Last night we went to dine at Pasha. It was genuinely a very pleasant experience all throughout. Pasha is a Turkish restaurant. The interior is elegantly styled and comfortable. They had a beautiful Turkish Moroccan Mosaic lamp hanging right at the front. I was surprised they had cocktails and alcoholic beverages available. This is not typical in Middle Eastern restaurants. The prices were very reasonable I had to do a double take that they weren't mocktails. Their menu features plenty of traditional meaty options, some fresh salads and appetizers. I first started with their mojito. This was fresh and minty. A delightful cocktail. Their complimentary bread, was pillowy and fresh. Be careful, it is easy to overdo it with this delicious bread. For an appetizer we got a serving of their Babaganoush. This was an excellent pairing to that bread. This was incredibly tasty, you could taste the the eggplant, the olive oil and the lemon juice, together they created a super dreamy creamy combo. I got their version of a Gyro Quesadilla. This arrived with four very generous portions. It was filled with tender lamb and melted cheese. We got a Greek salad to share. This salad was very generous in its size, it was very fresh and tasty. We concluded with their chocolate cake. There were plenty of other traditional dessert options. This cake was very chocolatey and fresh. The top layer was very dark chocolate to me. Welcome to Pasha! This place is now a year old! I haven't been here since last January! It's the same server too! It is located at 397 Broad St. in Manchester, CT. I have not been to very many Turkish restaurants. I believe the last one was in Springfield. They play Turkish music and the employees are all Turkish (I think). The place is really big. There must be [at least] 40 tables in here. Do not be deceived by the small store front. It is very deep. It's incredibly clean. I could even smell the cleaning chemicals at first. They start me off with a complementary carafe of water. It's nice. I don't believe it is tap water. It must be filtered. They also serve complementary bread with either oil or butter. That's a LOT of bread. A meal in itself! For my first drink, I am having the J.W. Black Label Old Fashioned. This is made with Johnny Black Walker, Elderflower liqueur and Angostura bitters. I've never seen an Old Fashioned made this way. This is classy! They use a circular ice cube to minimize the dilution tine. It is perfectly balanced, nicely garnished (two lemon peels) and has a very unique taste (thanks to the elderflower liqueur). This is good! The menus are very nice too and include pictures. The drink menu does not have prices. The decor is nice with a few ethnic paintings (and a few not filled yet). I like the [artificial] trees in the dining area. They hang cool lights on the walls. Nice, colorful, low hanging chandeliers too. For my soup, I'm having the mercimek (lentil). Mercimek çorbası (lentil soup) is the most popular and widely consumed soup in Turkey. Ingredients are typically red lentils, onion, carrot, potato or tomato, vegetable or light meat stock, olive oil or butter, and spices such as cumin and paprika. This came out quick! This is piping hot! The soup is delicious! Good portion. I like the addition of the crushed red pepper for a little kick. Be sure to sprinkle that lemon on it. I love the elongated spoon. They also bring out complementary bread and butter. No butter for me. The bread is good! For my salad, I am getting the Tabbouleh (this is Arabic not Turkish) made with parsley, tomatoes, bulgur, scallions, lemon juice and olive oil. Look at this monster salad! It is huge! This came out real quick! This comes with a lemon to sprinkle upon them. They have great presentation and tastes fantastic! Be sure to sprinkle the lemon. It's like a chopped salad. The Tabbouleh had a LOT of parsley. For my next drink, I'm having the Classic Martini made with gin, dry vermouth and olives (garnish). This is made with Greenall gin. I've never had this before. It's not bad! The taste is a bit off but is still fine. There are a lot of small, floating ice particles, but I don't care. It does , keep it cool, and melts quick. It has a nice olive garnish skewer too. Very good overall! For my appetizer, we are having the Mized Meze. Meze is a selection of small dishes served as appetizers in Arabic and West Asian cuisines. You know me! I loved samplers! This includes humus, babagannush, eggplant salad, haydari, havuc tarator & antep ezme. Hummus is a Middle Eastern dip, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. Baba ghanoush, also known as baba ganouj or muttabal, is a creamy, smoky eggplant dip that originated in the Levant region of the Middle East. The dish is made by blending roasted or grilled eggplant with tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and seasonings. Haydari is a type of yogurt dish similar to a thick cacık, made from certain herbs and spices, combined with garlic and yogurt. Antep Ezme is made with tomatoes, hot peppers, green peppers, onions, garlic, walnuts and olive oil. Look at this! You have to love the carrot slices dividing the individual items. There is paprika scattered on top. The server lays down the spoons as he describes each one. This goes great with bread! Wow! Is this good! I love the variety of textures and flavors! For my entree, I'm having the Chicken Kofte (flat chicken meatballs). Spicy please! Chicken meatballs aren't easy to find. This is the best! That jalapeño is hot! The salad has a nice light dressing too. I love the grilled tomato! This flavor is unbelievable! It was also nice to have a few minutes to chat with the owner! For my dessert drink, I'm having the Turkish coffee. Turkish coffee is a rich, unfiltered coffee made from finely ground beans simmered in a special pot (cezve) with water and sugar, resulting in a strong brew with grounds that settle at the bottom. It is extremely fine, like powder, much finer than espresso. Black, for me. I like the metal cup, this way it's not too hot in the hands. This is thick and yummy! For my dessert, I'm having the Pistachio Cake. This is a first for me. The plate is nicely chilled. This is real good! This place is incredible! There is no shortage of leftovers. I have at least two more servings worth. What a fantastic meal! read more

