The day before Thanksgiving, we were in the area and was craving ice cream. All the ice cream shops nearby were closed, so we opted for this Thai ice cream place. Thai ice cream is a mixture of sweet liquid, poured onto a very cold pan, and then rolling it with a spatula; toppings can be added after. On this visit, we got a Thai tea boba tea and a cookie monster rolled iced cream. The employee was nice but he didn't mention that the rolled ice cream was premade and already in the fridge until after we paid. We wanted my children to see them make it because it's unique but I'm assuming they were short staffed, that is why it was premade. There was one other customer in front of us. The overall wait took quite a long time though. The Thai iced tea came out first and it was bland, the flavor was mild and I could barely taste the Thai tea flavor. The color wasn't the usual bright orange I normally see. After another wait, we got our cookie monster ice cream which is Oreo cookie flavored, it was in the fridge the whole time; we were able to get three toppings for it. My child enjoyed it. I'm not sure why it took so long since it was already premade. A large group of people came in after us, the employee was about to take their orders before giving us our order, thankfully, they were still deciding so he started working on our order. I understand it's a day before a holiday and there was only one employee, but we did pay full price to have the same experience as it it was another regular day. Overall, the wait, the flavor of the boba tea, and the ice cream being premade, made the experience below average, so I gave it 2 stars.

Ever had stir-fried ice cream? Well it is a very cool thing. Making ice cream from scratch; sweet cream base and whatever mix-in's you like... then watch the magic happen. While this is totally a need to try experience- the high pricing and long wait times make it an "experience" versus a go-to ice cream shop. If you haven't had it - try it.

Reese's Blast

My wife and I saw 0degree online and thought it would be fun to try. We ordered and shared the Rece's Blast. They had pre-made versions but it's fun watching them make it. We topped our ice cream with M&Ms and peanut butter cups. It was very good and we enjoyed it. I thought it was on the expensive side at about $10 but if you split it with someone it isn't bad. The only thing that bothered me was that if you pay with credit card you get charged 3% more than if you pay with cash. So, if you don't have cash you get charged 3% more. You see this more and more these days and I personally don't like it. Raise the price if you have to but don't make your customer feel as though they are getting ripped off. There is also a law that regulates this sort of thing. It also stipulates exactly what a business is supposed to do if they choose to charge extra. https://www.wiggin.com/publication/connecticut-makes-significant-changes-to-its-credit-card-surcharge-law-effective-immediately/

Miss Nilla Ice Cream

I came here with a group of friends, including my niece, on a Saturday night after dinner. Some of us chose to have the ice cream that was already made in the fridge, while the others wanted to watch theirs be created. The concept and experience of this place is cool, especially for my niece, but the wait to watch was pretty long. I ordered the Miss Nilla (pre-made) and added more shredded coconut, caramel and some Nilla wafers on top. The flavor was good, not the creamiest ice cream, but definitely satisfied my sweet tooth. Although I won't be running back here for myself (overpriced), I think this is a good spot to treat my niece.

I was very curious to try this place after following so many great reviews in Yelp. I visited the place on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty much empty with me being the only customer. The best thing I found here is that they do have a lot of non diary ice creams in the menu (made of oats milk) although they have not mentioned those as vegan. I never had Thai rolled ice creams before, so had no idea what to try. I was told that monkey business is the most popular flavor here, hence I opted for that (with strawberries as they were out of bananas) diary free option. I also got a strawberry rolled ice cream with diary ice cream. I liked the ice creams (especially the diary free one).

Love the ice cream. They had lots of different flavors and the best part was that most of their ice cream was dairy free which was perfect for myself and my daughter who have a milk allergy. You can watch them make the ice cream in front of you and you can choose lots of great toppings for yourself desert. They also offered flavored tea and milk tea. I loved the decore of the place and the location was easy to find.

Nothing special, have to crave it if I want it. My cousin got milk tea, it def didn't taste like it at all. I got the natural fruit tea in lychee. Taste too sweet. I give it three stars bc of the cute little girl helping her mom!

Love this place! My go-to is the Reese's Blast, but today my husband made us get the S'mores. I always do dairy free, so it's nice that almost all of the flavors can be done DF. This was really good and the toasted marshmallow was so yummy. The serving sizes are massive so we only share one.

A little bit obsessed with this place? What else would you call re-routing my boyfriend's gps to this place if I know we'll pass by Middletown? When I heard about this place from some coworkers, definitely was curious but skeptical, since CT dessert places typically don't match to NYC or Boston. But this one takes the cake! My boyfriend says hands down 0degree has the best rolled ice cream and I can't help but agree! We've had both boba and rolled ice cream here. Definitely the surprise was watermelon milk tea! A refreshing taste that was good to have, maybe not best paired with a savory flavor of ice cream, but still great flavor. All the bubble tea here is good! Tried a variety of flavors here. But hands down gotta give it to the Monkey Business flavor, which is rolled banana ice cream with Nutella. My boyfriend has dreams about this rolled ice cream and it always puts him in a good mood. I usually get the same, or if it's a day where the manager has Thai ice cream in stock (which is FRESH flavored), then that's no brainer my choice. My friends who came with me the day I tried it saw me SHOOK with happiness when I tried it, and also laughed as they watched me get a second one. It's that good! And on top of all that, the staff is friendly and engaging. I had a lot of questions once I found out about this hidden Thai ice cream flavor (or not so hidden, it's on their website and I just constantly inquire about it). And the manager and staff are always able to answer my questions. Additionally, they always make their customers smile and make their rolled ice cream unique! Sometimes they'll put a spin and draw a while on the ice cream before they roll it. Definitely a top spot for me and I've had days where I'll call ahead to ask if they have the Thai ice cream flavor for the day and I'll zoom over from West Hartford to get it. Can't wait for the upcoming WeHa location!

