Roast beef Ruben with lame slaw.

Used to be a huge fan of Catsup & Mustard. The place over on Main st in Manchester. Corey Wry had several restaurants in the area and they tended to be pretty good. I guess he sold this place and somehow things have gone a-wry. The French fries were good. Did I write home about them? Nay. Roast beef Ruben was overcooked, the sauerkraut didnt taste like sauerkraut, what was it?? Just weird. Staff was pleasant but appeared overwhelmed. Old timey vibe, felt like I was in a restaurant back in 1979. Dunno whats with the place, there is a decent lunchtime crowd so people like it. Just not me I guess.

They stopped caring, and it shows My go to breakfast spot in the area was on vacation today. So I went to my next choice for breakfast in the area. Was the first person in. Took a seat at the bar and looked through the menu. Asked for some modified items, and was given a hard no on each one. Don't mind that, not all places can tweak the menu. So I opted for the chorizo hash with poached eggs and sourdough toast. Got a coffee, was Omar's and a bit weak. Needed a good amount of cream and Splenda to give it any flavor. As the morning continued, others were seated and got to order. There was a single server manning the entire front of house. So it was a lot for them to manage. She tried her best, even made a coffee refill run, but it's clear they don't have adequate staffing. Then the food started coming out, and many others got served before me. Essentially I was the first to order and the 5th to get my order. Assumed the kitchen got slammed, had a single cook at the helm and my order just takes longer to prep. 30 minutes after ordering, the food came out. It was... very bad. The eggs were hard boiled. I had to hunt to find the tiny pocket of yolk in each one. Rubbery white balls of egg. On top of an incinerated hash, with a single piece of cheese put on top to hide the incineration. Potato shoestrings, prepped from frozen and cooked to the consistency of potato sticks I assumed my order was a mistake, but I looked at the food that got delivered before mine and saw the pattern. Unsoaked French toast with little cinnamon, overcooked eggs and heavily cooked hash. It was clear that standards are long forgotten and the kitchen has all but given up. 15 minutes later (45 minutes in total), the server finally gets around to me. It's only after I hand her my money that she asked how my food was, and by that time the damage was already done. Nothing that was coming out of the kitchen was going to be good, and there was not enough front of house to manage the amount of customers. I cannot say this location is worth it for breakfast. It used to be good, but as a breakfast spot it's very lackluster. If you do come here: expect a wait, order basic, and don't expect good.

Stopped in recently for the first time for breakfast, with four friends. Had heard some really good things... Ample parking in a strip mall. The layout is like a wide corridor, w counter / stools on one side and tables opposite side. Greeted and seated by Dana, who was very capable, checking on us regularly. I had my usual eggs over CBH w rye toast. The food was good, but two things stood out. First, only one piece of toast. Second, consensus of the group was that the food was not as hot as it should have been. The CBH and potatoes (for those that had them) were warm, not hot. For us, P on W was ok, but did not have a WOW factor. I may try again, but for lunch, not breakfast. 3.5 warm stars

Interesting morning at this stop. Had to wait to be seated at 8 am. After a good 5 minute wait. The waitress came out and told us to sit anywhere. So why was there a wait to be seated sign? I have to say it's cute inside. I do find all the different tv's going on different stations a bit overwhelming . It took a while to order , I am not blaming the waitress! She was the only waitress on a Saturday morning. I think management issued the mark on that. The food was good. But it's hard to mess us breakfast food. Coffee which is big for me , was good and hot. Though again because waitress was on her own, not plentiful. Would I try again? Truthfully unsure. I find the lack of staff off putting

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. From the outside you wouldn't expect to see how nice the interior is. Ok let's talk food . My meal was delicious , the burger cooked perfectly and the pretzel bun was delicious . The fries were warm not hot but good nonetheless . I'll definitely be going back for lunch in the future

