Went here to celebrate Mother's Day & a birthday and got seated in about 20 minutes (they were BUSY). The hostess' and servers were all so kind and friendly, lovely ladies! We were so impressed that we got our order to a T - my uncle likes dry toast and my aunt like less cheese - because it was so busy and sometimes things like that slip through but everything was perfect and delicious! There was live music as well and the vibes were all around just incredible it felt like a true community place. We've already declared it our new go to spot! Thanks everyone for such a great start to our day!!

My friends and I stopped by Uncle D's Diner on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We were seated immediately, and greeted by some very kind and pleasant employees. The selection of food was wonderful, and reasonably priced. I got the sausage, gravy, and biscuits (which comes with home fries and two eggs served any style). It was delicious! The biscuit was buttery and soft, the sausage patties on top were great, the gravy was delicious. My friend got the eggs benedict which was wonderful as well. The place itself is a cute diner, quick service, delicious food.

Can't believe it's taken me this long to stop in and have breakfast here. My daughter and I came here this morning and I had the Irish Benedict, she had the special snores pancake. Our server, Amanda, was nice enough to make her a kids portion since she ended up eating half of one pancake and there was no way she would have eaten a full stack. The Irish benny was honestly the best I ever had. I finished the whole thing and wish I could have eaten all the home fries as well. They were crispy and delicious mixed with the hollandaise sauce and ketchup I smeared them in. Have to mention also the diner vibes were on point with the red glossy, comfy booths. There was even a live singer signing all the popular tunes. 10/10 would definitely and will definitely return. Thanks Uncle D!

Last year, when Yankee Magazine listed Uncle D's as one of the 20 best diners in New England, it was only a matter of time. Made the trip yesterday with friend, Demanding Dan. Ample parking, tucked on the far side of a little strip mall. First impressions very positive with the neon lighting, and cool messages in the windows. Classic diner w stainless steel, red stools, and checkerboard floor. We chose one of the few booths open, and Amanda led the way w menus, and took drink orders. DD chose a 3 item omelet (sausage, bacon, and American cheese). I am a huge CBH fan, and ordered the CBH omelet w cheddar. Both orders came w home fries and toast included. DD raved about his omelet...especially loaded w sausage coins. I've had CBH from literally hundreds of places around the country, and Uncle D's is in my top 5. Moist, stringy, chunks of corned beef. And a generous amount. Even the home fries were very good ... lightly seasoned (I detected paprika, garlic powder, and seasoned salt, but just faintly). And Amanda...she was the absolute best! Very efficient, personable, just a gem. And a blood donor! (don't ask). I've been to most of Yankee Magazine's top 20 list. While I don't agree with all, I absolutely agree w including Uncle D's. 5 delicious stars!

After getting over a case of RBS, I've recently become a big fan of Uncle D's Diner. What's RBS? Restaurant Blinder Syndrome. It's where something about you or your history prevents you from seeing a restaurant for what it really is. Usually, RBS makes you think a place is better than it is. That college pizza place that you thought was great? In reality, it's just pretty good, but the great memories that go along with that pizza make it seem better. In the case of Uncle D's Diner, I had Reverse RBS. This is a strange admission for a Foodie, but I don't like going to breakfast on weekend mornings. I like the food. I don't love the crowds and lines though. Uncle D's Diner has been an occasional family meeting place for weekend breakfast for the past several years. I don't remember ever having a bad experience with the food or the service, but Uncle D's is packed with people on weekend mornings. It prevented me from seeing what is true -- Uncle D's is a terrific diner. We moved over the Summer and I now live about 5 minutes from Uncle D's. After seeing some positive press (Newengland.com Top 20 New England Diner; Yelp Top CT Restaurant lists) about Uncle D's, I recently decided to try Uncle D's for a solo weekday Work From Home Lunch. That is much more my speed. My first experience was so positive, that I've already returned. The second visit was as good as the first. Uncle D's has a well loved classic diner feel. On both visits, it was busy for weekday lunch, but it wasn't weekend breakfast crazy busy. I found seats at the counter both times and I had plenty of room. Service was fantastic both visits. The crew works as a team. Service is friendly, efficient and effective. Both of my meals were diner-perfect. Over my two visits, I've had a turkey melt, a club sandwich with turkey and ham, fries, Portuguese Sausage soup and cole slaw. The club was perfectly executed. The ingredients were great and well put together. Same with the turkey melt. The turkey was so good that I wondered whether it was roasted in house, but they told me it's Boar's Head. That's high quality though. The soup tasted like somebody's family recipe. The coleslaw, which is often an afterthought in restaurants, was very good. Uncle D's Diner has my strong recommendation in the category of CT Diners. If you're a diner person, it's worth driving out of your way for. Also, I'm not sure if they still do this, but I can remember them offering Neil's Donuts to my son, nephew and niece during those family breakfasts. Great touch! Five Stars

Retro dinner with classic american breakfasts! Had the best reviews in the area so I had to try it! Making a selection was tough as all the options looked great! Went with the biscuit & gravy w scrambled eggs & the california bennys. They also make really good espresso. Service was quick & friendly. Make sure to ask about daily specials.