The lentil soup was delicately seasoned and served in a big bowl with great bread. My friend and I shared a shish lamb platter It comes with bulgar, white rice and a small salad. We were looking for something new and came here. Beautiful setting, bright and clean. We started with the falafel and cigars (sigara borek). Falafel was crispy outside, soft inside. Cigars were tasty with a nice dipping sauce. Hubs had the house special, Sac Kavurma-- he loved this! Portion was excellent with lots of flavor. Rice was delicious. The first dish I ordered was unavailable, so went with the kofte-- flat meatballs. Lots of accompaniments, loved the rice and bulgur and salad with it, well rounded meal. I came here for my third visit on a Friday night. This place gets better and better!! Fresh warm bread was brought out before our meal. It was crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the outside. Perfect! I ordered the falafel plate. It was heavenly- the falafel (probably the best I've had), hummus, rice, salad. Even though I was full, I couldn't resist the kunefe dessert. I went for a drive to Ellington and Manchester today. This place had good reviews and a great menu so I decided to check it out. It's an unassuming spot in a strip mall from the outside but the inside, it's large and nicely decorated. I started with the falafel appetizer. Crispy exterior, flavorful interior, and came with pickled vegetables and tahini. There was also complimentary bread and butter. For my entree, I went with kofte. I'm used to having it on a skewer. They were juicy with great flavor. I liked the other items as well- especially the bulgar. I ordered the kunefe dessert to go. It comes with walnuts but I have an allergy so asked for them to be left off. This was incredible!! I've never tried this dessert but it reminded me of a sweet dessert calzone I had before. There were some fruit flies that annoyed me during my meal and I had to wait a bit for the server to come back and give me a box and ask if I wanted dessert. Another server welcomed her guests by asking if they'd been before and explaining the specials. She also described the meals when they arrived to the table for that party. Surprisingly good Turkish fare, very friendly staff, and a very nice space inside This place opened up in a not so nice part of town. We didn't have high hopes for this one, so we took a gamble and made the trek. The outside is not the most pleasing place to be. But inside is very clean and chic. Lots of seating, some of the modern trappings that other places use, but done less frequently and only as accent pieces to the grandiose display of the main dining area. The staff were very helpful in deciphering the menu. There's a good balance of Turkish foods and more modern American fare to select from. If foreign foods are off putting, they got plenty of local favorites to fall back on. We decide to get drinks and their mixed meze and mixed grill. Food came out quickly and at a good pace. First was bread, which was fresh and the provided oil was warmed. Then came the drinks. My Turkish coffee was strong and bitter, but that's characteristic of the drink. Beans were probably not the freshest, but it was still nice. The meze came out next. Stand outs being the hummus, spiced tomato spread, and the sour cream. Personal favorite being the spiced tomato, cause that had a quick tingle of heat to the pallet followed by the acidic bite if the tomato which then finished with a dull heat burn. Not a big fan of their baba ganouch, but that's because textures are a big deal. The carrot mayo spread was nice too, a sweet and creamy combo unexpected for the dish. The mixed grill was next, and that was good too. Some of the beef kebabs were a bit tough, but the meats were all seasoned well and plentiful for the price. The rice and cous cous were seasoned as well, and a great accompaniment to the meats. Combined with the meze, there was a plethora of choices to dip and customize to your hearts content. We got a slice of cheesecake to take home. The only downside was the chocolate sauce was not great. The actual cheesecake was pretty cheesy and light, just needed a better chocolate. Overall it's a very nice place. The food is good, the staff is nice, and despite the location it's a good Turkish place to try. Wow... what a find!!! New place in Manchester and do not be fooled by the outside location. The interior is beautiful, clean, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are on point for the quality and portion sizes. I was so impressed with the wait staff, taking the time to explain the cuisine and menu so you really understood what you were getting. Which is really important, as I don't think many people have had Turkish cuisine. The food itself was perfectly executed as Turkish, meaning it is Mediterranean flavors with a slight turn that makes it Turkish. Delicious!! Both the Mixed Grill Kebabs and The Mixed Meze appetizer with bread were great ways to try and taste the cuisine. The rice and bulgar was seasoned well and the kebabs were all moist and flavorful. The Meze was a treat and I really enjoyed the carrot one. Overall we will definitely be back and this will be added to our list for Mediterranean night. read more

