This place was the exact opposite. They also have food trucks and bands on occasion.

The farm store had jams, jellies, apples, gourds, cookies, veggies, pumpkins, mums, hot sauces, etc. They had wheelbarrows for you to use, if you're planning to buy a few big pumpkins. They also had an apple fritter/donut/cider stand. I purchased half a dozen of apple fritters for $8; you can add extra cinnamon sugar. Those apple fritters looked like donut holes but tasted like apple donuts, it was very splendid! Overall, a great spot to stop by if you're into the small town farm vibes. There was a beautiful view of the Heublein tower on the hill and the fall foliage. It's the perfect fall activity!

We bought some honey sticks and popcorn seasoning. On this visit in late June, we wanted to do pick your own blueberries. We were early in the season but there were a few ready to pick. They also have strawberries, sunflowers, and more, throughout the season. They also host a ton events. We enjoyed walking around. There was a playground, maze, and garden. My kids definitely enjoyed the activities. I definitely recommend blueberry picking and can't wait to visit in the fall.

So I can be very critical when necessary. But not with this beautiful family run restaurant and bakery. I never remember names, but the dad was in IT and got out and bought this orchard. Mom does the cooking and baking. And the daughters are the servers. Beautiful vibe and family. And friendly farm cats. A very small but fresh menu. My friend and I both had different quiches. This was the best quiche I ever had!!! We also split a bowl of oatmeal that was filled with goodies...nuts, granola, etc. we both had the tea/lemonade combo that was also wonderful. Then we went into the bakery to pay. But will all the goodies we both bought way too much stuff. In addition to the incredible baked goods they have frozen homemade soups, homemade jellies and jams, local honey, and much more. The sourdough English muffins were excellent. When we left one of the daughters was picking herbs from the raised beds. I had to think long and hard about whether to write this review. I want them to be successful but not too successful. I stopped in their farm bakery and was delighted with the offerings. They had pumpkin whoopie pies, frozen pies, soups, and more. The pumpkin whoopie pies were the best I've ever had. They planted it this way so people can reach it when the fruits are ready to be picked, genius idea. They also grow peaches, plums, nectarines, blueberries, various vegetables, and Asian pears. We went in September for apple picking. The parking lot was spacious, a nice farm stand, a patio area, and a picnic area. This year, apple picking started on 8/31/2024 and ends in late October. You have to check in at the window to purchase a ticket; they give you a bag and ticket for a tractor ride to the apple orchard. The farm stand has donuts, ice cream, cider, slushie, and a cafe. The tractor ride was fun; you can buy a ticket just for the tractor ride alone for $5 or $18 for a bag and tractor ride. We waited about 30 minutes for the tractor; it was the last tractor ride of the day and it was a busy Saturday. We went late in the season so most of the apples were picked over. We were able to get a bag full though. The property was amazing and the view of the hills from the orchard was lovely. After, we sat at the picnic table area and which had fire pits too. They had toys for the kids and there was live music. We tried out their hard cider (4-pack $24) and it was good. Overall, it's a fun place to do a fall festivitiy.

We're jammin' I want to jam it with you…read moreWe're jammin', jammin' And I hope you like jammin' too (Bob Marley - Jamming) One of the nicest moments we had at the Goshen Stampede was our visit to the Simply Jam booth where we chatted with the host, tried some samples, and bought a jar of their "Hot" Jalapeno Jam. They operate their business out of a household in Barkhamstead, CT where they hand craft six varieties of jalapeno jams. The basic jalapeno jams comes in three heat levels - mild, hot, and extra hot. Or you can go the flavored route and add garlic, mint or cranberry to the jalapeno. An 8 ounce jar costs $7, and their website says the jams are available at a dozen stores clustered to the northwest of Hartford and along the CT-NY border down to the Bronx. They also have a website for mail orders. I love seeing successful small businesses that put out great products. Try one of their jars, and I bet you'll like jammin' too.

It's no longer in operation and now the apple cider is brought in from Riverview Farms and sold alongside the famous apple fritters which is not the same. Also there is huge displays of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes along with white pumpkins and gourds available and sold along with scare crows and corn stacks.They draw in a huge crowds on weekends and warned that in addition to the throngs of people clamoring for their Fall fix and Autumn photo opportunity. The traffic congestion goes along with the location. A lot of out of state cars of visitors that come on the weekends for the month of October. Don't be turned off as it's a great place to visit.

Folks it isn't just another farm where you can snag a pumpkin. Old Cider Mill is one of the OLDEST operating cider mill in the U.S. Yes, in the entire U.S, opening operations in the 1870s. This cider mill is situated on a cute little farm called Riverview Farms. Its important to know that if you are looking for a large farm where you can all day "pick your own", corn mazes, and more, this place isn't it. But I found this place a cute destination that has a few things to do with my toddler for 1-2 hrs. When you pull in to the farm, the old building is literally the first thing you see from the road with gords, pumpkins, apples and more spread out to purchase. Very similar to an open layout farmers market. A lot of the fruits they have for purchase aren't grown by them but are locally grown from the Glastonbury area. The parking is up the side and in the back. There is plenty of parking. Parking is on a wide dirt road with pull in parking on the left and right. I had no issues getting in and leaving. They make FRESH apple fritters and of course apple cider. I got hot apple cider from the food truck they have but id recommend just buying their cold apple cider inside the barn (if you dont want it warm) and BYOC to drink it with the apple fritters from the truck. For me, I wish I did because my daughter did better with drink it from a sippy cup. Where you will spend the bulk of your time and which I thoroughly enjoyed was the petting zoo. The cost to get a cup of animal feed is only a $1 or $2. They also give you a feeding stick to put the feed on so your children do not need to put their hands near the animals mouths. You will NEED cash to do this activity since its so cheap. You can pay at the entrance of petting zoo. If you dont have cash, you can still get tickets/tokens (dont remember what it was) inside their general store found inside the old barn building in the front but you need to purchase other stuff (I think there was a card minimum). There was no ATMs. I planned to purchase homemade stuff inside the store anyways. The petting zoo has all your standard farm animals (chickens, roosters, sheep, goats and more). There is plenty of space inside to move around, so even if its busy, you wont have to wait to feed the animals. The general store is bigger than it looks from the outside as they have like half level room (kind of like a basement that you can go down into with old gift shop stuff). They have hand made crafts, nice decorative stuff, locally made dressings, jams, picked stuff, salsa, and of course, apple based products like donuts (made at another farm), apple cider and more. I'd go here again if I'm on the area as its an easy and cute place to bring your children for a quick 1-2 hrs if you don't want or can invest an entire day to a fall activity. The chef Ryan is so talented and passionate. The whole story as to how this started and how the team came together is so inspiring. The food was fantastic as was the drinks, ambiance and service. Follow them on socials-they do the farm dinners through October and then switch to cafes and coffee shops during the colder months. This meal was truly a highlight of 2026!

They also have other locally made products from around CT including milk, cheeses, honey, jams, maple syrup, pies, ice cream, plants, dog treats, and more! I got a bottle of Chocolate Milk from Hyde's Dairy Farm (located in Franklin, CT) and it was so chocolatey and delicious! The stand is open every day 9AM-6:30PM from Memorial Day through December 31st, and Tuesday-Sunday 10AM-5:30PM from January 2nd to Memorial Day. From November through May, their CT Handmade Gift Shop is open and filled with beautiful creations made by local artists throughout the state. When I went, there was one female employee working behind the counter who was very friendly. Make sure to stop by and check out Killam and Bassette Farmstead!
