The food here slaps so good. Wings Over always delivers the flavors, wings and fries. Litterally I always get the boneless wings and they have yet to disappoint me or make me sick. Tender, meaty, juicy, crispy yet covered in this delicious sauce, my favorite honey mustard. Dear God the boneless wings are amazing and I'm not usually out here reviewing fast food chains but I just have to say something like it's that good!At least there's only 1 Wings Over in Newington and it's called "Wings Over Newington" which gives me a great reason to compare it to another Wings Over one day. The missing star is because sometimes, on normal days, service is SLOW like in all caps. SLOW! I'm afraid to order delivery from here because I've had trouble getting it within 2-3 hours!!!! With Uber Eats and Doordash being a thing now I trust them a little more but multiple times they let me down even pick-up wise. Sometimes they could be slow but at least last time I went it was ready in an extremely reasonable 15 minutes. Hopefully they can keep up this consistency. I want to be able to know I can go here for quick lunch breaks without needing to pray I'll get my food in time. read more

Picked up an order, drove home, found that celery and a side of sauce were missing, and the loaded fries weren't loaded. Drove back and was charged extra for the sauce (Will admit that my wife simply typed this as a request rather than adding it as its own item), was given cheese and bacon in cups (rather than a new order), and was told "nah I remember putting the celery in there." (It wasn't in there). Bad customer service. Even if I was lying, the cost to the store would've been arguably less than the gas and time I spent going back and forth. Food was good, though. And they threw in an extra wing read more

Great food here. I went twice one for a Yelp event and one once more! The wings is made fresh with each order. I got the garlic parm wings with a side of tots! I enjoyed the meal. I always go back after a Yelp event to see if the service is the same and I must say they upheld the great service. They have an array of flavors to choose from! The place is a little small just keep that in mind if you're thinking on dining in. read more

Wings Over has over 40 locations in 13 states and 7 of those locations right here in CT (Stratford, Middletown, West Hartford, Storrs, Fairfield, Bristol, and of course this Newington location located right next to Central CT State University! Their food and philosophy is simple: fresh, never frozen and cooked to order! Their tenders and wings come in over 23 flavors including the new Fire Buffalo and you can enjoy any of them on their new Tender Sandwich! Plus, they're always there for you, especially for those late-night cravings, and they'll come right to your door through Uber Eats, Grub Hub & Door Dash. Don't forget they can help cater your next gathering or game time get together where they can accommodate all order sizes both small and large!   I of course tried a little bit of everything with my partner in crime @isabellesplate We had the 1 tender sandwich with golden bbq sauce and garlic parm waffle fries, the crispy medium buffalo fried chicken sandwich with loaded waffles fries, honey mustard tenders, and two flavors of wings. Isabelle's favorite was the garlic parm and I loved the sweet chili. You know that Iz and I are the perfect match too because she prefers drums and I'll dig into flats all day everyday. All of the food here is so good! On a side note this has been my go to wing spot for years and the only place that when you have it delivered the wings are still crispy! Not sure how they do it but that's one of the many reasons why I am a loyal customer! read more

When I taste a win, I most definitely have to go in! Wings over Newington hit all of the marks for me today and I was not expecting for my chicken to openly slap my face the way it did. Slid up off into the spot and loved the layout, plus it was nice and clean; ready for business but then again, I did go first thing in the morning and so there wasn't a lunch rush or flustered folks behind the counter. With so many option to choose from with styles of chicken and flavors, I wanted to try something new. My eyes fell upon the Texas Mesquite Dry Rub and also the Honey Mustard (Savory) options for roughly $13 and the kid behind the counter said that price point comes with two flavors. I was stuck between the waffle fries and the tater tots, so I decided tots and waffle fries because, why not at this point in the game. Those tater tots had wild crispiness! It appeared they also had a garlic powder sprinkled over them for extra Karate Kick to the mouth. Crunchy and Flavorful without dipping them in ketchup? I tore those things on up as if they each owed me money for far too long. I even think I started smacking my lips extra loud too without a single care in the world. Moving along to the Wings (which were crazy hot btw and I loved that!) The honey mustard option packed so much flavor and a damn great bite! Plenty of chicken (though the wings are on the small side) but enough tender chicken to make up for the size and that crunch on the skin? Come on Family!!! THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE A WING BABY!!! Even the Waffle Fries came through with a nice potato bite, crispy and did not need salt in way of seasoning but you can dip these little things up off in some ketchup for a nice wow factor to your chew. My Texas Mesquite wings did not play fair. When I say these Wings will have me coming back for more over and over again? I MEAN IT!! Such an amazing power punch to the tastebuds for this dry rub! Lemon Pepper wings are KING at most locations but the KING has been dethroned with Texas Mesquite and its obvious that this flavor needs to take the forefront on the menu! STRAIGHT LIKE THAT!!! I WILL BE BACK AND SOON!!! read more

