Visiting my Mom and was hungry. I looked up bagels and Yelp and found Isaac's. Glad I did. Place was bustling. They had cornmeal bagels which intrigued me. Got inebriated with cream cheese and it was great. Bought a dozen to bring home. The mozzarella bagel was unique and very yummy. If you're in the area stop by you will not be disappointed. read more

In a small shopping center - this great breakfast deli hides away! If you go before sunrise - the parking lot is pitched black - but the scary darkness is worth it. They have a great selection of bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Service is quick also - even when they are busy. read more

I ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg & cheese on one of their wonderful bagels. Is very affordable and was highly recommended by the locals. Unfortunately, I could hardly taste the bacon, all I tasted was grill. Make of that what you may. read more

Quick and easy service, great interior and well spaced and great selection. I did a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel with extra egg and a small coffee. The bagel was perfectly seasoned the egg and bacon and cheese cooked well and was perfectly warm. I loved the coffee and it was brewed well. This place is an excellent place to eat and should be a must stop whether you need a quick bite to go or a you're bringing a book or a laptop and staying around for awhile Thanks! read more

Solid bagel for CT Been heading to NY and NJ a lot as of late. Decided to make a trek to a bagel shop to see how they compare to some of my other local bagel places. Place has plenty of parking, but is obscured by tree cover so it's not easy to spot when driving. Ordering was easy. Wait in line, order from the front and they call out your order at the opposite side. Got an everything bagel toasted with jalapeño smear. Came out quick and I dug in. The bagels are much softer than many others I've tried. Fresh, not a real chewy crust but a pillowy, crispy bagel. Cream cheese had plenty of heat, but very mellowed out by the dairy. The mini cinnamon rolls were a little tough. Good flavor but very bready. The bagel was much softer. Compared to a ny or nj bagel, the lack of chew and the slight tang you would expect from a bagel is sorely lacking. It's a good bagel, one of the better ones I've had in ct. it's a soft but crispy cream cheese or breakfast food delivery vessel. Its not the best bagel you can get, but it's pretty good and the best for the area read more

The cinnamon sugar bagel was delicious! I also really liked the Apple nut cake, it was perfectly sweet. My mom got a lox and stock sandwich and she said they put a little too much capers . We had to wait quite a bit, the service was a little slow. The atmosphere wasn't too bad. But, it was also packed when I went with my family on a Tuesday so it was a little hard to find a table. read more

Best bagel sandwiches in the area. It is definitely my favorite spot for a bagel and they are pretty fast with their service even if it is pretty busy. read more

Looks like a local favorite breakfast spot with a dozen old timers hanging out when I checked it out. I had a spicy cheddar everything bagel with Turkey sausage & egg white. The bagel was awesome, so fresh & deeply flavored, the egg white was great just the mere fact they offered it. The Turkey sausage was a bit greasy & tasted like pig sausage, & the hash brown was a let down. It looked like a McDonald's hash brown that's been left on the counter for 3 days, dark, chewy rather than crispy. However, I don't have to order hash brown next time. I left with some extra bagels to go, the cashier girl was super nice, she pointed out that half dozen was actually cheaper while I was trying to order 4 bagels to go, thank you! read more

I stop by here every week after volunteering at The Simon Foundation, a nearby animal rescue center. The bagels are great, tons of options and a wide variety of add-ons. The coffee isn't anything special, but that's not the seller here. I've had a bunch of different spreads, bagel flavors, and some sandwich options. They've all been good. I haven't tried their full breakfast options or the lunch choices so I can't speak to them. The restaurant has been clean (even the bathroom) every time I've gone in, and the workers are polite and friendly without being over the top. The food is always prepared quickly and they never give me a hard time even though I show up about half an hour before they close. read more

Best Bialy I have ever had and lots of other great varieties of bagels. I live in MD, My sister in law brought me a dozen bialys from Isaac's for my Birthday. (She knows how much I love them) We froze them and have been enjoying. These are so good I know of no better breakfast, I usually spread some cream cheese and spinkle with a little everything bagel season. Eggs and a favorite breakfast meat goes well too. I have had other varieties too and they are all really good so if you have a favorite bagel buy with confidence this place makes them right read more

Isaac's Bagel Cafe has been on my radar as a possible top CT bagel destination, and I recently visited Saturday around 8:30 a.m. It's clearly very popular. The ten or so tables were mostly full of people eating or waiting for their takeout orders. There was a five person line for most of our time there, but to Isaac's credit, they kept the line moving. From the time we ordered, it took about 10 minutes to get our food. That's a solid achievement under the circumstances. I tried a pastrami, fried egg and American on toasted everything bagel, and a spinach bagel with veggie cream cheese. With the exception of the pastrami, which was average pastrami you might get at the deli of a standard grocery store, everything was good. Nothing really popped relative to the other best bagel places in CT. I can see why it's popular with locals, but I would not drive out of my way to visit given other Hartford County options closer to me. Four Stars. read more

