Halfway though tearing this delicious meal to shreds on my desk so I could make it to a meeting scheduled at noon.

Just going to repeat what others have already said: great food, fairly priced, support local businesses, the owner is a lovely and hardworking woman, her peeps are all great as well, the food is delish. And they know how to hustle, do not freak out of there is a line when you get there because it will move fast. And the food is freakin awesome, did I already say that? Photo shows how it looks mid-destruction when I am cranking through it to make a noon meeting. Love these folks!

Another hidden gem in Hartford. Not very busy but has a ton to offer, especially the menu. Was very surprised walking in and seeing how much they had available. I ordered the chicken salad and kabob combo which came out to about 30 dollars total. Very generous portion sizes, I ordered ahead and it was ready upon arrival. Great Greek flavors you want in a Mediterranean restaurant. I was extremely satisfied and will check them out again soon.

Lamb plate.... couldn't help myself already dig in.

I really love this place freshly made food and tasty also. Please try and hunt out small Mom & Pops like this place they are really struggling right now. The lady that works there told my husband she's lucky to see 16 customers a day since Covid. The food is too good here to have this place disappear....slot of places in Hartford are struggling since slot if people are working from home ....so just take a drive into Hartford and pick a meal up To go you won't be disappointed

Gyros and falafel come down to the seasonings, and folks, MM's has it where it counts. This was one of the best gyros - and a *chicken* one, at that - I'd ever had, bursting with incredibly flavorful meat. I could eat a giant bowl of just that ... and I may! The falafel was similarly impressive; I've had quite a lot of falafel that was well-built, and had an attractive color, but disappointed on flavor. This was so tasty that, as with the chicken, I could easily eat a heaping pile of it. Two for two, MM's. Their menu looks gigantic, and I have confidence that this isn't the kind of place that performs well with their signature product and then phones it in everywhere else. Behind the glass panes on the counter were a ridiculous number of bins filled with a ridiculous number of foods. I will be returning to try all of them. ALL OF THEM.

I used to be a regular in this place. But haven't gone for more than a year. They modified the store, added more items to the menu and put a TV now. Most of the folks take a gyro platter here. I took lamb gyro. And added hot sauce from bottle. As usual it was very nice. May be that is their best food. It comes with one rice and veggies. I took the rice with carrot. That is my favorite rice here. They give a lot of fresh veggies on the side. You can also take one bread which is rolled in aluminum foil. All in all lot of tasty healthy food. I also took a beef skewer. Beef has flavor, but should have been more tender. Baklava is not as good as the Tangiers one.

Delicious, healthy,filling, inexpensive and fast!

This a clean restaurant serving fresh, healthy, delicious fare that is fast and reasonable in price. This is a regular spot for me and recommended for anyone working downtown.

This is the picture of the styrofoam box I was placed in the microwave and then serve to me.

It's not fancy, but the food is fresh and tasty, the prices are fair, and the service is quick and friendly.

A gem in downtown Hartford. I wish they open for longer hours, it's a bit hard for me to go to because they close so early.

It was a very hot day today so my daughter and I decided we could use a fresh smoothie. When I say the OMG smoothie hit the spot it hit the spot. It was chilled with the perfect taste of mango and pineapple sweetness with a little sour and that agave kicked it up to the next level. The ladies behind the counter were welcoming and kind. The steak sandwich I got was ok but I think it's cause of the ingredients I added. The sourdough bread I got it on was maybe too thin then I added oil and vinegar which was kind of too much for that poor thin bread. The flavor was there, the steak was good, the beets and blue cheese delicious. They even added jalapeño which wasn't on the menu for me and for that I am appreciative. I will definitely be back to try more delicious combos. Thank you Sweetwater!

"She's like sweet water runnin' Baby, won't you come and…read moreGive a dyin' man a drink?" (Straight Lines) Sweetwater Salad Bar made a bad experience "good" today when they pivoted and made a great customer service decision. They have a deep menu with all sorts of customizable Smoothies, three kinds of toasts, and Wraps. We went for lunch today and decided on a "to go" order of their Avocado Toast. We paid our $5.84 and waited for the order to be assembled. After a few minutes, a manager approached us to say they couldn't make the avocado toast because they had run out of bread. Now... since you can't really make an Avocado Toast, Peanut Butter Banana Toast, or Hummus Toast without toast, and you can't really make toast without bread, we understood why they couldn't give us the order we had already paid for. But they made things right by offering us something else, so we opted for a chicken quesadilla which we received for no additional charge. The quesadilla was good with a nice mix of chicken and cheese. IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Obviously, inventory management comes to mind, and if they run out of bread, that information should be conveyed to the entire staff so everyone is on the same page about what is and is not available, what can and cannot be made, and what should and should not be paid for.

