I see a lot of complaints over their kiosk machines, let me save you the frustration and just order online...super easy. I had no issues placing my order and picking it up. The D'anjou Pear wrap was surprisingly delicious, I wasn't too sure how I was going to feel about the combination (grilled chicken, pear, candied cranberries, walnuts, avocado, blue cheese, blue cheese dressing and mixed greens). Walked into this food shop randomly when I was at a work training nearby. They are located on the Main Street and you do need to pay for parking. The inside is very clean and has some seating options. I was instantly approached by the worker on staff. I asked for the Strawberry Feta Salad which was on special. You do get to add some things to the salad for extra. I decided on grilled chicken for an added $3. They have a lot of different options. I would say I walked out of there spending $20 on lunch which was a little shocking. BUT the quality and taste was 100% worth it !! I enjoyed my salad with a side of bread which I wish came with butter. I added a bubbly drink on the side. The taste was everything. I really ate my entire salad under 5 minutes. My son had school off for Indigenous People Day so after a few hours in the office with me, we decided to call it quits. We decided to visit The Salad Bar and to meet up with my parents for lunch. All four of us ordered a half size salad. The portion is more than enough for a single person. That being said, my husband will probably have the full size when we go back. I tried the Greek with an added chicken. My son had a make your own with a ton of veggies and some tuna salad. Both of my parents ordered the Mexican one with chicken and the other with black beans. The setup is similar to cafeteria (Moe's, Subway) style. There are a few low top and high top tables available. The business seems to do a lot of carry out and order ahead. Ordering is as simple as choosing your size of salad or other food item (wrap, grilled cheese, soup, kids meals) and moving down the line. Pick a base for your greens and start adding toppings, sauces and dressing. Make sure to try the complementary ciabatta roll with your salad. They are amazing along with the salad. read more

My wife and I were in the mood for a lighter dinner and decided to try the Salad Bar for takeout. For the most part, you could make the Salad Bar's salads at home if you had the time and the ingredients. In this way, I think the primary value of the Salad Bar is that they have more ingredients to cover different tastes in your household, they've done the prep work for you and there may be a greater degree of customization compared to some places. I ordered the large Chef Salad with a side of honey mustard and a side of Ranch (hedging my bets). My wife picked up our order and said the process was efficient. The Chef Salad had typical ingredients like lettuce, cut deli meat and bacon, sliced egg, grape tomatoes, and shredded cheddar. There was nothing wrong with the salad, except that the Ranch dressing wasn't my favorite. The honey mustard was better. The individual salad components were well cut, looked decent and tasted how I would expect. But there was nothing special about the salad either. For instance, if the Salad Bar had terrific house made dressings recommended for each salad rather than the Marzetti brand salad dressings they offer, that might take the salad next level. When I score a place like the Salad Bar, I think about similar things I could have ordered around the same price point. I believe the large Chef Salad at the Salad Bar cost $12. From a quick search of area websites, it appears I could have ordered the following salads in the area for a price between $11 and $14: a Toscana or Spring Salad from Max Fish; a Wedge, Chopped or Burrata Caprese salad from Carbone's Prime; a lettuce wedge or chopped salad from Ruth's Chris; a taco salad with choice of meat in a tortilla shell from Puerto Vallarta; a Mediterranean or Greek salad from Mykonos; and a Buffalo Chicken Wedge, Caprese Avocado, Cobb, Goat cheese, Meatball or Sicilian Orange salad from Joey Garlic's. I can't compare the size of these items to what I received from the Salad Bowl, but at least some of these salads seem to be meal-sized. Given these other options, I give the Salad Bar 3 Stars. However, I recognize that the Salad Bar may have more value for groups of people who can't agree where to go and for people who prize customization. read more

