Everything we had here was delicious. The portions were perfect for sharing and ordering a few items for the table. The highlight dish was the Brussels sprouts. From the texture of the crisp to the acidity of the red onion to the sweetness of the caramelization to the crunch of the nuts to the sauce to make it not dry - masterful!

3.5 stars. @ the barn restaurant is part of the Zen Restaurant Group; there is @ the rooftop, La Figata, Table 570, Han Asian Cusine, and Z Catering. We decided to have a late lunch here with our guest from Florida. We missed brunch by a couple of minutes, they stopped it at 3pm. The menu was vast with a ton of options. The dinner entrees were pricey, running around $30 per dish. We got the Mac and cheese from the kids menu for my kids; they seemed to enjoy it. For my drink, I got the caramel espresso martini, which had caramel vodka, Kahlua, Bailey's chocolate, and lavazza espresso for $15, it was tasty but pricey. My entree, I had the buttermilk chicken rice bowl $16; this came with rice & beans, pico de Gallo, and avocado. The meal was good. The rice had delicious flavor and the chicken had a palatable crispy batter. We also had the Parmesan truffle fries which were decent. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals and drinks. The service was okay, kind of slow, since our waitress had a bunch of patrons sit in her section all at once. I won't fault her for that, she was trying her best. The patio was a great spot to sit on a warm autumn afternoon. The building was pretty cool looking, it did look like a barn. Overall, prices were on the high side and the food was average to slightly above average. However, my family and I would return, more so for lunch and brunch.

The food came straight away. Had the BBQ short rib Mac and cheese. Also had a high noon pineapple vodka seltzer as well.

Had a chance to make my way up to Granby to try out The Barn. Heads Up: You will need to call ahead and make reservations. Unless you'd like to gamble. I went at lunch time, upon arrival I was I was asked for a reservation (which I didn't have), but they seated me due to the fact that it wasn't busy at the time. The Barn is, in fact, a BARN. It has outdoor seating, but I went in January, so it's no outside for me . The inside wasn't gutted like some places might be. Instead, the interior was a painted white repurposed barn. Instead of focusing on the country vibe of barn, the Barn furnishings are modern and upscale in look. Now the food. I opted for the Granby burger as my choice of food option for lunch. If I'm going to go burger, I look for something that make it different. The Granby burger is a burbon onion herb remoulade. The burger was juicy and tasty. It had a great flavor and it came with a side of hand cut fries. I would definitely stop by again (with a reservation) to try some of their dinner options the next time I'm in the area. Looks like their seafood may be something to try.

We Discovered this gem on a backroad drive. I had book marked it a while ago but forgot about it. So glad we stopped. They have a good happy hour menu. 3-6pm. 1/2 price wines and beer specials. The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious! We ordered the halibut with corn salsa over basmati rice. And the ribeye with fresh green beans. Everything was excellent. The outdoor dining is lovely. No room for dessert. Service was friendly and the restrooms were clean. A huge plus in my book!

Went this past weekend for a second visit to this Granby restaurant. The first time we had an excellent dinner-- food was great, the place was quite packed and not loud, and the service was excellent. I ordered the paella which was described to me as one of the more popular dishes, and while it was good, I did point out to the server that the shellfish hadn't been cleaned of all their sand; several bites I tried and got a startling "crunch" from the grit, so a good portion of my protein was inedible, but the flavor overall was spot on. I mentioned this to the waitress, but there was no offer to comp or discount the dish (I left a good portion of it uneaten on the plate). She did come back to say the chef appreciated getting the feedback... so I guess that's good for them? Today we went for brunch. Four of us had breakfast items and my son chose to have the chicken linguine. Everyone was happy with their meals which were spot on and filling. Accommodations were made for an allergy which were very appreciated.

What made the experience even more special was the hospitality. After the Tanglewood concert on a Sunday night, the staff recognized that many concertgoers were looking for a place to eat and graciously stayed open later to accommodate everyone. That level of customer service is rare and speaks volumes about how much they care about their guests. Outstanding food, exceptional hospitality, and an experience I'll be talking about for a long time. I can't wait to come back.