The Mahi Mahi tacos started with a strip of the meat rather than little chucks, so the fish could stand out as the foundation and not be lost in the excellent toppings. The pumpkin-sweet potato bisque made with coconut milk was a treat for someone forced off of dairy by an allergy. The service was attentive and the restaurant attractive. The place looked spacious and with a lot of light, it looked clean and they seemed to have a nice selection of wines (for those that like it) , they were displayed for people to see, which I thought looked very nice. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and I found it odd that there was only 1 restroom for the size of the restaurant. Our waiter was nice, he took our order and we were excited. The food took a VERY long time, we were starving, and we had kids with us so that wasn't good. Some of our orders were wrong and so unfortunately we had to wait even longer for the right meal. We didn't order alcohol but we did older a couple of mocktails. I was SUPER excited for them because that's something I always appreciate at a restaurant. I'm sad to say that they were AWFUL!! straight up syrup, not bubbly (some were supposed to have soda in them) not sweet, simply not enjoyable at all, I ended up switching it for a simple club soda, I figured it was a safe bet. When my food came out, it was ok, I had the avocado toast, and it was forgettable, my sister had the chicken and waffles and now THAT was the meal to get, it was large in portion and that chicken was beyond tasty!! My other sister has the lomito sandwich with the chips and it was good, something missing but she enjoyed it. The rest of the food were burgers and they were ok, the kids had burgers and Mac and cheese and they were not tasty according to the children's disinterest in barely touching their food (and they love cheeseburgers). I'm always willing to bypass certain things as long as customer service delivers BUT unfortunately they fell short. We were celebrating an engagement and so we were all very happy and in a great mood, when suddenly workers around us were cleaning up the neighboring tables, and even sweeping very close to us. We thought the place was possibly closing? (Even though it was only 2:15pm). I asked if they were closing and they said that they close the restaurant from 3-4 so their employees can go eat .... I'm not against giving them a break BUT, it really felt like they were kicking us out, we felt pressured to eat fast and wrap it up, not a good feeling, when you are in the zone of happiness. It was our first time there so, I would have appreciated if they would have informed us that the restaurant takes a little break in between and then we would have decided if we wanted to stay or go elsewhere. They did bring a little dessert and 2 mocktails for the newly engaged which was nice, I'll give them that. Overall, I don't think the food and experience was worth me coming back or recommending this place, I'm sure there's other much better places.

I got the pasta à la vodka with chicken, and my girlfriend got the pesto gnocchi chicken dish. Everything came fast, warm, and fresh- cooked to perfection. We also got the cheese garlic bread as a starter, which was delicious and the perfect size as to not spoil your dinner. Finally, we split an order of the chocolate lava cake which was one of the tastiest desserts I'd ever had. Now, onto the even more impressive details. First things first, calling in, and then changing the time for our reservation was very easy, and the man who picked up the phone seemed very excited to have us coming in to the restaurant. Upon arrival, it was clear the host (Jimmy) was the same person on the phone, as he remembered my name and was immediately incredibly hospitable and friendly. Jimmy asked me and my girlfriend how long we'd been together, and we told him "2 years today!" This at first seemed like typical small talk on the way to the table (which I should mention was arguably the best seat in the house, a table right by the front window in a nice quiet area of the restaurant), but I was quite impressed when the first thing our server, Vincent, said to us a few minutes later was "Happy anniversary." Vincent was very helpful and made sure to circle by our table frequently enough to make sure we had everything we needed, but not to the point where it was unnecessary- perfect!! As you can see in the attached image, our lava cake came with a nice happy anniversary message, and I'd like to remind you that this was all just from us mentioning it to Jimmy, once on our way in. We were treated to some goodies to take home separate from what we ordered, as well as a nice half off discount on the parking lot up the street. And it was to my great surprise and graciousness that when I peeked at the bill, our dessert was missing- based on the service we received, I would be surprised if this was a mistake. In summary, our trip to Salute was nothing short of a 5 star review. Excellent food, clean bathrooms, calm and friendly atmosphere, and I do not understate this when I say that the service was IMPECCABLE. Thank you very much to Jimmy, Vincent, and Salute as a whole for a wonderful evening- we will be back.

My food came with two side dishes- a small container of sweet, delicious rice pudding and a second container of what seemed like a mildly spicy tapioca. I had one drumstick and some rice for dinner and they were both excellent. The chicken was liberally seasoned, and the chicken itself was moist, juicy, and full of flavor. The hostess was friendly, the waiter a bit snobbish, but perhaps that's the "exclusive" vibe they are trying to project. We went on to peruse the menu, which is a bit abbreviated; I assumed it's because they are focused on their "specialty." We took in the views, which, hailing from New York City, were not as vast or fascinating as those we were used to. Granted, we knew where we were and really had no expectations. We just wanted to enjoy dinner. The meal's presentation was beautiful. The Parker House Rolls were delicious. The Hamachi Crudo appetizer was perfection. I did not enjoy the Skate Wing and did not eat it; it had a tough rubbery texture; probably overcooked. I mentioned to my waiter that I didn't enjoy it, and he offered no alternative, so I ate more rolls. My husband enjoyed the Dry Aged Rohan Duck. We topped it off with a chocolaty dessert and French press coffee. The friendliest of the staff was a young man who collected our plates after our entrees. He smiled and interacted in a very down-to-earth manner. Overall, the appetizer, rolls, and dessert were delicious. The service was stoic and not warm or welcoming. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be visiting again.
