Bar service is amazing. I was very disappointed with the "local craft beer" offerings. Im always amazed that a high priced "tavern" doesn't carry 1 high quality local beer. Standard options from big distribution only here. Burger was average. Fairly salty. Bun was low quality.. borderline stale. Overall fine, but when a burger is at $18... you want a little more love

This is a very cool historic tavern with some great food options. I was very happy with the food and menu options. Service was decent, and the atmosphere is very nice, particularly in the historic parts. The fireplace and bar have a very warm vibe. A few more local draft craft beer options would be nice. But it's a cool place. I'll be back next time I'm in the area.

Tavern Wings garlic parmesan

A fine place to eat but it's not going to blow you away. The ambiance is an odd mixture of flat, dull modernity with a splash of rustic. What you might expect from a leased space that you're not willing to put much time or money into personalizing. This carried over to the seating. Metal chairs at a table barely wide or long enough to hold a plate and your drink. The service was attentive, if also perfunctory. This air of good-enough carried to the food. I had garlic parmesan wings and a tavern double burger. The wings were fresh from the fryer and then had some garlic parmesan mixture dabbed on. You know when you have too much parmesan bits in something and you taste dry crumbles of it as a result? This was that. The tavern double is listed on the menu as a smash burger, but definitely is not. The patties tasted like Bubba burger brand patties, on a dry potato roll. The fries were plentiful and tasty, fried and salted just right. If you're in the area and want a functional meal where you can say "that was food" afterwards, the Marlborough Tavern is your spot.

Stopped in here for a quick bite and a couple cocktails. Service and food alike are out of this world. Spinach and artichoke dip, finally a place that serves the right amount of chip to dip lol. There was none left of either.. they make their own chips. The Pierogi special was fire, also home made, this is a legit from scratch kitchen which many don't exist anymore. We had several cocktails made with Up N Down Bourbon which is their house bourbon!! The fried chicken sandwich was moist and flavorful, my only complaint is we ordered too much, good news is we ate at later and it still tasted great heating it up!! This place is a hidden gem

We always have a great time at the Marlborough Tavern! We've been for dinner on a cool night in front of the fireplace, or happy hour in the bar. All of the staff are welcoming and provide excellent service. Their menu is smaller now than it used to be, I guess due to Covid. I'm not sure when or if they'll go back to their full menu. But their limited menu is still full of a lot of gems (I'm talking about you, Mac and cheese!!) and they do daily specials as well. I've never had a bad meal at the Marlborough Tavern. There is also a very spacious patio to enjoy now that the weather is nice again. Go check them out and show them some love!

jalapeno drink

I haven't been here in the last two years. I ordered a jalapeno based drink (ended up having two and they gave me a to-go cup for the second one), which was unexpected & so kind! The drink had the right kind of strength. The mac and cheese was solid and I added the bbq chicken to it to spice it up. The ambiance was dimly lit and tavern vibes. The service was great and they fit us right in- despite being a party of four on a Saturday night. Will definitely go back!

Tonight I was craving a burger and I didn't feel like driving to my typical burger place, so I decided to try one from here. I am super picky about my burgers from restaurants either they are over cooked and lack flavor or they aren't cooked to my liking. Marlborough Tavern exceeded my expectation and very well may be my new favorite burger spot I only wish the topping was selection more expansive BUT I can't complain because the American Tavern Burger is a classic you can't go wrong with! I placed my order online and found it very easy to select my à la cart toppings (cheddar cheese, sautéed onions, lettuce, & pickles). I elected to have my burger well done and crossing my fingers that it wouldn't be over cooked. Spoiler alert it was perfect! I was also nervous that my takeout experience would be a disaster as my track record for great takeout experiences isn't too great. The fries were in a separate container which I think helped them from getting soggy on my 10 minute ride home. I pulled into one of the curbside spots (not clear if I was supposed to select this on the app when placing my order) and called to say I'd arrived. While they didn't ask for my name, they did bring out the wrong order at first... but I was also early for my pickup. At the actual pick up time they came back out with my order and apologized for earlier. All that to say it was still a positive experience and they verified my name before handing me the wrong order. I quickly devoured my burger & fries as soon as I got home. The portions were big, and the amount of meat in the burger was massive for the price! Good thing I hadn't eaten lunch and opted for an earlier dinner. I will be returning for takeout and hope to dine in again soon.

