    Blackened Shrimp Taco (3 Each)
    Morgan L.

Had yet another tasty lunch at the bar this weekend. My husband went with his favorite, Buffalo Mac and cheese, and I decided to go outside the box for a change and tried the shrimp tacos. The tacos were great! They were just the right size. Not so big that they were a mess to eat, but not too small so they were plenty filling for me. I liked the chewy-crisp texture of the flour tortillas and the slaw on them was crunchy and flavorful. I did order some rice and beans on the side too. The rice was fluffy and the black beans were surprisingly tasty! It was nice and quiet in the bar around 4 o'clock and service was great. The bar manager who was serving us is super personable. Thanks again for another great meal!

Had a burger salad for lunch today at Plan B and it was very tasty! We got pickles as a starter (think like bread at an Italian restaurant) and it was such a cute idea, and delicious! Our food was cooked as expected, and our server was super friendly and professional, but funny. Would recommend if you're looking for a chill environment and a great burger.

I tried this Plan B on a Friday night expecting a busy night with some wait time. I was surprised to be seated pretty much immediately. Nice window seat in bar area. Our service was very prompt once seated. We ordered a couple of cocktails Grape kool aid and a toasted almond. kool aid drink was very good. The restaurant had good selection of Bourbons as the restaurant name implies PLAN B burgers and bourbons. The ambiance was mellow this Friday night. I did note that they normally have a DJ on Friday nights after 10 PM. We had no intention of hanging that late so I can't comment on entertainment. We opted to just order main courses this evening. The menu is focused on burgers so my gf ordered sliders while wanted something different so I opted for a fiesta bowl. Bowl consisted of basmati rice with tomatoes, jalapeños, avocados tortilla, aioli and chicken for protein. I would've liked some beans but not included. Burgers temps have 2 levels "pink" and "no pink. " sides for burgers are never ending variety of fried potatoes she opted for tater tots. Burger was good although slightly undercooked. Fiesta bowl was good w arriving jalapeños with seeds so it had some kick which was fine by me. Parking at this location can be very challenging because so many businesses in complex. So just be prepared to hunt for a spot. There is a parking garage tucked away in rear of parking lot you can sometimes find spots behind the plaza. I would like to rate 3.5 but didn't want to low ball them.

I kept on hearing about Plan B since they have multiple locations; the following towns/cities has one, Simsbury, Hartford, Milford, Southington, Springfield, and West Hartford. We decided to get lunch here and were very pleased. The service was spot on and the food was great. The interior was clean and spacious. I wasn't craving burgers so I ordered the Shepards pie; it had corn, ground beef, mashed potatoes, tomatoes, rosemary, gravy, and frizzled onions. The meal was huge and flavorful! I really loved the frizzled onions, it complemented the dish very well. Also, I had their b-berry cocktail, the menu says it tastes like juice but feels like vodka; it's house-made blueberry infused vodka and it was amazing! I did not taste the alcohol at all, which could be dangerous after a few of them. What I love about the place was, it's kid-friendly. There were a ton of options to choose from. The service was quick and friendly. Overall, a great experience with food and drinks and can't wait to go back to try their burgers, which is what they're known for.

Solid burger joint with a more upscale sportsbar feel. I built my own burger - very good, but could have been juicer. Fries also good. What I like about this place is that they have a nice selection of local craft beer on tap. Service from the bartender was excellent!

Sadly, must downgrade the usually cool Plan B experience to 3 stars. They keep monkeying with the great happy hour and it just keeps getting worse! I came last month for my birthday and it was still pretty decent. I documented this in the photos. Espresso martini, 3 fish tacos for $4, yummy desserts... Now tonight a month later, it totally stunk from chintzy & cheap menu changes. First--no more cute little gratis pickled cukes to start. Why?! Then, instead of the three awesome little tacos, they served ONE each--I kid you not! Same price as the last month for THREE?! Also, raised prices for other items and loss of some of the better things like my favorite mini chili and salads, and NO more happy hour espresso martini. Ugh, I feel so disappointed---totally cheated! It's really no bargain now, just get regular sized items from the main menu for a better value. Three stars still for the great staff & fun place, bedsides all this bad business. But the happy hour is just so unhappy. Boooo!