You might be thinking - 4 stars for wings. Yup and I stand by this rating because we have had wings there for the past couple of years on one of the busiest days of the year (NYE) and they have always been tender, delicious and full of flavor. I know there Wings Over Newington has delivery options and people might have different experiences but I always place my order and pick them up ensuring that they are freshly made. I have even picked them up and reheated them and they were never dry and flavorless. I do wish there were more sauce options than just ranch and buttermilk dressing AND that they did not charge $1 for celery (really a $1) but this is my go to place when I am craving wings! read more

food was amazing, definitely recommend the hot honey and honey mustard sauce. employee was helpful and polite.

When I got my meal and I ordered a piece tender Meal they came out and it looked like chicken nuggets. They were very small tenders and I asked him what is this and he said oh I gave you one more which doesn't add up to my six piece. I was very disappointed that he wouldn't do anything about it when the tenders are half the size you give twice as much. read more

We got two flavors of chicken (garlic parmesan, and teriyaki). We also got tater tots. The chicken was so overcooked that it was painful to bite through it and chew it. The tater tots, however were actual food. Last time we're getting chicken from there. read more

i have nothing but good things to say about WO Newington! sweetie and i have ordered through door dash twice now and my expectations were met and exceeded both times. the food is fresh, crispy and downright delicious. we had ordered from another spot (who shall remain nameless) that is known for their award-winning wings before trying this place and it was honestly no competition. we have tried the bone-in and boneless garlic parm & buffalo- and the caesar salad..based on both totally mouthwatering experiences they have definitely made their way into the regular rotation in our house! read more

Food service was incredible and food was on time. Recommend this place to anyone looking for a late night meal. Workers are also very nice!

Daniel was the best employer he was respectful and had great service will come again.

I have eaten here on a few occasions and every time I get physically ill from the food and if you order for delivery you can count on something being forgotten. The last time I ate here I ended up in the hospital! Obviously I can't 100% confirm it was the food from this place but it was the only thing I had eaten that day and I had become severely physically ill after eating it. read more

The chicken is well cooked and juicy, but the dry rubs and sauce seem to be barely there. Garlic parmesan seems to be a mere dusting and the bbq sauces I've gotten have been what seem to be a quick dip. This leaves the chicken well cooked, but rather tasteless. Thankfully the bleu cheese or ranch helps things along. read more

Not sure where to begin with all the downfalls of this restaurant. Ive eaten at the Bristol, West Hartford, and Storrs location, and this location is by far the worst of them all. Fries are consistently undercooked, cold, soggy, soft, and horrible. Sometimes when I ask for well done they are a bit better. Half the time they dont even cook them well done when I indicate on the online order. Fries are HORRIFIC. Please, have a manager go back there and try some of the fries they are cooking. The fry containers are consistently filled 1/2 to 2/3 of the way. Wings are usually ok pieces, but theres always a couple chewy, inedible pieces in the mix. These pieces dont resemble a tender/boneless wing at all, its just a mess of chicken in a ball practically. Here's the best part. I filled out a survey a few weeks ago and left poor review as the food was not good, and I got a $10 coupon. I redeemed the coupon and noticed my receipt had "preparation complaint" discount. When I got home and had the food it was great! The best I have had in months. Then when I ordered the following week, food was terrible again... its almost like I need to complain to get the staff to prepare some decent food. read more

