    Oreo ice cream
    Michele G.

Cute location with homemade ice cream and animals. Ice cream was really good quality and very quick service. Tends to be the more traditional flavors- I had Oreo but was very good and yummy. A bit pricey but recommend for good ice cream

This ice cream is delicious! I enjoyed the orange pineapple and my friend the coconut cup and we had a great time! Extra points for admiring the beautiful flowers on the property and the peacock while savoring our ice cream! They even have llamas! Adorable place but don't forget to bring cash!! Service is very fast!

Cutest ice cream shop! They are seasonal so be sure to stop by when they are open. Lot of flavors to choose from! Grab a cone and sit by their beautiful garden filled with flowers and birds. Cash only.

Do you like crazy flavors? If so, then look elsewhere because this pace has classic written all over it and I mean that in the best way. This place is everything you want a farm fresh ice cream stand to be: great traditional flavors with huge portions (albeit at $5 for a small) and friendly quick service. I got a mint chip cup and it was full of flavor and importantly had a good chip/ice cream ratio. Felt like two scoops. And then you can sit among the chickens under a shade tree while you enjoy the summer evening. Ah the simple pleasures in life.

The grape nut ice cream is out of this world good. The young lady that takes your order is very nice and takes your order with a smile. She recommended the grape nut flavor. It was creamy and delicious. I tried to be good and ordered only one scoop. My husband fought mosquitoes and went back to order me a regular size. I'm going to eat that tomorrow. Wear bug repellent, the mosquitoes are vicious. I ended up with three bites within seconds of getting out of the car. I had lavender on my arms, but they bit the back of my ankles. My husband was bitten once. Maybe the owners could put eucalyptus and mint around to keep the blood suckers away. My husband wanted the cheesecake flavor but they no longer had it. He was disappointed. He ordered butter pecan and cookie dough. He said the cookie dough flavor was decent. He enjoyed the butter pecan very much with caramel and heath.

My favorite ice cream. I got here every so often while at work. They're always friendly and nice. They have many different flavors of ice cream to choose from. Once you get your ice cream you can sit and enjoy it while looking at the llamas.

Bloom Hill Farms, long standing and popular stop in Bloomfield for a frozen treat. In the past, the farm was active with greenhouses and farm animals for enjoy watching while you take a picnic table seat with your treat. Recently on a beautiful spring day, we stopped for a cone and a sundae. The line ran from the window, around the porch, and down the steps into the gravel parking lot. The line moved quickly, besides we were in no rush. My wife ordered a "regular" cone with "Nightmare" ice cream; chocolate and peanut butter ice cream with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. I went off the usual cone track and requested a "regular" Sundae with a scoop of Banana and a scoop of Coconut, with a drizzle of caramel, whipped cream, and topper cherry. I rubbed my palms together with anticipation! The cone arrived first with a heaping mound of "Nightmare" - WOW. Next, my sundae with passed through the window...in an 8 oz plastic cup. Really? Broken down into thirds, constrained scoop of banana, same size scoop of coconut, the final third whipped cream and cherry with caramel drizzled throughout. Disappointing, to an "Ice-Cream-a-holic" like me. Despite, we enjoy on a picnic bench in back, steeped in sunshine; but "Where are all the animals?" Just a few Dove and Grouse in a pen. We hoped they were all temporarily off for a Day at the Spa. Moving forward, I will revert back to my cone of soft serve or scoops on a suga' cone.

Great ice cream options and friendly service! Definitively worthy the drive if you are in Windsor and BDL area!

Busy little joint on a Sunday afternoon. You can order a cone and watch the peacocks, fancy pheasants, chickens and roosters in a small barn yard atmosphere. Soooo good! I had a scoop of apple caramel crisp ice cream, it was almost like eating cold apple cobbler. We are just passing through, but if we lived here, Bloom Hill Farm could be addictive!

Large sundae - pistachio, cotton candy and black cherry vanilla flavors
    Sho R.