Not so happy hour It's the little things that make a dining experience memorable. Last month we came for happy hour and had 3 delicious fish tacos for $5, 3 wonderful chicken tacos for $4 and a few other delicious appetizers and drinks. Loved it. Return trip...as pictured the shrimp taco is now a single taco for $4. Chicken taco also reduced to one lonely bite at $3 instead of 3 for $4. Mini burgers are back but at a cost....previously 6 for $13 are now 6 for $20. And the wonderful expresso martini is gone. Sorry Plan B, but Happy Hour was much happier before. Now it is higher priced than similar tacos on dinner menus around town, burgers at dinner prices when thinking pound for pound, and just nothing that stands out and calls to us as our Happy Hour destination. Thinking the only one truly happy is the owner when he cashes out the register at the conclusion of Happy Hour. Per my prior review, still a solid choice for dinner. Great service and very good food with a nice vibe. Next time they offer the happy hour menu though, I will say pass.

    Double Day

Had a craving for a good burger yesterday and not that fast food junk you can just grab and go. I decided to venture to Plan B and after looking at wait time for the West Hartford, Hartford and Simsbury, it seemed like my hopes would be dashed. Fortunately Glastonbury had little to no wait. We were seated quickly and ordered food for the kids while we decided what we wanted. I order the double day burger with Parmesan fries and my wife had the fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. Our server Alix was amazing and she recommended that I try the John Daly as my drink. It was a great choice. It reminded me of a Long Island ice tea but a bit stronger. My burger was delicious. The double day is a smash patty and you immediately get the crust in each bite. The spicy maple sauce is a nice compliment to add some moisture you're missing from the patties being so thin. My wife reported her fish sandwich being really good with the fish being nice and flaky with the crunch from the batter. I was so full I decided to skip desert so I'll have to try dessert next time. If you want a real burger in a nice quiet spot with nice decor you can't go wrong here. PS what I don't get to try that i definitely will my next visit is the huge variety of bourbon on the menu.

Food was very underwhelming. Lacked flavor. Presentation could be better. Fish & chips were overcooked. Coleslaw had spring onions in it which overpowered the entire side dish. Hand cut fries were not good. Meatloaf had potential. A lot of Worcestershire sauce for my liking and a bit dry. Mashed potatoes were very gummy. Chicken tenders were overcooked. Tater tots were good. Fried pickles were okay. Nachos have potential as well. House cooked potato chips with chili, tomatoes, onions and queso sauce on top. Needed salt. Half sour pickle chips are their complimentary starter but very salty and I love pickles but I did not like those. Pretzel bacon cheeseburger was overcooked and bland. You only have two options on how you'd like your burgers cooked: some pink or no pink. We asked for some pink but ours was dryer than the Sahara desert and this is a burger joint. The warm cookie Sunday was okay. There was more ice cream and whipped cream than cookie, served with 4 dirty spoons. We haven't been here for over 10 years because we didn't like it then and we don't like it now. The only thing that's changed is they have more than just burgers for options. Service was very bad. Our server was very forgetful and not attentive. Had to ask him multiple times for utensils (hello!), dessert menu and drinks. He also handed us a handwritten sheet of paper with beers because he didn't know what was available on tap. Ambiance is very LOUD! Don't go there to converse because you won't hear the person next to you. The server couldn't even hear us. I'm surprised our orders were somewhat correct. People surprisingly like this place and I'm not sure why. The food and service is awful. Parking is a headache. I'd rather go to McDonald's. If you're into under-seasoned food, a loud environment and poor service then this is your place. I do not recommend this restaurant for any fellow foodies. I don't see the hype at all.

Went for happy hour on a Friday night - disappointed that sliders were not on the happy hour menu either due to varying happy hour deals at different locations or recent changes - who knows ? Love the hummus appetizer and then had the chicken thing without the toppings and hubby had a burger - probably wouldn't go for happy hour again since their happy hour isn't that great compared to their regular menu so no need to rush in that time spot and I like their salads anyway Stephanie was a great bartender!