Monkey business topped with KitKat, Walnut and Reese's peanut butter cup

I tried the monkey business, and it was really good. Ice cream was well made with lots of nutella. I recommend this. Topping selection was smaller, but they had my favorite toppings - Kit Kat, Resees peanut butter cup and walnuts.

Matcha green tea

After having followed all the food posts on social media and the curiosity to try the Thai ice cream, I finally made it to 0 degrees on a cold winter Sunday evening; little did I know the wait will be over 30 mins to get an ice cream. I probably didn't mind the wait because of my curiosity + eagerness to taste it. The menu on the wall seems to be very long, bottom line is that they have about 10 types of ice creams to choose from. I ordered the mango strawberry madness and my partner ordered the matcha green tea with blueberries. We enjoyed and liked what we ordered, they are not very sweet and tastes good. Using fresh fruits instead of frozen fruits may give a better flavor profile, just my thought. Also, with the time it takes to make an ice cream; I cannot imagine the wait during the summers. Parking (street parking though) can also be a hassle. Overall good experience and I will go back.

I would've given the place 5 stars, but there were a few minor details that prevented this. Ordering is very straightforward. There are a few chalkboards behind the counter. You can order the Thai Ice Cream, Bubble Teas & Fruit Teas. When placing an ice cream order, you give your choices to the person at the register ($10 min. to use a card, $7/cup), they put your name(s) on the cups and then you wait for them to call your name. Once called, you make your way back counter, to watch them prepare your ice cream. If you've ever been to Cold Stone Creamery, the method is very similar. They start by pouring the liquids over a freezing cold circular slab, then they add the ingredients. The mixture is chopped, blended and eventually smoothed out over the surface of the slab. The trick here, is they scrape the ice cream off in a way, that it forms rolls or tubes of ice cream. They then take the tubes and stand them upright in a cup. From there, your cup is brought to the toppings station. My son and hubby both had the Strawberry Shawty (vanilla ice cream, strawberries, graham) and I had the Key Lime (vanilla ice cream, limes and graham). My son added sprinkles...cause that's what 3 year olds do. My hubby added chocolate chips...cause that's what 40 year olds do. I stuck to my standard, whipped cream with a cherry on top. We were all pleased with the taste and the creamy texture. Seating is limited. There is bar seating facing out the front windows, and tables along one side of the space. They could stand to use a few more tables. The spoons need to be upgraded. The ice cream is firm, and trying to get it out of the cup with a flimsy spoon was hard work. It was especially hard for my son. The price is a little steep. The one size portion at $7, is more than a pint of "the good" ice cream at the grocery store. I would love to see a small or kid size offered, for a little less. We'll definitely be back to try the other flavors, but maybe do it one cup at a time.

Cookie & pocchi & chips

Family of four tried this trendy ice cream and "boba" tea. We walked in with only one family in front of us which is key since each ice cream is rolled/made to order. Kids both had Cookie, I had PB, hubs had Miss Nilla, everything was delicious and the "roller" calls your name so you can watch it be chilled & rolled VERY COOL (get it ;-) You roll around the line to pick as many toppings as you want, I'd recommend the toasted (as in fired) marshmallow for the wow factor. Kids loved the pocchi (sp?) kiddos tried taro tea and vanilla latte tea they were ok. Unique and worth a try/ride

Had seen the bright orange colors from the street and heard about the process of Nitro ice cream…read morebut I finally had the opportunity to stop in. Well...Not sure why I waited so long. Probably one of the coolest ice cream experiences that I've had. For those who don't know, Nitro Cream & Crumbz makes there ice cream for you on the spot using Liquid Nitrogen blenders. It essentially freezes the mix on the spot. A cool process that yields much creamier ice cream (that I read and in person confirmed). This isn't just your typical ice cream scoop and plop experience. During the experience, cool smoke from the liquid nitrogen fills the area as they stir your selected ice cream flavor. The process of the employees adding the ingredients is done all within your line of sight for a full investment into your delicious treat. The flavors are FUN and the end result is visually appealing to eat. I myself got the HOLY CANNOLI which had Riccota vanilla ice cream, crushed cannoli shell, dark chocolate and white chocolate chips wrapped in a spongy bubble waffle. It was delicious and creamy (as you hope from doing your homework on Liquid Nitrogen ice cream ). The staff were extremely friendly, bubbly even and helped explain popular options for a first time Nitro ice cream eater. Best part of this whole thing is having so many other great flavors left to try on my next trip. Highly recommend and prices are VERY reasonable (some might argue a little low for the experience you get).

We fell off the nitro ice cream kick for a while, but this spot just restored our love for it!…read moreGreat quality for both the ice cream itself and the bubble waffle cones. They had creative choices on the menu with plenty of toppings, and the cookies were fantastic too. Such a great treat while we were in Middletown, and we look forward to coming back!
