakfast buffet was pretty normal- nothing to be excited about except they had waffle makers. I thought it was included with the room because it looks like a normal continental breakfast and I didn't order anything off the menu- but i just charged it to my dad's room. The Timeout sports bar is more than a sports bar, its also the house restaurant for the Doubletree Hotel. As a Sports Bar, it sure is impressive -it has one of the largest TV screens I have seen in quite a while and the crowd seemed pretty lively in there Saturday night. If your hotel stay includes a breakfast, as ours did, this is where you will eat. Our hotel breakfast was served buffet style in the far end of Timeout. We saw the usual hot trays of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and French toast. There was a nice selection of yogurt, fruits, hot and cold cereal, juice, pastries, and breads. There was neither an omelet station nor a waffle maker, things you pretty much see at most hotel buffets. You could order some freshly made dishes a la carte off the menu if you wanted to. At $18 I thought it was pretty pricey- for that much I would expect to see an omelet station or some smoked salmon out there on the buffet table !!. read more

I've been here 3 times in the last couple of months for Friday night outdoor music event on the patio. I have very mixed reviews all 3 times, but I only had one visit where we had good service. The first 2 times the food was good, This time I was disappointed. The charcuterie board is good, the calamari is too as well as the wings. Things that could use improvement are the chicken quesadillas, I had to eat it with a fork and knife because there was so very little cheddar (even though the menu says Monterey Jack) cheese to hold it together. There were so much more red onions than chicken I could only eat 2 wedges of this for fear of heartburn. The tomato, mozzarella & basil salad we had on visit 2 contained very ripe mushy tomatoes, and the Asian lettuce wraps why doesn't the menu mention that in the middle of a pandemic I have to assemble these myself at my table. The drinks are above average price and the service is down right losing this establishment money! Two out of 3 visits it was a half hour wait in between ordering and receiving our drinks, my crew can put down a good 4 drinks at least because we roll with a designated driver on a Friday night. We only had 2-3 drinks each because of the wait time. Tonight we wanted to order more food after the appetizers but our waitress was so busy running around and never stopped to ask if we wanted more food or drinks, she had to be flagged down to get our check and we waited another 1/2 hour for that process to be completed. This place can be very prosperous if they tune the service part of the front of the house and put a little quality control in place in the kitchen. read more

I stayed at the hotel this restaurant is located within for a night while in town for work. To be honest, any time I see that my hotel has a restaurant, I usually will eat there, but in a grin-and-bear-it sort of way. Needless to say, when I stopped down for a late lunch after checking in, my expectations were low. I sat down and made idle chat with the bartender, and that's when I found out that this is the go-to hotel for everyone visiting ESPN down the road. Obviously, this was gonna be good. I ordered the chicken caprese panini with sweet potato fries and a craft beer. What you'd usually get from a Hilton restaurant is some pre-packaged, reheated chicken. Not here. Everything was so fresh and so yummy. Even the *cheese* was better than many restaurants I visit. I never finish fries with my meals, but I sure did here. So, I had to come back for dinner. This time, I opted to sit outside and listen to live music. Note: only a partial menu and shortened drink list are available out there. I ordered the spinach and berry salad and the garlic hummus. Holy fresh! I was about ready to roll out of my chair after attempting to eat it all, and it was almost entirely vegetables! They really know how to work seasonal ingredients here. The pesto on the hummus was also a nice touch. My colleagues and I visit this area frequently, so I'm very happy to have a new place to eat/sleep where I feel well taken care of! read more

This is strictly a drink based review. I came here on business and had a Long Island iced tea, a dirty martini (with extra olives, of course!), one of their cocktail specials and a margarita. Overall, the drinks were pretty good. The bartender that served us was very personable and fun to be around. And she made one of the strongest Long Island iced teas I've ever had. The only reason I am not giving a 5th star is because I did not try any food. But I do highly recommend trying their drinks! read more

Timeout Sports Bar was a great time before this COVID virus, and it continues to be an even better place now. The atmosphere is inviting, relaxed, and as fun as it can be during these challenging times. The Food is top shelf, their commitment to good food has not lost a step. I happen to be a Vegan, and they have the answer to that, as the food is delicious and wholesome so for me, it's a matter of taking away meat and dairy, which seemed to offer the staff little challenges. Service was GREAT. Our server was Corina C, and she really was pleasant, welcoming and upbeat (even while having to wear a mask). Remember to Tip generously, the waitstaff has a difficult function, and to be pleasant during these times is a special quality. read more

Came in for food and drinks after hearing that a new chef took over in January. In the past, I had a couple of bad experiences with inconsistent food quality, but really wanted to support my local businesses. I ordered the Creekstone Farm's TOSB Burger, medium-rare with a side salad. The burger was excellent and perfectly cooked and was seriously on par with Max Burger, Plan B, or any other high-end burger place around the State. The salad was good too with pickled red onions and mesclun greens. To drink, I was psyched to see they had some High West Campfire whiskey in stock. It's my favorite go-to blend. Service was extremely friendly, honest, and attentive. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to check out the other items on the menu. For now, however, I'm confident in saying that this is by-far the best burger in town and the new chef has this place headed in the right direction. read more

We started with buffalo wings which were very good. However, they came out only a minute before our burgers and were not cooked well done as requested. I had a TOSB Burger. Again, it was very good except it was a bit under-spiced and the habanero BBQ sauce was just a dab. A very generous portion of shoestring fries were excellent while they stayed hot. This is a great place to go for excellent food and a relaxing atmosphere. We are fairly local and don't think of going to a hotel restaurant but we'll be here regularly! Wow the food here is very fresh and cooked perfectly. Hats off to the chef! I had a very juicy burger, perfectly cooked to medium well. Perfectly cooked and salted French fries. The margaritas were great! My companion had the housemade papperdelle with shrimp. Best cooked shrimp I ever had, not chewy at all, and the papperdelle was cooked perfectly al-dente. The service was a little slow not due to the waiters fault, maybe they were short staffed. But the food and drinks definitely made up for it. I'll definitely be back! read more

