Taylor's Tots
Jazz A.

WOB I feel Is very underrated .. it deserves more recognition in my opinion ( even if you don't like beer ... like myself ) I love coming here because they have THE BEST happy hour from M-F from 3-7pm and they have $8 house cocktails on the regular . And their tater tot's are amazing ( Im still thinking about them ) . Not to mention they just decided to have a Taylor Swift themed brunch ( which as a swiftie I had to try it out ) i got the bad blood Bellini the champagne problems and the cosmo and all 3 were amazing . I got The fearless French toast and the (you guessed it TAYLOrS TOTs .. which I didn't think they could make their own tater tots any better .. but i was proved wrong ) . So overall 1. good beer (check ) 2. Good food .. including brunch (check) 3. Great Price (check ) 4. Great cocktails (check) 5. Great staff ( check ) Highly recommend and will def be back soon !

German Pretzel and Boon Framboise beer

This is a good place to hang out (there are lots of TVs with various sports games on) and try a bunch of different types of beer. Their draft/ cans list is quite extensive, though they did seem to have a few kegs kicked without replacement for popular choices (such as Coors) which was surprising for a weekend night. Prices seemed relatively average. It does get a little loud in here even without music playing but I feel like this might be expected for this type of atmosphere. If you go with the expectation to eat mainly average bar and snack/app type foods, their options are good. The food menu isn't incredibly extensive though the German pretzel with the beer cheese was a must. We went with a large party later at night and our server was very attentive. Parking is paid until 10pm Monday-Saturday, but there is plenty around between meters and the garages. Would definitely like to try one of their events or trivia at some point.

Baked Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Crispy Chicken Sliders

World of Beers was a cute place. There was a soft vibe in the atmosphere. A saturday night was surprisingly not busy, so service was quick. The waitress was very attentive to our questions too! Pictured is the baked spinach & artichoke dip with chips, and chicken sliders. We also got a beer flight. The dip was very good, and had a good amount of spinach in the mix! The chicken sliders were crispy and well made. I would love to go back to try more on the menu!

Mongolian sweet bbq wings with cilantro

This place is so cool and I don't even like beer. I decided to go on a random night because I was in the area and wanted to get some wings and somehow ended up front row at a concert! Not only that, but there was no cover charge either! Theres also tv's all around the place so on a normal night im sure they always have any game you want on. For the wings, i got the Mongolian sweet wings which came with a huge amount of ranch, and when i asked the waitress for blue cheese she brought it in an equally big container. Definitely enough for like 20 wings, let alone the 6 i had. Which I don't think was intentional since it said 5 on the menu, but it was a more than welcome surprise. I personally am not a big fan of cilantro so I was a little surprised to see it on there without a mention on the "style" list but between the great sauce, tasty wings, and free live music I can get over it haha.

My husband and I stopped by on a Monday night for their build your own burger deal! It was a perfect medium rare and they had so many toppings to choose from. Fantastic drinks, awesome local beer options, and even the birria quesadilla and wings were delicious. We always enjoy visiting this location and the staff are so welcoming!

Came here on a Saturday night, not as busy as you would expect. Sat at the bar and friendly bartender. Drinks were good, reasonably priced. But the food wasn't that good... had the Cali bowl with steak and it was super salty, mediocre food. BF had the burger, it was average.. and shared truffle fries and that was salty too. What's up with the salt in this place? Will I be back if I was in the area, mostly likely not.

Flat beer in a clean glass.

Beer was flat. I sent it back, the slackjawed waiter was like "oh, ok", as if he were used to it or didn't care. They have an outstanding beer list, too bad they don't know how to serve it.

Basically, a solid 3 place. So my friend and I stopped in for the Muggles & Mimosas event today and honestly were pretty let down. They'd run out of whipped cream and we were there at 11....so I didn't even try the butterbeer. The goblet of fire was good, but kind of a let down. We waited over an hour for the food which did nooooooot look good, literally just thrown on the plates. Taste wise, just ok. If you have people waiting over an hour for food, at least make it worth it. I'm glad we split the food because I didn't want to eat much of each dish.

Food is super good! Good place to get drinks and hang out and yap. I would recommend coming for appetizers.

I expected alittle better tasting food than what what I got. The boneless wings Mongolian sweet bbq was tasty and sweet but by the time I got it it wasn't much sauce on it. I asked for a side of the Korean spicy one which was very watery when I thought it would be thicker. Needless to say I had to keep dipping my wings in it for favor. I could have used more but when I asked for more sauce and blue cheese they would have charged me so I didn't get it. Not good service. I did sample a blackberry flavored draft but wasn't good so I stayed with the angry orchard cider beer. It definitely a happening place and a little loud. I sat at the bar area alone and felt comfortable if your alone like I was

Stopped by for their Disney Brunch. We were the only adults who had gone hard on costumes. The server was great but they were understaffed. The food was solid. I had the french toast, which was good if a bit bland. Their jalapeño and cheddar sausage was really good though. They have a beautiful open space pan with big sliding doors and outside seating. Combined with the central location in Blue Back Square this makes for a great place to sit. Cheers, Edward

