Lavender latte with almond milk
Kim V.

A lovely craft coffee roastery and cafe located in Canton. It's located in a baby blue house converted into a coffee shop. On a rainy day, we decided to finally try this place out. What's intriguing is, they roast, package, and brew coffee in this location. They also have fresh pastries. They give back to those in need and make sure farmers are given a fair wage. There were ample parking when we went and the cafe was very cozy. I had their lavender latte with almond milk; this was so creamy and delicious. I can taste the quality in this coffee. My husband had their cold brew and he's a cold brew connoisseur; he said it was one of the best he's had. Overall, a great spot to get your caffeine fix in.

Friendliest people ever! I just wished I was a bit closer to the coffee shop so I could become a regular. Their iced latte with oatmilk is one of the best in the state. Their coffee has a rich flavor and never fails to give me that caffeine buzz! Always a bit busy in there, but never waited too long for my drink.

Date energy bar is big & packed with flavor. The chai has a great flavor. Missing one star in hopes that they create specials or add more drink options to the menu, BUT I have had their coffee in other shops and the consistency of great flavor is there. Happy to see this cute storefront

Definitely a cute shop with very friendly staff! I wouldn't necessarily write home about the coffee, and would certainly classify the drinks as "small and overpriced", but if money's not an issue and you're someone who enjoys the experience of small shops, then it is worth checking out. I enjoyed my experience I just didn't think it was worth the price. I'd probably return for the honey and the baked goods (both local and awesome) but only if I had a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket.

My visit here was unexpected - I was visiting a local crystal shop that is about a 35 minute drive from me, and did a Yelp search on a good coffee shop nearby. As I pulled up to the location, I noticed the cute house, chairs and tables on the porch, and ample parking. The inside is cozy, but really cool. There's artwork, pretty decor, and there's a corner of the shop with items for purchase, including their coffee beans. There are also plenty of seats. I didn't get the names of the two employees who served me, but they were so nice, and their love for, and knowledge about, coffee was so apparent! I went with the Mexican latte because I love Mexican hot chocolate, but can't get it often. It was tasty and creamy. I am keeping this spot in mind for when I'm back in the area, and you should add it to your list!

My mom and I went to Canton this morning. When we were in the mood for coffee, I suggested we go to Giv Coffee. It's a cute little coffee shop, with pleasant baristas. I ordered a latte, and my mom got a cappuccino. They were ready pretty quickly, they came in proper ceramic cups, with beautiful designs on top. My mom had her first sip, "oh this is so delicious" she gasped. Now, I have been to many, many coffee shops with my mom, most of the time she'll get a cappuccino, I have NEVER, EVER before seen her compliment a coffee like she has the one today at Giv. I also really enjoyed my latte. It was thick, creamy and just delightful to sip on! I tried my mom's, it was alright, but I liked mine better. To each their own! She raved about this coffee all day, while we were together. She even told the barista, as we were leaving how much she enjoyed the coffee, and that I'll be writing a 5 star review. Giv is named Giv for good reason. They give to those in need the proceeds of sale of their coffee beans. What's better than that? A brand that works to support those who need it! Little did I know, Giv Coffee was named the best coffee in Connecticut, according to Food & Wine Magazine. Now that's a pretty grand deal!

Definitely my new favorite coffee shop in the greater Hartford area! I've tried a few items on their menu, and all have been delicious. You can't go wrong with their mocha, hot cocoa, and latte. What I love about Giv Coffee is that their in-house baker (an absolute delight to chat with!) makes many of the syrups they use, including vanilla, for which they use real vanilla! The taste of real vanilla in your latte doesn't compare to the artificial stuff you'll find elsewhere. Tip: ask for extra vanilla; it's too good not to. Giv Coffee has an assortment of baked goods, with a few gluten-free and vegan options. Highly recommend the almond flour chocolate chip cookies and the peanut butter cookies, both of which are gluten-free. The inside is cozy, with a decent number of seats. They also have outdoor seating, so you'll likely find a spot. Highly recommend!

Giv Coffee is on my short list of favorite CT coffee businesses. Their coffee has been nationally recognized with Good Food Foundation Awards. Food and Wine Magazine named Giv the Connecticut selection on a 2019 Best Coffee in Every State List. Giv is clearly one of the most respected CT names in coffee. Giv is relevant to me for three distinct reasons. First, they have a great Canton coffee shop powered by people who are knowledgeable about coffee and friendly. Today, I ordered a black cold brew and they were able to tell me that it was made with an Ethiopian and Central American blend. It was very good and balanced. I could taste some of the classic Ethiopian fruit flavors, but they were toned down since it was a blend. I also bought a bag of Kenyan Washed SL 28 and SL 34 whole roasted beans for home use. Giv has inside and outside seating, and the store is modern and clean. Second, Giv coffee is served at multiple popular CT businesses closer to my Newington home. The best iced coffee I've had in a shop this year was a Giv Ethiopian Natural at Hartford's Story and Soil. It was a juice bomb! I've also seen Giv coffees used at HBC in Glastonbury and Heirloom Market in Wethersfield. They each also sell Giv roasted coffee beans. Third, if I'm not in the mood to drive 25 minutes to the Canton shop or to another Giv reseller to buy fresh roasted beans for home use, Giv will fresh-roast and ship them to me. Presently, they have free shipping on orders $25 or above. So, two bags of beans should get you free shipping. I can't speak to how Giv does with fancy coffee beverages, but if you're a person who values the quality of the coffee itself, Giv has got to be near the top of the CT curve. Five Stars