3.5 stars. Pasha is located in a plaza. Their next door neighbor is a hookah lounge! Inside decor is beautiful! I love the Turkish chandelier. I went for lunch so it was quiet and calm. I'm sure at night it's even more beautiful with the chandelier lighting. Oscar, our server was so nice and friendly. He helped us decide on what to eat as it was our first time experiencing Turkish food. We tried to try different things on this trip but looks like we'll just have to come back. It's BYOB with a liquor store right next door. It's super clean and spacious inside The carrot dip is yogurt based and sweet from the roasted carrots. It went perfectly with their fresh, warm, baked bread. The sesame seeds on the bread added a nice toasty and nutty flavor and crunch. The sigara borek filled with cheese had a crunchy phyllo outer layer with a creamy cheese filling. The cheese filling was over seasoned for my tasting, however, paired with the carrot dip was good. The mixed grill had plenty of options for our mission of Taste of Turkey this afternoon. The kebobs were a bit dry but my favorite was the doner. The rice and bulgar textures were perfect but under seasoned for me. The meats were also underwhelming but with a sprinkle of salt was good. They ran out of baklava so I ordered tulumba which are semolina cookies soaked in syrup. The syrup is similar to the syrup they use in baklava. You've gotta eat the entire cookie in one bite so the syrup bursts in your mouth and sip your Turkish tea! It went so well together!!! The milk custard and pistachio pudding was good but they weren't very sweet. The tea and coffee definitely pairs well with the desserts. I would return and recommend Pasha. read more

Went to pasha on Sunday first time ever eating Turkish food and so glad I did ! Everyone was lovely , and service was quick , we didn't have to wait too long for our food which is always a plus ! They have lots of tables and can accommodate large groups ( there happened to be a birthday dinner while I was there ) . Thankfully I brought my friend that had Turkish food before so she knew exactly what to order! We were served fresh hose bread , served with oil . I love bread and it was delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside . Next We got the mixed grill kebab entree which served a large portion enough for two people! We got a variety of lamb/chicken/ doner and served with white and yellow rice and salad . I would say the food was good 4/5 on the meat .. it was on the drier side for me personally but apparently that is how Turkish food is cooked . My favourite part was the knafeh dessert which is like a sweet deep fried cheese smothered in a sweet syrup ! It was absolutely delicious ! And thank goodness my friend pushed me to try it because I was very skeptical ! Moral of story always try new things , you can be pleasantly surprised! The food here is fantastic! Hands down, Pasha has the best falafel I've had all year. We went here for dinner around 6pm. The inside of the restaurant is very ornate and beautiful, with intricate chandeliers, and green accents. We were sat immediately and treated exceptionally well. Everyone we interacted with was professional and helpful. We started the evening off with complimentary bread and the meze appetizer, which was delicious and plenty of food for two people. We also ordered the falafel dinner, which was hot, flavorful, and crispy. For dessert we had the kazandibi, which was delightfully sweet and creamy. I'm looking forward to the next time we go here, so I can try even more of their desserts -- I'm sure they pair extremely well with hot tea! read more

