    The Kitchen sink, wings
    Erin C.

Found this through yelps 5star recommendations. Glad we did. Ambience is comfy, casual with a warm vibe throughout the restaurant. We ordered the kitchen sink wings to start. They were absolutely the most tender buffalo wings I've ever eaten in my entire life! The flavors were amazing! I'm already craving them. My husband ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich With sweet potato fries. Fries or crispy and delicious sandwich was huge enough for another meal. I ordered a small steak salad cooked medium. It was cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that balsamic dressing was very oily and did not give much flavor to the salad. Beachland Tavern also has a great wine selection. I was able to order the Caymus conundrum by the glass. Which absolutely made my night! We will be back.!

It was a quiet evening around 6 pm. The menu goes from pub food to full restaurant entrees. My burger was cooked perfectly and I added sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. The burger was not drippy even with the carmelized onions cheese, tomato and lettuce. The choc. Bomb was amazing and the cheese cake was so delicious. The service was efficient and not obtrusive! Great place for lunch or dinner!!

    Burger & grilled chicken sandwiches

Lunch - stopped at Beachland Tavern around 1:00 on a Saturday. Expected a busier place than what we encountered - I think only 2 other tables were occupied besides us. So, I had misgivings & considered leaving. However we stayed & it was good. The interior was a lot of dark wood & had a good sized bar on one side with high top tables. We opted for a comfortable booth on the other side. Our server was very nice & brought whatever condiments we asked for. Food - I had a grilled chicken sandwich & my husband had a burger. $15. I got the French fries & he got onion rings. The chicken & burger were really good. Had that nice grilled flavor. The fries & onion rings were good too, but I could guess that they were probably that restaurant depot frozen stuff that gets heated in the restaurant. So, I wouldn't make a special trip to go there, but if I was in the area, it was - good solid place to eat.

Hands down the BEST "smoked wings" ...that's all you need to know. Their signature dish kitchen sink wings has people coming back again and again. A classic American fare with a casual bar... happy hour Sunday, all day. Cozy interiors... I prefered sitting at the bar area than the dining room... just more light and airy. Everything I had was super delicious!! Priced right.. they have a great selection of beer on tap. The wings are out of the world ... I went with the classic Buffalo sauce (hottest on the menu) ....smoked and literally falls off the bone. It was the first time I ate them all and I ate them clean. The Buffalo sauce was homemade, had a good flavor to it. Highly recommended!! I skipped the main and dove straight into desserts, warm apple pie with a scoop of vanilla, was a sinful way to end the evening but I am not guilty of it!! It was soooooo gooodddd!! Some other dishes that caught my attention were..the Irish Nachos a Gaelic take on the Mexican standard. Smoked brisket and sliced potatoes are substituted for the usual ground meat and tortilla chips. Crispy Spinach and Artichoke Won-ton and Buffalo Fried Ribs. For those who want something more than an appetizer, there are salads, sandwiches, burger, pastas, and meat and fish entrees.Their salmon sandwich with the mango chutney and avocado....I was told is very good! The kids menu: Mac and Cheese, Chicken Tenders, Grilled Cheese and burger is offered as well. Service was friendly and attentive. I'll be coming here a lot, every time I crave wings actually!

Went on a Friday night, and the bar area was pretty packed, which was a good sign. Service was a little slow; it seemed like they were short staffed. We waited a few minutes before a hostess showed up to greet us. Once we sat down, it took another 10 minutes or so for a waiter to come to our table. Again, they did seem understaffed, and the place was pretty busy. Food: Cesar salad 7/10 - enough dressing, croutons Cup of New England Clam Chowder 4/10 This was super salty. Smoked honey chipotle wings 10/10 - You could taste the smokiness, The flavor was delicious, and the wings were cooked to perfection Blackened ribeye w/green beans & twice baked potato 8.5/10 - The flavor on the ribeye was amazing! The green beans, although not seasoned, had a smokey flavor, and the twice baked potato was yummy. Steak tips Risotto 9/10 This was absolutely scrumptious! There are plenty of tender steak tips, creamy risotto with lots of flavor. We will definitely be back!