Last night, a professional organization I belong to hosted a game night charity fundraiser here, and we had a blast. We played simulated baseball, golf, and hockey, threw axes and darts, had some great food, and overall had a sensational time. Choices were limited to 'small and large plates', there was no appetizer section. We were asked "sparkling bottled ($$) or tap water?". We chose tap. Server brought an old-style quart-size milk bottle and small juice-size glasses. The water had no ice, so I assumed water was cold, it wasn't. I ordered a 'breakfast' stout, my wife coffee. Stout was served in a wine glass, not a traditional pint glass. Wife said coffee wasn't that hot. When they brought our beverages, wife asked for a napkin since none were on the table. Like most civilized countries, I like to put a napkin in my lap when I sit down in a restaurant. Apparently you need to ask for one here. Young server muttered something about place settings are brought when food is delivered. I guess an ale and coffee aren't napkin worthy. Not sure what they accomplish with this goofy policy. It looks more like some kind of cost cutting measure. We made reservations a week earlier, wanted us to confirm a second time through text the same morning. It led me to think this must be a popular place with people clamouring to get in. Once there, place wasn't bust at all, no waiting customers and a sea of unoccupied tables. Our guest arrived after we ordered our beverages. After a few minutes, I ended up flagging down a server to get her a drink. Another sign we were stuck with a 2nd or 3rd-string staff. Our aunt ordered a specialty drink from their menu; "champagne in a laundry basket", (looked more like laundry water in a wash tub). After taking our orders, paper menus were collected to be reused. Maybe they were saving money on copy paper. I kinda' wish she left one in case we wanted desserts or something later. They were keeping the table clear of literally everything. I ordered a humus plate for use as an appetizer, something to share and couldn't be screwed up while waiting for our main course. When entrees showed up, we all chose 'smoked sausage eggs-benedict', extra servers were in tow with plates, napkins and silverware, napkin place settings given after all plates were on the table. My wife was seated across from me, sitting next to her Aunt Nan. The first plate was placed in front of me. Even being the neanderthal caveman I am, I knew this was the most basic etiquette faux pas (I felt humiliated j/k). Ladies are ALWAYS served first, another red flag from an inexperienced staff. The 'smoked sausage' Eggs Benedict failed on many levels. It wasn't hot, poached eggs were both over and under-cooked- egg whites had chunky white snot, yolks were not runny. The 'smoked sausage', was kielbasa logs cut in half lengthwise, they were overcooked and impossible to cut without flattening and mutilating egg and muffin. They could be used as wheel chocks, I had to deconstruct it so sausage could be wrestled with on the side. Wife said the 'homemade' English muffin had the tap water taste like what we were served 'for free'. I couldn't help but envision a garden hose filling a mop bucket used for filling the milk bottles. The Hollandaise sauce lacked silky richness and flavor, I've had better with McCormick packets. Benedict was overpowered with the taste of the smoked sausage. This meal was our aunt's special treat for our birthdays. They did not finish their meals, leaving mostly the pieces of the hockey puck-hard sausage. Server had been touting the pastry chef for the home-made English muffins. They were not any better than Thomas's English muffins. I am a plate-cleaner by habit, I've even been called human garbage disposal, so I managed to clear this one, (except for the egg snot, it would've taken a straw to finish it). My wife always has leftovers I happily dispose of quietly, not this time, gave it a hard pass. I felt unfulfilled, I was food frustrated, so I ordered some bacon cheese scones and shared them with the table. They turned out to be the best thing we had, warm Bisquick quality with a good taste of bacon and cheese almost as addicting as Red Lobster cheddar biscuits. We consumed them like a pack of hungry wolves. I asked and was told they don't serve them with butter. These begged for butter. IMO, butter should already be on the table. My wife picked this venue for our birthday treat meal with our beloved Aunt Nan from MA treating us. I apologized to her for our disappointing choice. She said she was glad I said it, she didn't want to say anything to make us feel bad. With tip, the bill for 3 was $171.00. We could have had a better meal and service at an IHOP for a quarter of the cost, I know I would have felt more satisfied. This experience made onto my list of top 5 worst eating experiences.

The clam chowder was just as good, thick and loaded with flavor and ingredients in every bite. The grilled octopus with potatoes was a standout -- perfectly tender (not rubbery at all) and packed with flavor. Oysters were fresh, crisp, and just straight up delicious. For the main, the paella was -- rich, loaded with seafood (shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels, clams), and cooked perfectly. Paired it with a light beer which helped cut through the richness and kept everything balanced. Service was on point and the ambiance made it a great overall experience. Definitely a spot I'd go back to.

They used to have "simply prepared" on the menu that was just the fish, with seasonings and complementary sides. That's gone from the menu. It was always perfectly prepared and complimentary to whatever fish you were having. Last night, that changed for me. I have noticed over my last few visits a change in the restaurant. At first, I thought it was just my tastes changing, but last night proved me wrong. I had the "North Atlantic Swordfish Saltimbooca". The description was "Proccuitto, mozzaella cheese, sage mascarpone, white polenta". Polenta is usually soft, with the fish on top. This was polenta soup, with the fish literally swimming in it. In addition, it was greasy. There was a lot of oil around the side. And on top of that, the mozzarella formed a rather nasty hard cheese coating on the fish that I removed to the side with my fork. It was one of the most unappetizing things I've had in a long time. The swordfish was completely lost; no flavor at all. After a few bites, I gave up on it. I also noticed that drinks have gotten smaller. I ordered a martini. It used to be quite generous (it is a $16 drink after all). The glass last night was much smaller, at the same price. The wine was good, but that was about it. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I should have gone with the Fish and Chips! Hard to mess that up.
