Chicken Medallions with risotto and seasonal vegetables
    Jessica M.

We've been coming to Luce's for a few years when we're in town visiting family. We've been with my parents and for a date night. Everything we've had has been good from the calamari to the stuffed grilled eggplant to the burrata salad apps. For entrees we've enjoyed the gnocchi, the chicken medallions and the salmon. My mom always enjoys the sea bass which has been a special a few times I've been. The restaurant itself is nice, and the seating is spacious and there are big windows overlooking Main Street. The night we went was the tree lighting, and it was fun seeing people walk by dressed up for Christmas. We'll continue to make this on our short list as everything we've had has been delicious, the space is relaxing and there's plenty of parking in their own dedicated lot.

I have to tell you, I think Luce is about to be a new favorite spot of mine in Middletown. I've always driven by and my friend has gotten lunch from here, but we've both never gotten dinner from here and decided we'd check this off our bucket list and stop by for dinner time. We kicked off with their tasty Tableside bread and wow does the olive oil pack a punch with the peppers they have infused in it. I had a tiramisu martini and she had a glass of wine and we both loved the drinks. She then went with the duck and I couldn't resist the chicken medallions with the risotto because I can never pass up a good risotto. Can confirm this one was beyond delish and I took the rest home because I wanted to save room for dessert and that's the only reason why or I'd have been rolling myself out of the restaurant. For dessert I went with the chocolate lava cake and man the amount of ice cream and whipped cream they gave with this was perfection and made my Midwest heart happy. Loved it here and cannot wait to visit again.

I went to meet a couple of friends at Luce in Middletown for lunch. I've passed by Luce, many times in the past, but I have never gone inside. They have their own parking lot, which is so nice, as for most places in the area parking on the street is the only option. Luce has a beautiful outdoor patio, in the shade and surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. They have white table cloths on the tables outside. Our waiter was lovely, he came to check up on us several times. At first we were busy catching up, and then we looked at the menus. I got the Roasted Beet Salad, my friends each got the Luce salad. This salad was so fresh, rich, nutritious and colorful. The beet slices were very generous, there were also apple slices, very fresh goat cheese, and candied walnuts. My friends also enjoyed their salad. The Luce salad is one I would likely get the next time I visit. We followed with cappuccinos and a slice of Tiramisu. This was an excellent slice of the freshest house made Tiramisu. It was so creamy, fluffy and absolutely delicious! We had a great lunch at Luce, and will be returning soon.

STUNNING restaurant with FABULOUS food!!! We had my brother's rehearsal dinner here and it was incredible. I loved my espresso martini and aperol spritz. The appetizer with thinly sliced eggplant, sauce, and cheese blew me away. The fish and chicken were perfectly cooked on our entrees. I was so impressed!!! You won't regret coming here.

Anniversary dinner, we had a quiet and pleasant night. Ambiance was good, service ok, To bad we couldn't admire the fire place, it wasn't cold enough for it. The restaurant has a beautiful and a very well lit patio. I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn't because the waitress forgot to place the order for my dish and I have to share my husbands dinner.

    10 oz Filet Mignon

Honestly, just kind of middle of the line italian food. The food wasn't spectacular, I had a 10oz filet mignon that came with 4 baby potatoes and 1 piece of broccoli. Not really worth it for $60. My friends got the italian sausage crumble penne and said 9/10, someone else got the spinach gnocchi and said 7/10. The drinks saved the dinner in leaps and bounds. Good wine selection, really good cocktails and our service was above standard so that was nice too. Saving the worst for last, the oysters were gross. Wasn't told where they were from which is odd. Tasted like frozen oysters if that's even a thing

We attended a birthday dinner here on Saturday, February10, 2024. Although the restaurant filled up, we were treated like the only party in the house. The food, the service and the ambiance was top notch. We have dined here before, both indoors and out in the tent, but I must say, this establishment ages like a fine wine. Elegant atmosphere and It just keeps Improving in decor and menu options. Even the food presentation is artful. The new sunroom is a nice addition and gives more space for parking in the lot.