A Valentine's dinner that did not impress!…read more Valentine's has always been a very special holiday for me. My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in the Berkshires, which was lovely and quiet. I made reservations ahead of time for this highly rated wine bar and very close to where we were staying. First off, due to the previous weather/storms they had no street parking. But luckily we parked in a nearby lot. Upon arrival, the restaurant bar area was very nice and romantic. The server brought us to our table but I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. I mean the bar area was a bit darker and the table that we were being seated at had a lot of light. Now, don't get me wrong, It was Valentine's day which screams romantic and there was no romantic vibe to this restaurant. After mentioning this to our server she did move us and turned down the lights a bit which was much better. Food/Drinks: The menu was not big at all which was nice. I ordered a dirty martini to start which needed more olive juice and my husband ordered a rum cocktail which he enjoyed. For starters, I ordered their Over Roasted Parsnip which was very good and filling. My husband had their Beet Salad which he said was excellent. For entrees, I had their Seared Duck Breast. I really enjoyed the caramel sauce but did not love the duck itself. My husband had the Oven Roasted Chicken Statler which was very dry he could barley eat it. Also, since this is a wine bar I will say the wines were nothing special which was also a bit disappointing. I wish they had something unique and special to offer especially being on a Valentine's Day. I feel this place may be more of a summer destination. Service: Service was excellent I will say. Our server was always asking how things were, checking on us and if we needed anything and asking about any additional drinks. etc. Also, the Manager came over to ask how everything was but he spefically looked at me. I think my husband would've mentioned his meal being dry if he looked at him as well but my husband could've spoken up too. We did say something to our server after she asked about the chicken dish, which they ended up taken off the bill which was very nice. Overall: I didn't love Alta Wine Bar my first time here, but I would come back in the spring or summer months when the weather is warm to try it again. Cheers~

There were only about 3 booths plus some half-booth/chair seating for maybe 20 people total. The decor was really pretty too, hanging flowers everywhere which made it feel cozy and aesthetic. Service was amazing. There was one bartender and one waiter and both were super attentive, fast, and friendly the whole time. We specifically went for the $20 girl dinner special which comes as a tower with martinis filled with Caesar salad, garlic knots, penne alla vodka, and french fries. The french fries were PHENOMENAL and the penne alla vodka was honestly sensational. My only wish is that the meal included some kind of protein like chicken because it would've made it feel a little more complete. Their drink menu is huge and really creative they had things like a cannoli martini and pistachio martini which were both delicious. I originally wanted a whiskey martini, so the bartender suggested a sidecar martini. It was good, just not really the vibe for a 5 PM dinner with my girlfriends lol definitely more of a late-night cocktail. I ended up switching to "That's Your Old Fashioned" made with birthday cake whiskey and liked that much better. Overall, I'd definitely go back for drinks and to try more food. I probably wouldn't order the girl dinner again personally, but it's still a really good deal and such a fun concept. Loved the atmosphere and service

The restaurant is in a sleepy little corner of Glastonbury in a tiny strip mall. The inside is decorated well and it's a very pretty space. The single waitress was handling the entire place herself. She got me seated after a short wait. She was very polite and helpful, offered recommendations and was always available but was very busy. Opted for linguini in vodka sauce with meatballs, and the crème brûlée. Food came out after a short wait. Took pics and dug in The pasta was not boiled in salty water. Pasta consistency was slick and firm but not crunchy. Either overworked fresh pasta or dried, I'm not sure which. The vodka sauce was one note, lacking any depth. It was a creamy tomato sauce and really needed seasoning to punch up the flavors. The meatball was dense, lacked any seasoning or flavor. They were cooked and warm, just not much going on beyond ground beef. The Marinara was actually really good. Balanced, sweet but not overly acidic. The quality showed in that sauce. The crème brûlée was very good. Little bit boozy due the gran mariner on top with the caramelized sugar. Creamy and light on the vanilla but the perfect consistency. The best bite of the bites. The garlic knots and cappuccino were okay. Nothing fancy there, but functional and good enough. The server showed concern when I didn't eat much of my entree. She offered replacements, which I declined. The hospitality was great even with her being as busy as she was. Price was high, coming out to around 45 bucks for the pasta and meatballs, cappuccino, and dessert. It was a lunch on a Monday, so not expecting the best. But the price was a bit much for the quality provided. I can see glimmers of greatness here. The server and the dessert were great, but their entrees leave a bit to be desired. As an Italian restaurant, it has the perfect ambiance and service expected for an elevated experience in that area. The foods a bit lacking, but if you go for the location and the service then you'll do just fine.
