Banana Pudding Cup
Lanasha R.

I visited smash and shake the day they opened so I'm a little delayed with my review. The burgers were a bit delayed which was understandable for the amount of people ordering. I got the OK style burger with onions and my friends got the single and double. We all can agree they were way too greasy for something to eat on the regular but good burgers overall. The cookies and cream milkshake was pretty thick and consistent. I didn't really care for the banana pudding cup but I'm not a fan in general so to each their own! I think the space is cute. There's a little grass wall and a few tables. They also offer frappes and those viral fruit desserts if that's your thing.

I wanted to wait to come here to eat so I can get the full experience and not a rush. I got the mushroom Swiss single patty burger with their signature sauce and pickles. The burger was mid, it's smashed so it was kind of dry. I had to get ketchup on the side to dip it in there for some extra sauce. I don't need the extra calories so I didn't like that. I tried their crinkle fries, it was basic and good. Nothing special where I would come because I'm craving their fries. Its local burger spot, the price wasn't expensive. I would come back again if I'm craving it but it's not my top burger place

Well First time and I wasn't really impressed.. I ordered a single classic W/fries Combo and it was dry and the burger got lost in the big bun. The place is nicely decorated and busy. Needs better lighting because it looks closed from the outside

Can't go wrong with a smash burger, or crispy chicken tenders for lunchtime from Smash & Shake. I took mine Togo because the wait was longer for the lunch rush. Solid clean location, pretty quick service and I like their retro style storefront.

The one pound burger. A sight to behold. 3 minutes down the hatch - let's make it a challenge. Anyway, very good burger. Obviously a smash patty, which I love. The cheese makes it taste "classic" if that makes sense. Very good pricing on most of the items. (11.99) for the one pounder I believe. Fries were pretty average. Spoke with some of the locals in the area and they seemed cool! It was busy and the cashier was hustling but still having a positive attitude.

Great smash burgers and Nashville Hot chicken slider! Krinkle-cut fries ( our favorite). Desserts looked great. We'll be back!

I've had smash burgers everywhere... nothing hits like Smash and Shake. Worth a 50 min drive from New Haven every time.

If you haven't hit up Chopt yet, what are you actually doing?!‍…read more My friend took me there ,for the first time , yesterday, and let me tell you, it was on point. I ordered the Sweet Apple Orchard salad and customized it with the hot panko chicken and some cucumber; Eleeeeee-lite! The portion size was also huge. I couldn't even finish it in one sitting. I'm honestly stuck between this and Wendy's strawberry salad now, but Chopt might've just taken the crown. I could literally eat this every single day. 10/10, HIGHLY recommend!

I decided to create my own bowl and made it clear out loud that it was my first visit. However, no one explained that several toppings are extra or that there's a limit on how many items you can choose from certain sections before being charged. Since I wasn't informed, I kept adding ingredients as I went along. The person making my bowl never mentioned the additional costs, and another employee at the counter kept staring at my bowl, instead of offering guidance. A simple explanation like "you can choose up to three from this section, anything extra costs more" would have made a big difference--especially for a first-time customer. When I got to the register, the total came to $40, which was honestly shocking for a salad. The food may be good, but the lack of communication and customer service really took away from the experience. First impressions matter, and this one definitely missed the mark. I have always passed by that road and wanted to try chopt. The salad was okay liked the falafel and the options they had.

Think foods like hummus, lamb, shawarma, falafel, fatoush, Tabbouleh, kebeh, grape leaves, and baklava. I picked up a beauty of a dish to take home today. My container was stuffed with at least two cups of yellow rice and two of the largest grilled chicken drumsticks I have ever seen. My food came with two side dishes- a small container of sweet, delicious rice pudding and a second container of what seemed like a mildly spicy tapioca. I had one drumstick and some rice for dinner and they were both excellent. The chicken was liberally seasoned, and the chicken itself was moist, juicy, and full of flavor. The rice was soft and flavorful and pretty much perfect. Hats off to the friendly gent who waited on me and handed the food over with a big smile!

Toby's is a Peruvian restaurant in East Hartford. I went here to try their Bread Pudding. This is a…read moresmall restaurant, it looks to be pretty new. They have some cute holiday decor, and on each table they have a bottle of wine. The waitress who came to serve me appeared very limited in English. I told her I'd like a slice of the Bread Pudding, and I pointed to it in the menu. She told me "no" as she pointed back to it using her pen. Ok. That's disappointing. I noticed they make fresh juice from strawberries, mango and other fruits. I told her I'd like the strawberry juice. Again she pointed to it and said "no". Why did I come here, everything is "no"? I told her I'll have the mango juice. She finally said "ok". She asked me if I want my juice with aqua or with leche. I told her aqua. Wouldn't it be a smoothie if it was with milk? I also wondered what kind of response I'd get if I asked for the flan. "No" is the answer to that! Shortly after, I heard the blender running. My juice was delivered to me. It came in a large beer mug, and was filled to the brim. This was so tasty and truly mango! I finished my juice and waited forever for the bill. It wasn't that busy there were two other patrons. I asked for the bill, both of the waitresses passed by me at least ten times before I finally got the bill. While the juice was very tasty, they had nothing else that I was interested in, while all of these things are in the menu. The checkout process was very slow. I will not be stopping by Toby's again.

Didn't know what to expect walking in - never knew there was a restaurant in this plaza!…read more It was much bigger inside than I expected - lots of room for dining inside! I was expecting more of a take out vibe, but that was not the case. I ordered the butifarra sandwich (I think they only have sandwiches on the weekend? Not sure). I honestly wasn't sure what I was ordering, but when I got it I believe it was similar to shaved pork loin. I honestly wish I got asada for meat because I am not the biggest pork fan, but everything else on the sandwich made it come together! They gave me a green sauce that she told me to put on the sandwich and she wasn't wrong!! It was DELICIOUS, I wish i had 5 more cups of it! The Portuguese roll was also so soft and fresh. It was great. The staff was all very friendly! There was an older man there who greeted me and waved me over once my food was done (didn't take longer than 10 minutes from ordering to me going out the door). Was it Toby?! Maybe! I can't wait to come back and try the Lomo and Ceviche!