Burger, fries, and a cold beer.

Prices were so reasonable and it was an enjoyable atmosphere as well as a great place for a foodie like myself. Every thing tasted clean and home cooked with an upscale vibe. I can't wait to visit Hebron again. This is now my favorite restaurant in CT. (And I grew up in CT so it's not Just a random comment!) lots a great restaurants!!

The space is a well decorated old home with all the quintessential New England charm one would expect. We sat outside to enjoy the good weather and enjoy the extensive patio. Our server was very friendly and professional. We opted for the blueberry salad, the mussels, the Gorgonzola bread and the watermelon gazpacho. Food was paced well, we jumped into the gazpacho first. It was like a watermelon salsa. The sweetness of the watermelon worked well with the funk of the onion and tomato. There was a light oil used to give the soup a better texture but it was used sparingly and wasn't greasy. It was a well balanced bite but not really a soup. The mussels were small but cooked well. The bread was crusted on one side and soft but crispy. The white wine broth was briny, rich and seasoned well. A good broth for dipping, which matched well with the bread pieces. The best bite was the Gorgonzola bread. Soft, tender crumb with a healthy amount of broiled cheese on top. Bread was pre-sliced but also was provided a knife just in case. Combined with the mussel broth, made a great bite even better. The salad was good but lacking. The salad was dressed well, blueberries were in season but missed the punch wild blueberries tend to have. The walnuts were candied locally and were lightly crisped rather than entombed in sugar like other places. The salmon add-on was seasoned well and grilled well. It was kind of plain in presentation, kind of pushed to the side of the plate with abandon. The dessert menu was extensive, along with their specials. I opted for the chocolate chip cookie warmed. It was a reasonable cookie for the price. Was a little overworked so it would've been hard if not warmed, but as a warm cookie it was good. The missus opted for the strawberry shortcake, and she enjoyed the single bite she managed to get before we got swarmed by the local bee population. The patio is very pretty, lots of flowers but also lots of bees. They had a tendency to swarm any sweet dish that came out, so it may be wise to either take dessert inside or to go if you can. Insect swarm aside, the food was great but pricy. The dishes coming out to about 70. The quality was good, the portions are large, but the price reflects that. Its really good though, so if you're in the area this place is a great spot for a nice meal in a very nice location

The condiments I think could have been made standard by default in my opinion. Maybe they are and I just paid for something else?? The monster fries were awesome, but my stomach isn't good at spices, so could we have a non-spice version? And finally the drink; a large cup of black diet Coke; yum! The packaging was excellent, love the bag! The only semi negative I have is that the burger just isn't big enough. You are competing with all the major brands. I think with the current flavor you will do well, but you must increase the size of the burger by 25-50%, example Whopper size. Also, loose the plastic containers. Its a great feature but people like me are expecting the burger to be wrapped up in a branded aluminum paper; i.e.. old school. But the definite negative for me is: Why is Grub Hub so darn expensive? Is that because of you or the company? I've really never used it until today. I must say, $35.00 for a burger and fries is highway robbery!

But fanboying aside, as a burger place it's pretty decent. Price is reasonable, burgers are flavorful and the fries have a good amount of spice. The pickles are fresh, the bun is soft and grilled to give a little crispness. The flavors are good and the burger was cooked properly. The negatives were the large amount of white onions, the fake cheese congealed due to delayed delivery, and I ordered beast style fries but only got seasoned fries. Also not a fan of delivery only, which doubled the price of the order. As a new place, some hiccups are to be expected. It's a solid burger, with some good flavors on offer. Would love a pickup option, burger would probably be awesome fresh off the griddle. Not bad, but there's some wrinkles to iron out
