The food I've gotten has been fresh and delicious in my recipes. Some vendors are organic others are just local. Either way local is best. Here is to hoping that it's popularity makes it a staple of the area and it returns next spring!

It is still owned an operated by the Wade family. I drove by and saw the huge Wade's sign and a busy parking lot; it was spacious and easy to pull in and out, just becareful with incoming traffic. The outside area had various plants. When I walked inside, it was spacious and a very organized store. They had jams, snacks, produce, pies, baked goods, etc. I was gretted by the friendly employees. On this visit, I purchased strawberry-rhubarb jam, cookies, an onion, and corn muffin. Those were all very fresh and tasty. Everything in the store was fresh looking. I saw the corn after but was already out the door so I'm looking forward to going back for that.

There is excellent signage on Farmington Avenue that leads you to a big lot behind the market. We saw a smallish number of eclectic vendors - a Jamaican food stand, a bakery, a few produce stands, a jewelry stand, an artwork stand, a Hartford Library on Wheels truck, and more. We made two purchases - a Nutella babka from Manchester's Wicked Good Bakes and a Jerk Barbecue Mushroom Patty Panada from Hartford's The Ital Juicery Company. I had an absolute blast at the Ital Juicery stand. They had three generations of charming and delightful women behind the counter. That Patty Panda (sort of a cross between an Empanada and a Jamaican Patty) was a good-sized portion, somewhat justifying the hefty $10 price tag, but the flavor was amazing. Smoky, savory, and spicy, I mean sneaky spicy. Not sure what kind of peppers were in there, but if you told me they were Jamaican Scotch Bonnets I would not be surprised. That afterburn lasted over half an hour. I'll definitely be on the lookout for The Ital Juicery Company when I make the rounds of upcoming Farmer's Markets. As for the West End Farmer's Market, they're open on Tuesdays between June and September from 4pm-7pm. The hours change slightly to 3pm-6pm in October. Friendly, knowledgeable and willing to share suggestions with the community. Kind and supportive. Every table I touched was so passionate about what they have grown, or made to offer. To future customers I would like to share don't ever judge a book by its cover. The road work did not stop me. So glad I found my way. From the freshest fruit of the season all the way to the Maple Syrup, Sour Dough. Micheal and his abundant happy herbs, jewelry and soap. The comfrey plants were such a joy to my eyes. For my purposes was good enough to get some farm fresh veggies as well as Grandma's blueberry pie. All the produce and baked goods are great quality and you get the added bonus o supporting local which is awesome. Also worth noting the market is only there Tuesday's and Fridays I believe through the summer and early fall.

Oh no, that would have been too ordinary. Instead, they kicked off the market with a baguette slicing ceremony! They are brand new and are opened from June 19 to October 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You'll find them in the Town Hall parking lot. Vendors listed on the website include a Wellness booth, farm and bakery stands, Italian Ice, seafood, mushrooms, sustainable animal products, Vodka sauce (fantastic), cheese, salsa, coffee, I'm not sure I saw all of them there in the heat yesterday, so maybe there will be more as we move away from summer into the fall. We picked up two ears of corn from Halls Farm in Simsbury and had them last night with dinner, and yes, they were very good. Parking is free and super easy in the massive town hall parking lot.

Both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's made @cticecreamtour's Top 15 CT Creameries. My original reviews for both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's were both good btw. I just didn't initially connect with the flavors I tried in the way that I did with my other CT favorites. Since those initial reviews, everything I tried at each has been a banger. At Tulmeadow, I recently had Red Raspberry Chocolate Chip, Marshmallow Toasted Cornflake, Chocolate Raspberry Raspberry Curd and the best flavor I've had this year -- Double Raspberry Crumbcake. The flavors all popped. The use of intensely flavored raspberry curd in a couple of the ice creams was next level. The colors were right on. The texture was top tier. Service was friendly and the farm setting adds to the experience. Tulmeadow is 5 Stars and I'm upgrading my earlier review.

If you have time, get your tush over to the market on Thurs afternoons. You'll find tents of live music, tons of local goodies (grass fed meats, cheeses, baked goods, etc), and representation from great organizations (even the Community Farm of Simsbury was there!) Such a nice late morning/early afternoon break!

They offer shopping carts but I prefer the basket on wheels due to packed aisles. The freezer section offer lots of frozen foods and treats. They have fresh kimchi!
