Home of Dirt Wings JJ was my server. 5 star service!! Ask for JJ if you are dining in. He pays attention to detail! Always choose dessert first so you don't miss out getting full. Coconut Cake did not disappoint! Shoe-sting fried onions paired so well with my Spicy Dirt Wings!! Double dipped in the fryer is what makes the wings dirty. So delicious and crunchy. Yumm Childhood nostalgia was exactly the way I remembered it!

A justifiable locally revered American Classic, this massive restaurant is one of the biggest I've ever seen outside of Texas, and certainly in the North East. Located on a busy stroad in a proudly blue collar stetech of CT, housed in a gargantuan Colonial Era Tavern that's presumably been expanded in the intervening eras that nonetheless gloriously shows every one of its many years of age, old school checkerboard tablecloths, dark wood and lived in atmosphere. Think a New England roadhouse and you start to get the general vibe. Service is always courteous and fast and the huge place seemingly employs a sizable number of local youth due to its size and scale. I'm a sucker for great wings, the now foundational American dish of which truly exceptional versions of are far more difficult to find than one would assume, and the ones here are both exceptional and unique. Perfectly sized and reliably crispy, especially if you take them up on the house speciality of preparing them "dirt style" wherein they receive a second post-causing trip in the fryer. While I'm partial to the classic buffalo sauce, the house specialty of hot and ccs sauce combined is also quite tasty when given the dirt treatment. The rest of the menu continues with other excellent versions of Classic Americana in food form like an equally locally famous perfectly executed French onion soup, and a nourishing chicken pot pie with an oversize buttery and flaky pastry top dwarfing it's serving dish with it's xl circumference,. I've never had a chance to try the massive prime rib that you see gracing more tables than not but I very much hope to on some future visit.

Came here with a group of friends and ordered wings and some drinks. Wings are delicious. I always get them dirty style. And our drinks were good too. Staff is friendly here and services are fast. The prices are fair. This place does get very busy on the weekend.

    J. Timothy's never misses! The buffalo dirt wings hit every time, so good. The seat-yourself upstairs section is such a cozy little spot to hang and enjoy. Service is always on point and everything came out super fast, we were in and out even on a busy Sunday afternoon.

I stopped by J Timothy's recently to see what all the hype was about. We started with the nachos, which honestly weren't very impressive -- I wish we had gone with a different appetizer. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a good spot for a casual dinner with friends or family. They're known for their "dirt-style" wings, which are fried and sauced, then fried and sauced again. My boyfriend really enjoyed his buffalo wings, but my honey BBQ wings tasted a bit burnt. I know they're double-fried, but even my boyfriend tried mine and agreed they were noticeably more charred compared to his. The service was good overall; I just don't know if I left feeling thoroughly impressed.

Best wings in the state, no question. Their dirt-style wings are unmatched. Buffalo is my go-to, but Honey Gold is a very close second. They also have a great draft list and an overall lively vibe. Honestly, anything you order is going to be solid, and their nachos might be my favorite of all time. My one complaint: you can't make a reservation. A few times I've had to go elsewhere because the wait was too long. But when you can get in, it's absolutely worth it.

    J. Timothy's has been our favorite wings in CT for years! We've even been to Buffalo, and the wings up there don't come close to J. Timothy's. Such a tasty sauce and always cooked perfectly! Their tavern food is always delicious, and we enjoyed their seasonal cocktails on a recent visit. The staff are attentive and friendly. Love their gift shop too, it made for an easy gift for my father-in-law! I can't wait for many more trips back!

Another amazing meal! Our server, Bevin, was friendly, knowledgeable and quick! The onion straws are so delicious, the loaded tater tots were super yummy and those sweet chili wings are outstanding! Great place, got in quick, hot delicious food! The only thing was that I ordered the big salad for the 4 of us to share but the amount of dressing was so little . I could have had more for another $1.25.... So I forgot to get pictures- but we were hungry!

Love the dirt style wings! So crispy and flavorful I got 2 (6) piece. Honey BBQ and Sweet Chili. First time getting the honey BBQ wings and they had honey mustard, not regular honey. Not what was expected but very tasty! Definitely a new favorite Can't go wrong with a cookie either. Peanut Butter cup

One of my top wing spots in CT. The dirt wings are so crispy and flavorful. There can often be a long wait list but it's definitely worth the wait. This is a can't miss spot!

    Tailgate Pretzel
    Dallas A.

