Friendly employees, clean location, they accept inKind Cash which is a plus!! Fresh crispy chicken-- even after driving 15 mins in the car. 10/10 Trio Tender Combo & Melt. My only FYI: The ranch is delicious but would possibly be a let down for the typical buttermilk ranch lover.

Haven Hot is one of my two favorite places for hot chicken in CT. I recently stopped for some mild tenders and fries. Sometimes I go medium, but that can be a little hot for me. The tenders are meaty and tender. The breading has great texture. The fries and sauces were good. Ranch is a favorite. The spice level was right on. I got takeout, but there is some seating if you want to eat in. Five Stars

Came here on a Thursday night and boy was it busy. Might consider ordering ahead next time. 1st I will warn you that mild was indeed quite spicy. I can't handle spice and that's why I went for mild but my mouth was burning. (Took 2 tums immediately when I got home). So be careful if you're more sensitive. Next time I will go for the country(plain). The chicken itself was big, juicy, and crunchy. I also enjoyed the French fries. As for the banana pudding I could live without, wasn't anything to rave about. Journey was a great help, she was attentive and kind and helped us with whatever we needed. She went above and beyond. I also appreciated her opinion regarding the items on the menu. In regards to pricing definitely over priced sure good portions but roughly $20 for a chicken sandwich and fries at a "fast" food place is a lot. Especially in a college town not the most affordable thing.

My first time trying one of this local chains places and it was a great find and certainly better than one of those "mega" chains. Service was quick and I ordered the chicken sandwich. Got it with a medium seasoning which had a long but not overwhelming kick to it. The chicken itself was top shelf and bigger than the potato bun it was on. Add some slaw to it and it was a filling lunch. The fries were good and we enjoyed the bread pudding too. A great little place which fills a nice niche. 4.25 stars.

Couldn't be happier their newest location is only 10 minutes away from home!!! Easily our favorite hot chicken sandwich in CT! They are going to get sooo sick of us! If it's your first visit you HAVE to order "The Sandwich" and their "hot" is the perfect level if you like it spicy! This recent visit, we tried their hottest level (Haven) and two off-menu levels that are even hotter which you can ask for on request. INSANE. We were sweating! But I think their "Haven" level is still a pretty good level of heat without complety burning off your taste buds. They also have a limited time Garlic Parm sandwich if you can't take the heat, and other calmer options as well. You need to finish off with their banana pudding to cool it all down. Absolutely 10/10. Welcome to Newington Haven Hot Chicken!!!

The size of the chicken tenders was a pleasant surprise! Very generous indeed! I really enjoyed the coleslaw and the fries. The mild flavor was too much for me but I will try the regular one!!

It is obvious that the owners, managers and chefs take great care and great pride in giving you the best possible meal at a very reasonable price. There's always something we are excited to check out when we haven't been in a while. The restaurant is both nice enough that you feel really good bringing your out of town friends here to try and impress while also being low-key enough for a simple date night with your significant other. They have a few non-alcoholic drink options. As someone who's living the sober lifestyle, it's always nice to see that. The restaurant is well managed and well maintained. Always clean, servers seem invested. It doesn't hurt to make a reservation if you're coming on a Friday or weekend night. Chicken is the star of the show here, and we almost always order that with some of the ala carte sides, but my wife also likes to grab something else off the menu and I'll usually sneak a bite. We've never had anything that fell below expectations.

Morning cravings. I drove by here a couple of times and…read moretoday we decided to try it. It was a busy morning since businesses in the area were without power due to a recent storm. The place was buzzing with activity. We got to seat at the front counter so I couldn't see the dining room but I enjoyed watching everyone working together to make everything happen. One of the things that caught my attention was the juicer. They have an actual orange juice machine and I wanted to try that juice so bad and when ai did I couldn't believe how good it tasted. Our food was good also, the only thing I didn't like was how small the portions were, you can actually count my potatoes, by the time the dish made it to me they were cold. Pancakes very plain. Im a huge fan of eggs Benedict so I decided to try the country Benedict( 4th of July special) , a bit dry because of the biscuit and not enough sauce but tasted good. I would come back for the OJ

Once seated it was a tight squeeze. Their menu features toast, pancakes, wraps, waffles and omelets. My two friends got very tasty looking omelets. My other friend and I got Stuffed French Toast to share. The Banana Split Stuffed French Toast was plenty big for us to share. This French Toast was stuffed with whipped cream cheese, surrounded by banana halves and strawberries. There was a little ice cream cone in the middle of the French toast filled with more cream cheese. Thank goodness we shared this, even then we couldn't finish it. This French toast was so fresh, everything was melting on it. Their prices are very reasonable, no wonder it was so packed. I would return here again.

However, that has now forced us to find somewhere new! Here's how it went on my 2nd visit! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right "downtown" Newington is this gem. It's at the very beginning or the end depending on your direction of travel. The parking here is... strange. If you park right here or where the GoldBurgers is next door you'll have to pull out or back out onto the main road. However, if you park further "into" the plaza then you're much safer. There's also a giant parking lot right behind all of the local businesses here. Once inside it's clear that this is a takeout spot. There isn't even a place to sit down in here, but there are some chairs/tables directly outside. Service: There isn't much service since you just order at the counter and wait for your food for to come out. The people were friendly though. Food: The first time I came here I had a spicy steak & cheese sandwich that I really loved so this time I tried the Bronx Bomber, which is pastrami, Swiss cheese, red onion, coleslaw, horseradish and mayo on a grilled rye bun. It was warm and toasted. I loved the crunch from the bread, the creaminess from the coleslaw and horseradish, but the pastrami was delicious! Salty, hearty and meaty. Very good sandwich and I look forward to checking them out again in the future! Value: It's a sandwich shop so prepare to spend up to $15.00 for a nice, filling sandwich. They have many more things to offer as this is a bakery of sorts as well! Make sure to check this place out when you're in the area! You won't be disappointed.

I came with three other people on a Saturday morning and were lucky enough to get seated right away. Like all diners in Connecticut, this place had a menu with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert featuring all the classics and giving me a slight panic attack whenever I tried to pick something. After some deliberation, I stuck with my favourite breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes and these things did not let me down. I had a short stack but these bad boys were pretty dang beefy and tasted really, really good. I'm sure the maple syrup was not actual maple syrup, but I love the cheap crap and it sure did the job on these pancakes. Oh, and the best part about this place is that it's like one of those old style dinners that looks like a silver salt shaker. Overall, Olympia Diner is a great diner and I think the only one left on the Berlin Turnpike (don't quote me on that). The food here was great, the staff was friendly, and the environment was "Connecticut diner" and that's what I was looking for. Place is great.

The sad thing is this salt shaker was better looking than the first one I complained about. This is disgusting and I assume a health code violation. I will not be going back to Olympia diner in the future.
