During my visit, the trees were full of Pink Lady, Evercrisp, Red Delicious, and Empire apples. After tasting these fresh, juicy picks straight from the tree, I don't think I can go back to store-bought apples - not that I really have a choice! Every bite was crisp perfection, and honestly, this might become an annual tradition for me. You can choose from a few bag sizes when you go apple-picking: Large ($40) - labeled at 30 lbs Medium ($25) - labeled at 12-15 lbs Small ($15) - labeled at 7-8 lbs Separate from the orchard, there's a large open field that's perfect for picnics, with plenty of seating and cozy fire pits to keep you warm. It's a beautiful, family-friendly space -- kids running around, birthday celebrations happening, and couples just relaxing in the fall breeze. You don't need to pick apples or pay any additional fees to enjoy this area, which is a big plus. Bring your own chairs if you want extra comfort. There were three food trucks on-site during my visit. My favorite was Pika Food Truck -- their Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich was delicious. Chef O's Streatery offered empanadas but they weren't my favourite-- a bit too salty and lacking flavor. We also tried a flight of ciders, which was such a fun way to sample different seasonal flavors. Before you leave, make sure to check out the scenic overlook -- it's stunning, especially with the fall foliage. I loved that they even had a tripod set up for easy photo-taking. On Sunday my Bro brought up a 'fruits of the forest pie" from ROGERS FARMS, SOUTHINGTON, CT. I'm not a pie lover (prefer cakes); how- ever, this was the best home-made pie I've tasted recently! The pie crust was home made, flaky, delicious (unlike the frozen pie crust I use when asked to make a pie). The fruit selection was tasty, this priced about $20.00!) I have fine pie places near where I live but Rogers is better, in my opinion. Take the family, pick fruit, buy a pie, donuts, et al -- you'll have an enjoyable family experience. Out, cruising on this perfect summer day, and the roads took me here to Rogers Orchards. I grew up in Southington, and this was always a place to go in the fall, and when I was younger, my parents would bring us here and we would pet the bunnies and get stuff for grandma's house. So here I am back at Rogers Orchard, and it's just beautiful. Fresh vegetables and fruits, recently harvested corn on the cob, specialties, canned goods, apple cider donuts, and the star of the show... The fresh apple cider. If you are anywhere in the area, this is a wonderful stop to browse and impulse buy. Also, the prices are great on all the fruits and vegetables. I managed to pick up some pickled beets, some small pickles, a half dozen apple cider donuts, and of course, for the ride home, a nice cup of the freshly made apple cider. This apple cider was beyond delicious. I knew I should've bought a quart of it. Oh well, this will give me a reason to get back there soon. Bring your camera, as the Rogers Orchards grounds are really nice for a picture taking. For every season, they offer the freshest fruits and vegetables in town. They have pick your own apples for the upcoming fall season. They even have a new cider truck and store and fruit baskets for gifts for family and friends. Rogers Orchards is a true staple to the Southington area. A nice place my family took me to during my visit to Connecticut. This was a big place with plenty of parking and room to walk around. The people were really nice and helpful. They even were patient to my aunt that was asking them to go get some stuff for her in the back. They offer baked goods, apples, honey, apple cider and so much more. They actually offer a cup of apple cider at the beginning for a $1 to try or if you're thirsty. It was very sweet but tasted good. I did buy some of their donuts which were pretty good but I heated them up at home and they tasted better. Some of what I got seemed like a day or 2 old but honestly was still good. We went to the farm store on a rainy morning, we were the only ones inside. Like a little slice of apple pie heaven. I'm very familiar with the classic New England/Massachusetts farms and orchards, and this one is authentic, and is one I would recommend. The apple selection is abundant and crisp, even in the off season. They're up front with customers about where their produce is sourced: apples from the farm, citrus from Florida. They have a variety of other farm fresh goods: excellent chocolate milk, their own non alcoholic and hard apple ciders, Vermont creamery cheddy topper cheese, donuts, and more. 5 star apple cider donuts! The perfect blend of sugar cinnamon on the outside of a slightly crispy donut with a super soft inside with pieces of apple. They have a ton of apples in cute baskets that look fantastic, a small assortment of cheeses from arethusa, and some frozen items like pot pie and ice cream and pasta from other CT vendors. The pies were running low when we visited otherwise I definite would have gotten a small apple and a small pumpkin, a return visit before thanksgiving may be in order. Wow was this place packed on Sunday! A basket of the best cortland apples cost a small fortune but OMG were they fresh and delicious! The apple fritters were flying off the shelf. I wish they had shopping carts for all that i wanted to buy. It was hard juggling all that I was buying and ended up tipping my basket of apples everywhere. Everyone was so helpful gathering them for me and the sales people were so nice! Although you can have a short wait in a long line, they move customers through quickly and the products are excellent. As apple picking time draws to a close, it was our last chance to get some favorite late in the season spectacular types of apples. We chose a great day since the impressive stand was fully stocked and not too crowded. Colorful awe inspiring gourds in all sizes, shapes and fall colors greeted us at the door. Check out the crazy shapes in the enclosed photo. The apples were plentiful and we chose a total of four quarts of the Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji and Macoun. The bakery had our favorite magnificent 12 grain Cranberry walnut bread and of course we needed the phenomenal Full Bloom Apiaries honey produced right in Connecticut to go with it. The lines moved quickly and the cashiers were friendly and helpful. We love supporting this incredible farm. You can sense the multiple generations of this astonishing family's history, pride and hard work in establishing all of the apple trees you see on the way to the top of the orchards. Our family and extended family go apple picking every year and we always pick a different orchard to visit. This was our pick this year and we were not disappointed! Easy apple picking, very straightforward and easy to access for all ages. After picking we always stop in at the farm store to see what delights they have in stock. We left with their apple cider, very fresh and clean tasting! We bought some fresh ears of corn ( the best corn we had all season!) Some yummy Carmel apple dip to try at a later time. We also had to bring home some apple cider donuts to share with friends. The store became quite busy and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. Great overall experience. Fantastic for us ! We didn't want a long line or a hay ride.... just apples , pumpkins and donuts. Drive past the main store, follow the signs and park in a little parking lot where u hop out.... pre pay at the little counter for a bag and walk into the adjacent orchard and start picking. Simple. Easy and totally what we wanted given we had a short time frame with a toddler and new born. They also had a small section to pick your own pumpkins, so we got both! Then on the way home doubled back to the main store for some hot donuts. :) . Now its fall folks. They were warm and delicious!!!! Needed to ask for some tho, they had only cold ones out... Overall great experience for what we were looking for. No line, easy drive to the parking lot, adjacent orchard allows u to focus on picking and double bsck to rhe car easily if u left something behind. When I lived in CT, we would go to Roger's Orchards every year for the apple cider donuts, where they were big and the best tasting. Since moving to FL, every time we go back we go and get some. Never an issue till this time....went in on Saturday to get some to bring home with me and wow!! They are about half the size and I think you forgot to add the apple cider in them. And, on top of that...more money for less quality. The plain tasted like dry cake donuts and the sugar coated, all you could taste was the sugar. Won't be back. read more