Situated in The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk, Burtons Grill offers a bar, a spacious dining room, a seasonal patio, and a space suited for large groups. My friends wanted to take me out for my birthday and asked where I'd like to go. I chose this spot because I'd heard so many good things about it. Since the weather was pleasant in October, we decided to sit outside. For starters, we shared a rustic bread roll served with pesto, herb, and garlic butter, and olive tapenade. In my opinion, the olive tapenade really stole the show, giving the bread a bold flavor. The bread itself was soft, warm, and utterly delicious. We also tried the signature wings coated in maple sriracha and the Memphis dry rub wings. Although I couldn't distinctly taste the maple or sriracha, the wings were still packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned. We also ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which was rich with spinach, artichoke hearts, parmesan, tomato-jalapeño relish, and served with tortilla chips. It was genuinely tasty. For my main course, I went with the Steak Frites, featuring a charred flatiron steak served with béarnaise sauce and Parmesan-truffle fries. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The truffle fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the truffle flavor really made them stand out. It was a simple yet satisfying dish. My friends chose the crispy fish sandwich, comprising fried haddock, pickled red onions, pickles, tartar sauce, all nestled in a brioche bun with a side of French fries. Another friend ordered the general Tso bowl, which included braised chicken glazed with general Tso sauce, along with charred broccoli, a rice-and-quinoa blend, julienned vegetables, toasted almonds, scallions, cilantro, sesame seeds, and ginger aioli. Both of them said their meals were fantastic. Our server was friendly, lively, and attentive throughout the meal. I definitely plan on returning to try more items from the menu.

They all seem to add a bit of class. For my first drink, I'm am having a Cosmopolitan. A Cosmopolitan (or Cosmo) is a popular pink cocktail made with vodka, triple sec (or Cointreau), cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice, typically shaken and served in a martini glass. It's known for its tart, fruity, and slightly sweet flavor profile, often garnished with an orange twist. While served in a martini glass, it's not a true martini as it lacks vermouth. The drink has nice presentation, chilled, garnished and well-balanced. For my first food item, I'm having a Chef's Salad. A chef salad is a hearty American main-course salad with a base of lettuce topped with various ingredients like hard-boiled eggs, one or more meats (such as ham, turkey, or chicken), cheese, tomatoes, and cucumbers, often with croutons and a vinaigrette or ranch dressing. I am having vinaigrette for my dressing. Oh yeah! Nice restating! This is good! I see romaine lettuce, olives, eggs, turkey, ham, canned green and red peppers, pepperoni, cheese, picked onions, cucumbers, etc. It's a big portion size for $7! For my next food item, I'm having the (1/2 lb) Mussels. Mussels are a popular, sustainable, and nutritious seafood known for their briny flavor, often served steamed in broth with wine, garlic, and herbs, and paired with crusty bread. They are filter feeders, rich in protein, omega-3s, and vitamin B12, and are farmed responsibly, making them an environmentally friendly choice that improves water quality. These are good you. They are hot. I like the grilled, buttered bread. Make sure to squeeze the lemon on top. This is the "red" inversion (white is an option). These are good! I love this broth! For my next food item, I'm having the Bogner's Chili Cheese Dog. Bogner Quality Meats in Manchester, CT, offers a selection of premium, house-made hot dogs and franks, featuring all-beef skinless, natural casing, and kielbasa dogs. Known for high-quality meats since 1942, they also offer bulk 5 lb packages, perfect for grilling, along with a full service butcher counter. I only get to eat this kind twice a year! This is all beef and locally made. What's better than this?! This is great!!! Love that pickle and those thick kettle chips! For my second drink, I'm having a margarita. A Margarita is a classic cocktail made with tequila, orange liqueur (like Cointreau or triple sec), and lime juice, often served in a salt-rimmed glass with a lime wedge garnish. It can be served shaken and "on the rocks" (with ice), blended with ice, or straight up, and variations include different tequilas (like reposado) or sweeteners like agave syrup. No margarita glass or sake/sugar rim but it is nicely garnished and tastes good. The floating orange is odd. Still, it's quite good! For my next food item, I'm having the Geno's Meatballs. Gino D'Acampo's traditional meatball recipe features a mix of minced pork and beef, soaked bread, egg, pecorino cheese, and parsley, typically simmered in a simple tomato sauce. For best results, brown the meatballs in olive oil, then simmer slowly for at least 30 minutes to two hours for a rich flavor. I like the cheese strips on top. Lots of sauce! These taste great! For my last drink, I'm having a Vodka Mule. A Moscow Mule is a refreshing, vodka-based cocktail made with lime juice and spicy ginger beer, traditionally served in a copper mug which keeps it extra cold. To make one, combine vodka, fresh lime juice, and ice in a mug, then top with chilled ginger beer and garnish with a lime wedge or wheel. It's a simple, no-shaker-needed drink that's popular for its balance of spicy, sweet, and tart flavors. I like the copper mug! It's chilled, nicely garnished and well balanced. For my last item, I've been dying to try the Special- a bork of Legume Soup. Lentil soup is a hearty, nutritious soup made with lentils as the main ingredient, often featuring a base of sautéed onions, carrots, and garlic, simmered in broth with spices like cumin and turmeric, and finished with fresh herbs and lemon juice. It's a staple in many cultures, known for being filling, economical, and rich in protein and fiber, with variations using different lentils (red, green, brown) and additions like kale, potatoes, or pasta. I like the cute, little crock pot. These are good crackers. It's nice and hot. It came out fast too! For my last item, I'm having the Southwest Chicken Eggrolls. I've never tired these here!Southwest egg rolls are crispy, deep-fried appetizers typically filled with shredded chicken, black beans, corn, red bell peppers, spinach, and Monterey Jack cheese. Let's see what comes out! There are fantastic! They're hot and delicious! What a great meal here!

