After the Berlin Fair, my friend and I went to Praline's for some ice cream. This is a family owned business, there's a huge menu of available flavors. The shop was a little difficult to find, in a shopping plaza. Inside, it's no frills pretty standard. The girl working let us sample some flavors. I went half and half on the Banana and Dulce de Leche, my friend went with Chocolate and Coconut. Oh this was so, so delicious! The Banana was spot on, with a bit of caramel! The Dulce de Leche was the perfect pairing to the Banana, it's caramely, it's creamy, my favorite part was when the two flavors melted into one! Superb! My friend also loved her coconut and chocolate. There are so many flavors to choose from, anyone can can have their favorite pick! Covid-19 era review: normally Praline's is a cute little ice cream cafe with a shiny glass cases of ice cream and a cake display case. Fifty flavors (eat your heart out, 31 flavors), not including their soft-serves, might mean tough decision making, but the menu can be seen ahead of time on the website. Covid-era, the cafe is now a corral allowing five people in at a time, but the shiny case of ice cream cakes remains, and now-masked employees remain friendly. The reason you came, those fifty glorious ice cream flavors? They all appeared to be there, but the chairs parked along the case keep away hand and face prints if the young (or young at heart). Tough decision have not been impeded by Covid, so I recommend the Lemon Pie any time of year. Their sorbets are all excellent (though I haven't tried Watermelon Sherbert cause the different spelling throws me off, not it's fault), and White Russian is awesome as a scoop or shake. Good old Oreo and Brownie Chip help fix a bad day. Toppings and cones, waffle included, mean decision-making situation remains unimproved. One added bonus is that Praline's is behind Veterans Memorial Park (walking trails), and there are sidewalks along Farmington Avenue and Lower Lane--plenty of exercise opportunities after the frozen dessert of your choice. read more

I went here with some friends in a Wednesday night to grab some ice cream. This is a small local shop. The staff was friendly the prices were reasonable. There was plenty of parking. The have ice cram cones, cup, and milkshake here. They have a variety of flavors. I had the brownie chip ice cream in a waffle cone. They charge by the scoop. You can get one, two or three scoops and you can mix and match your flavors and put toppings on your ice cream as well. They also have dog ice cream cups. They don't have any outdoor seating. We brought my 3yr old granddaughter to have some ice cream... the staff was cold and the ice cream sundaes were freezer burnt trash...they wouldn't let my 3yr old granddaughter use the restroom.. and there is no where to sit.. I brought my whole family with us.. the bill was 47 dollars and they wouldn't let my 3yr old granddaughter use their bathroom and we was trying to avoid her having an accident... I will never go back there again and would never recommend these heartless soulless pieces of trash... very limited seating literally 2 patio tables and chairs...absolutely the worse place to bring a child... way over priced, they were unprofessional, heartless, pieces of trash.. The lovely young lady behind the counter was incredibly accommodating, answering our questions and giving us samples of a few flavors each before we made a decision. I decided on chocolate brownie and coffee Oreo, both of which were incredible! The cozy vibe Praline's exudes made it great for hanging out and enjoying our ice cream after a day of racing. Not since the invention of the Listerine Pocketpak breath strip has so much flavor been crammed into such a tiny package. Literally. They've got 50+ flavors of ice cream, sherbet, and frozen yogurt, and about 300 square feet of space to dish it all out. There's a few specialty sundaes, soft serve with that dipped shell stuff, some chocolate dipped cones (I had one with nuts as a matter of fact), and the usual lineup of malts and shakes. There's just a few tables inside to sit down, or park yourself at the benches outside. It's exactly what it's meant to be - a cute little ice cream shop, primarily run by high schoolers, primarily eaten by locals. And so the local economy is not yet dead. read more
