    Joe, you're the best!

Rail 99 - A new name and new owners at this Cromwell Tavern. A buddy informed me about the re-opening and he knows the family. Well, I put him up to the challenge to pay a visit and he more than willingly accepted. We stopped in on a Friday evening, around 8:00. The place was busy, a lot of local regulars, at tables and along the bar. A duo of acoustic guys playing and singing a full range of songs. As the night moved along, they took every request and played without fail. We weren't in for food, but there's a handsome menu of tavern favorites. We enjoyed a couple draughts while Joe, "Mr Ownerman" chatted with us, worked the crowd and swung back for more. He and his wife are great, down-to-earth people, that just you make feel at home. Of course, I'd be remiss not mentioning their staff, such as, Ann Marie who smoothly managed the bar orders and still plenty of time to chat. Rail 99, a place to enjoy a fun evening, some tavern fare, and a pint with friends old and new.

The novelty is how local this bar is. We just went for a nightcap outside on the deck, so I can't comment on the food. They had an acoustic guitarist playing many popular cover songs of the Beatles and Billy Joel. Great voice! There was no social distancing on this back deck patio. The server wore a mask but that was it, so if you are nervous about Covid, don't come here. They have an assortment of cans and some very basic wines. Service was a little delayed but friendly.

    Chicken Parm night.

Doesn't look much from the outside but I quite enjoy this place a lot. Look past the façade and its optics you will find great friendly service from amazing humble people, and decent food. They always have a special week night. They serve steaks that are quite good and super cheap. One night I came and they had chicken parm and I was impressed. It was $9 bucks and quality that beat most places that charge over $20. The wings are decent and crispy. My only negative - not too many choices for beers on tap. Also, some are not as cold as I would like but they were ok. I'm very critical of my beers needing to be ice cold. It's is a pet peeve of mine. Overall this place is solid and I come here after work whenever I can.

A friend had recommended The Hideaway for wings a while back. Since then, a number of people…read morementioned them too. I recently visited. The Hideaway is a cool neighborhood bar. Not fancy. Just functional. I was there on an NFL Sunday. There were lots of regulars. There was good interaction with the staff. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who was the only person working the bar and waiting on the tables was amazing. She was super friendly to everyone. She hustled to meet everyone's needs. It wouldn't surprise me if she is an owner too. It's hard to find people, who aren't owners, who are that committed. I asked for a wing flavor recommendation and she said "Montreal Honey" first. I ordered 6. The wings are part-baked and then finished in a fryer. Good inner and outer texture. The Montreal Seasoning was right on. The Honey didn't have much of a presence either visually or flavor-wise. More was needed to balance the salt from the Montreal Seasoning and to justify the Honey in the name. I tried both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch. I'd recommend the Blue Cheese. I'll definitely return to try more wing flavors. I also ordered a crock of chili, which was full of ground beef and topped with melted cheddar and chopped red onions. The chili was solid. I'd probably try something else before I ordered it again though. I'm a fan of Hideaway and I'll be back. 4.25 Stars

What a fun night! Came here with a couple of girlfriends. Started at the little lounge area, but…read moresoon took the party to the bar when we ran into another yelpie! Don't let the outside of this place fool you because looks are definitely deceiving. We were cautious coming to this place due to the appearance of the outside, but once we were in it was so much fun. Agus, aka rawbartender, was Ah-mazing and truly made the night fun. He was truly such a vibe!! I ordered the SpongeBob, which was Goslings rum, pineapple spice, ginger, lime, angostura bitters. Especially with the show that was put on, my drink tasted even better. It was a Smokey, yet smooth and refreshing drink! We also got the Snow White, on the sweeter side made with Pear vodka, orgeat, pear juice, lemon juice, cinnamon. And of course, we can't forget our schooling in tequila and Mezcal from Agus. He was very informative of what he was serving and we tried a few different shots. He gave us the rundown of how you're actually supposed to taste tequila. And I have to say I've never had an experience like that before. I wish the party didn't stop and I will definitely be coming back specifically for Agus and of course the drinks!

The bartender was fabulous . And made great drinks ! We just got drinks I got the peaches peaches which was pleasantly really good not to sweat or bitter , not to overpowering with peach flavour very well balanced . They also offer small bites / food. I will def be back to try some more options !
