First time at CHOPT. loved it. All ingredients were fresh and so many options. My husband got a pre determined bowl with avocado and shrimp and I got a create your own. Tried Chopt Salad in Glastonbury for the first time today and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I decided to create my own bowl and made it clear out loud that it was my first visit. However, no one explained that several toppings are extra or that there's a limit on how many items you can choose from certain sections before being charged. Since I wasn't informed, I kept adding ingredients as I went along. The person making my bowl never mentioned the additional costs, and another employee at the counter kept staring at my bowl, instead of offering guidance. A simple explanation like "you can choose up to three from this section, anything extra costs more" would have made a big difference--especially for a first-time customer. When I got to the register, the total came to $40, which was honestly shocking for a salad. The food may be good, but the lack of communication and customer service really took away from the experience. First impressions matter, and this one definitely missed the mark. I typically order carry out on the website. They are so fast and always get the order right. It's very easy to pick up from the rack right as you enter. Stopped in for lunch. I created my own salad with spinach, chicken, carrots, celery, cheese, and dressing. You get a huge bowl they put everything together and then mix and chop it then put in your bowl Very good but hard to find the protein that sinks to the bottom of large bowl. It's a great place but you have to love a salad. My daughter got the Cobb salad. She loved it. So if your in the Glastonbury area stop in for a very filling and satisfying salad. A reasonable quality but expensive salad place I do enjoy eating greens on the occasion, and this place was new to me. So I gave them a go when I was looking for a quickie lunch. place was clean, but pretty much standard for a salad place. leafy greens in the back, mix-ins in the front, and you walk down the line cafeteria style until you eventually pay. The floors behind the counter were not as clean, but I'd imagine this was due to a lunch rush and haven't actually addressed it yet Staff here are...apathetic. Not to the point of being rude or inconsiderate. They looked like they were on the tail-end of a lot of work and were in straight up work mode. Once again, not a detractor, just something I noticed. I opt for one of their pre-selected options, the chipotle chicken bowl. Their pricing for make your own is a little high, you get 4 mix-ins and that doesn't include proteins, then it's an upcharge for every mix-in after that. A single salad can end up costing a ton of money, so that's something to keep and eye out for. The salad itself, it was decent. I felt that for the money it was dressed and assembled well. the lettuce was fresh, and it had enough cheese and other little items to keep each bite interesting. The chipotle ranch was not hot, not really ranch either. The chicken was tender and chilled, seasoned okay. Overall, for the money it's on par with many other salad places. There's nothing here that makes this a better buy or a better bite over any other. That being typed, there is a whole foods right next to this place that offers salads for roughly the same price. On my first visit, I ordered the Verde Pork Pazole Bowl from the Glastonbury Chopt Salad. It came with cauliflower rice, hominy, shredded pork, tortilla strips, radish, cabbage and other stuff. It was good, and the Chimichurri Ranch dressing was flat out delicious. But I really want to acknowledge Chopt for actually serving its salads and bowls dressed if you want. Many places default to serving their salads with dressing on the side. That has merit if there's going to be significant lag time between the making and eating of the salad. The lettuce might get soggy under those circumstances. But I usually eat takeout and/or delivery salads right away. So I'd prefer to have a traditionally dressed salad, like a Caesar Salad, properly dressed when it arrives. An un-dressed Caesar Salad is just an ordinary salad with Caesar dressing. I don't want that. For such salads, I ask restaurants to dress salads when I get takeout and/or delivery salad. And you know what happens 80% percent of the time? The restaurant serves the dressing on the side. For our recent online takeout order, Chopt dressed the salads of people who wanted that, and had a side dressing container for the person who wanted that. I come to this Chopt location regularly. I went there today (6/2/24) and I was so disappointed with what I received. I ordered a Classic Cobb salad with Mexican Caesar dressing on their app to pick up in store. Mind you it's a 20+ minute drive for me to get to this Chopt in Glastonbury. I get there and pick up my order and head home. When I get home to eat my salad, I notice that it looks like my salad bowl is a little more than half full. Then as I eat the salad I realize that there isn't any avocado, tomato, egg, and barely (if any) chicken or bacon. As you could imagine, I'm upset because this is a $15 salad that I ordered correctly on an app, so there's no excuse to get my order wrong, spent 40+ minutes driving to and from Chopt to get, and I didn't get anything close to what I ordered. I essentially got a bowl of lettuce, cheese, and Mexican Caesar dressing...I feel like I've been ripped off. Whoever made and packaged this salad severely messed up. While I'm at it, my partner and I each ordered a different salad. Our salads were packaged together but there was only one fork in the bag...weird. I really hope this place gets it together. read more

Some of the best salads I've ever had! This was my first visit to a Chopt location and I am seriously impressed. We had the Heart of Palm and Santa Fe salads, and what impressed me the most was the effort to include layers of ingredients throughout the salad so you aren't left with just lettuce after finishing the top. The bowl was huge, and I was so happy when I kept finding my favorite things, like tomatoes, chicken, or avocado, as I made my way towards the bottom. The wrap was delicious as well! Next time I'm going to try the lemon tahini dressing I saw on their board. Their variety is awesome, and Chopt has a beautiful space to sit and relax too. read more

