Top notch service! They have a nice list of syrups to add to your coffee. I asked if they had any sugar free options and to my surprise they had more than just vanilla and caramel. They have a toasted marshmallow and I was intrigued! The nice barista mentioned having it with Caramel it's very good. I asked if I can have it made less sweet. She said absolutely. SOLD! The prices are very reasonable. The bars it's was right. I loved it! She even checked in later with me if I enjoyed it. I would definitely come here for another cup not only because their coffee is good but they value their customers.

Emerald Isle Latte and tomato hummus sandwich.

Was in town for a work conference and needed a pick me up. Adorable interior and very friendly staff. I got an iced Emerald Isle latte which is pistachio and white chocolate. Yum! I also got the tomato and hummus sandwich on sourdough. That was very simple but yummy and a perfect afternoon snack. They also had a basket of mini paper cranes to take when you picked up your food. Very charming! Overall, I'd stop in again.

The Bean 226 is a tiny but super busy coffee shop. I was here on Saturday, there was hardly a spot to sit. They have a huge selection of beautiful mugs right by the front counter, not the best spot, since they could easily get knocked over. They have some locally made items for sale. There was art, jewelry, tee shirts, and more. It seems to be a very community oriented coffee shop. They have a whole variety of baked goods, as well as sandwiches they can make. I got the Banana Split Latte. It was ready quickly. I found a spot by the window on a bar stool. This latte was very tasty and frothy, but I couldn't taste any banana in it. It was still a bit sweet from the chocolate in it. They had a ton of available seats outside, it is still too cold to utilize those for now. I had a pleasant experience at The Bean 226, and will be returning soon.

They offer specialty lattes and bagels and breakfast sandwiches , among other things. Everything is delicious! We went during a morning rush and had to wait. It was worth it.

I recently discovered The Bean 226 after a Yelp search for Windsor area coffee shops. With a 4.5 Star rating and over 100 reviews, it seemed like a good bet. It's located next to Taste of India in Windsor Center. There are all kinds of coffee drinkers, and we look for different things. I'm primarily a black iced coffee and/or cold brew drinker, and I drink home pour overs almost daily. The most important thing for me is the selection of a respected roaster, and the quality and type of beans used for iced coffee since I'm drinking it black. I prefer something bright and acidic. But I also like coffees that are smooth, balanced and/or rich, etc. I ordered a black iced coffee. I can usually figure out the roaster for the beans because coffee shops often display the bags and/or sell bags of coffee from that roaster. I couldn't find any clues at Bean 226. So I asked. The person who helped me didn't know. The black iced coffee was below average for CT coffee shops that I've visited. It was slightly unpleasant going down and in the aftertaste. It had either a slightly over-brewed or a past prime taste. Given their Yelp rating, I assume that Bean 226 must be good at other things like coffee beverages and/or food items. The atmosphere of the shop was cute. Service was fine, other than the lack of knowledge about their coffee. Bean 226 didn't connect for me. 2 Stars

Nice little coffee shop. Baked goods are gigantic and fairly tasty, coffee is bitter, needs to be in a latte to be drinkable. Randomly found this little breakfast spot not too far away from us. We decided to take a detour and get some drinks while out and about. The place is very much what I would consider a modern coffee shop: darker, lots of clutter pieces but not dirty. decent list of drinks and bakery items to munch on. The problem I have with this type of coffee shop. They don't brew coffee to order. You get drip which is brewed sometime between when you order it or when they opened, or you get something out of the espresso machine. I don't mind waiting for a good coffee to be brewed up, but I don't like having to result to americanos every time I want to have a warm cup of bean water. I decided to go with an americano, gilfriend opted for a fancy iced tea with tropical flavors. The bakery items were gigantic! bear claws were appropriately proportioned to an actual bear and the apple fritters were the size of a small bushel! So I got an apple fritter and the girlfriend got a biscotti. The americano, the coffee they used was too dark. It was closer to burnt, and the seep on the coffee brought out a lot of the bitter notes. had to add lots of sugar, milk, and more than a smattering of salt to combat the bitterness. It almost feels like the coffee is made very strong to compensate for the latte side of things. The bakery items were tasty. The apple fritter opted to not do chunks of apple through the dough and instead did an apple compote in a pocket in the pastry. It was a pleasant surprise when I got to it, since the rest of the pastry didn't really have an apple flavor. Overall, not bad but not really great coffee either. It's a good stop for the area, but unless you want a latte I don't think the coffee is good enough to stand on its own.