This is our second trip to Wings over Newington. Our first trip, one of our orders was totally wrong ( wrong sauce and not bone in). Did not notice until we got home. Disappointed,to say the least. A short time later they called us and asked if there was an error, and gave us a credit in our next order. Today was our second trip, totally impressed and will definitely return. Not only were the wings delicious, but the staff was so friendly and courteous! Wings over Newington is a winner! read more

I will do an occasional take out from here, not because I like it, but because my fiancee insists on ordering from here. She likes it. I am not impressed or really like the food here which is pretty much wings, fries, onion rings, wraps, milk-shakes, etc... The bone-in wings I say are the best thing you can get here but the boneless wings on the other hand are just overcooked chicken strips doused in sauce. Wraps are bland and the fries & onion rings are usually soggy and greasy. They do have a wide selection of sauces that you can put on pretty much anything, but I find the sauces a bit too sweet. In the end I think that for what it is the food is expensive. So really what am I paying for, smiles and amazing service? Maybe not. Last couple times a large order of onion rings looked more like a small order. So why do I keep coming here? Well, as she says to me "happy wife, happy life." read more

Wings Over Newington - This is supposed to be a large order of onion rings for $6. There is about 2 dollars worth in there. - Chicken Wings Near Me - New Britain, Connecticut

Literally so bad. My wings were BONE DRY, as if someone had poured one drop of sauce on, thought, "Nah, too much," and then proceeded to attempt to smear that one drop all over one wing. I had to go all the way back to get sauce, which, to their credit, they were nice about. They also gave me Ken's dressing in those little packets and I was under the impression that they're supposed to have their own brand of dressing. I usually go to a different Wings location where the quality is much higher. This is really not worth your time. Please do better. read more

AYO! Went over to New B recently to visit my sister and she is an avid watcher of the Daym Drops youtube channel that recently featured this restraunt (See Daym P.'s Review you got the king of flavor to review ya joints!). She recommended this place heavily. I was shocked. The taste. THE TASTE. The god of flavor isn't enough and he did not oversell your food in his review. This needs something else, its own title, for it is its own taste. Yeah its a lil small but thats because the flavor hits you like a tactical nuke out of nowhere. I am never moved by food but this was a meal to rember. I wish I could move to New B just to eat at this place more. read more

Not a fan. This place had pretty horrible service. The people at the register didn't seem to know what they were doing (maybe they were both new?). They said it would be an hour wait, but it might be faster if I called? I'm standing right there... not sure how that makes any sense! Anyway, I waited and ordered their 2 most popular flavors according to one of the workers. The wings themselves were very plain (boneless) and the sauce was even more plain. Seemed as though the sauce was just grocery store bought? No distinct flavor or anything special. Wasn't the worst, but I've definitely had way better. There were also some bad pieces of chicken too - like old/discolored, etc. I've definitely made some better ones at home. Sorry but I won't be back! read more

I'm 31, not 21. Knowing that alone, you can probably infer that my fiance and I ate at Wings Over Newington as an act of desperation, not one of critical analysis and logical decision. After a service experience at the nearby Black Rose that was so unbelievably bad that we never received dinner, we haphazardly ran towards the geographically closest food establishment, which happened to be this one. DO NOT get the regular wings. I simply speak from past experience as a two-time UConn alumnus. They're breaded and/or floured, which is the dumbest thing you can possibly do, as one of the signature characteristics of great chicken wings is the crispy outer skin. Their method instead results in soggy and gross skin. Still, the boneless wings, which really should be called "deep-fried pieces of breaded boneless chicken," are quite good. In this case the breading makes sense, because there's no skin to create a naturally crispy outer layer. The citrus chipotle barbecue sauce was a great choice. Sugary, salty, spicy. So we shared a combo, which included a pound of the boneless wings, an enormous pile of fries, and a soda. Add a second soda, and the total was seventeen and change. That's a nice price for a large, fast meal. So even though I hate the actual chicken wings, Wings Over does remain worthwhile in my book. Pickup, sit down, or delivery in the local area are all available. read more