Even in March, there are plenty of apples. Stopping here is an autumn-in-New-England fix, even in Spring. There are so many other goodies at this Bicentennial farm site including jams and jellies galore, a frozen case of local pies and meat pies, some of which are Rogers' own. A case of local dairy goods is there in case you're one of those apple pie/cheddar folks, and there's a wall of maple goods beside the baked case including the most awesome apple cider donuts, as autumn-in-New-England as it gets. A basket of local soaps is the treat by the register. Come back in actual autumn, and you'll enjoy the bunny hutch, pumpkins, and CT grown produce, or the pick your own stand. If you're on a pie/sauce/drying spree, you can find bushels and baskets of apple (and seasonally peaches, and maybe other stone fruits) seconds for a little less, plus ripe bananas for banana bread. Rogers is a great farm spot with great parking, and bonus, great views of the reservoir. read more

Rogers is everything you've ever wanted in a country farm store. Built into the interior of an antique barn, the store is warm, inviting, and a great place to visit with the family. Tons of parking out front and off to the side, so you'll never have an issue unless it's completely jam-packed. It boasts a huge selection of its own produce, baked goods, dairy goods, and specialty items like fruit preserves. The apple dumplings, cider donuts, and pies looked amazing! The apple selection rivals and perhaps TOPS most other well-known orchards in Connecticut! I could've stayed for hours picking out sweet treats and apples with my family. The smell is delicious coming from the bakery and the produce aisle. Just so many beautiful colors too, what a great idea to have the apples out in bins like that! The apples we purchased were phenomenal, despite being off harvest season they were crisp and delicious! I'll never buy from the store again! Rogers continues to be a family owned business, is a local farm, and a staple in the local economy. This orchard only offers "pick your own" apples. They are niche orchard but have plenty of trees to pick from to the point that I've never had an issue getting fresh apples. The country store at the entrance of the farm is cute and reasonably priced. They offer a choice of pumpkins in October but are only available in the front no pumpkin patch picking. I love their apple donuts and apple cider. The issue I have with them is due to their smaller size their parking and traffic control is a scary situation (especially when packed). read more

We left the farm very disappointed at what was one of our favorite places to shop on a lovely fall day. Yes, the store was crowded, but never before had it been so ineffectively handled. Signs posted close to the ceilings did nothing to direct confused customers to the cashiers. The usual cashier stand was closed but people stood in a line wondering when it would open. If you asked staff where to go to check out they'd wave their arm and vaguely direct you, "That way". The curbside pick up cashier appeared to be also the regular check out cashier, but we never did get an answer from staff if it was. We were told to NOT use the bakery cashier but people leaving told us you could use that cashier to check out. There appeared to be no senior staff who might be a supervisor to prevent confusion and answer questions while we were there. One couple said they had been standing in what they thought was a cashier line but it wasn't. Other customers we talked with contemplated just walking out with their apples without paying. We are so saddened by the lack of supervision for what was always a relaxing visit to the farm on a fall day. read more

The peach festival was mobbed! Cars everywhere and people likewise. We bought fresh peaches that will ripen in a few days. We also bought a peach pie, more to follow on that. This location is a ways off Queen St, and is probably about the same size as the other location but feels older and more farmy. Lots of apples and apple related food products. I stopped in for some cider and it was sweet and delicious. Lots of nice looking baked goods here too. If you like the farm market thing, this is a good place to stop. read more
