Sunday brunch: Saw an ad for brunch and decided to give it a try. It was delicious! There is one guy who makes waffles, omelettes and carves ham and roast beef. Some of the items I ate we're deviled eggs, eggs Benedict , chicken Marsala, roasted potatoes, pasta, green beans, and chocolate pudding for dessert. This place has a real clean, pleasant atmosphere to it. I like clean places and you could almost eat off the tables and floors here. Wait staff very friendly. Private restrooms very clean too. It wasn't crowded here either, which is good cause I don't like to feel rushed. while I eat I like to read the Sunday paper Ugh, no egg whites! My only complaint is chef doesn't have any egg whites for the omelette station. My relative cant eat yolks, so when a place doesn't have egg whites they miss out on a nice omellette. It should be an easy fix for them. my only other nit pick would be they charged me $2 for soda, when other beverages are included with brunch brunch is $13.50 per person

Everything was sooo well flavored. The kale Caesar? Literally to die for. I never take salad home because it gets soggy...but I ate it the next day and it was STILL so good and the croutons were somehow still crunchy The chicken tenders were amazing, the fries were perfection, and even though I'm not usually an Aperol spritz girl, I finished the whole drink 10/10 would go back for girl dinner

My companions had slices of confetti cake - the frosting was meringue! Their specialty cocktails were varied with interesting, flavorful combinations- not the usual. I decided to try a Manhattan instead which was very, very smooth. Our server, Lonnie, was very gracious and attentive. At the end of our brunch she served us sparkling wine, courtesy of The Laurel with a happy birthday note for our birthday celebrant- such a lovely surprise!

It's incredible to see the restoration of a historic building. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server Shamille was attentive, made great suggestions and took care in explaining the mission and impact they are having on the community. The food: -Biscuits were TOP NOTCH. The warm flavors and flakiness were to die for. -The hummus was also amazing. Perfect seasoning and flavors. Lavender lemonade? So Good! -All of the mains were good; we had the ribs, beef shoulder, Mahi with banana leaf and mahi tacos. Flavors were good, albeit spicy on a couple. -The ají verde sauce is no joke lol definitely has a kick. For the kitchen: larger pieces of fish, a slaw or cilantro crema and cotija would elevate the tacos. The flavors were good, but the taco was a little empty. Also perhaps drops of the verde sauce on the ribs versus a drizzle to tone down the heat so nothing takes away from the flavor which was amazing by the way. Epically delicious! Desserts: -The cheesecake was nice, soft and not too sweet. -The marshmallow was like a mochi. You had to chew it well before swallowing but it was well executed and delicious. -The sweet potato cobbler would probably be better as a crisp with an herbed streusel. The ice cream was amazing! All in all it was SO WORTH it. Everyone did a fantastic job and we were so proud of the work they all are doing. We will definitely recommend to others and will return.

The place looked spacious and with a lot of light, it looked clean and they seemed to have a nice selection of wines (for those that like it) , they were displayed for people to see, which I thought looked very nice. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and I found it odd that there was only 1 restroom for the size of the restaurant. Our waiter was nice, he took our order and we were excited. The food took a VERY long time, we were starving, and we had kids with us so that wasn't good. Some of our orders were wrong and so unfortunately we had to wait even longer for the right meal. We didn't order alcohol but we did older a couple of mocktails. I was SUPER excited for them because that's something I always appreciate at a restaurant. I'm sad to say that they were AWFUL!! straight up syrup, not bubbly (some were supposed to have soda in them) not sweet, simply not enjoyable at all, I ended up switching it for a simple club soda, I figured it was a safe bet. When my food came out, it was ok, I had the avocado toast, and it was forgettable, my sister had the chicken and waffles and now THAT was the meal to get, it was large in portion and that chicken was beyond tasty!! My other sister has the lomito sandwich with the chips and it was good, something missing but she enjoyed it. The rest of the food were burgers and they were ok, the kids had burgers and Mac and cheese and they were not tasty according to the children's disinterest in barely touching their food (and they love cheeseburgers). I'm always willing to bypass certain things as long as customer service delivers BUT unfortunately they fell short. We were celebrating an engagement and so we were all very happy and in a great mood, when suddenly workers around us were cleaning up the neighboring tables, and even sweeping very close to us. We thought the place was possibly closing? (Even though it was only 2:15pm). I asked if they were closing and they said that they close the restaurant from 3-4 so their employees can go eat .... I'm not against giving them a break BUT, it really felt like they were kicking us out, we felt pressured to eat fast and wrap it up, not a good feeling, when you are in the zone of happiness. It was our first time there so, I would have appreciated if they would have informed us that the restaurant takes a little break in between and then we would have decided if we wanted to stay or go elsewhere. They did bring a little dessert and 2 mocktails for the newly engaged which was nice, I'll give them that. Overall, I don't think the food and experience was worth me coming back or recommending this place, I'm sure there's other much better places.

