While I was on the call with The Iron Horse staffer who checked if they could accommodate us, five more people said they wanted in. So, my party expanded to 20. The staffer said "No problem. See you at 8pm." Ninety minutes later, I called to update our numbers again, and we were up to 28. Ugh. The staff said, again, "No problem. See you at 8pm." A few more people heard of the gathering, so our total group was 32 people. With just a few hours notice. On a Saturday night. On Valentine's Day. That was the first bit of magic, and the waitstaff continued with friendly, fast, and accurate service of all the kids and parents. The final act was the food, which was outstanding. The portions were huge and delicious. (I had the wings, and "hot" was definitely hotter than most other places. So, order accordingly!) So, on behalf of our team, we wanted to extend an incredible "Thank you" to everyone at The Iron Horse and (in hockey terms) stick taps for an incredibly well done evening!

The bartender there was so helpful with my food order as I asked what he recommended and he gave me numerous choices to go with. He suggested the wings and pizza which I took his advice. I ordered the 4 boneless wings for $5.00 along with the medium size pizza for $17. I went with the boom boom sauce on the boneless wings and i really loved the flavor and fresheners of the wings. The iron horse also makes their own blue cheese dressing. I also went with the thin all American style pizza crust 1/2 bbq chicken and 1/2 buffalo chicken as I couldn't decide and wanted to try both. I feel the Buffalo chicken would be more flavorful with their homemade blue cheese dressing drizzled on it too. I also ordered their $1 slice pepperoni pizza to go for my kids. I really enjoyed everything i ordered. I especially love their boneless wings they make and if you haven't tried yet the boom boom sauce you must. It's a combination of chipotle sauce and ranch dressing. Definitely will be back to try more food during happy hour. The place has a good size bar area and offers great specials for drinks. They just opened the patio that they have as well. There are other locations available to visit. Unionville , Bristol.

It is huge with all the fixings and both had to finish eating it with a fork. No complaints though. I had the 3 Shrooms burger which was delectable. An order of Baja Fish tacos was delicious and rounding things out was a classic Bacon Cheeseburger, also well complemented. In all, it was a great place to meet up. The prices were reasonable and the service was very good also. Plan B is one of our go-to places because we know it will be a great meal.

After several years, we decided everyone deserves a second chance. Apparently, so does disappointment. Today's visit started with a lengthy wait for drinks, which gave us plenty of time to admire the restaurant's impressive indoor climate control system set to "walk-in freezer." As we slowly lost feeling in our extremities, we waited for our food. And waited. And waited. The table next to us eventually gave up and asked for their food to go because it was taking so long. We thought, "Well, at least they'll get food." Plot twist: our food never came. On the bright side, if you're looking for a place to practice patience, intermittent fasting, and cold exposure therapy all at once, Plan B has you covered.

There's always a little pressure when a dinner is part reunion, part catch-up, part "please let the restaurant be good enough to match the occasion," and Republic absolutely came through. The whole evening was fantastic. Shane took great care of us and struck that perfect balance of being attentive, personable, and making everything feel easy. He helped the night flow in a way that let us relax, laugh, catch up, and enjoy ourselves without ever feeling rushed. The dinners across the table were a hit, but my Moroccan lamb special was next-level. It was one of those meals where you take a bite and immediately stop mid-conversation because your full attention has been redirected to the plate. The flavors were rich, layered, and so unexpectedly good that I'm still thinking about it. Everyone loved their meal, the atmosphere made it easy to settle in and enjoy the evening, and the prices felt very reasonable, especially for how good the whole experience was. All in, Republic Gastro Pub gave us exactly what you hope for in a night like that: great food, great service, lots of laughs, and a dinner worthy of the reunion

We went back to Abigail's on a beautiful Sunday at noon to celebrate Mother's Day!…read more Fortunately, the weather cooperated so we had an opportunity to sit outside in gorgeous weather and enjoy each other's company and wonderful food and great service. I had the scallops with risotto which were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Hats off to anyone who can cook a risotto well and they do it perfectly. I started with clam chowder that while could've been a little hotter, was thick and delicious. Other people in the party had eggplant Parmesan, which reportedly was terrific, chicken Parmesan that was cooked beautifully with lots of grilled chicken a lovely marinara that was topped with lots of cheese and spiced. The ancient grain risotto was again fantastic, and anyone who can cook a risotto well deserves kudos. The dessert I had the strawberry shortcake that wasn't too sweet and had a beautiful flavor of fresh strawberries throughout with lots of whipped cream. The Keylime pie was tart and delicious. The Brooklyn layered chocolate cake was tremendous layers of cake and frosting. It was just a perfect rendition of a chocolate cake. Last but not least was the coconut cake which rivals my favorite coconut cake in the world from Max A Mia. The Abigail's version was a bit lighter, but equally as delicious with coconut frosting that really hit the spot and is worth the trip back. The bill came to $317 and with a $60 tip for outstanding service and a wonderful Mother's Day meal

The place was busy the whole time we were there, so I highly recommend making a reservation. Amazing service and delicious food! We dined on the outdoor patio. The food was fresh and came out fast. Rigatoni a'la Toro was tasty. Others had something else I had no interest in to remember the name. Their menu offers a variety of choices, including options that are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. The women's restroom on the second floor was originally Abigail's bedroom. Heard it's haunted after 10pm by Abigail, the original tavern owner's wife who was murdered, haunts the place, but we didn't see any paranormal activities or ghosts. We would definitely come back and suggest you give this place a try if you are in Weatogue, CT and Simsbury, CT.

Review #900: This…read moreplace looks and feels like a ski lodge nestled on the foothills of Talcott Mountain State Park. The Hublein Tower can be seen clearly. We went on a Saturday (February) afternoon and it was pretty busy but we were able to snag a table. They were playing reggae music, the fire was going, beers/cider/wine were flowing; a fun and chill afternoon. They offer so many beers from all different breweries! I didn't really know what to expect before going and this place was on my "to check out" list. I was pleasantly surprised. I was happy they were kid friendly because we brought our two little ones. I saw some people eating pretzels and we got some delicious buttered popcorn to snack on. The kitchen offers wings, chips/salsas, lobster rolls, bratwurst/kielbasa, burgers, etc. They have food trucks onsite, but when we were there (early afternoon) I didn't see one yet. I can't wait to go back during the summer/fall because their yard looked fantastic. They had a small stage, picnic tables, and fire pits. For recreation, they have disc golf, Cornhole, etc. In the summer, they also serve ice cream. This place will definitely be one of my go to spots to chill!

I didn't try the food because the kitchen opened at like four in the afternoon. There was also a food truck outside. It looked like typical bar food but the small children loved it.