As a mega pretzel fan, I thought the Tailgate Pretzel here was solid (4-stars) and a great shareable appetizer. The buffalo chicken tenders were other-worldly: absolute perfection from first bite to last in terms of flavor and, in my opinion, the perfect level of heat. Would 100% come back again for the chicken tenders. Restaurant seems to be a very popular spot, as even on a weeknight, the only place we could sit without a wait was at the bar. Wasn't a problem for us, but keep in mind if you have a larger party or want to get a table for your group.

I've been so excited to try their food. I attended a beautiful private event here in their event room that holds about 70ish people. The room is gorgeous with round tables, great lighting and our own private bar that's not serving the rest of the restaurant. I saw the wings on Food Network. Yes, they're delicious but it's an hour away from me. I wouldn't drive out for just the wings. We had chicken Francise, roasted garlic potatoes, penne a la vodka, vegetable medley and a salad. Food was okay, a little bland for me but I'm not sure if it's because they cooked it in bulk. I'll have to try it again on a date night and reevaluate. Drinks were all great. My favorite was the dragonfruit margarita! Great selection of beers as well. The staff is WONDERFUL! They were so attentive and accommodating. I mentioned it was warm in the room and the ceiling fans and air conditioning was turned on immediately. It was 100+ degrees out and they had the AC on but it needed an extra push. I was super happy about that because most places wouldn't care but they did! The restaurant is tavern style with wood beams and plenty of dining areas. A full bar for the entire restaurant and another smaller bar for the private room.

fun sports bar type environment-- solid wings (dirt style is great) and the crispy onion straws pair well with the wings! We preferred the buffalo to the barbecue, but both were great. Very nice service and this spot was recommended by multiple native Connecticut folks. Similar wing taste to that of pluckers! Cheers!

I had the Pot Pie, and the Shepherd's Pie.

Fork and Fire has an upscale Gastropub sort of vibe and offers an eclectic menu. My family and I visited on a Sunday around lunch time. Fork and Fire only offered their Brunch Menu at the time, which I didn't know. I was in more of a lunch mood, but they let me order the Black and Burger off the later menu, which was very nice. Not all cheeseburgers feature melty slices. The Black and Blue Burger featured Crumbled Blue Cheese, Pickled Red Onions, Smoked Bacon and Chipotle Aioli, on Toasted Brioche. The burger was huge and well cooked. So juicy it dripped. A flavor bomb. I also ordered the famous Kitchen Sink wings for the table, along with a side of Blue Cheese AND Ranch. The wings were super juicy. Top Tier Juicy. But the outer texture was still appropriately crisp. The sauce was sweet and savory, with a little bit of heat. Great wings. And the side sauces were terrific too. Service was very good. The atmosphere was terrific. Everyone enjoyed their orders. 4.5 Stars

Just functional. I was there on an NFL Sunday. There were lots of regulars. There was good interaction with the staff. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who was the only person working the bar and waiting on the tables was amazing. She was super friendly to everyone. She hustled to meet everyone's needs. It wouldn't surprise me if she is an owner too. It's hard to find people, who aren't owners, who are that committed. I asked for a wing flavor recommendation and she said "Montreal Honey" first. I ordered 6. The wings are part-baked and then finished in a fryer. Good inner and outer texture. The Montreal Seasoning was right on. The Honey didn't have much of a presence either visually or flavor-wise. More was needed to balance the salt from the Montreal Seasoning and to justify the Honey in the name. I tried both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch. I'd recommend the Blue Cheese. I'll definitely return to try more wing flavors. I also ordered a crock of chili, which was full of ground beef and topped with melted cheddar and chopped red onions. The chili was solid. I'd probably try something else before I ordered it again though. I'm a fan of Hideaway and I'll be back. 4.25 Stars

I would definitely order again. We also ordered the Cajun tacos which were also very flavorful and good balance of flavors. Would also order again. For our entrees, I ordered the Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese with truffle fries. It was so delicious. I love that it was on sourdough bread and the cheddar cheese (I think it was cheddar) made every bite just so good. The fries were not the truffle that I was expecting. Instead of oil I think they used a seasoning so it was a little salty but I found that I couldn't stop eating them. My boyfriend ordered the bacon burger with pork belly and massive onion rings. He did say that he wish he ordered what I got and he said the pork belly was a little too crispy for his liking. Overall, I would recommend Five Corners Bistro.