My expectations aren't super high, but I think the "ska club," "night at the Roxbury" music playing…read more that didn't fit the vibe might have something to do w/ it. There were 6 other people at the bar, a couple in the corner & a table if 6 behind me. The manager came out to talk to the couple in the corner about their experience, which is not a great sign, but we'll see. He saw that I was writing a review & never went back in the kitchen after that, unless it was for a brief moment. He involved himself in pouring drinks & barely left my side. He made small talk & I learned that he had been open for 4 years. It was difficult for me to eat, take pictures of the food or write the review with his constant engaging presence. He was pleasant & made sure to pick up the bartenders slack. For instance, a coaster under the drinks, offering me a glass, or putting down a placemats under the food or supplying silverware, none of which she did. I ordered a Modelo, but when she grabbed it out of the cooler, i saw that it was Especial not Negra, so i asked do you have the dark? She said no & w/ out hesitation opened it, not giving me a chance to ask for something different. Not a big deal, but she seemed indifferent & with no affect. None of this is a deal breaker, just an observation. The food, that was a deal breaker. I ordered the (smoked BBQ sandwich) & opted for the brisket. It came with a side & I chose onion rings. They were pre-salted, almost too much, but they were good. No complaints there. The sandwich however was impossible to eat. The meat was very tough & stringy. It was impossible to tear, bite or cut. The roll was soft, untoasted & soggy, causing it to fall apart making a mess. I gave up, turning to fork & knife to cut what resembled a tangled bunch of hair in both in taste & texture. There was something on the meat, but it was more of a marinade than BBQ as we know it. The same goes for the cheese. I did not see any caramelized onions, but there were two jalapeños. The owner asked how the meal was & I said eh. He said only ok? so I elaborated. He said he would relay the information to the kitchen & I thanked him. After that he never came back into the dining area until after I had left. I do feel bad writing this review because he was so overly involved in my experience & he was a nice gentleman that I would like to succeed, but I do not think I would want to return there after my experience with that sandwich, especially for the price. The meal alone was bad enough. Maybe a change in staff would help, unless they were related. I felt bad writing this review because the owner made it a point to be overly engaging with me once he saw that i was writing a review, but the better way to handle things is to make sure that you guest's experience is top notch. I felt like he tried to keep me engaged, so i wouldnt be rough on him, but it is supposed to be about the customers experience, not my empathy for the friendly owner. I wish him the best of luck.

Shout out to Smoke's owner Rich who dreamed up the Dumpling/Prosecco Experience for a dozen regulars and social media followers. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Rich and a small split of Maschio Prosecco. After all the participants arrived, Rich's wife Claire and Claire's mom (the star of the show) walked us through the process of making homemade dumplings. Claire and her mom made the simple dough using just two ingredients -water and all-purpose flour. We watched our instructors mix the dough, stretch and roll into a thin rope, snap it off into small chunks, squish it into a disk, use a mini-rolling pin to flatten it out into a small circle, fill it from a pre-made bowl of Ground Beef and Cabbage, then fold and pinch it into shape. Then our dozen attendees tried their hand at replicating all of those steps. Our mother and daughter team's dumplings looked as though they came off a 3D printer- just perfect and uniform. Mine looked like rejected factory seconds. The mother didn't speak English, but I had a blast watching and copying her little tricks on folding in the corners and squeezing the wrappers together. Once the dumplings were folded and squeezed together, they went into a pot of water, and we all enjoyed them before dinner. Dinner was a real pleasure. I loved the vibe at Smoke. If you want to cool it hip and chic I won't argue. I loved all the paintings on the wall. There is a large painting of a ghostly looking, red-lipped female blowing out a puff of smoke. I told Rich what a cool painting it was, and he modestly said he had painted it. So not only is Rich a fun and engaging personality, and a talented painter, but the food at his restaurant is great. Our friend ordered a $15 Spicy Smoked Philly Cheesesteak with American Cheese, Peppers, Onions on a Grinder Roll with fries. I sampled a small slice, and it was terrific, and yeah -it was spicy. My wife ordered a $11 Shrimp and Roasted Corn Bisque served with pita chips, She loved it. I ordered a $10 Smoked Beef Brisket Chili served with tortilla chips. It was a big portion, full of flavorful chunks of beef, and packed just enough heat to make it perfect to my taste. Smoke offers a Sunday Brunch from 11-3 and a Happy Hour Mon-Sat 4pm-7pm. Their pricing is excellent, the vibe is super fun, the food is delicious, and the service from Rich and his staff is excellent. What a fun evening!

Charlie Brown, who was also at the door, then asked me the appropriate questions allowed under ADA, and after I responded, allowed me to enter the establishment with my service dog. However, after maybe 30 minutes, Mr. Brown approached me and asked that I leave the premises and return without my service dog. I declined this request since my service dog was not misbehaving in any way, barking incessantly or at all, and not being disruptive to any other patrons. After about another 30 minutes, Mr. Drouin approached me with Mr. Brown and demanded that I leave because according to him my dog was too young to be a service animal and therefore must be in training, and I was being disruptive by talking to patrons who asked me about my dog. I informed Mr. Drouin he was incorrect, that my service dog is fully trained to provide the service for which she is required, and the law does not prohibit me from interacting with patrons who approach me about my dog. He and Mr. Brown still demanded that I leave. I was with a group of five other people who all witnessed all of these exchanges. We all departed the establishment at that time. I have filed an official complaint #758150-TWD with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division for this violation of 28 CFR Sec. 36.302(c). This violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act can result in civil penalties up to $75,000 for a first offense and $150,000 for a subsequent offense. Despite me informing these ignorant and insolent employees of this, they still demanded that I leave. I will also be filing a complaint with the State of Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities for this violation of CT General Statutes Sec. 46a-44 & 46a-64, which is a class C misdemeanor, which Mr. Drouin and Mr. Brown will be individually charged. I will also be contacting Mr. James Verano, the listed Principal for Pig's Eye Pub, and Mr. William (Bill) Morrissey, the listed Managing Member regarding these federal and state violations. I will also have my personal attorney contact Reid and Riege, PC, the listed agent for Pig's Eye Pub. Being denied service while accompanied by a service animal is illegal, humiliating, and emotionally draining experience that no one should have to endure. What these imbecilic employees did was not only illegal but morally reprehensible.
