I work 2nd shift Was planning on going to plan b grab something to go had a craving for a tavern burger but they did not answer the phone for over a hour on my ride home from work pulled up too the spigot food truck the chef made me a homemade one even down too the special burger sauce and was even better seasoned and cooked to perfection a hidden gem on the Hartford West Hartford town line

Bartender is very rude. Not the attitude I was expecting walking into a bar for some peace with my gf. Tried to get a drink, got ignored and avoided then yelled at by some locals as we were walking out. Very disappointed with the service and unprofessionalism here. Never coming back, I also heard the bartender robs people

The Spigot is great. Love the self service coolers and the warm peanuts. Haven't been in a bit but it's the best dive bar in Connecticut.

Lots of good options on the menu, clean and well decorated, and our party of 6 was immediately sat at 6 on a Saturday night. Service was very slow and the food came out in waves. The waitress said they got slammed and while it had gotten busier, they seemed like they were filled a normal amount and let's be honest it was a Saturday night, it's when a restaurant should be at its busiest. We had a number of mehs about the food but these were the main ones. My mom's salmon salad came out significantly after everyone else's and included a few items she'd asked for on the side. She did say the salmon itself was excellent. My wife and I both ordered truffle fries but neither came with them (not sure if we were charged or not). I'd ordered a side of blackberry bbq sauce that sounded excellent but it never materialized and it seemed too bothersome to ask. My Bodega Chopped Cheese sandwich was absolutely terrible. I can allow for some creative freedom in cooking but it was terrible execution. A dry hamburger patty cooked in full cut into a few chunks, and thrown on a massive roll with a slice of raw cheese over it. I've been wanting to try these for years and there were no photos of this dish on here, had I seen it I would have ordered something else. Maybe we caught them on a bad night or ordered wrong and I hate leaving negative reviews, but I don't think I'll be coming back.

The people next to us got some sliders that looked tasty so I'd like to try those also. No complaints so far!

But they forgot the avocado, which was a major disappointment since it's listed as one of the main ingredients. The Parmesan fries didn't hold up. They were soggy and lacked that bold Parmesan flavor I was expecting--not nearly enough cheese, and overall just underwhelming. Delivery was on time, so props there, but the accuracy and quality missed the mark. I've been to Wood-N-Tap in person before and really liked the vibe--fun, welcoming, and upbeat. That's why this delivery experience was a bit of a letdown. Three stars for decent flavor and past good experiences, but I expected better consistency--even with takeout.

There's also pickup parking next to the restaurant for take out and delivery drivers. You can make reservations online. Inside there are a combination of tables and booths. I went during their St. Patrick's day menu, which was very good! They had house-made Irish cream that I wish they would bottle. The corned beef and cabbage was a little overly cinnamoned, but otherwise very tasty. The baked potato soup was tasty with lots of ingredients inside. The staff were very nice and friendly. If you made a reservation just be clear about the time and number of people it's for, otherwise it may cause confusion and a call during dinner asking where you are! :-)

We were a party of ten. I ordered a mojito, and was informed that there was no white rum available, so I just ordered another cocktail. When it came time to order dinner, I ordered the half chicken, only to be told that they were out of that, too, so I ordered a Cobb salad with steak. The food and drink were okay. Several appetizers were ordered; one order of nachos never arrived, we were told there was no calamari about 30 minutes after putting in our order. A couple of the meals were not eaten because they just weren't good. We had to ask for water and ask for utensils. Our waitress was nice, but overall, everything seems to be extremely disorganized, careless and overwhelmed. I would not return unless someone wanted to celebrate something and they wanted to go there.

Wow well this was a sad experience…read more Came here for my birthday lunch with family. The server was all alone trying to wait on a dozen tables or more. We ordered an appetizer of nachos and a few burgers for mains. And waited. And waited. I was checking my watch often because we had two hours on the parking meter that was rapidly winding down to zero. Nachos came after a while. Nothing to write home about... almost stale chips with a cheese/sour cream/green onion and jalapeño topping. Maybe a dozen black beans in the mix. We waited again for our mains. After a total of an hour, they came. I ordered a black & blue burger and asked for tomato to be added. It arrived without the tomato, so I reminded the waitress about that. And eventually the tomato came from the kitchen. Single slice. But by this point the burger was getting cold. I opened the bun to put it on and then saw the kitchen forgot the onion strings. So I flagged her down again to ask and she apologized and went off... to clear other tables. After ten minutes I asked her if the onion rings were coming and she was confused, thinking I didn't want them because I asked for no onions on my salad. No, I just said no raw onion on the salad. She asked it I wanted the onion strings after all. At this point, the burger had been sitting for at least ten minutes and I told her to forget it and just remove it from the bill. She looked over her shoulder and said, "here comes the manager". The manager shows up, reaches over to adjust the umbrella on our table, then leaves. Without saying a word. He walks off and we don't know what's going on. The waitress returns and says she comped my burger 50%. I asked why not 100% because I'm not eating it at all. She blinks and says she'll check. Bill comes back with it removed from the total, and I'm missing my credit card. She runs back exclaiming how she forgot the card and probably could use some coffee today. Ummm, yeah. This was error on error. Not a good look and pretty sad customer service. At least they had the World Cup on tv.

Then we ordered a Farmer's salad with blackened chicken and the Bangers and mash. The food came out maybe 25-30 minutes later, oh and worth the wait! Because the blackened chicken was piping hot, I wish it had been slightly to the side of the spring mix lettuce so that the salad would be a bit crisper but the flavors were wonderful. It came with a balsamic vinaigrette. My husband's Bangers and Mash included garlicky mashed potatoes, a rich thick mushroom gravy, and flavorful sausages, all on a bed of vegetables. Mmm super satisfying. Cozy welcoming ambience. Reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food I think.

You see, when you play their baseball game you can choose your opposing team (I couldn't resist competing against Team Zombie), choose your stadium, and choose a few other variables. Last night, a professional organization I belong to hosted a game night charity fundraiser here, and we had a blast. We played simulated baseball, golf, and hockey, threw axes and darts, had some great food, and overall had a sensational time. Clubhouse catered our food with platters of wings, quesadillas, salads, nachos and sliders. The food was plentiful and quite good.