This place is Rockstar quality. The Cafe is well-lit, full of life, has all ages of customers from two to 80 enjoying their food. The tables and chairs, the wall decor and the rest of the Cafe was tastefully decorated. Reader I did not want to leave...however, that lox and bagel I had filled my belly! I will go back soon to try a lunch order on a day off. Bravo Isaac's you are way better than Brueggers down the road fo sho. read more

Best gyros around!!!! Always fulfills personalized requests... such as extra sauce on the side :-)

We got breakfast sandwiches here yesterday before golf and the whole group agreed it was arguably the best sandwich of our lives. We added an extra egg to each sango and to round out the double egg we went double sausage as well. Cugino mike made us do it.... Then these lunatics have a jalapeno cheddar everything bagel...never seen that before....which totally elevated this thing. Throw in a crispy hash brown, some hot sauce on the sango.... Perfection. This is a place you drive 30+ minutes to if you're craving the best bfast sango around. Sorry no pics... There just wasn't time read more

Totally adore this place!! Tuck in beside Isaac's Food Mart-we always forget that it's here. But while on the hunt for the best bagels and breakfast in CT, we just had to stop in. This time around we ordered a breakfast special of eggs any way (over easy for us), with bacon, home fries and then a bagel/croissant/toast-all for just $6.99. We're telling you right now, no one can beat that! The home fries were not baby sized which we appreciate so much and they come out blazing hot!! Issac's makes sure all to go orders have ketchup and utensils and napkins included-this is a majorly important detail-not every business cares or remembers. Trust-they want ya to come back again and again! And next time we hope the phone booth is open so We can get a good photo op!! read more

Easily one of the best bagels in Connecticut This bagel is an authentic New York bagel. Extremely clean establishment unlike many other bagel shops Great seating area and a great selection on bagels. I got a jalapeño everything bagel with egg and cheese. The bagel had an abundance of everything seasoning. And my favorite, tons of jalapeños. The bagel had a great snap and chew to it which is essential to an authentic NY bagel. Egg and cheese cooked to perfection. 5 out of 5 stars. read more

Contacted Isaac's to help organize a bagel bar for a company event. Sarah was such a huge help & I was extremely impressed with the final result. It was so much more than I expected. The bagels were warm when we picked up at 6:30 a.m. which was a big plus. Their offerings allowed us to have spreads from Peanut butter to chive cream cheese to veggie to even a lox cream cheese. I asked for veggies along with lox and they whipped together a very artistic and well presented tray I didn't have to do anything but whip off the lid. Not to mention, everything was reasonably priced for our budget. We love to support local family owned businesses. The professionalism, care & detail of Isaac's will always have them earn our business. read more

Casual bagel spot with a solid selection of bagels and cream cheeses. Additionally there is large menu of additional pastries, breakfast, and lunch items as well. I got a multigrain bagel with veggie cream cheese and an iced coffee. Neither was that great. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. 5 read more

This is the perfect restaurant. First, it's a halal breakfast sandwich place, which is extremely rare and a huge plus in terms of meat quality. No chance of industrial meat contamination happening here like with other places. Second, the service is efficient and professional. After countless visits I have never had a problem with my order. Third, the variety is unparalleled. So many different kinds of bagels and desserts made with precision and quality, that you can try something new on every visit. Finally, the seating area is clean, comfortable, and accessible for groups of virtually any size. Overall, this place is a gem of the community and a must visit breakfast spot for anyone interested in a quick breakfast, a sit down meal, and everything in between. If I had any criticisms, it's that the phone line is always busy and they don't have booth seating, but they make up for these shortcomings in so many other ways that they become the last thing on your mind once the food comes out. read more

Solid local spot. Looks like it'd be a good place to meet up with people or spend a bit of time in the leather chairs (see photo). I forgot to eat breakfast recently - something I rarely do - and remembered that Isaac's was a place I had been meaning to try for a while. I was amazed at the types of bagels available, though with a quick scan, I didn't find Pumpernickel. I did find Rainbow, though, and that's not something you see everyday! I got lox cream cheese on marble rye. The texture of the bagel was on point, though I wish the rye flavor had come through a little bit more. The bagel was schemered a little haphazardly, so I had to spread it out a little bit more. I also thought the lox cream cheese could have used a little bit more lox in it. read more
