The Daily Grind is a coffee shop that I've heard of before, but I've never been because I've never been to this part of town. Located in Unionville pretty close to the Farmington River, this adorable coffee shop will provide you the fuel before or after your walk. They offer lunch, breakfast and coffee options. They have a spacious interior as well as a few tables outside. Their large menu of coffee, teas and energy drinks was intriguing. I had to get the Peeps Latte when I saw it listed on their Specials menu. It was ready quickly. This was adorable looking, it had three colorful peeps sitting on top of the marshmallow cold foam. This vanilla based latte, was equally tasty as it was looking. After my pick me up, I picked myself up and went for a walk, the trial is really intended for cyclists, but we made do. Came here as part of the coffee crawl and got the special magic bar shaken espresso. We also ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. Daily Grind opened in November 2023 in Unionville. It's located near the Farmington Trail and has a decent sized parking lot. It's a nice coffee shop with ample seating and great service. I stopped in a couple times and love their coffee and atmosphere. There were little games that you can play on the table, my child loved it. They offer pastries, sandwiches, etc. I had the cinnamon roll latte two different times in the summer and still think about it. If you're a coffee lover like me, I highly recommend a visit. read more

Visited this place on the Hartford coffee crawl and it was one of my favorite stops. This establishment is dog friendly. For well behaved dogs only. They even gave my dog a pup cup with whipped cream. For food I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a soft roll which was so good. All of their bread and bagels come from local bakery's . For a beverage I ordered an almond joy iced latte that was delicious. Staff here is super friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to order. They also give away 1 day old bagels if you give them a 5 star review!!! read more

I love this place! I stumbled upon it about a week ago and I've gone twice already! Every time everything was perfect, the first time I went I got a pistachio iced latte and an egg and cheese on a plain bagel. The coffee was smooth and the bagel, whoa! It was the perfect bagel. I sat there on a busy weekend morning and saw the line nearly extend out the door at one point. It's worth waiting in line for. It's also worth grabbing a seat and staying for a while, the interior is adorable and very inviting! The next time I went I got a iced chai latte with another egg and cheese- this time on a hard roll. I thought the plain bagel was peak but the hard roll was actually JUST AS GOOD! The iced chai was perfection. I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

First time here and pleasantly surprised! I thought it was a hole in the wall dive shop but it is very cute and modern inside. Good amount of seating with a few tables outside. My daughter got a spinach and mushroom egg wrap that was nice and thick. She ordered me a cortado extra hot like I like it. Tasty and yes extra hot! The staff are polite and welcoming, not coffee house pretentious so that was another plus! Next time I've over this way I will keep this place in mind for sure! read more

When visiting my friend, this coffee shop is always a must before we begin our day. Each drink that I've had from here is delicious and so well crafted. There's never been a time when something was wrong or didn't taste good. From their lucky charms latte and the peach cobbler specials, they never disappoint. Daily Grind is such a welcoming space! We loved learning about the back story of how it started. Growing up in the town, Evan wanted a place that brought the locals together. He also finds ways to incorporate local businesses too. You can tell how much he pours his heart into the shop and the community. We also LOVE the whole beans to roast at home. Highly recommend the PB or Almond joy lattes & to top it off, they make KILLER breakfast sandwiches. We mean killer....You'll regret it if you don't grab one with your coffee! Key Features: Fast service and warm environment! Has some parking out front and easy to locate off the main road. Table and high top bar to sit at when not busy. Breakfast food menu options are very good, quick and fresh! By far one of the best bagel and wraps had around the area for breakfast. Updating my review so it's all together. If you enjoy local coffee stops that excel and breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and a delicious array of flavor options then daily grind is for you. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and always helpful in recommending things to try next, the shop is very cool where you could come in to sit and enjoy some coffee and get some work or school work done if you needed to. So Unionville in the span of a few months went from a coffee desert, to a breakfast haven with both this and Bruno's Cafe opening up of late. But this place deserves to stand on its own. I ordered on the app, and 10 minutes later when I arrived, it was on the counter waiting with a smile from the staff. I went old school with a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a bagel with a hash brown and some coffee. Both were terrific. The bagel was fresh and the egg was cooked just right. The everything bagel could've been a little more everything (it had plenty of sesame and poppy, to be clear) but that's an individual preference. Regardless, it was a hearty portion and a good value. Enjoyed the coffee too. The inside is nice as well and the service, as I noted was quick and friendly. Definitely much better than those chain places around. Worth a visit for sure and for me, many more returns. Welcome to the neighborhood. read more

Love the Daily Grind! Their lattes are spot on, as well as their matcha! The Snickerdoodle latte and lavender matcha are my go-to's right now. Their breakfast sandwiches and wraps are also amazing. I love the sauce and cheese they use! Also- cookies are delicious if you can get them and I love that they stock local raw honey to buy. Everyone is friendly there as well. 04/03/2024 Stopped in for a couple take-out cappuccinos around noon. A small yet cozy spot. Many coffee shops I've tried in the past burn the milk while frothing or have not-so-good espresso. What an amazing addition to Unionville! I enjoyed the S'mores iced coffee; it was perfectly balanced with sweet S'mores and that amazing espresso taste. My sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel was literally everything I needed. The bagel was super fresh, filled with fresh eggs and a perfect sausage patty. Of course, I got extra cheese, which was creamy and delicious. It was very easy to enter and exit the driveway, with plenty of parking options. I waited in line behind 4 others, and the girls at the counter took care of all of us very quickly. The owner was right there in the action and having friendly banter with other guests in the shop. It's not often you see a small business like this get it right so quickly. I will certainly take the drive again to support this local gem! read more

Exactly what Farmington/Unionville needed. I have been dying to have a local coffee shop in the area instead of the big chains. Staff is welcoming. Dining area is well lit and clean. Coffee is bold but smooth, fresh and it smells amazing in there. They offer seasonal specials on a board near the counter which adds a creative touch to the basics. Kuddos for harvest bakery sweets too, they are the best! I highly recommend stopping in if you are passing by. read more

I went in there once. Bagels are OK...better bagels than most places. (Still trying to find bagels that are comparable to northern New Jersey... ) - This is still a new establishment. Service was very good. Very polite. The bagel sandwich I got was edible. I'll have to try a different kind next time. Overall positive experience and would patron this place again. read more