Wow you have to ignore the exterior and come inside. Elegant, serene. Beautiful. Food was unbelievably fresh and flavorful. My son ordered the warm hummus app and it came with a special puffed bread. Flavor was excellent and they brought a different bread out first which was truthfully one of the best I've ever had from a restaurant. Fresh out of the oven, warm and soft inside and crusty outside. Pasha is thrumming with new-restaurant energy: positive press that made its way to my mother's ears, affable and apologetic dinner service whose kinks were clearly still being worked out, no liquor license, full bookings on a Saturday night. What is this lamp that the moths of eastern CT have gathered around? Don't be put off when you walk past the liquor store or the hookah bar to get here: Pasha's black ceiling tiles, luxuriant fake greenery and Ottoman mosaic chandeliers go a long way to facelifting the place above its strip-mall environs. It felt like an endearing bid to match the excitement of the would-be clientele. The menu, with its laminated photos and rows of authentic dishes, gives me courage to believe in Pasha's promise. Not too many dishes: just enough cold apps to fill a meze plate, and no endless hit real of every Turkish dish known to man in the mains. They were out of mucer (zucchini pancakes)? Good. That meze plate was the star of last night's show, worth another visit for sure. Spicy antep ezme (tomatoes and hot peppers), a perfectly sour and crunchy havuc taratur (carrot slaw), haydari (Turkish labneh with garlic) that my mom and I were subtly fighting to swab more of by the third bite. You'd think that the babagannush and the humus, the least exotic of the quintet, would be afterthoughts, but no. They were the best I've ever had. Zohara might need to put weird shit like peas and salami into their humus to make it interesting every day, but Pasha's is subtle, umami, the garlic and spices oozing over the silky chickpea flavor. Wow. It was all served with a generously piled basket of Turkish pide bread, fluffier and doughier than Lebanese pita, but perfect for sopping everything up. I switched my main from the mucver to the falafel, which were also very good, a rival for any I've tasted or made. We ended the night with baklava, which was good, not great: overwhelmingly sweet, and missing some internal crispy crunch. So what is Pasha about? A trip to the lavatory helped me crack the code: an older matriarchal type stared blankly at me from her seat at a back table as she supervised the waitstaff; the toilet sported a bidet. Oh, this is like, TURKISH Turkish. It's a family-run Pasha deserves the hype: authentic cuisine, good service, classy vibes. read more