The TimeOut Sports Bar inside the Double Tree by Hilton in Bristol is good for what it is - a bar inside of a hotel room - but it could be SO much better. For those not in the know, the Double Tree is where ESPN sends athletes and celebrities who travel to Bristol for the company's "Car Wash" (appearing on a variety of shows such as SportsCenter). The hotel as a whole has been majorly upgraded ever since its time as the Radisson and Clarion hotels, which I believe was part of the deal with ESPN to make it their go-to hotel (full disclosure - I work at ESPN but never have to stay there for anything since I live in Bristol already). The bar has a really cool vibe inside, and you never know what athletes or celebrities might be sitting in there to get food or a drink during their stay in town. As much as a good vibe and a nice-looking bar can do for a place, I can't say I was all that thrilled with the food or drinks I've had the couple times I've been there. The overall look and vibe of the bar bumps it up from 2 to 3 stars for me, but like I said before, it could be SO much more. read more

Our party ordered the bison burger, and pulled pork sandwich, the food was decent but not spectacular, their featured fries consist of fries with parmesan powder on them, really wish I ordered the onion rings instead. Stopped in based on Yelp reviews for drinks and apps. The renovations (Clarion to Doubletree) are quite nice and the bar is attractive and contemporary. The drinks were fabulous and the food deelish but what really made it was the bartender. Attentive, accommodating, good conversationalist and overall great bartender. Addressed our concerns about our orders and made different "fun" drinks for other patrons on color requests!! It is pricey- not akin to the area sports bars- it is reflective of a hotel bar- along those lines it is also fancier. And... Empty. Just tried this place and loved it!! It's very trendy (funky chairs) and upbeat. Great service. It's in the hotel, but right there when you walk in. Plus, unlike a lot of bars it's open all the time. We had dinner here inside Friday evening to escape the heat (still had no power then!) Our server was responsible for the majority of the tables inside and he was PHENOMENAL! I don't think the restaurant expected such a large turn out and he handled the rush of patrons with such a good attitude. He was extremely busy, but we never had to waive him down and our glasses were never empty. Food was great as well (I'm still thinking about that goat cheese flatbread). We will certainly be back. I was in town recently on business and staying at the hotel. I went in to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere and great happy hour. I ended up hanging out watching the game with great company. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up there again the next night. Was able to attend the Elite Yelp event held at the Willows within the hotel that was an absolutely incredible spread!they did a fantastic job. With a few friends stopped into the bar for wine. House Pinot was very good. Atmosphere is very upscale and updated. Bartender was super nice. We did not order food but what did come out looked amazing at the table next to us. The bartender said that they make a blu burger that will beat any Plan-B burger any day.... So we shall see. Look forward to returning. read more

Terrible experience having lunch at Time Out. Incredibly slow (10 minutes before any menu, 25 minutes between ordering and food arriving). Food severely undercooked and food does not match menu's listed items. Onions on an American traditional hamburger does not mean onion jam. read more

I'd heard that the burger here was as good as Plan B's from both the management at Time Out and from a couple of fellow Yelpers. I enjoyed my meal there on St. Patty's Day and I was anxious to see how the burger stood up to Plan B's which is my favorite. After further review Plan B is still the champion in my book (and in my stomach). I found the burger to be a bit dry at Time Out and I did not enjoy the over toasted dried out bun. Overall the burger was okay but not a substitute for Plan B. Still some other items on the menu there that I'd like to try and I will report back once I have. read more

She lives in Naugatuck and I live in Bristol (Both working in Hartford) so we decided to swing by here on our way back from work. So my coworker & I used to come here a lot, until one night this certain bartender was bartending asked for my id & I gave it to her, she had the audacity to say it was fake. I mentioned how I have been there multiple times no problem & now a problem. I recently moved from Florida so my licenses is out of state & so are my license plate. I then continued to tell her that if she needed to see my license plate too she could have I was parked outside. I understand a bartender is doing her job but this was a little extreme then she started to say I was under age. How could a bartender start something with a guest all because of a Florida ID. Another thing is that this bar is in a hotel where people fly & stay from all around the country my car wasn't the only one with a Florida license plate out there which I'm sure that means I'm not the only one with a Florida ID that comes to sit at the bar. I gave this post a 3 star because of her & how rude she is I would have actually gave it a 1 star but coming to this place the atmosphere is good & so are the other staff memebers it's literally just this one lady & it's so sad I even spoke to the manger & she even said the id was valid ? So now why not serve me ? Is is because of discrimination or just because I look super young ? So many questions. Then when I also sat at the bar she mentioned she was going to take a picture of me ? I told her ok go ahead. I'm still not understanding what's the issue ???????? If I am of age & id is real ? How could you continue to treat the guest at the bar like this. Great to have this hidden gem available at a convenient location. Just down true street from Southington and few miles off the highway. 5 flat screen tvs to watch sports. The hotel is right next to ESPN so you will tend to see ESPN noteworthy people in town. Happy hour is awesome with $2 off draft beers $5 who use wines and $2 bar bites that change regularly. The selection of liquor is great and draft beer is decent. Their patio is scheduled to open at the end of May and I really can't wait to enjoy outdoor drinking in a new location. read more