Hello, I'm writing because I had an uncomfortable experience at Maggie McFly's today that I feel is important to share, especially because this restaurant has been such a big part of my son's life. We've celebrated multiple birthday gatherings here, as well as his middle school graduation. It's genuinely his place. It is not my personal favorite, but we come because he insists Maggie McFly's has the best grilled cheese. Every visit, without fail, we order two grilled cheeses for him. Today, he ate the first one and it was perfectly fine. When he started on the second, he immediately said it tasted fishy. He kept trying to eat it because he didn't want to make a fuss, so about half of it was gone by the time we let our server know. She was very friendly and immediately said she would bring it to the manager. What happened next is what prompted me to reach out. The manager came over holding the half-eaten grilled cheese at an angle, almost like she was presenting it as evidence. The first thing she said was, "I'm confused, half of this is already eaten." My son explained again that it tasted fishy, and instead of empathy or even a simple "I'm sorry that happened," she repeated, "I'm still confused," as if she didn't believe him. There was no apology, no attempt to make the situation right, just an attitude that left both of us feeling uncomfortable. I even said, very clearly, that he was still hungry and I was happy to pay for another sandwich. I wasn't asking for anything free. I simply wanted my son to get something he could eat. Later, after the replacement sandwich came, she walked up behind us, saw that I had the Maggie McFly's website open on my phone, and said, "Did that come out better for you guys?" The tone suggested nothing had just happened, as if she hadn't been dismissive minutes earlier. The disconnect felt jarring. We got an $8 credit toward the bill at the end. The entire interaction felt dismissive and shaming, especially with the way she held the sandwich and questioned him. And the impact was immediate. My son walked out saying he never wants to come back, and that's really the most unfortunate part. This restaurant has been his favorite for years, the place he chooses for milestones and celebrations, and the one time he spoke up about something being wrong, he was made to feel small for it.