We were so stuffed after eating the donuts and most of the wings that we took the burritos home. The burritos do reheat perfectly so they are good the next day. The BBQ flavor was your basic BBQ and the spicy monkey was an interesting flavor. I definitely liked it. The service there was really good. We were seated right away. The food, at that time, consistently matched the atmosphere and made it a place worth returning to. Since its relocation, however, the experience has not been the same. The restaurant is clean,…read morebright, and beautifully decorated with warm tan décor that immediately makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. One thing that really stood out is that Uchu has three different rooms, each offering its own vibe. One room is a traditional restaurant setting, perfect for a more upscale dining experience. Another gives off cozy bakery vibes, and the third feels like a lounge or party scene with great music and tasteful strobe lighting. It's such a unique concept because you truly get to choose the atmosphere you want. One of the owners, Matin, seated us and was extremely kind and welcoming. He explained that the name Uchu comes from a Peruvian word/dialect meaning spice, which perfectly represents their Peruvian-inspired menu. We started with a passion fruit pisco pitcher, and it was absolutely delicious. It was lightly blended with ice--not frozen, but not exactly on the rocks either. It had the perfect balance of sweetness without being overpowering, and it masked the alcohol so well that it was dangerously smooth. For my entrée, I ordered the Churrasco a la Parrilla, which came with fries, white rice, and a salad. The steak was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor--I could literally cut it with a butter knife. For dessert, I had the leche asada, which was similar to flan and served with whipped cream and fresh fruit. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Uchu is truly perfect for any occasion--whether you're planning a date night, celebrating a birthday, or getting together with friends. What really sets this place apart is the ability to choose your vibe while still receiving the same high-quality food and service in every room. Lastly, the staff deserves special recognition. They were extremely attentive, something that feels rare in restaurants nowadays, especially in the post-COVID era. I will definitely be back, and I highly encourage everyone to check this place out. The inside is comfortable, colorful and well appointed. Service was friendly, but they seem like maybe they're thinly staffed at the moment because, even though it wasn't particularly crowded, I wanted to get my check for about 10 minutes at lunch before I had to ask for it. I ordered a Pan con Chicharron off the breakfast menu, which they serve until around noon I believe. Even though it seems like lunch type sandwich to me, in Peruvian cuisine it's considered more of a breakfast item. It came with huge chunks of gently fried pork belly, slices of sweet potato and Salsa Criolla, which is the red onion salsa popular in Peru. It came in a huge crusty roll. that was full of the other ingredients and cut in half. I've never had another sandwich quite like this. The color was great. They were so generous with the ingredients that they spilled out of the bread. The bread was super fresh. They served it with aji and thin crispy potato sticks that I think may be called papas Hilo. So you could use the aji to add flavor if you wanted. They charged me $10 for this, along with complimentary chips, three different aji and Cancha (the crispy Peruvian corn kernels). I thought this was a tremendous value. I would definitely return to try more of the menu. 4.25 Stars
