I frequent the strip mall that Sarah's on park restaurant is located.i am disabled, I don't walk well. The third time I was there to pick up my order , they wouldn't wait on me as I sat for my order. A belligerent waitress came out to look at me and said "you shouldn't drink " and I wasn't'. the door man brought my salad order & told me: on "Passover", you're not welcome here! It was my first time here, but I'd been to the Rocky Hill Elizabeth's a dozen times. And the food was as fantastic here as it was in Rocky Hill. Part of last night's charm was our server, a young lady named Aline. Not only was it her first day on the job, but our table was the very first table she ever waited on! Aline was so sweet and charming and tried so hard to please us. She's going to be great with a little seasoning. A round of beverages ran us $6 for a Modelo beer, $7 for a house white Zin, $9 for a Malbec, and $2.95 for a coffee. The house salads were excellent as were the complimentary basket of dinner rolls and butter. We all ordered something for dinner - $19.95 for Eggplant Parm, $24.95 for Cioppino, $26.95 for a Ribeye, and $21.95 for Chicken Francaise. The Cioppino was mine and it was fantastic! A big portion of clams, mussels, scallops, calimari, and shrimp over angel hair pasta. It seemed more like three servings than one. My buddy ordered the steak and he is very particular about his steak. He asked for it to be "rare, rare, rare" and it came out exactly to his liking. All four of us asked for to go containers to bring home our extra food. Our grand total was $127 after tax and before tip. The most consistently good restaurant in Bloomfield. There has not been a time when the service wasn't friendly, the cocktails expertly prepared and served, or the food anything less than great. My wife and I try to go here at least once a month. Whenever we begin the sometimes endless discussion of where to go out, Elizabeth's is either the answer, or figures prominently. It was five of us, we went to Elizabeth's in Bloomfield to celebrate a birthday. I have never been here before, a friend suggested we go here. We quickly got seated, but weren't given any menus. Then the waitress came over with the water pitcher. She said it was strange that the host hadn't provided us with the menus. I got a mojito, a New England Clam Chowder and a Greek Salad. Others in my party got; the Ribeye, Nachos, Bruschetta, The House Paella, Clams Casino, and the sautéed calamari. We overdid it with the food for sure. My mojito was very tasty, it was the perfect blend of rum, mint leaves and lime. My clam chowder was also very tasty, it was creamy and flavorful, and the best one I've had recently. My Greek salad was massive. The roasted peppers on it were my favorite part, everything in the salad was very fresh and tasty! I had to take this salad home, it was far too much for me. The bruschetta was also very tasty. It was like a miniature pizza, with a ton of fresh tomatoes and fresh melted mozzarella on top. We all enjoyed our meals, and we shared from each other. We each brought a box home, due to the very large servings. We concluded the evening at Elizabeth's with a slice of very delicious tiramisu for the birthday boy! Ohmygoodness.. was this delicious! It was so melty, fresh, chocolatey and a bit of coffee. Incredible! The only small criticism I have is with the waitress. She wasn't very friendly, and she seemed annoyed. This is my second visit to Elizabeth's since Feb. 2020. I met a friend here to catch up and chat. We arrived about 5:30pm. By 6:00pm, most tables were filled with a nice mix of people from casual to professional. It has a nice vibe for an after work meet up. There are multiple dining areas with a nice ambiance and background music. I ordered a Cucumber Lime Martini, and then another. They were very good. My server did forget about the 2nd drink request but I was busy chatting, so it was okay. We only ordered appetizers: Chicken Quesadillas and Crema Chipotle Premium Wings. Both were good. Had a terrible experience with front of house staff when trying to pick up an online order (through the slice app). The app is what the website directs you towards ordering with. But the kitchen didn't actually have our order ready when the app said it was ready. We showed up and spent 25 extra minutes waiting at the restaurant. A rude gentlemen working didn't bother to help us and continued to bash some of his guests that he was serving in front of my husband. Mediocre at it's best, but I'd come again. There's just a couple red flags that need to be seriously addressed. There were two red flags that I noticed, one effect my own experience. 1.) When I was seated, my glass and my girlfriend's glass had lip marks on it. That's just gross and unsanitary. Had them changed immediately. 2.) We watched one couple walk out because nobody was at the front. Then we watched more people wait for someone to greet them for a fairly long time. Two groups even had someone go inside the dining room to fetch someone, it was really hard to watch. Easy fixes, this is a new restaurant so I'm not pissed, just disappointed. Anyways, the food was very good and my server was excellent. For an appetizer we had the sauteed shrimp in a garlic sauce (Camarao Lisboa). It was very good, the sauce was tasty and the shrimp was only borderline overcooked so it was fine. But the price was about $12 for 6 pieces of shrimp. I mean come on I could have done this at home but what else did I expect. For my main course I had the Baked Grouper w/vegetables and roasted potatoes. This was excellent. The fish was baked perfectly. Flaky, meaty, seasoned very well, just perfect. The vegetables weren't overcooked and the potatoes had the perfect crust that just held together on the outside and in the inside it was soft and just oh my God, so good. The lady ordered a Chicken Parm, not much to say about that. Chicken Parm was Chicken Parm. So other than the couple red flags, this place is pretty good. I went very easy on them giving them 3-Stars for something that borderline made me wanna walk out but because almost everything else was great, I'll give it to them. I hope to give this place another try in the near future, there's some good potential here in the newest Elizabeth's Bar & Restaurant. read more

we stopped here because I was early for an appointment nearby...SO glad we did!!! my husband and I are picky Italians but this place surprised us! They are changing their name to Sara's so the signage may be confusing, but the food definitely is not! I do not eat anything with red sauce outside of my own kitchen, but theirs was actually quite delicious! The piccata is perfect! It's my husband favorite dish so I was worried when he ordered it, but this dish is worth the 40 minute drive to come back for. And as silly as it seems, try their Italian salad dressing -it's not your typical taste! so good! The grand finale was their crème brûlé.... it was the perfect ending to a surprisingly amazing dinner. My husband normally doesn't even like crème brûlée but he ate half of mine! Considering this was not a planned visit and we never heard of this place until today, we are already making a plan for a return visit and bringing friends! read more