Oh wow, how have I driven past Giv Coffee without ever stepping foot inside for this long?? Cute coffee shop with outdoor seating, perfect for a beautiful morning like today. Unfortunately I was just running in for a coffee between errands and work. There was no line when I walked in, but lots of people enjoying their breakfast both inside and out on the patio. The woman at the counter was very nice. I ordered an iced caramel latte, a fruit crumb bar (couldn't resist) and 2 apricot almond scones for my kids. The latte and crumb bar were out of this world. A million times better than Starbucks and a better variety of treats. I'm tempted to sneak a bite of one of the scones but I guess I'll save those for the kids. Definitely coming back here

oat milk latte and cheddar scone

Was in the area and decided to stop in to get a coffee and some work done. I've heard very good things and even tried giv coffee at other shops (whattup Harford Baking Company) but haven't gotten a chance to try it in house. The vibe is very cozy and hipster. On a Monday afternoon, I actually felt like I was too old to be in there (and I'm 27). It's quite small inside but I was able to snag a table. I ordered an oat milk latte and their savory scone which was a bacon cheddar chive.... it was incredible. I love when cafes have oat milk, I just feel like it adds another level of flavor to lattes! Theirs was definitely one of the best I've had. The scone was perfectly warm and buttery without feeling heavy. Love that they offer guests free WiFi. I was there for a few hours and didn't feel pressured to order more like I've been treated at some cafes. Great vibe and would love to visit again if I'm ever in the area!!

Almond milk lavender latte

My friend and I fell in love with this place when we first discovered their lavender latte. We don't visit as often as we used to but when we do lavender lattes are always what we order. On this last visit my friend ordered a chai lavender latte and I always get an almond milk lavender which by far sounds crazy until you taste it and then that's when you know you fell in love. Their sugar coated Belgian waffles are one of the best Belgian waffles I've had at a coffee shop. You don't even need them warmed to enjoy them but they definitely taste amazing when they are. To be perfectly honest I haven't ventured out of the realms of their waffles and their almond milk lavender latte. I'm sure the other treats are amazing as well as their other drinks. But when you find something that is amazing it is so hard to try other things. I may one day but as of now the waffles and the lattes are my heaven.

It's so delicious and the color is beautiful, perfect for a Halloween/fall treat. The mocha has a rich, but there is a hint of coconut flavor--you don't actually taste the charcoal. Another thing that I like is their tea selection and season tea drinks. During my last visit, I had an Apple Pie Chai which paired well with my Pumpkin Scone. My all time favorite was their Blackberry Mint Chai in the spring. I loved how unique it was and the flavors really worked! My dad really loved their grilled cheese sandwich. It had Swiss, cheddar cheese and he added tomatoes. He says that Dom's makes the best grilled cheese which doesn't surprise me because of the Dom's Cheese shop that is located with the coffee shop. The quality of cheese makes a huge difference. If you are near Dom's and looking for some coffee fuel, give them a try. Their ice cream shop is also next door too.

Their mission is imbued in their staff, products, how they set up their space, and how you order. We came here for breakfast on a weekday and had a lovely experience. They have breakfast and lunch cafe menus (+catering), yummy pastries (cookies, muffins and scones) and various coffees and drinks. We enjoyed the omelette (if you order more than 3 ingredients there's a charge) and the village breakfast which was eggs, potatoes (slightly blackened), sourdough toast (or wheat) and bacon. Prices are fairly standard ($11-14) and portions not very large. The panetonne, toasted coconut, and chocolate chip scones ($5 each) were all good and baked well. The honey latte and hot chocolate (most drinks are $4-8) were also very creamy and delicious, though slightly too sweet for our tastes (made it taste good though!) You order at the counter and then take a table and place a marker with nice words like "love" and then your food is brought to you. The actual space is very inviting, with lots of nooks and crannies (tables with chairs, couches, a fireplace). They also sell t-shirts ($30) and sweatshirts ($40-50?) which are pretty soft material, as well as ground coffee, cards, granola, etc. The other half of their space is their homemade pasta place so it's a unique layout and looked fun as well. There were plenty of customers cycling in and out, many sitting down with a warm drink and a pastry. Parking isn't huge but was not super super small but could be an issue if they got an influx of folks hanging out. Wouldn't blame them though because it's a comfortable place with free wifi. Looking forward to returning! Shopping like Whole Foods, walmart, and Shop Rite are all within a few miles.