This is a small ice cream stand. There were enough parking spots. There is no indoor seating. They only have outdoor seating. I went with 3 scoop sundae - pistachio, cotton candy and black cherry vanilla flavors. All 3 were amazing flavors. Pistachio ice cream had whole pistachios in it. The extra thick banana milk shake was also amazing.

More views of the flowers that go all the way down the stone wall.

This was one of the I've cream spots I brought my kids to this summer. It is a wonderful place and the woman who took our orders was very friendly and wonderful. I ordered the mint chip ice cream which was excellent. My older son got chocolate brownie chip and cookie dough (because he couldn't decide on one flavor, who can blame him!). The younger one ordered vanilla soft serve with gummy bears, they were very generous with the ice cream and the toppings and the gummy bears were raved about. They have a really cute area to sit and enjoy outside with picnic tables, I throughly enjoyed the beautiful flowers. Definitely a place to check out but make sure to bring cash because they don't take cards.

After a day of lawn mowing, tree pruning, and landscaping in tropical temperatures, we were so ready for a frozen treat. We hit Bloom Hill Farm after a quick trip to Loew's. Very nice place indeed. Twenty-eight types of hard ice cream or yogurt, plus soft serve, tons of toppings, shakes, sundaes, even a frozen treat for your poochie - Vanilla ice cream on a dog bone !. I never saw Blueberry Schnapps on any ice cream board before, so of course I had to have me a taste. No booze of course, but a nice mild blueberry ice cream with frozen chips of real blueberries. It was fabulously refreshing. A real nice independent ice cream shop - check it out if you're in the 'hood.

They also had an apple fritter/donut/cider stand. I purchased half a dozen of apple fritters for $8; you can add extra cinnamon sugar. It was flat, wide, and a very easy walk. At the end of the trail is the Farmington River. The land is mixed with fields, woods, wetlands, and waterways. My kids and I enjoyed this easy walk. There were informational signs along the trail. There was a native plant garden. There was a small bridge connecting the two fields. Since it's November, the field was empty. Every year, in the late summer and fall, they have a corn maze; we missed it this year but look forward to checking that out. I look forward to coming back in the summer to check out their winery also. At the end of the trail, there was an apiary, some Adirondack chairs, and a path to the river. You'll see a Boy Scout kiosk that signals the start of the trail, which goes straight ahead and then makes a right turn. Everything is marked with blue lettered poles and blue markers. The trail gives you some very pretty views of farmland, barns, and a cornfield on your right, and woods on your left. You'll cross a small bridge as the trail continues Northbound, and the upper section of the trail gives you some terrific scenery as you skirt the Farmington River. The trail isn't a loop, you basically follow it to the end, then turn around and walk back. Round trip is just a little more than a mile, so this is super manageable if you haven't been doing a lot of hiking. There used to be a flagpole at the end of the trail, but it wasn't there when we visited. The scenery is very varied, and we saw some cool old farm equipment, and a field of grapevines too.

Let's start with the gas station aspect, and I have to admit it is sure nice to have another gas station option in Bloomfield. Break Point has 4 gas islands with two pumps on each island. Today, Regular gas was $3.199 for both cash and credit purchases. The gasoline area is kind of tight, especially when consumers park in front of the convenience store's side door, so be careful pulling up to, or leaving the pumps. Inside, the store is very neatly stocked, and the personnel were super friendly. We made a beeline to the ice cream counter and perused their 28 flavors of hard scooped ice cream. A small dish (4-ounce) was $5.25. If we had gone for a bigger portion, 6-ounce or 8-ounce would have cost $7.25 or $9.25. I decided on a small dish of their PB Chip Swirl, and my wife asked for some Coconut and Banana in her small dish. I'm not sure where their ice crem comes from, but it was excellent. The Peanut Butter, Coconut and Banana flavors really popped! Bloomfield Break Point has a pretty cool social media footprint and a wonderful logo consisting of a sunglasses-wearing hot dog holding an ice cream cone and a cup of coffee in its itty-bitty hot dog hands.