Cant beleive I haven't rated this one yet ! We go there a lot, the dirt wings and chicken tenders are delicious and what keep us coming back. Yesterday hubby and I tried the eggplant tower which was not bad . Think fried goodness with cheese and a tummy green sauce. Love that they have a little parking area. Love the menu choices and diversity. Love the drafts selections. However, consistency see that the fizz in their soda or gin and tonic for example is lacking! Not sure why , but been disappointed a few times. Stephanie is amazing, love running into her ... sometimes the wait staff can make a huge difference!

How have I not done a review yet? You know how many times I've checked in here? This is one of my favorite local restaurants, I mean their food and Happy Hour is amazing! I've been there twice with others who didn't love their meals, but honestly they ordered things I'd never order so they need to make better decisions! Ok, one was Blackened Chicken Alfredo and it was just spicier than she was expecting and maybe spicier than she likes, so if you like spice maybe it's amazing, but I don't eat Alfredo anything so I didn't try it. Back to what I do love and have eaten numerous times, their wings!!!! OMG, sure you can get them fried, but literally everyone has fried wings, so please get the fall off the bone smoke wings! You really can't go wrong with any flavor (try the kitchen sink), though there aren't many flavors to try. Another of my favorite appetizers is their Chicken Quesadilla, so full of good stuff! It's not one of those thing quesadillas with only cheese and a couple pieces of chicken, it's filling and delicious!!! They also have literally my favorite Seared Salmon Sandwich! I've had many salmon sandwiches, and this one is amazing! A bit messy, but who cares when you're eating perfection? Another thing I love is that there is NO UPCHARGE when you swap the fries for asparagus or sweet potato fries, or any of their other sides! This is the way it should be!!! I've also tried several of their salads and they're amazing as well! Lots of good stuff in them and a good amount of protein when you add it, or order a salad that comes with protein already. I've tried some of their specials and they've always been good. You really just can't go wrong! Of course some days service is better than others, but it's never been awful and you generally get what you need when you need it, but sometimes you're not checked on as often as you'd like when you need more water or something. But generally, staff are attentive and take care of you. There are a few places that have all day Sunday Happy Hour, and this is one of them! You really just can't go wrong here. I think they have decent beer on tap too, though I'm not a beer drinker, so don't go by me. The bar always seems pretty full and people here are happy! Give it a try if you haven't yet!

Have not been here in years. We came here on a friday night and although it was busy we were able to get a table fairly quickly. We mostly had appetizers, some drinks and wings. Love the philly roll and loaded nachos. It is still one of my fave places to get wings. We had a great time and will definitely being coming back.