My wife and I decided to get a jump start on the New Year resolutions and get something healthy for dinner. We were looking at our options in the area and stumbled upon The Salad Bar. We took a quick peek at their menu and decided to give them a shot. Most of the restaurants in our area sell salads around the same price range, if not slightly more than here. What drew us in was the flavor combinations of their signature salads and the uniqueness of the seasonal specials. You can build your own salad here, which in theory you can also do at home, however the variety of options makes it worth doing it here. You can also have their signature salads swaddled up in a wrap or create your own. We ended up getting the buffalo chicken wrap and the seasonal Dan Dan noodle bowl. The Buffalo chicken wrap came with the standard accoutrements: lettuce, chicken breast tossed in hot sauce, crumbled blue cheese, and a few dashes of ranch. I was impressed with the freshness of the lettuce mix and the juiciness of the chicken. The Dan Dan noodle bowl consisted of refreshing soba noodles, bright crisp scallions, baby bok choy, and Dan Dan seasoned pork (a good balance of spicy and sweet). You can swap out the pork for Dan Dan flavored tofu for a vegetarian option. The prices for the two items were $8.00 and $10.00 respectively and the amount of food was filling. If you're looking for a quick healthy meal and the ability to create a salad without having to buy 20 things at the store, then this is the place for you! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I had gone sporadically since they opened, but I've been getting takeout from here regularly since late in the pandemic and I have never been disappointed. I usually build my own salad, but I've also gotten gluten free wraps a couple of times. There is always a variety of fresh ingredients, as well as proteins (like tofu!) and all kinds of sauces for proteins and dressings. I love that I can look up anything on their menu to make sure it's gluten free because there's nothing worse than having to guess. I also really love the five bean chili and a couple of the other seasonal soups. Unlike a lot of other places where you can build your own (insert food item here), they seem to always get my order right, which is amazing. I go to Giants football games regularly with my Dad and there aren't many options for someone like me who doesn't eat meat or gluten. So the day before every game this season, I've stopped in to grab a salad to eat at the game. They travel well, are reasonably priced and fill me up, so it's a huge win even when my team stinks. What a great concept, I wish there was one closer to where I live! Great variety of toppings and bases for salads, good shielding/sneeze guard up above choices. My husband was super happy with the vegan options including the side of ciabatta with his salad. I would return in a heartbeat. I got iceberg, black beans, broccoli, feta, olives, fried onions, tomatoes, and chicken. I keep holding out hope that the Salad Bar goes back to how their salads used to be made. Not sure what happened but their roasted beet salad is difficult to enjoy to go. They give you a sad small packet of honey to use which is almost impossible not to get everywhere. They used to put the honey on for you. Pistachios also used to be put on for you but are now given in a small packet consisting of maybe 10 pistachios total. My $11 salad consists mostly of lettuce and beets. I'm searching for the pistachios in the salad and have honey on my hands and steering wheel but barely on my salad. The rolls used to be so good. They changed that too and they are hard and small. Really great app with choices to order ahead and pick up. All ingredients were fresh and it was so delicious and healthy. I went in to pick up my order and it was waiting for me on the front counter area with my name. Any topping you could want on your salad, they have, with a variety of lettuce to choose from. I had this fresh made watermelon water when I was there and it was sooooo refreshing and good, I've never had watermelon water or juice before this and now I'm obsessed and look for it everywhere, and it's hard to find. I'm not sure if they have this all the time but they should. The only downfall for me is that it doesn't open until 11am. Pleasantly Surprised..... I have been putting off going here. And needed a quick somewhat healthy lunch so I decided to check it out. It's located in a small strip mall and parking can be limited. When I walked in the place was clean and busy but the line moved at a decent pace. For my first time I chose one of their Seasonal Signature Salads the Korean BBQ and added tofu for protein. This place works like subway so the employee went through the line adding all the ingredients to my salad. When it came to the dressing I had them put it on the salad and they told me to tell them when to stop and then tossed the dressing throughout it. The salad was very filling and liked how you have the option of plain or garlic cheesy bread. I've been there once before, and had a smoothie that time. Both experiences were positive. The interior is fairly simple, but modern and clean. I changed a few things on the menu with substitutions and there were no issues at all and all the food came exactly as I asked no questions or hesitation at all. Used to go to this location all the time when they opened and loved it but came tonight and was shocked at how much things have changed. For starters we stood in line and no one acknowledged us for several minutes (we were the only ones there initially and then a line formed behind us). When someone finally came over, before even greeting us, they asked if we were going to order anything that had to be cooked. We had a couple questions about items and they proceeded to basically tell us to read the menu. When we went to order a wrap and ask what kinds they have, we were told "it's right there" and they pointed at a sign. When we asked if they could mix up some of the ingredients before they close the wrap we were told they don't do that anymore and if we really wanted it they could "use their hands I guess". Yay! Joy has been brought to me again. So yes, this place has a ton of options for toppings, soup, teas, and some warm breadsticks to go along with your meal. The staff has seemed really friendly and patient, especially when we are slow and indecisive on super busy days. I love salads for lunch - it's easy, portable, and (relatively healthy). However, I hardly ever buy a pre-packaged salad from the store because even though all of the above are true it never usually fills me up AND (for the most part) has 1 or 2 items in there that I usually don't like. SO when I heard of The Salad Bar - a DIY salad store (that also sells soups and wraps) where I could get a salad made "my way" I was intrigued. I have been there a couple of times at or just after the lunchtime rush and they are always busy. When I first started going they had 2 salad bowl options (small and large) but on my most recent time they have streamlined the process offering only one size. For about $8 you can get a salad custom made by you OR if you are not feeling very adventurous - there are pre-determined salads to choose from. All of the ingredients are fresh and there are a multitude of them to choose from. I was a little miffed when I found out that adding a "protein" was extra but got over that when I was able to add "all the vegetables" that would fit in the container. Customers can also choose to add egg and advocado (extra) but I never have enough room to even consider it. AND as like Panera or Au Bon Pain - you get a breadstick to go along with your meal. I hope this place sticks around - it's in a great location (right off I91) and gives the area a healthy 'grab n go' place to grab a bite! read more

I was so excited to try this place after hearing such great things but I will not be returning. I ordered online and paid so that when I pick it up it would be an in and out deal..... That wasn't the case! Order tells you a exact time order will be ready for pick up. I went after the order time and to my surprise someone forgot to get my order right so I had to wait about 15 mins for them to find the order, checked if I paid and get it ready. Really annoying! Food is fresh which is great but I've tasted kale salads wayyyy more delish than this( tried w/ chicken). It was a mediocre salad nothing special really.