First time experiencing this place. Different choices of coffee which I really enjoy. Food was very filling and made just to order, especially my over easy and over medium eggs! Definitely will return

A surprising little diner with great food and great ambiance! Well, that was quite a welcome change of pace. Girlfriend was out this way for some soccer and we were up early enough to get some breakfast. So we found this place pretty well reviewed and made our way here. The place was packed, lots of folks and lots of food flying out of the kitchen. Was actually kind of impressive the efficiency of this place. I saw a few giant boxes of neil's donuts and a big display of their recent donut haul. Being a fan of neil's, I had to opt for one of their coconut frosted to share. Fresh, light, a little sweet but not too much. The perfect little bite to start us off. Wasn't until a few minutes of waiting that we realized that the background music was an actual guy with a guitar playing off to the side and another man was painting murals on the other end. Was an interesting sight to see and experience. it was a small diner with it's own community. It was pretty neat to see and witness. They don't have great coffee, so I opted for water instead. I got their apple cream stuffed french toast, which was one of their specials. Girlfriend got the corned beef hash with eggs. Food came out pretty quick, and I took pics and dug in. The french toast worried me when it came out. namely I saw the egg ring and thought this was going to be another dry bread affair. But nope, the french toast was nice and custardy with ample amounts of sweetened mascarpone with chunks of fully cooked apple dissolving away into the cream. A very solid bite for sure. The sausage was pretty tasty and interestingly portrayed. we got quizzed on if we ordered a steak or not, but it was just the side of sausage. The corned beef hash was fresh, with ample amounts of properly seasoned and tender corned beef with just a little bit of potato to bind things together. that coupled with the soft and pillowy eggs made the bite very memorable. Overall, this is my new bar when it comes to diners. It's good food done well, with pride and passion for what they can do and highlighting the best of the best for the stuff they can't. It's a super-busy location, but they've earned that through their actions and choices. This is a diner I can get behind, and I wholeheartedly recommend them as a place to trek to if you can.

My toddler and I stopped by for lunch on a hot day after hiking nearby on a Thursday afrernoon and we were hungry! This place holds nostalgia of diners past with classic metal framed restaurant, vinyl booths with coatracks, classic counter with bolted down stools. Loved the homage to Americana! We were seated quickly and the staff were very attentive and checked in often with us throughout our visit. The menu is pretty standard diner offerings with a few twists (i.e. tacos and wings). That being said the both the breakfast and lunch menus were EXTENSIVE! If you are vegetarian this place does not have a plethora of options, but there are several meat free offerings. The kids menu is pretty short on offerings, but hey $5 for a sizeable grilled cheese and fries and they have chocolate milk? You will get over it. I leaned into the meat offerings and had the burger special ($14.99), which I believe was called the sweet hot burger with sauted onions and mushrooms, Siracha mayo, bacon. The burger had that perfect diner juicy mildly greasy griddle taste (not a bad thing it was perfectly cooked!) and was so flavorful. The bacon was thick, crispy, and lean. All the fixings blended perfectly together for a delicious satisfying meal and the serving size is ample. You can probably finish the plate, but I decided to leave a few fries for later. Fries are steak style, came out hot, and had nice light pepper seasoning. My kiddo's grilled cheese was perfectly executed with nice toasted bread and melted cheesy interior. All in all given inflation pricing was very reasonable for the total meal. My *only* critique is that while the tables, plates, utensils were clean the booths had significant dust and crumbs in between the seats and when my toddler accidentally dropped his fork under the table when I went to retrieve it the floor well let's just say it could use a scrub as it hasn't seen a cleaning product in probably some time. Needless to say I am definitely a fan of Uncle D's and if we are in the area will definitely be back for another family friendly, soul enriching, tummy filling meal that can only be achieved from a diner driven dining experience.

There were TVs around showing the NFL Draft and UFL, which was nice to have to keep up to date on sports. The person I was with did wonder why the Knicks playoff game wasn't on, though. I ordered the Oven Roasted Norwegian salmon, and it was excellent. Really crisp on the outside while staying moist inside, it was exactly I like it. It was served over a bed of fresh vegetables with a salsa verde sauce that tied everything together really well. For dessert, I got the cheesecake. It looked small at first, but it was very filling. It came with a strawberry and a side of fresh whipped cream. The flavor was a little unique, not as sweet as I expected, but it worked really well. The service was good throughout the night, too. Our waiter was very friendly and kept us updated throughout the meal on when our food would be coming, which I appreciated. Altogether, this was a really solid experience and I would go back.

It was a really good size and I ended up taking half of it back with me, something tells me it's gonna be even better the next day as most Italian food is. My one regret is that I didn't order the lemon cheesecake to go.