I think it's about time for an update to my previous review 6 years ago. I have becoming to this establishment every so often for celebrations or when other friends and family are craving Luce, but I've never really recommended it. This past Friday my parents daughter and I tried it out and everything was delicious! Everything! My daughter and I shared the ribeye and it was humongous delicious and perfectly cooked. My parents both got the sea bass special and were blown away. It should be on the main menu cause I took a bite and loved it as well. Thank you Luce for making our night so memorable. Now I can't wait to come back and will start to make this my own recommended spots whenever I'm in the area!

This is a side of pasta with vodka sauce.

We stopped at Luce today for dinner. What a great experience such a classy restaurant . The service was amazing. The food was delicious. They also have outside dining with a bar. I decided to have a glass of wine after looking at the wonderful wine list. I had Luce combo which was veal with Jumbo shrimp in a Brandy sauce. They definitely didn't skimp on the veal, and the shrimp was done perfectly. My husband had veal scampi with portobello mushrooms, leeks and roasted potatoes. We were so happy with our meals. For an appetizer we had the stuffed eggplant with ricotta because it was grilled it wasn't heavy .I would definitely order that again. If you haven't tried Luce you definitely need to put it on your list. You won't be disappointed.

    Homemade Meat Canelloni. Stellar!

Excellent, attentive, prompt, knowledgeable, friendly service. Felt very personal and as if you were sitting in a friend's home. Could not ask for more. Sat outside under the large permanent tent with tons of colorful plants. Was very comfortable and spacious. Lots of emergency vehicle sirens, was kind of funny and relatively amusing. There were four of us and between us we had Clams Casino, Crispy Calamari and Chicken Sausage appetizers. All were excellent, fresh, hot, perfectly spiced, large portions, delicious! For entrees we had Strip Steak, Ribeye, Luce Combo and Homemade Cannelloni. I had the Cannelloni and it was truly one of the best, if not THE best, I've ever had in my life. It was thick and rich, clearly homemade fresh marinara, chewy pasta, browned in the salamander (broiler). Oh man, it was incredible! Others at the table commented on how delicious their meals were and we all proved it by virtually licking our plates. Generous and much appreciated pour pour on the Cabernet Sauvignon I ordered which was very reasonably priced and from a stellar vineyard and from a very good year. Perfect! Value for the quality and quantity of food, service and atmosphere is unquestionable. It's hard to get a full 5 star rating from me, but Luce Restaurant earned every point on each star. I would absolutely go back without hesitation and maybe without even looking at other restaurants in the area if I were to return to that part of the country. I highly (highly!) recommend Luce Restaurant and look forward to returning.

Lovely outdoor space and wonderful unpretentiousness service. Good portions and well executed food. A bit heavy handed with the salt, but not as overseasoned as the last meal I had in another restaurant thankfully.

We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks on the patio the night before our wedding. Sammy was great to work with to ensure our dinner went smoothly as well as welcome drinks. The food came out hot and the portions were perfect. The stuffed eggplant was everyone's favorite as well as the sausage rigatoni. We had the best night can't thank Sammy enough for helping to make this happen!

I liked how the server first checked to see if we had any time restraints along with food allergies, etc. Speaking of the food. We started with the clam chowder and scallops. The chowder was the best I've ever had. Plenty of meat and seasoned perfectly. The scallops were amazing. The manager later told us that the scallops were the only thing that had been on the menu since day one. They tried to rotate them off once and the people went nuts. We moved on to the duck and salmon. Both were delicious. Sides were perfect as well. I'd love to write about dessert, but unfortunately, we were stuffed. They looked good, but that will have to wait until next time.