I've probably ordered from this place 20-30 times since they've been there. Very consistent and good. We usually get 1/2 lb boneless, and 25 wings - the dry rubs are really good. Waffle fries well done. We end up eating leftover cold wings the next day. I've never gotten a bad meal. One guy got a penis shaped boneless wing - maybe you were a dick when you ordered! (Pun intended). We've only gotten them delivered maybe 5-10 times??? I always try to tip the drivers good - maybe they know me??? I doubt it but maybe. One guy came out during a snowstorm. Never had any problems with drivers, messed up orders, or leaky bags. I was really surprised to see this in other reviews. Burgers are just ok. One son likes them. Gotten ribs a few times - also good. Maybe one time the Blackened Cajun were too black. That's about the worst I've been from them - still ate the crap out of them! Overall, they do a great job. A cut above other area fast-food options. Call for pick-up. I've gone in to order and the wait is extreme. Add 20 minutes on to whatever they estimate the time to be. The employees have three settings: "slow," "slower," and "barely breathing." Get ready to deal with air heads who need to be gently encouraged to get it right. The barbecue sauces are cloyingly sweet. Our favorite chicken "flavor" is mustang ranch. Buffalo wings are sufficiently spicy but very, very greasy (however, that's the nature of the beast). The best product is their "boneless chicken wings." I buy a bag of dinner rolls and then the chicken. We make little sandwiches out of the rolls and the boneless wings, with a little tomato and some mayo. The ribs here are best avoided -- but again, we probably don't like them because we don't care for their barbecue sauce. YMMV. As an aside, everyone in the family will appreciate something here. The burger is very, very good, especially for a restaurant that doesn't specialize in burgers. Order the waffle fries but beware, you'll get a lot. The cole slaw and macaroni salad used to be very good, but changed in the last 6 months. Avoid the regular fries -- go for onion rings instead. We've had similar experiences (tasty food, ditzy employees) at the Wings on the Westside of Hartford. read more

After being neglected at the Black Rose Tavern next door (see my review), Jason M. and I needed some quick, filling grub ASAP and Wings Over Newington was the first place we saw. My man and I ordered the Chipotle BBQ boneless wings with fries. He has been to other Wings Over joints and preferred the boneless over the regular; good choice. We were served and filled up quickly. They are a popular takeout place with CCSU students as we saw some youngsters picking up food to go with their kegs...lol! Very satisfying meal that wasn't at all fancy. I ordered some wings here for the Super Bowl and was impressed with how organized they were. I called in my order and paid over the phone. When I arrived at my scheduled pickup time, they were all ready to go. They seemed to handle this busy day of the year very well. The actual food was just okay. I like that they have a variety of sauces to choose from for the wings, but they aren't the greatest quality wings. I had also gotten sides of cole slaw which wasn't great cole slaw. Furthermore, for the amount of wings we had (25), the tiny dipping sauces (ranch and blue cheese) were way too small. If you're just doing a party or something where you need large quantities and lots of flavor options, this isn't a bad option, but if you want really good quality wings you might want to look elsewhere. read more

Excellent delivery wings! we always get boneless, the pieces are huge strips of white meat, tender, approx. 20 sauces to choose from, 5 levels of buffalo intensity, they always deliver quickly, the fries are good, you get ranch or blue cheese or both. My husband gets the teriyaki ribs and LOVES them. Every sauce we try is good, but the garlic parmesan, mustang ranch (dip them in ranch), citrus chipotle, and buffalo are stand outs. Some are wet sauces, some are dry rubs...all good AND they deliver late, which is perfect after a few (or more than a few) drinks:) would not recommend going there though..delivery is the strong point.