The Manhattan is a classic, spirit-forward cocktail made with whiskey (traditionally rye), sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters, stirred with ice and strained into a chilled glass, typically garnished with a maraschino cherry or a lemon twist. It's known for being strong, sophisticated, and balanced, with a mix of spicy, sweet, and bitter notes. This is real good. It is nicely garnished and perfectly balanced. I think the bartender is the owner. For out first appetizer, we are getting the Fornarelli's Meatballs. These are these of their "famous" meatballs made with their signature marinara sauce with fresh basil and mozzarella. These are good! Wow! We are next getting the Onion Rings which are their signature house-made onion rings fried golden brown with chipotle aioli. Yep. These are good! I like the sauce! For our third appetizer, we are getting the Sicilian Calamari which is fresh calamari and hot cherry peppers fried with their signature marinara sauce. These are tasty! I love the sauce! Sprinkle that lemon! For my next drink, I'm having the Pearly Old Fashioned made with Maker's Mark, filthy cherries, Cara Cara orange, raw sugar and Angostura bitters. For my entree, I'm having the Chicken Piccata made with chicken breast sautéed with artichokes and capers in a white wine sauce and chefs choice of starch and veggies. This is delicious! I love the sauce! For dessert, I'm having the Nonna's Tiramisu. This is their authentic tiramisu recipe just like Nonna used to make! We are also getting the Covonut Gelato Truffle made with coconut gelato, mango sorbet center enrobed by chocolate and coconut flakes. This is the biggest chunk of tiramisu I've ever had! What a great meal here!

I had a pretty disappointing experience at The Pearl. The atmosphere came across as a very typical…read moredive bar style setting, which can be fine depending on what you're looking for, but the service didn't quite match even basic expectations for hospitality. We came in as a group of six after a long day and simply asked to be seated in an empty section so we could sit comfortably together with my daughters. We were told that area was reserved only for large parties, even though it was completely empty at the time. We even offered to push together two 4-tops to make it work, but were still denied. It just felt like there was no flexibility or effort to accommodate guests, which was disappointing given the situation. Overall, not the kind of experience that makes you want to return.

I have lived in Manchester for a very long time, yet this is my first time visiting The Firestone…read more I don't know what took me so long to try this place. It's a painting, an arts and craft, a bakery, and a coffee shop. Great place for friends to get together and spend quality time, with great refreshment. They make their own bread, Cheddar scallion scones, chocolate chip cookies, sandwiches, and many other items. My favorites are the different coffees and teas. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, both with the food service and the arts. What a gem to have on Main Street.

Surprisingly good food in a pottery painting place…read more Been meaning to review this place for a while. Each time I'd go in, see no one around, then left. This last attempt, there was a bunch of staff around so I got the full experience. The staff were very friendly and informative. They explained the pottery painting side of things to anyone painting a piece. They had a wealth of knowledge in that regard, explaining how to get the best results for each medium. I wasn't here for the pottery, I was here for the food. So they sat at a 4 top and let me go up to the cafe to order. The menu is basic, egg sandwiches, avocado toast, French toast, coffees and lattes. Some fresh baked pastries available but mostly simple dishes. I opted for their French toast latte and an egg sandwiches with bacon. Also got a cinnamon roll that was baked that morning. Food came out after a few minutes. Not speedy but not slow. Took some pics and dug in. There's a fundamental rule that I follow when reviewing. "The flavors on the description need to match the flavors of the dish." There's sandwich did this exemplary. The garlic aoli had a strong but slightly acidic bite to it, which helped the arugula's bitterness. The egg was fluffy, the tomato grilled and salted, and the bacon perfectly crispy. The soft home made bread was almost too soft, compressing down to nothing after each bite. If anything, the bread could've been grilled to give it a bit more structure. But besides that gripe, it's one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The latte, that's what took the star off. The coffee is giv beans, so a good quality product. The problem was it was extremely, overbearingly bitter. With a French toast latte, you'd expect the sweet to counteract the bitter. But nope, the sweet came from the cold foam and the concentrated coffee at the base led to straight sips of cringingly bitter coffee. After mixing the cold foam into the coffee, it became more bearable. But the damage was done by that point, and my pallet was shot. Had to dump most of the coffee. Overall, it's a neat place to go to. It's rare to have activities along with good food, and the staff there make the experience great. Not too much a fan of the specialty coffee, but the food is well worth the price. A solid food choice for Main Street.
