Great little ice cream shop to stop in and treat yourself. Staff is friendly and efficient and there are so many yummy, creative flavors to choose from. Connecticut has so many fabulous creameries it's hard to compete. It's a great close choice!

My friend beat me in miniature golf so we agree, whoever wins buys the losers, an ice cream treat. When you ask you shall receive. I was beaten by 10 points, and so we decided to go to their favorite ice cream shop located in Avon, J. Fosters. This is a cute little ice cream shop that makes their delicious treat from scratch. Everything is fresh and they also have pints and ice cream cookies, singles, and more you can purchase to take home. You can also purchase their products from your local Big Y Store in the area! Thanks to your hospitality and service, it was a nice fun little visit. Of course, I didn't get ice cream because I was still full from my lunch lol

We were craving ice cream and decided to check this place out. I read some good reviews but missed the tip to try out their Graham Central Station, oh well, next time! I had the Heath bar crunch on a cone and it was delicious. Three scoops that were nicley plopped together on the cone. The best part is getting to the cone in my opinion. There is a picnic table outside for those wamer days; I'm sure they will need more of them. There were plenty of seating inside. The parking lot was pretty packed but we found a couple of spots open. The service was quick and friendly. A great place for kids too, my toddler loved his scoop of blue ice cream. Overall, a decent spot to get that sweetheart tooth satisfied.

Sooooo good, one of these is Graham Central Station. checkout my reel on ig: @clinkdrinkeat.ct

I LOVE THIS ICE CREAM!!!!!!! I felt obligated to write this now, as they're closed for the season but were taking orders for Valentine's Day by email, and I ordered 3 quarts and a pint and picked them up two days ago. Today is Valentine's Day so perhaps we will try the third new flavor we ordered tonight, but I'm sharing the love today because the Passion Fruit Sorbet and Raspberry Chocolate Truffle that we tried the last two nights blew us away! When I stopped in to pickup the ice cream Sunday, I was told they were busy in back making ice cream. I mean can you get any fresher? I also ordered a quart of the Graham Central Station because I already know that's a favorite of mine! I mean heck, I get it for dessert every time I go to Salute in Hartford and the last time I wanted it at Scoops and Sprinkles in Rocky Hill someone finished it right in front of me when I was there. It's a popular flavor and hot seller, because it's amazing and perfect and what dreams are made of (if you like ice cream anyway)! The last new flavor we have yet to try, but I'm super excited about, is Red Velvet. If it's awful I'll come edit this and let you know, however I'd bet my car that's not going to happen because I don't think they can make anything awful! The one other time I did stop in for just a cup the service was good and the restaurant and restroom were clean. I'd literally be in trouble if this place were down the street from me, well I guess I'd walk there to burn a few calories while going to indulge, but unfortunately isn't nowhere near walking distance for me. I did find the 3 quarts and a pint of sorbet to be on the pricey side, but what isn't nowadays? And, for perfection? Sometimes you just have to splurge! Trust me, my fiancé and I are glad I did! The flavors burst in your mouth and the ice cream is rich, so I'll be controlling the portions so we can make it last for a week or two, LOL! They have sorbet, gelato, vegan flavors and seasonal flavors, literally something for everyone! Toppings and Sundaes and cakes that can be ordered, whatever you fancy to have a party in your mouth!

I went there today for the first time!! To start, they have so much space! Inside and outside. It smelled like fresh waffle cones when I walked in.They make homemade cakes and pies, which are good prices! They offer everything from ice cream to gelato to lemonade. I tried their cheesecake gelato and it was so delicious!! The staff and owner were so friendly!! I can't wait to go back!

Ice cream spot with a wide variety of different flavors, homemade waffle cones, and plenty of seating. The ice cream was solid, but nothing phenomenal. The cone was a little stale as well 6.5/10

Cherry vanilla- obviously my absolute favorite

Continues to be my absolute favorite ice cream spot! They just remolded the inside seating area, too!

1st Timers to J Foster Ice Cream in Avon. We agree with our fellow Yelp reviewers -- decent ice cream, small parking lot, and a bit on the expense side. I had a 2 scoop cup of salted camel and toasted almond, my wife had a waffle cone with pistachio & Almond Joy. We would return in the future.

I am impressed. This may be the best ice cream place in Hartford. As other Yelpers mentioned, Graham Central was the absolute best flavor here. Fig which was a gelato, and made with almond milk, was amazing. It was a flavor which I never had before. Cashew caramel flavor here is the best cashew caramel I ever had. It had good amount of caramel sauce and cashew pieces. Toasted almond and coconut mount were good flavors as well.

Smallest 3 oz scoop I ever had in my life for an $8 Sundae. Ice cream was very tasty though and so was the fudge.

One of the best ice cream places around for its unique flavors and a good "new location"…read more I've been a fan of their Ice cream since their old spot in Granby. I always enjoy the blood orange chocolate chip and seeing what unique flavors are concocted (geranium, key lime cheesecake, pomegranate). It's pretty pricey for what you get (1 scoop, 1.5 scoops and onward) and my scoop today was rather small. They also sell pints for $8 which is a better deal. Samples are a must because of all the options. Disappointed that they don't make ice cream cakes anymore, especially because J Foster's just isn't as good. Located near the Coffee Spot, library and Fitzgeralds, it has parking around the back or on the street.

Place is on a road with lots of shopping options. Parked outside while the missus ordered dinner. Wait was going to be a little while, so I went inside to get an ice cream appetizer. They have lots of unique ice cream flavors, but opted for the boysenberry jasmine because it was the weirdest one that I thought she would enjoy. The ice cream was a little icy but the scoop was a good size and the boysenberry was not overly tart. It was like a nice light tea as an ice cream. Quite pleasant, The food was okay. I appreciate the crust on the grilled cheese, the dedication to using straight up American cheese, and the bread choice. They need. Mozzarella or provolone option so one can get those epic cheese pulls. Also they need to use a sharper cheese to increase that cheese flavor. The Asian tacos were very wet, chicken was not seasoned and the veggies were fresh but lacked seasoning. It was a fine taco, but no flavor. The veggie bahn mi, much more seasoning on the veggies here than the veggies in the taco. We took those veggies out of the bahn mi and subbed them into the Asian tacos to give it more flavor. That worked. The bread was this artisan roll with a crispy outside but soft inside. A better bahn mi than other places, but the bread needs to be more akin to a hoagie roll rather than an artisanal sandwich roll. As a food location, I put them on par with other ice cream shops that offer food. They usually don't do the food that great, but they excel at ice cream. They got lots of interesting ice cream flavors to try, and they are on par with pricing for the area. Come here for a sweet treat, probably ignore the food options, and enjoy!