Our waiter Elijah had a cool vibe and was attentive. For drinks, I ordered their Valentine's Day special cocktail which was tasty and pretty. My boyfriend ordered a sour beer which he said was one of the best sours he's had. For appetizers, we ordered the flatbread which was spiced pumpkin, goat cheese and sage. It was so flavorful! I would definitely order again. We also ordered the Cajun tacos which were also very flavorful and good balance of flavors. Would also order again. For our entrees, I ordered the Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese with truffle fries. It was so delicious. I love that it was on sourdough bread and the cheddar cheese (I think it was cheddar) made every bite just so good. The fries were not the truffle that I was expecting. Instead of oil I think they used a seasoning so it was a little salty but I found that I couldn't stop eating them. My boyfriend ordered the bacon burger with pork belly and massive onion rings. He did say that he wish he ordered what I got and he said the pork belly was a little too crispy for his liking. Overall, I would recommend Five Corners Bistro. "Come gather 'round people Wherever you roam…read moreAnd admit that the waters Around you have grown" (Bob Dylan) It's part community center, part soup kitchen, and part high end restaurant. In addition, it's unlike any restaurant I've ever been to. My first visit to Gather55 wasn't my first visit to the building, because back in the early '90's I was here during its Spaghetti Warehouse and Trout Brook Brewery days. Gather55 is so unusual because of its innovative and visionary business model. For breakfast and lunch, it opens the doors to the underprivileges or those struggling within the community for "pay what you can" meals. Those that have zero dollars are assigned a task in the restaurant and working for a half hour or so will earn you a meal. In the evening, the white tablecloths come out and Gather55 becomes a high-end restaurant with weekly guest chefs, and the revenue raised from these pricey dinners subsidizes the breakfasts and lunches. Chef and Gather55 director Rob Mafucci does a great job explaining everything in this YouTube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJHbwtuwnfc&t=138s Four of us had a memorable dinner at Gather55 last night. We started off with a few glasses of wine for around $10 a glass. The menu suggested pairings to go along with the evening's five appetizers and four entrees. The dishes were all created by different chefs including some heavy hitting familiar names like Chef Billy Grant and Chef Tyler Anderson. The appetizers were priced between $14-$18, the entrees between $28-$32, and the desserts were all $11. They also offer a 3 Course Prix Fixe Menu for $55 with your choice of salad or appetizer, entree, and dessert. Our appetizers were: Tom Yum Noodles $15 with chili paste, coconut milk, bok choy, bean sprout, Chinese cabbage, peanut, scallion, and lime Crispy Yucca Rellenos $14 (Vegetarian) Chef Jeremy Williams yucca, herbed cheese, aji verde sauce Kale Caesar Salad $14 with parmesan, lemon, and crispy garbanzos. Two of us went with the Tom Yum Noodles, including yours truly. It was a dish by this month's Guest Chef Lapat Watrous of Aroy Thai Garden in Middletown, and she created a helluva delicious starter. It was an amazing combination of tastes, textures and an amazing sauce that reminded me a lot of Panang Curry. Our main courses were: Salmon en Papillote $32 (GF) with potatoes, leeks, fresh herbs, cooked in parchment paper Stuffed Eggplant & Kale $28 with vadouvan, beans, tomato agrodulce, and fregola Pork Chop Milanese $29 with arugula, parmesan, lemon beurre blanc Lobster Ravioli ($18 from the appetizer menu) with tarragon mascarpone cream, and roasted hazelnuts. I had the eggplant dish and had to scurry to my phone to find out what some of the exotic ingredients were. I learned that vadouvan is a French spice blend, tomato agrodolce is an Italian sweet and sour sauce, and fregola is a teeny tiny pasta very similar to couscous. It was the creation of Chef Tim East of West Hartford's Union Kitchen, and it was delicious. The presentation was gorgeous, rollatini style spirals of eggplant topped with bits of kale, topped with the pasta and beans all swimming in a bed of fantastic tomato sauce. We had coffees and split two desserts - Chef Tyler Anderson's Brown Sugar Budino (an egg custard) with brown sugar, maple, and cocoa nibs, and Chef Kristin Eddy's Flourless Chocolate Torte with bourbon, orange, crème fraiche, and black pepper. I had a forkful of each, and they were both fantastic. You really have to tip your hat to Rob Maffucci and his talented group of collaborators for putting together such an innovative effort to serve the community and offer a wonderful dining experience. Thank you, Chef!

Notwithstanding, we looked forward to something unique and outstanding, given the constant advertising on Yelp for the Parker House Rolls. The hostess was friendly, the waiter a bit snobbish, but perhaps that's the "exclusive" vibe they are trying to project. We went on to peruse the menu, which is a bit abbreviated; I assumed it's because they are focused on their "specialty." We took in the views, which, hailing from New York City, were not as vast or fascinating as those we were used to. Granted, we knew where we were and really had no expectations. We just wanted to enjoy dinner. The meal's presentation was beautiful. The Parker House Rolls were delicious. The Hamachi Crudo appetizer was perfection. I did not enjoy the Skate Wing and did not eat it; it had a tough rubbery texture; probably overcooked. I mentioned to my waiter that I didn't enjoy it, and he offered no alternative, so I ate more rolls. My husband enjoyed the Dry Aged Rohan Duck. We topped it off with a chocolaty dessert and French press coffee. The friendliest of the staff was a young man who collected our plates after our entrees. He smiled and interacted in a very down-to-earth manner. Overall, the appetizer, rolls, and dessert were delicious. The service was stoic and not warm or welcoming.