Went here last night for the third time, and had the poorest experience of the three. Each time I ordered the Chicken & Eggplant Parm--huge, relatively inexpensive at under $20, and DELICIOUS the first two times--last night the chicken was fine, but I didn't like the eggplant at all--no flavor, not as perfectly cooked as before. The waiter kept being MIA. I waved him down and asked for Parmesan cheese, and he finally delivered it once I had stopped eating. He also disappeared during the payment process--we needed foil or plastic wrap for my friend's overfilled and potentially messy take-home food box, and he said he'd bring some, but we never saw him again--we flagged down a different waiter to get what we needed. On the positive side: rolls are great, ambiance is very comfortable both in the bar booths and in the dining room, and the prices are reasonable. read more

We came here for dinner after seeing the fantastic four and five star reviews on Yelp. If you base your rating on the amount of food you get, then Elizabeth's definitely gets four big fat stars. If you're looking at the star count and thinking you will be getting a five star dinner, then you will be disappointed. The food is decent, just not five star. There were no booths open in the main restaurant, so we were seated in the bar extension, which had no less than 13 televisions, bright lights, and loud music. Great for a family or a group of friends, but not really great for a relaxing dinner for two. I imagine the other part of the restaurant is more conducive to that. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. I had the mushroom ravioli, a heaping plateful of mushroom ravioli swimming in a basic brown sauce with even more mushrooms. The flavor was pretty basic. My partner had the grilled chicken with mashed potato and vegetables. Granted, that's not an adventurous choice, but even so, it was pretty plain tasting. The platter was huge though! The meals were both served with a simple salad of mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, red onion. If you are looking for a place to grab a solid meal, then this is the place. Had dinner last night with friends and the food was horrible, and the service was worse! Their Fish & Chips was disgusting, and my Bolognese was soupy and bitter! The Chicken Parmesan was like eating a tire!!! There were six of us and we thought the food was a disaster! To make matters worse, they forgot to prepare one meal! Since COVID restaurants have substantially raised prices, lowered quality and lost the art of good service! Elizabeth's was quite a lovely experience. Location: the location is well place as it is in a plaza with multiple other businesses. It's easy to find, with a large sign. Parking: there is plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza. Food: The food was pretty good- I'll provide slack due to the fact i went while Covid was lowering in its peak. There was no one there, and i believe they had just opened a couple days prior. I got the lasagna, and it was flavorful and tasted very good, the sauce meat and cheese ratio was appropriate. Service: the service was nice, the woman who served us was the only one working the floor and she was very attentive. I would love to go back once Covid is over. This was my first time here, a friend recommended it. The minute I entered, I was greeted by the host, (he was very pleasant). Once seated our server was amazing, I wish I got his name. I ordered stuffed salmon and my friend had blackened salmon. Mine had crab and shrimp stuffing that was flavorful, I only wished it had a little kick to it. For those how aren't to keen on pepper, it was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, not dry even though I asked for well done. My friends blackened salmon was good too,... but mine was better. ( she would differ) lol. She ordered a drink and she said they make the best sangria. Sorry guys I didn't try it. They were served with potatoes and mixed vegetables. I felt the vegetables were over cooked, a little too soft for me. We also had tiramisu which was ok. The issue with it was that the ladyfingers were soaked way too much and the coffee that was used wasn't that great. My biggest priority is always making sure the kids are good before us adults are. I'm going to rave about the food and how wonderful it is, and that the bartenders are fantastic but that if if you're looking to be seated from the Host station or even acknowledged with any sense of hospitality don't count on it. The seafood fresh and delicious. The drinks LOOK a great, Ive only had wine. The chicken Milanese, Chicken Parm and escargot in the wine garlic butter sauce appetizer is wonderful. The calamari with the capers was a great twist on a classic. I've had the Salmon also. Just superb , cooked to perfection with veggies n smashed potatoes. I've been there around seven times now. The music nights are great from a Brazilian crooner to jazz Sundays it's all an amazing experience. Its difficult to be excited by great food when you're dismissed by the person at the door. People often stand and wait too long at the door to be greeted. Also if someone is waiting for food an extended amount of time it would be nice to be extended an invitation to take a seat at the bar or even maybe be offered a glass of water by the Host....... NOTHING... Didn't Happen. The Host stated that he told me it would be a half an hour, again that didn't happen either. I had to inquire about my food which is when he made up that he told me it would be a half an hour. I told him had I known that in the beginning I would've declined my order and went elsewhere as I was in a bit of a hurry. There was a party going on yesterday and the host did not even walk the guest to the table, he just pointed and said walk straight. It was appalling. What's crazy is that I was so upset, I shared my experience with at least four people (all over 45, no rowdy youngsters here) and was told they experienced the same thing. The only negative thing I have to say about Elizabeth's is about the host with Ponytail and how people are not greeted properly at the front door. My people called him Rude, my word is dismissive..... for him to behave in that fashion I thought for sure he must be a relative of the owner or something to get away with his behavior. I am considering finding another Italian restaurant.... south end of Hartford never fails. I Was just really excited to have authentic amazing Italian and Portuguese food here in Bloomfield. I don't know I'm still contemplating. I'm just really disappointed and sad about it.