We went to this place for Mother's Day brunch, and it was one of the worst experiences I could have…read moreimagined. First off, the ambience of the place is fairly nice though you would not know it from how many of the other patrons choose to attire themselves. If you're looking for a upscale, dining experience, other patrons would suggest this is not the place for you. They started off by attending to put us at the wrong table per our reservation. The table was apparently filled, and they moved us to a different table, which was perfectly fine as it was a nice booth with a window right next to the table. They then gave us several menus from which to choose, which was confusing as there were so many different menus with similar food options, including brunch, menu, a burger, menu, a dinner menu, a Mother's Day, special menu, and the regular menu. There were also two separate drink menus. We started by ordering some drinks and an appetizer of the meat and cheeseboard for the table. We put in our full order at just before 12:59 PM and the meat and cheeseboard came out fairly quick. Overall, it was the best part of our time at the restaurant. With regards to our main meal, we had ordered an eggs, Benedict, a children's pancake and bacon, special, and a steak and eggs meal. That was apparently a mistake as it took them over one hour six minutes before the food hit the table and when it did, it was a mess. The medium rare steak was cooked to a well done with the eggs being extremely messy and not very runny for over easy. The potatoes were dark and charred in places, but we're not crispy by any stretch of the imagination. The Canadian bacon had not been rendered well on the eggs Benedict and one of the two poached eggs clearly had not been poached appropriately. Also, my daughter indicated that the syrup was way too sweet, which was especially surprising as she is someone with a sweet tooth. The pancakes themselves were extremely dense and unfair and served on a plastic tray missing one of the size that was supposed to come with the order. It is clear that the kitchen does not know what they are doing as I was the second person in a row to have issues with the cook temperature on my steak, a problem that appears to carry over to other aspects of the meal as well. At the one hour mark, I've been so frustrated. I had requested to speak with a manager and he was actually the one who brought out the food to our table. There was a good four minute gap between two of the meals being brought out and the third meal, which is what my wife had ordered for her Mother's Day brunch. By the time the eggs Benedict came out, I showed the manager my stake and eggs, and he agreed that it was cooked to a well done rather than the medium rare I had ordered. I had overheard the exact same issue on the next table over where the older woman had not gotten her meal until nearly all seven others at the table had completed their food. At that point, I sent back my steak and indicated I did not want it to be remade as I was done with the place. Shirley, thereafter, I was clear the rest of the family was of the same mind as the meals were a mess and cooked improperly. The manager eventually came over and indicated that he is going to take care of the entire CHUCK which makes sense sense more than 75% of the food ordered had been uneaten or inedible. The service was no better as waiters and waitresses would walk by and failed to refill empty water glasses, even though they would look right at the empty water glass and would have pictures of water in their hand at times. One waitress went to five separate tables around us, including table she was not serving and failed to fill our water, but filled water at other tables. Our waiter was also missing an action for a good portion of the meal. Despite having the meal taken care of, I did leave a small tip for the waiter, though nowhere near what I would have had the service been even somewhat competent. This is a major disappointment as the last experience I had at this restaurant for dinner had been so positive it convinced me to book the place for Mother's Day brunch. I'm not sure if this was a one off situation but I would never recommend a return to this place based on the experience I had this day. What's worse, our reservation appeared to fall between two rushes as we were the second table in the rush that showed up about 10 to 15 minutes after our arrival at the place. As such, our food should've been fairly quick and coming out but others who ordered their food more than 20 minutes after our table received it with no problem. I have to say that the Taco Bell we had as result of this poor food service was Myles and Myles better than the food experience at the restaurant itself.

My friend and I were out shopping and wanted to grab lunch. She was craving a sandwich so we headed to Cotton Hollow. We were pleasantly greeted at the door and seated in the bar area at a high top. We couldn't decide between inside and outside so when we were seated at a window table over looking the patio, we had the best of both worlds. Both the dining room and bar are lovely. There are tons of GF options, but I always go for the choices I normally can't have elsewhere. They have a dedicated GF fryer so I opted for the fried fish and sweet potato fries. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. The fish was tasty and crisp, but a little dry on the thinner piece. The coleslaw was an Asian style slaw, which was not my thing. It was a bit odd for me. My friend opted for a chicken wrap and it was insanely large and she said it was delicious. The photo is only 1/2 of the sandwich which she took home. I had the red sangria. It was drinkable but had a bit of a sour taste and no fruit. My friend had the Hugo Spritz, which was perfect and refreshing. I have been here a few times and they are consistent and have a wide menu. It's on my list of regulars. Hint, if you go to Sayulita and can't get in, this place is right across the street and a good choice.

I don't need to be treated rude to my friends who are not even from around here. Don't even wanna go back we kept us here was your food is good and the band don't tell Lisa is the reason we came.
