what's better than a dog friendly brewery?!
    Elisa F.

Spent a beautiful fall afternoon at Maple View Farm last weekend! The fact that they serve their craft beers in mason jars sold me alone! Great prices for good beer and I loved that flights are served in mini mason jars. My favorite was the cranberry blonde. The brewery is dog friendly and there's plenty of space to social distance. Since we went on an oddly beautiful weekend, it got pretty packed around 3pm and there were quite a few guests for the live band. They have local food trucks visiting as well! Make sure you bring chairs/blankets/etc. We'll definitely be back on the next gorgeous day!

This has been on my list to try. I was lured by the love music that was playing. It was a bit chilly so e opted for being inside, playing cards and watching March madness. We ordered a New England IPA. it was good - not great. They sell only a couple of snacks. One is s'mores and the marshmallows are free. Very kid friendly.

So much fun and so many ways to enjoy this brewery. With family, on your own or with buds. Lots of seating and outdoor activities. Many excellent brews here, tasty and unique. I went a few days after a rain with Cole Haans with a split in the sole and was fine strolling extensively. A budding passion for brewery and taste can be found here. The state requires that a few beers be made from property-grown hops, if you are a beer snob you may want to steer clear of those two, but I tried Barleywine pint and was delighted with the unique flavor. Rosemary Ginger Ale was also good, as well as 'Saison.' Lots of kids play areas, hipsters and locals made for a fun cool crowd. We'll be back. A no- brainer in spring and summer. The interior is really nicely done and would be fun in winter as well, but if you're eschewing other breweries in favor of this one off the beaten path, you may be setting yourself up for disappointment in winter. If you're going out of your way, stick to warmer days for greater reward. Of course other breweries may not have farm store and outdoor kids activities.

2 sets of flights a little over $14

Now has a brewery! My friend and i came here 3/16 There was plenty of parking and friendly faces. We were greeted with smile and waves guiding us where to park. It's all dirt road so where sneakers or boots NO heels. The beer is very unique there were 7 to choose from. Flights are 3 beers so we chose to pay for 2 flights (6 beers) for a little over $14 which is not bad. The place is very small right now as they just opened up. It's a very relaxed setting laid back come as you are which is nice. Very little seating i hope they get more soon. We will be going back it was so relaxing.

It's a cute farm but the beer isn't very good and the smoke from the fire pits makes it uncomfortable.

There's some outdoor seating, like chairs and Adirondacks, but we headed straight inside to the brewery for what we came for.

They offer German white hardneck garlic, seed garlic, garlic bulbs, and garlic braids. The farm stand is in an old tobacco barn. I went a couple times and thought it was awesome. The prices were great and they had a huge variety of produce. One time, they posted on social that the flowers were free to pick. If you love fresh produce and supporting a small business, I highly recommend.

"This is the end Beautiful friend…read moreThis is the end Of our elaborate plans, the end" (The Doors) The Garlic Farm's season will end on October 12th, when their doors will be closed for the winter and reopen in the spring. But the end of their season comes with a fantastic bonus for anyone that can get over to West Granby before October 12. That bonus is as many flowers as possible that you can cut and take home from their acres of flower farms. For Free. We saw people out there today with shopping bags, and laundry baskets scooping up their share of gorgeous flowers. Although some of the flowers (especially the sunflowers were way past peak), rest assured there were a ton of gorgeous fresh flowers representing every color of the rainbow still available. We cut and took home enough to fill three vases, of which we kept one and donated the other two to the local Senior Center to brighten the desks of two administrators. So, if you are in the area and have a hankering for some free flowers, set your navigation system to West Granby and enjoy. Just do it before October 12.

They planted it this way so people can reach it when the fruits are ready to be picked, genius idea. They also grow peaches, plums, nectarines, blueberries, various vegetables, and Asian pears. We went in September for apple picking. The parking lot was spacious, a nice farm stand, a patio area, and a picnic area. This year, apple picking started on 8/31/2024 and ends in late October. You have to check in at the window to purchase a ticket; they give you a bag and ticket for a tractor ride to the apple orchard. The farm stand has donuts, ice cream, cider, slushie, and a cafe. The tractor ride was fun; you can buy a ticket just for the tractor ride alone for $5 or $18 for a bag and tractor ride. We waited about 30 minutes for the tractor; it was the last tractor ride of the day and it was a busy Saturday. We went late in the season so most of the apples were picked over. We were able to get a bag full though. The property was amazing and the view of the hills from the orchard was lovely. After, we sat at the picnic table area and which had fire pits too. They had toys for the kids and there was live music. We tried out their hard cider (4-pack $24) and it was good. Overall, it's a fun place to do a fall festivitiy.

Enjoyed apple picking ( less apples then usual this year sadly) and gone up in price but overall great experience. Large farm and hay rides. Also was able to sit and enjoy cider and donuts. There was a line during peak season but goes pretty quick if towards the afternoon. Overall very nice

From flowers to soaps, vegetables to donuts, fruit to teas, knives to artisan creations, tie-dye…read moret-shirts to smoothies and chili dogs, the South Windsor Farmers Market has it all!! Set in the open Nevers Road Park, this market offers a variety local goods and a fun morning. When my friends and I walked over from nearby parking areas (which were plentiful and easy to get to), the smells of freshly cooked donuts from Faddy's Donut Shop and the sounds of a Grateful Dead tribute band met us. After grabbing some donuts, instead of sitting in the nice rest area set up near the band, we began down the line of stands. We found a little of everything we wanted and more!! We grabbed a couple slices of pie from Granny's Pie Factory, a brown butter dark chocolate chip cookie from LaBrioche Bakery, a couple of jars of homemade artisan teas from Whole Harmony, and a bouquet of freshly picked flowers from the Syme Family Farm. Shopping here can get a bit pricey, for example, a South Windsor Farmers Market tote bag was $5; however, you're supporting local businesses, many of which don't have storefronts. It's well worth chipping in a few extra bucks with the quality of the goods and the personal attention you receive at the stands. I would rather save my money and spend it here than at big chain stores that don't need it. Every vendor we went to, especially the individuals at the Syme Family Farm and the Whole Harmony stands, were extremely kind and helpful. The vendor of Whole Harmony allowed us to try a couple of teas he had out as well as the lavender lemonade (all of which were extremely delicious); he also told me how to properly steep the teas and gave me a loyalty card that offers a free jar after ten purchases. The vendors at the Syme Family Farm stand told me how they handpicked each flower, and wrapped up my bouquet--which was thoughtfully put together with care--and put it in a plastic baggie with wet paper towels around the stems to keep the flowers hydrated after I asked if they would be all right since we were not going directly home. I was very impressed by these two vendors' professionalism and kindness. The South Windsor Farmers Market is definitely a farmers market you need to check out!! It's open every Saturday in the morning (which is an extremely convenient and great time) from the middle of June until the middle of October. The organization running also has a list of what vendors will be there each week on a document on the website. You'll really enjoy every minute of being at this market, and you will undoubtedly find spectacular goods!!
