Beautiful seating and very tasty ice cream. We ordered the strawberry flavor and it didn't disappoint. Real small chunks of strawberry are always welcomed in my opinion. I just wished the service was a little bit faster that's all. Definitely returning!

"Babylon sisters shake it So fine, so young Tell me I'm the only one" (Steely Dan) Have you ever been to the Talcott Mountain Collective in Simsbury? It's a four seasons indoor/outdoor entertainment experience with two bars, fireplaces, a music stage, table games, outdoor fire pits, food service, and disc golf. Well a few weeks ago, I started to see social media posts about an ice cream shop at Talcott Mountain. We weren't sure exactly where Two Sisters Ice Cream was located. Was it inside the building? I couldn't find a website for it at all. So yesterday we solved the mystery and learned that Two Sisters operates out of a small building on Nod Road, on the east side of the Collective. The grounds around Two Sisters is gorgeous with lots of flowers and shrubs and dozens of picnic tables, benches and umbrellas, Their product line is pretty deep -cones, sundaes, shakes, floats, fruit smoothies, frozen lemonade, frozen iced tea, no fat/sugar added ice creams, plant based vegan non-dairy ice creams, frozen yogurts, sherbets and sorbets. Their pricing is great - small ice creams are $5 for 2 scoops (tax included), and sprinkles are free, unlike some of their hoity-toity local competitors. We had two small dishes with chocolate sprinkles and, yes, paid just $10 before tip. I went for sea salt caramel and tried the no fat/sugar added chocolate. My wife had a scoop of Graham Central Station and a scoop of Chocolate Chip. We sat at one of their picnic tables and within a few minutes both agreed that the ice cream was fantastic. I was so impressed with the no fat/sugar added chocolate - it just seemed like really good chocolate ice cream to me. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Two Sisters.

I had a 4 scoop cup on a Saturday evening. This place is like a trailer. But there were tons of parking and a lot of car around. Later I realized there was a golf course right next to it. And people were headed there. Graham Central station was my favorite flavor here. Coffee oreo, dinosaur crunch and cookie monster were my other flavors. All flavors were good. Scoops were of generous size.

Chocolate lovers chocolate and blue monstah! Both excellent with lots of inclusions!

This is clearly a local favorite and it is set up at the entrance to a local family farm. This is where they sort of lost me because I grew up on a farm. These places are never the entertainment for me that they are to others. But I understand the appeal to the local community and the length of the lines to buy ice cream in summer is a supporting proof of that. Sadly they have limited flavors and you cannot see or taste them before choosing, as most all of our ice cream places at home have available. I saw only a few on the list that I would order and chose the coffee flavor, hoping it was light in color and flavor. It was not. This is a problem for the caffeine low tolerance folks so don't choose it if you are one like me. There were few fruit flavors too, which surprised me in summer. The people were nice, the servings ample and the line moved quickly. There is seating at wooden picnic tables which face a fenced area where there are some animals to see. I think city residents would clearly enjoy this part more than I did. They serve cones and cups, but on such a hot day they recommended cups as safer though one of our hosts chose the cone anyway. I might look further for ice cream should we go back again. But the quality was fine and the portions substantial and probably more than I needed anyway. We all finished our ice cream and I was glad we could reach it so quickly.

One of the best ice cream places around for its unique flavors and a good "new location"…read more I've been a fan of their Ice cream since their old spot in Granby. I always enjoy the blood orange chocolate chip and seeing what unique flavors are concocted (geranium, key lime cheesecake, pomegranate). It's pretty pricey for what you get (1 scoop, 1.5 scoops and onward) and my scoop today was rather small. They also sell pints for $8 which is a better deal. Samples are a must because of all the options. Disappointed that they don't make ice cream cakes anymore, especially because J Foster's just isn't as good. Located near the Coffee Spot, library and Fitzgeralds, it has parking around the back or on the street.

Place is on a road with lots of shopping options. Parked outside while the missus ordered dinner. Wait was going to be a little while, so I went inside to get an ice cream appetizer. They have lots of unique ice cream flavors, but opted for the boysenberry jasmine because it was the weirdest one that I thought she would enjoy. The ice cream was a little icy but the scoop was a good size and the boysenberry was not overly tart. It was like a nice light tea as an ice cream. Quite pleasant, The food was okay. I appreciate the crust on the grilled cheese, the dedication to using straight up American cheese, and the bread choice. They need. Mozzarella or provolone option so one can get those epic cheese pulls. Also they need to use a sharper cheese to increase that cheese flavor. The Asian tacos were very wet, chicken was not seasoned and the veggies were fresh but lacked seasoning. It was a fine taco, but no flavor. The veggie bahn mi, much more seasoning on the veggies here than the veggies in the taco. We took those veggies out of the bahn mi and subbed them into the Asian tacos to give it more flavor. That worked. The bread was this artisan roll with a crispy outside but soft inside. A better bahn mi than other places, but the bread needs to be more akin to a hoagie roll rather than an artisanal sandwich roll. As a food location, I put them on par with other ice cream shops that offer food. They usually don't do the food that great, but they excel at ice cream. They got lots of interesting ice cream flavors to try, and they are on par with pricing for the area. Come here for a sweet treat, probably ignore the food options, and enjoy!

Kilwin's offers a sample so you can actually taste before you decide, which is a major win. It was a tough decision, but I will be back for the Cake Batter. The cones are made fresh in-house and smell divine. Beyond ice cream, there's a whole lineup of treats dipped in chocolate: pretzels, Oreos, marshmallows, you name it. Sweet tooth? Handled. Diet? Not. Service: Everyone was super friendly and patient, even with a line. You can tell they actually enjoy working there, which makes the whole experience feel even sweeter. Atmosphere: It's more of a grab-and-go setup, like just a candy store that sells ice cream not an ice cream shop, so there's no indoor seating but right outside there are plenty of benches in downtown West Hartford. In the case of Tulmeadow Farm and Lacroix's Homemade (I'm posting the same update for both), I have to admit that I had it somewhat wrong. Both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's made @cticecreamtour's Top 15 CT Creameries. My original reviews for both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's were both good btw. I just didn't initially connect with the flavors I tried in the way that I did with my other CT favorites. Since those initial reviews, everything I tried at each has been a banger. At Tulmeadow, I recently had Red Raspberry Chocolate Chip, Marshmallow Toasted Cornflake, Chocolate Raspberry Raspberry Curd and the best flavor I've had this year -- Double Raspberry Crumbcake. The flavors all popped. The use of intensely flavored raspberry curd in a couple of the ice creams was next level. The colors were right on. The texture was top tier. It's also a textural thing for me. So there was a bit of hesitation as well. I thought the ice cream was excellent. They had great flavors to choose from. I went with the bestselling red raspberry chocolate chip, and then the burnt honey sea salt. Service was super friendly. I asked what the smallest size was that they could do two flavors in and they were more than willing to accommodate the kiddie cup, which was still plenty of ice cream for me. I think the sign said it's 3 oz, but it at least seemed like more to me. As good as the red raspberry was, I think I preferred the burnt honey. The flavor was strong went well with the naturally occurring cream flavor. There was a lot of parking on the side of the building. I think there was an indoor area, though I can't confirm if you can order ice cream inside. I used the outdoor window to order. I also found the prices to be reasonable. Great first experience. I would definitely recommend the ice cream. It did not disappoint, and I look forward to having it again.

The ice cream freezer had years of ice and grime built up on the inside. It was half empty and the flavors remaining were fairly mundane.
