When it was my turn to order, I asked what kind they had and the woman taking orders said a few things, but all I heard was strawberry. In part because I don't have the best hearing, and in part because there is a plastic shield separating customers from the employees. I asked if she could repeat the types. She stared at me unhappily for about 10 seconds, seemingly trying to make me feel uncomfortable. I said I couldn't hear you. There was obviously a bit of an issue understanding each other, but it became clear that I was asking her to say the choices again. She ultimately repeated them. Complete with annoyed glances. After I heard the types, I said I wanted the strawberry. She said "how many?" I said just one because I wanted to eat it then and didn't need any for later. From her body language and the disturbed look in her eyes, I could tell that she was unhappy, that I was getting just one. Like I was inconveniencing her by making her put forth such effort for just one paczki. I responded that I didn't want it anymore and walked out. If the menu is meant to be strict, then it should be clear and consistent. I'm not asking for a custom creation--just clarity and consistency. Either specify the type of cheese on the menu or allow a reasonable choice if it's not defined. Right now, it feels arbitrary, and that makes the experience disappointing.

I recently purchased Italian style sandwich rolls. They were definitely a step up from normal grocery store sandwich rolls that you would buy. In Italy, the word is "Nonnie" which just happens to be the name of an amazing Italian bakery we visited today. To be honest, calling Nonni's a "bakery" really shortchanges Grandma, because it is SO much more than that. Yes, of course they sell an incredible variety of beautifully crafted cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and cannolis, but you can also buy breakfast sandwiches, pizza, stromboli, arancino, stuffed breads, grinders, chicken cutlets and more. Their store is awesome, and you'll find yourself staring at their showcases and refrigerated cases. Service is top notch, with plenty of helpful and smiling folks helping you.
