Not bad, but not the same I remember coming to the food truck and subsequently the picnic tables in the building for this specific business and getting some delicious chicken and waffles. I tried them again recently, and the quality looks like it's slipping. The waffle was not fresh, felt like a prepackaged waffle warmed up. The chicken wasn't breaded to be crispy, and the corn fritters were actually pretty tasty. The chicken was cooked well, and the portions were very large, but the quality was lacking. It's not bad chicken and waffles, but it is not as great as I once remembered. I was in the Manchester area and saw cheeks chicken and waffles. I recall having a great lunch there about a year ago. Knowing I wasn't able to eat there due to time constraints I ordered tenders and waffle, wings and waffles, six piece nuggets and hash fries. This isn't a fast food place. The food is made fresh to order with care. The 20 minute wait was well worth it. Service was fantastic and friendly, and the place is spotless. The smell of the food as I was driving was almost unbearable. Even though I reheated in an air fryer the chicken was moist, tender and delicious. I was provided warm syrup on the side which went amazingly with the waffle. They made sure to separate the waffle and the chicken, leading to an amazing experience taste wise. The service would be the best based off of how considerate they are, they provided utensils, which not to mention came with a fork, knife, salt and pepper packets and a napkin in one plastic casing. I also received napkins on the side, which they made sure was enough. Most places throw a fork in there and that's it. I have worked in the service industry for ten years and I have never witnessed a more unprofessional manager in my life. My husband and I would order here every couple weeks through Door Dash, after we ordered this week we got a call saying there was a problem with the order. They said they shouldn't be giving us "free sauce" because we had wrote in the message that we wanted a singular side of sauce. I told the manager we were happy to pay but there isn't a button on Door Dash, he proceeded to tell me that we should contact Door Dash to change their menu (something that the customer can't even do). My husband called him back moments later and he was extremely rude to him as well, saying he would go out of business by giving away .50 cent sauce (mind you the entire time we were willing to pay there was just no way to add it to the order). It was expired, and looking at the other soda bottles in the same cooler, most of them were expired too. To make matters worse, because I opened my drink, there were no refunds. Oh, and if you didn't open it, they were placed back into the cooler to be served to another customer. Are you serious? If I didn't open my drink, you would have given it to another customer? The waffle was the fluffiest I've ever eaten. It was mid afternoon when we ate so perhaps they could give our food extra special attention. There are some dissatisfied reviews on yelp about service. All I can say is that I've never felt more welcome than I did with Lena working the register. Apparently there are multiple Cheeks locations which are run by different owners. Perhaps those are the ones getting cranky reviews on yelp. Hard to say. All I know is that I was happy to dig in and happy to get takeout for my wife who was a two hour drive away. My advice, forget Doordash and Uber Eats. Get in the car. Drive to Cheeks. Ask questions, taste some sauces, then settle into on of the two 8 person picnic tables and chow down. I had ordered a maple mustard sauce for the chicken and there was brown sugar and honey butter for the waffles. I had ordered the bone in wings but after my sister order the boneless wings that looked twice as big, I know that I'll be ordering that from now on. The waffles was crispy and sweet while the chicken had a nice zing to it while being savory. There was melted honey butter and brown sugar that had melted forming streams of sugar delight. A partially cold night, you'll best bundle up in the winter time and during the summer time, the AC will be blasting so you'll be good. The tenders were so crispy, yet still moist on the inside. Delicious, delicious. And the batter they use seems to be homemade and didn't look like they just warmed up some frozen tenders. They have a variety of sauces and although I chose the mango habanero and didn't quite like it, there are many others I will definitely be back to try. She clearly didn't want to be there but answered our questions about the sauce options, of which there are many. The cheeks sauce was the best of the 3 we tried (including Thai chili and teriyaki). It was the most flavorful and unique. While we got all the tenders tossed - and while I normally appreciate a like saucing - the other two types of tenders did not have as much of an awesome kick. The the Thai chili was super mild despite being listed as hot. Lastly, I was pretty disappointed in the waffle. It tasted as if there was an ingredient missing from the batter, or something.