I met my mom at The Bean 226 to grab something warm to drink before heading down for a walk at the Windsor Center River Trail. I'm so happy we stopped in because I had a Hazelnutty Mocha latte that was so delicious I drank it in about 10 minutes. We also shared a cinnamon raisin bagel, which was average, nothing special. Their cafe is adorable, I loved the mural, the artwork they had displayed, and the great natural light from the front win The cashier could have been a little bit more patient and helpful with recommendations. But otherwise, we really enjoyed our visit and will be back the next time we're in the area.

I love coffee, drinking it hot or cold, and what I had here is in my all-time Top Five Percent. It was that good. I had a sip of my wife's Chai Latte and thought it was excellent as well. What really impressed me were the flavors of both drinks- not overpowering, but strong enough to appreciate them. The Coffee Guy has it all - specialty coffees, matcha, chai, espresso drinks, and pastries and sweet treats to pair with your coffee cup. We couldn't resist grabbing a few on our way out, and we took home a box with a Spinach croissant, iced blueberry scone, and a cruffin (croissant/muffin hybrid). We loved our visit to the Coffee Guy, and I was so impressed by the total experience, I just subscribed to their newsletter. This one's a bit further than I normally trek, but decided to try them anyways. Got here early and the place was quiet. The plaza is relatively new and this was the only non-chain I could find there. Wandering in, had the front end lady greet me. Debated on the French toast, but decided to buck the trend and try their tacos. Also ordered a latte, which took a few minutes to make. Coffee is lavazaa which is okay coffee. Coffee wasn't too strong but it also lacked any flavor beyond milk. The tacos did take about 15 minutes to make, and I appreciate the attention but it did takes while to come out. The tacos were actually pretty good! The delay was because they did a heavy burned cheese layer on the tortilla. The avocado creama, creamy eggs, spicy homemade chorizo, and pickled onion lead to a very well balanced and well seasoned bite. Plus they were huge in size but every bite offered a similar experience. If I had to be a stickler, there was a lot of potatoes on each taco. Filler is fine, but I did notice the amount. As a taco, it's a very solid contender to one of the better tacos I've had in ct. the quality is there, the quantity is plentiful, and the price is right. If I only got the tacos, and I was warned that it would be a few minutes to make sure they came out right, then it would be a five-star taco. Because the coffee is okay and there was a bit of a wait, I did dock a star because of it. It's a great place for a local breakfast and lunch spot. So long as you go in knowing that it might take a little bit to get your order then the wait is worth it. The vibe is chill, the food is good to great, and the staff are very nice.

This last attempt, there was a bunch of staff around so I got the full experience. The staff were very friendly and informative. They explained the pottery painting side of things to anyone painting a piece. They had a wealth of knowledge in that regard, explaining how to get the best results for each medium. I wasn't here for the pottery, I was here for the food. So they sat at a 4 top and let me go up to the cafe to order. The menu is basic, egg sandwiches, avocado toast, French toast, coffees and lattes. Some fresh baked pastries available but mostly simple dishes. I opted for their French toast latte and an egg sandwiches with bacon. Also got a cinnamon roll that was baked that morning. Food came out after a few minutes. Not speedy but not slow. Took some pics and dug in. There's a fundamental rule that I follow when reviewing. "The flavors on the description need to match the flavors of the dish." There's sandwich did this exemplary. The garlic aoli had a strong but slightly acidic bite to it, which helped the arugula's bitterness. The egg was fluffy, the tomato grilled and salted, and the bacon perfectly crispy. The soft home made bread was almost too soft, compressing down to nothing after each bite. If anything, the bread could've been grilled to give it a bit more structure. But besides that gripe, it's one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The latte, that's what took the star off. The coffee is giv beans, so a good quality product. The problem was it was extremely, overbearingly bitter. With a French toast latte, you'd expect the sweet to counteract the bitter. But nope, the sweet came from the cold foam and the concentrated coffee at the base led to straight sips of cringingly bitter coffee. After mixing the cold foam into the coffee, it became more bearable. But the damage was done by that point, and my pallet was shot. Had to dump most of the coffee. Overall, it's a neat place to go to. It's rare to have activities along with good food, and the staff there make the experience great. Not too much a fan of the specialty coffee, but the food is well worth the price. A solid food choice for Main Street.