WOW. Say hello to my new favorite salad joint! What an awesome addition to Glastonbury and central CT's first Chopt location! They weren't lying when they named this place Chopt... all the ingredients are chopped up making every bite perfect. I got the Spicy Sonoma Caesar Salad and it was incredible. Like easily the best salad I've ever had. I will order this weekly! It had chipotle chicken, avocado, parm crisps, pickled cherry peppers all dressed with creamy caeser dressing. We ordered online and the salad was ready in the pickup area right when we arrived. Such an easy process. This is definitely the best of the best. A+ read more

I have seen Chopt in New York many times, but never tried. Good to see finally they opened in Glastonbury. I went for a Mediterranean warm bowl and chicken tinga warm bowl with cauliflour rice. Both were really good. Mediterannean bowl had a slight sour taste to it. read more

Well as you can see from my latest picture I am not happy. Last time they forgot ingredients. One time my supposed to be chopped chicken was almost a whole breast. And this time I feel completely ripped off. I Guess they ran out of the bowls for the warm bowls so they put my warm bowl and a salad bowl and only filled the bottom of the bowl. The grains are half the portion of what they normally are and there's hardly any ingredients on here and I got charged $13.99. They were asked about the portion being smaller and we were simply told it's the same portion just a different bowl. Well I have had 10 or so warm bowls from here and by no means is this the same portion. Half the warm grains and barely any cabbage and cilantro mix. For that price it by no means is worth it. So I guess choose wisely and if they have the wrong bowl skip it all together. I could have gotten a Whole Chicken Cutlet Grinder and a can of soda and would have leftovers to boot. Ouch, the employee could not be colder. I walked in on Jan. 9, around 6:30pm. It seemed she didn't wanna be there. She made me feel totally unwelcome. It's cold outside, but it's EVEN COLDER INSIDE. And for around $13~15/bowl, the portions were far less than expected. What a shame. So happy Chopt opened here. I really wanna like this place. But with that attitude, I don't think a lot of customers would feel like visiting again. Hope the management would see this. If the service improves, I'll update my review. read more

I've always been a fan of Chopt and would frequent it often when living in NYC, so I was excited to see a location had opened up in Glastonbury. However, my excitement turned into disappointment as my first experience here was chaotic. The line was long (understandable because it was lunchtime), but they seemed to have a good number of people working behind the counter, and still, I felt rushed when placing my order. The person making my salad missed a few ingredients, so I tried to match what was on the menu with what he was putting in the salad, but I couldn't do it fast enough. Also, as a customer, I shouldn't have to do this. When I got to my car and opened my salad, I realized 2-3 ingredients were missing. For salads ranging from $11-$15 pre-tax (this isn't including drinks, sides, and snacks which they also offer), I expect a bit more attention in the salad making process. I didn't think it would be worth it for me to go back inside, wait in line, and see if they would be able to add the missing ingredients. I took the loss and moved on. Also, maybe it's this location, or perhaps it's Chopt in general now, but I found my salad to be much smaller than what I've had in the past from Chopt. read more

I tried Chopt out and didn't think it was anything special. Plus my salad cost $18 and change. $18 for a mediocre salad is going to be a hard pass. After ordering, I was sitting in my car eating lunch. The cashier who served me left, and when he came back, he had two slices of pizza from Whole Foods. It makes me think that 1) He doesn't get comp'd lunch from the owner of Chopt, 2) he thinks their salads are just as mediocre as I do, or 3) he really likes Whole Foods pizza. 2 stars. I got the hatch chile caesar salad, which was pretty good. The lettuce was really shredded. It comes with a lot of food, the bowl is deep. I thought chopt was nice, but not better than sweetgreen. I think it was around $14, which is a little expensive. read more

A solid 3.5 Stars The salads are tasty and fresh. I enjoyed the make your own warm bowl with felafel with a spicy dressing. The workers were competent and professional. So why did this establishment only rate a 3.5? 1. Price. Although the salad was sufficient for lunch, two warm bowls with beverages cost almost $40, which I felt was a bit high. I used to eat in a similar establishment in NYC and they had a similar menu but included a cookie. The inclusion of a cookie would have sweetened the experience. 2. Due to the hard surfaces of the place and the piped in music, it was loud. We were there after the lunch rush (2:30). The chicken in the Cran-apple harvest bowl was pulled chicken (looked like tuna fish consistency) instead of grilled pieces of chicken on shown website picture during ordering. Major let down. I called restaurant (mostly because I was in a Karen type of mood after spending $18 for a grain bowl) and they didn't seem to care either way about my feedback but did offer to refund my $18 - so I guess no harm, no foul. Went to chopt for the first time this past tuesday. Everything available for the salads looked very fresh. I ordered 2 cobb salads, as my person started to make my salads a young lady started to sweep the floor. I thought this was very unsanitary. With all the open food i dont believe it should have been done. I spoke to a young man about it and his answer was " we have to keep the floor clean". I told him of my concern for the dust going into the open food area, and was told we sweep several times during the day. He didn't seem to care about my thoughts. I had been meaning to check out Chopt. It seems to be a suburban version of Sweet Greens in that you have a salad or bowl made in front of you. Wraps are also available. I found patient and very helpful service at the counter to help make my salad. Wish they had not run out of cauliflower rice. Would have to wait 15min for them to make more since "rice must be boiled...". I chose a pre-defined bowl and substituted one vegetable out. I found it larger portion and spicier than Sweet Greens - which is good for my palate. Good number of tables, unlike any Sweet Greens I've been at. I will be back. read more