We went to Pasha to celebrate my family's birthdays. We started off with bread with olive oil for the table. We also go appetizers consisting of the sample platter with hummus, baba ghanoush, carrot dip, yogurt, and two eggplant dips- all delicious. We also had some fresh made falafel that was crispy and served with tahini. For main entrees I got the lamb Adana which was juicy and well spiced. Served with fluffy rice and bulgur wheat. I cleared my plate and was stuffed! Pasha was very accommodating and offered dessert for our birthdays which was amazing. The baklava was decadent and sweet. The cake and rice pudding were also phenomenal. Don't skip the Turkish coffee either, it pairs so well with the sweet desserts! UPDATE--Pasha now serves wine and beer! A very decent wine list; I decided to try the Turkish white wine, very crisp and nice. A change from the same-old same-old. I returned with a friend to sample the Meze appetizer sampler, a compendium of 6 dips served with their yummy fluffy bread, so good! The dips are a carrot dip which sounds weird but is actually delish, haydari which is kind of like yogurt with cheese, hummus, baba ganoush, eggplant salad, and the standout antep ezme which is tomatoes, red and green peppers, hot peppers, garlic and pepper paste, wow! I'm not even all that crazy about eggplant but the two eggplant-based dips were very good. I could have made a meal of this dish alone but there was more to sample, like the tabbouleh, super fresh and tangy, just like their Shepherd's salad from my previous visit. My friend and I split the chicken sampler which was chicken kebabs (the standout!) chicken kofta which is kind of like ground sausage, marinated chicken chops (boneless thighs, super tasty), and the chicken adana which is a strip of marinated chicken with herbs and spices. This would have been good except for one thing: it tasted strongly of lamb, likely because it was grilled on the same grill as their lamb dishes. Sadly, I really really hate the taste of lamb (which is why I ordered the chicken) and this ruined the dish for me. Not sure what the answer is here but I feel like chicken should taste like chicken and not something else. So...super good food for the most part. The only other heads up I would offer--and I've noticed this both times I've been there--is that if you ask for cartons to take leftovers home, they are super flimsy, almost like pressed paper, and the contents seep right through if you don't transfer the contents to some other container right away when you get home (I found this out the hard way after leaving my containers on my kitchen counter to cool for a few hours--puddles). Hopefully their takeout food features more durable containers. Also the bag they gave us for said leftovers was a v-shaped bottom instead of the flat bottomed bags I've seen them use for takeout, so it was difficult to carry the bags to your car and have the clamshell boxes sit flat. Kind of a mess, hopefully they will figure that out in time. We Yelpers loves us our leftovers!! read more

Fabulous fresh food! The hot hummus was delicious. There special our night was stuffed eggplant with beef , it was our favorite. Beautiful big fresh Greek salad. The lamb shiskabob was very good as well served with bulgar wheat and a nice pilaf. If you are gluten free they are accommodating since I am now. Highly recommend to make reservations. The deserts: homade turkish flan was yum and the tres Lecce was so good. A great find and newcomer to Manchester eating scene! read more

This was my first experience dining takeout from Pasha's. I must say the food was delightful with wonderfully delicate intertwining flavors that tickled the palate. I was also pleased that they included several pieces of freshly baked bread, which were a perfect accompaniment to the meal. Exceptional! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, and the inside of the restaurant was really beautiful and tastefully designed. It had the upscale feel of a place where you could bring a date or your parents but was also relaxed enough that you could come by for a more casual bite and not feel out of place. We went with another couple, so we were able to try quite a few different dishes. The falafel may have been the best we've ever had! We also had the Mixed Meze to start and gobbled it down with our Turkish bread. For entrees, the table had Iskender, Chicken Shish, Mixed Chicken, and a Potatoes and Cheese Pide. Everything was fresh and delicious. Fortunately, we didn't turn down dessert - The Tres Leches was completely otherworldly and baklava perfect, with enough to share. OMG!! Came here with family who had already been here, and they advised it was the perfect place for a family with varying tastes. There was traditional Mediterranean food like falafel and grape leaves, but also pastas, and burgers, and quesadillas. I personally had some of the hummus with the delicious bread..and then some more hummus with olives. And then I had the cheese ravioli..with some bread. And everything was just so good! Family includes vegetarians..people who are anti-olive, and a heavy meat eater. They was happiness on all fronts! The service was top notch and we even learned some about Turkish history (mostly related to food) . I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

What a hidden GEM! Right here in Manchester Healthy, fresh-made Turkish cuisine. Loved it! Like traveling abroad without leaving CT.

Don't let the location fool you. The inside is fresh, clean, and inviting. The food was equally as fresh and clean. We had the mixed meze and it was excellent. The Greek salad was large enough for the table and the meat from the doner gyro was extremely tasty. Top that off with a Turkish coffee, homemade Turkish "flan" and a cheesecake and this place has the "I'll be back" vibes. The waitstaff was also very attentive and quick to respond. read more
